Capri, we've had kids like that around. I never understood the mentality of some parents. I would feel so guilty never taking over my share of taking and picking up my kids. Some parents just don't get it, never will, and that is sad.

Tracey, I hope your son's hearing gets better. That must have been so scary!
BTW- Have I mentioned how happy I am to have you coming on the trip next year?

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Hump Day!

Today is my anniversary. 19 years. Although we've been together much longer. We met in junior high when I was 13 and became good friends. Then when I was 16 we started dating. I wasn't sure it would last, and I told him I gave it 3 months. 5 and a half years later, we were married.

Not sure what we are doing tonight. Dinner, but I don't know where. Usually we go away for a night or two to the beach or somewhere, but his parents can't watch the kids this year. His mom, who lives in CA, broke her arm! Poor thing. We probably could go down to the Strip to the Venetian or Bellagio overnight and leave Adam, my 17 year old, in charge. But I decided with our 3 week Michigan trip coming up in August, we should just keep it simple this year and save our money for that.

So, dinner it is. Maybe the Cheesecake Factory. I love it there.

Yup, that's what I heard. We could never get a beach ball once the ride started, so my advice is to get the ball when you're getting on the ride, although once you throw it, it's hard to pick up another one.

Okay ladies, I need some advice... good advice. Apparently DH is being sent to Australia for work for a couple of weeks in July. Of course, I want to meet up with him at the end for a week. We have an RCI timeshare so I can get a week for under $200, but only 2 are available, one between Brisband and Sydney (so about 4-6 hours from either airport), and the other about an hour south of Brisbane. Anyone been there??? Any advice on what to do??? We've always talked about going there, and now that his work will pay for his airfare, which is about $2000, we're thinking we should take advantage of that. Weird thing is that its winter there!! Brisbane shows temperatures having a high of about 65-70 (I know Beth, perfect!), but how warm will the water be? DH likes to go snorkeling. Anything you can tell me would help!!!

Okay so I don't have any advise but I say go for it! My rule is never turn down a chance to travel! The weather sounds wonderful .... a little chance to cool off in the middle of our hot summer. Have fun!

So I am on my way to Idaho. My sister in law has been with her ailing mom for the last few months taking care of her. Her mom is in her final days of cancer. Anywhos, it sounded like Angela /SIL needed some company and support, so at the last minute I decided to catch a ride with my BIL, who was making a trip up there this week. He's staying longer than I wanted to be gone, so Dave is going to pick me up. I know, you are probably thinking why isn't Melody just flying back? Well there is a lot more to this whole thing that I don't need to go into. Nothing bad, just a lot of little factors, that if I tried to explain to you, it would get ridiculous. LOL....

So I needs to catch up.

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be there early too. Tuesday for sure and maybe Monday .... so if you want to meet up let me know. I plan to keep it low key and relaxing .... lots of wandering.

I think this sounds great and it's workable forever and we don't ever have to "discuss" it again - woo hoo!!!!

We already know that not everyone is going to like every color, but seriously, it's just a color for one day (remember that some people really pushed for teal *cough - Jessica - cough* even though others really didn't care for it..... ) and others who detest pink wore it (and will wear it again ;-)

And if you don't like red you can always wear tie dye

Perhaps the shirt for the last day doesn't have to be a single solid color.

I mean, maybe we could pick a pattern instead. Like for instance, stripes. There are a lot of super cute striped shirts out there. It wouldn't really matter if the stripes are horizontal or vertical, just as long as everyone was in stripes. And then everyone could wear whatever colored stripes they wanted, be it red and white stripes, white and black stripes, pink and black stripes, blue and greens stripes, ect.

Or we could all wear floral.

Or polka dots.

Anyway, just a thought that picking a fun pattern may be a little easier and make everyone happy because then everyone can choose the colors they enjoy wearing for that day.

Dentist didn't go terribly badly. Apparently the tooth broke right AT the gumline, leaving me borderline between a crown and a root canal, but I lucked out and got a crown. My poor gum looked like h-e-double toothpicks though. Advil is my friend. LOL I go back for the permanent crown on the 12th. I leave for Convention on the 17th. I have too much to do in those 19 days between now and then..... but here I sit at the computer. LOL

So, this morning's announcement about Be Our Guest was to introduce the chef, the menu highlights, and to say that ADRs will start in "late August". The opening is still being called "for the holidays". ARGH! I guess I'm just going to have to make my plans and cancel stuff later to accommodate BoG if it opens in time. Sheesh. Disney sadists!

Ugh, I feel your dental pain. My 180 day post deployment insurance plan took most of that 180 days to approve my dental work. They finally sent the approval last Monday. I leave for Disneyland Saturday and my mandatory annual training begins the day we leave Disney (I'll be meeting the unit at the training site), and won't return home until AFTER the insurance expires. So we had 10 business days to get a whole lotta work done, including a root planing. So far we've done 3 out of the 4 necessary appointments, tomorrow is the last one where he'll seat the crown and finish the root planing that he started yesterday. The soft tissue in my mouth feels like hamburger and my jaw aches, but it will all be done tomorrow and I should no longer be in pain by the time we arrive Saturday. And if I am a bit sore, oh noes! I'll have to eat a lot of bread bowl soups at Pacific Wharf!

Week is half over! Thank GOD! I'm going to get Cassidy after work today and go to Michael's, I want to look at shirts and iron on transfers, maybe fabric paints instead. We need to get to work on our trip shirts! We've never done it this way before, I normally just buy us a few but I thought it would be fun to make some. Micah came home last night and said his sister is thinking about a trip to DL, apparently his parents asked if we would want to go, so it might have been good that I got Cass and I both APs! LOL He's already earning PTO so we could maybe take a long weekend and go. Could be fun to go with his family, on the other hand.....LOL I'm working on my lesson plan for July, I sent in my plan for next week but I have to get the rest of the month in today. I can't believe its already noon.....lol

I can see it now, I will be at DL during the trip and I will have lost my touring group due to one of my many stops at the restroom. (Hey--I like to keep hydrated, it is a good thing).

What will I do, I will see a group of women in grey...and think...I bet I know them!!!!

I would like to apologize for a previous post where I griped about the discussion still going on. I was taken to task for it. I did not intend to indicate that I thought people were "raging". I just meant that the debate/discussion was no closer to resolution than it had been the last I had checked a week or so ago.

I have some stuff going on in my life that is seriously not good, so came to the thread to lighten my heart.

It wasn't lightened. I was disappointed. I commented. I am impatient, likely my biggest fault, and it showed.

I think it is a bit of both. I go nowhere without my bottle of water, or 3...hydration is key.

I have trouble walking past a bathroom...I hear its siren song.......

The downside is that the hand soap at DL dries the skin on my hands horribly, so by the time I am home, my hands are inflamed.
