I know it's early yet, but I like that we are planning already. I guess it's just helping me get excited. I am really looking forward to this trip.

Me, too!! I don't get to go as often as some people do, so this ties me over until I can get back there again. When I lived in SoCal, I never planned like this. LOL!

I have a question, what's with the beach balls on Luigi's? I kept seeing mention of beach balls, but no one said what they were for.
I think I'd like Mater's ride. It appears to move in a sort of whipping motion, as opposed to spinning. I think I can handle that.

I think I'd like Mater's ride. It appears to move in a sort of whipping motion, as opposed to spinning. I think I can handle that.

apparently when the big wigs at Disney rode the LFT they decided it was missing something, so they added beach balls for riders to toss at others, not sure I get that but ok.....LOL

OMG today has been INsane!!!! work is just ridiculous! Just lots of little lame things that are piling up and all need to be dealt with now. I know its short term but its frustrating! lol
Work last night at the bar was good, my class was HUGE!!!!! Speaking of, I have to submit my lesson list to Danny today, I wanted to get it done yesterday but just didn't have the time. I have a lot of days I'm teaching next month!!
Micah took Cassidy for a drive last night, yes, with HER driving!! I have NO idea where they went or what they did but he took her out! The car looked fine when I got home so she clearly did OK. lol
So that's just a quick check in for me, I'll bbl!!

Teacups are one of my MUST DOs every trip to DL. Like Pirates and Small World. Must. Be. Ridden.

So here is my day, so far:

Let's see..... I went to bed at 9PM with an alarm set for 2:55AM to be online when the Disney sadists put the Candlelight Processional dining packages on sale. Woke up at 1:55 - oh, I don't THINK so! Back to sleep. Alarm went off and I got on the computer (which I had left on when I went to bed so I wouldn't have to wait for it to boot up). Did they put them online at 6AM FL time (as posted on their blog)? Noooooooo. So I spent an hour refreshing the page in one tab and commiserating with other DISers in another tab as we all geared up for the call to the God-forsaken WDW-DINE line at 7AM (4AM here). Called at 4AM and got told the hold time was "greater than SIXTY minutes". Yeah. So I leave the back office where I was to keep from waking Russ and go back to commiserating on the DIS boards. A couple minutes later someone posted that they had FINALLY been able to make a reservation online! WOOT! 4:12AM, confirmation received. 4:15AM, I was back in BED. LOL Finally got up around 9. Got back on the DIS boards and found out that tomorrow they are going to announce the projected opening date (and when they will start taking reservations) for the new Be Our Guest restaurant in the new Fantasyland expansion. So my itinerary only has 2 holes left in it: A reservation for Be Our Guest and a reservation for the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party. The folks wanting reservations for Wishes in September are chomping at the bit currently, so I figure I won't see those open up for my trip until September. Oh, and I still have to buy my ticket for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but since I'm planning to go the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, there shouldn't be a problem getting a ticket for that. I'm waiting on the dates for BoG and if they won't be open while I'm there, I'll get my Christmas party ticket now, but if they will be open, I'll wait until I can nail down a reservation there. I can do the Mickey Party 2 other nights of my trip. Since we are looking at DC (ick, but it's hubby's turn to choose) for our vacation in 2014, it will probably be 2016 before I get another shot at WDW, so I REALLY want to make sure I get my short list of MUST-DOs taken care of! LOL

And now that the laundry is done, I'm finally going to take my shower. My dentist appointment for the first part of my crown is at 2:30. Russ can't drive me, so I had to put on my big girl panties and do this one without the Valium. Should be interesting. NOT. Goal is to come home and take a nap while the novocaine wears off. I hate that feeling. Already got a take & bake pizza for dinner, so that's covered.

Yup, that's what I heard. We could never get a beach ball once the ride started, so my advice is to get the ball when you're getting on the ride, although once you throw it, it's hard to pick up another one.

Okay ladies, I need some advice... good advice. Apparently DH is being sent to Australia for work for a couple of weeks in July. Of course, I want to meet up with him at the end for a week. We have an RCI timeshare so I can get a week for under $200, but only 2 are available, one between Brisband and Sydney (so about 4-6 hours from either airport), and the other about an hour south of Brisbane. Anyone been there??? Any advice on what to do??? We've always talked about going there, and now that his work will pay for his airfare, which is about $2000, we're thinking we should take advantage of that. Weird thing is that its winter there!! Brisbane shows temperatures having a high of about 65-70 (I know Beth, perfect!), but how warm will the water be? DH likes to go snorkeling. Anything you can tell me would help!!!

Hi Ladies!
Crazy busy day yesterday so I did not get to post confirming my trip. But YES, I am coming for sure. Either Wed night or Thursday morning, until Sunday. I am rooming with Lisa and possibly bringing my Aunt, whose name is Pam. I finally asked my husband if he needed to know now or later that I was going to be going to the Diva trip in 2013. He took it pretty well

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone again and meet the new ladies as well.

I am so darn proud of my little guy. He is totally sucking it up and has agreed to a schedule of reading and vision therapy 4 days a week for the summer so that he will keep progressing. He puts out so much effort! I did have to promise regular visits to his favorite breakfast place though!

My oldest is starting drivers ed the second week in July but we have gotten his permit and started driving. I am so relieved to see that he is respectful and cautious! (I still feel like I need a brake on my side of the car though). Yesterday I took him for his follow up appointment with the audiology and ENT folks. He has lost about 15 dbs of hearing in a couple different frequencies but it was not nearly as bad as I feared. The good news was that it was likely from rupturing his ear drum when he hit the water and not from his other diagnosed ear issue at all. (so he should recover the hearing) IN FACT, the new doctor suggested we consult with a new otologist and get a new scan because he thinks it is highly unlikely that Andrew's diagnose from 12 years ago is correct. Should this be correct, then Andrew would be a candidate for surgery to repair his bones, which should then correct all of his low frequency loss, which means he would not likely need to use hearing aids at all (until he gets old, anyhow). You can guess that my son was pretty excited to hear that news, so we will be following up when he gets back from camp and we can squeeze in an appointment between drivers ed, showband, and our vacation...

Lisa, you are doing a way better job at planning than I am. I am so stuck about my trip and if I have enough stuff planned, or not enough. Should I plan a photo shoot? Should we do a wishes cruise? Should we book some water sports? Rental car, no rental car? I just can't decide!

Sarah never knows until the last minute, she seems to be gthe only one at her work who knows how to do things so if someone is out they really need her.

Tracey, glad your hubby took the Diva trip news ok. Just let me know if your Aunt decides to join the fun. Thanks for the update on the kiddos. Hopefully it all works out for Andrew to have the corrective surgery. And, best of luck on the driver's training. Adam is still not showing much interest in driving. I guess I am fine with that. Driving out here is unlike driving anyplace else, except maybe big cities like NY or Chicago! Scary!

Lisa, good luck at the dentist! They are all evil. Also, reading your WDW planning adventures makes me laugh. My mom would think we were all insane. She doesn't do theme parks anymore, but when we were little and we'd go to DL, there was no planning or making reservations. We'd get up, toss some sandwiches and chips into a bag and go. Done. If I told her about all this waking up at 2 and 3 in the morning, planning where to eat in a park 180 days out, she'd just shake her head. It's so different now.


Kerri, sorry work is sucking right now. Hope it improves for ya. Glad you are enjoying teaching at the bar though!

Not really sure, we saw other people moving faster than us. I think it's a balance thing, if you lean too far or not far enough, you won't go as fast.

So I am on my way to Idaho. My sister in law has been with her ailing mom for the last few months taking care of her. Her mom is in her final days of cancer. Anywhos, it sounded like Angela /SIL needed some company and support, so at the last minute I decided to catch a ride with my BIL, who was making a trip up there this week. He's staying longer than I wanted to be gone, so Dave is going to pick me up. I know, you are probably thinking why isn't Melody just flying back? Well there is a lot more to this whole thing that I don't need to go into. Nothing bad, just a lot of little factors, that if I tried to explain to you, it would get ridiculous. LOL....

So I needs to catch up.

LOL... That cake filling was so darn good. Seriously! I can't take credit for making it up. Only that I took it from another recipe, and used it with my favorite chocolate cake recipe. It came from the Barefoot Contessa. You can't go wrong with Ina!
