Hey Gals! Guess what I did today??? I applied for a job at the Disney Store. I guess I just want to be a CM:thumbsup2

They already called me for an interview. It will be a group interview on Wednesday. Anyone have any tips for me?? I haven't been on a real job interview for a lot of years, and never on a group interview.
Oh good luck !!! Employee discount !!!
I am thisclose from quitting my job. Yesterday, I was lectured (again!), this time for taking jury duty and not postponing it - even though I gave work 3 weeks notice and informed them that summer postponement would not work since I would not have care for my kids.n I was also lectured on how messy my office is - when I tried to explain that my stuff is all filed and it was the other teacher's work that was making the mess, I was ignored.

I am so sick of being picked on, never encouraged, and feeling left-out by the other full time teachers. It is not worth the stress or the 45 minute drive anymore. I hate to dissapoint some of the students, but this envoirnment is awful.
Hopefully what your students think of you is taken into account. Hope things get batter.
We did a group interview. I was with 3 others. Same as a regular interview, just we each took turns answering the questions. It was weird but I guess they are still doing it that way.

Kind of sounds like the Dating Game.

Husband comes home to find his wife in the kitchen crying. Concerned he turns her around from the counter to hug her and asks, "Honey, what's wrong.....?"

"I'm slicing onions!!":laughing::laughing:

Making red beans and rice tonight!!

I can't find it anywhere our here in the civvy world. lol I should have you buy me some from the BX! LOL :) Your dinner sounds yummy!! I got stuff to make chili last night, maybe that's what's for dinner tomorrow. :)

If ya want, I could pick you up some??

The fun stuff has started!! :cool1: Behind the scenes that is. The Meet and Greet committee has already been working hard on ideas and themes. So, no worries there. :)

As for gift exchanges, I'll typically do a Halloween exchange. Sign-ups for that will start in September. And we do a Christmas stocking exchange. That will start in November. They are a lot of fun!
I tried to do a summer one last year, but the interest just wasn't there. I think summer is already too busy of a time.... :confused3

I detest grocery shopping. I've been keeping better track of our expenses, and it's just incredible how much everything costs. I try to shop sales, use coupons, etc, but still.

Well, I am on pins and needles to see what the committees come up with!!!

Ya know, grocery shopping wouldn't be soo bad if the prices weren't soo crazy, the adverstisement didn't push every friggin thing down your throat, baggers would put more than two things per bag so you don't have a ton of plastic groceries bags in your mighty "bag of bags"(but I use canvas so no big), the coupons would actually be for items you actually use, and for people to stay on the RIGHT hand side of the isle instead of the middle so *I* can get through!!!!!

Yes, I'm feeling a bit ornery today!!!!

Just a few more days until my grandbaby is due but there are no signs of it being in any hurry. I'm just hoping it's on the weekend. It will be a pain to have to call all the day care parents to pick up at a moments notice. Even though they all know that might happen.

I love reading the Dis Divas threads. Sadly, I'll be three months shy of turning 18 :sad2

As for me, I'm hanging in there. I still get emotional from time to time, but I'm not bolting awake in the middle of the night from nightmares and anxiety anymore, which happened every night during my dad's final days. But sometimes, even though he was sick for quite a while, I still can't believe he's gone. Kinda weird, huh? :confused3

Last night a girlfriend took me out for a little while and treated me to a couple huckleberry mojitos - YUM! The only two places I've been the past several days is my house and my mom's house, so it was nice to get out and away from everything that's been going on and have some fun girlfriend time/conversation. Oh, she treated me to a beer too. What's an evening without a beer? ;)
I don't think it's weird. Sounds normal to me. Even with him being sick for awhile, and you knowing what was coming, once he's gone, it's just strange and will take time. I'm glad you had a good friend to take you out for a bit. Sounds like it was exactly what you needed.

My girls are on Spring Break starting tomorrow.....today is their last day of school and they go back Tuesday 4-3. Weird break schedule but it is what it is. :) It makes no difference to me, I have to work either way. LOL The fun part is tomorrow I get to leave work and go straight to Happy Hour at Chevy's with my girlfriend! :)
Hope your girls enjoy Spring Break! And have fun at Chevys.

Kind of sounds like the Dating Game.
:rotfl2: I used to watch that. "You, your date and a dating game chaperone..." That always made me laugh that they sent along a chaperone.

Hi Lisa!

I love reading the Dis Divas threads.
Thank-you, that's nice of you to say. It's been quiet around here lately though.

TGIF everyone!!

I just took my son to the bus to go to the airport to start his Paris adventure. I am very excited for him, but I just feel sick to my stomache. I hate my kids being away from me.

I think I will go write on my pretrip report for a while since that will cheer me up a bit.

Dear Capri! I am so sorry, I missed that you had lost your Dad. I am very sorry to hear that. It is always so hard to say good bye. Please know that I am thinking about you and your family and sending big hugs your way. Tracey

Capri, my thoughts are with you. I am so sorry for your loss.

Awwww, thanks you guys.

Well, I am on pins and needles to see what the committees come up with!!!

Yep, we've been busy planning and the M&G is going to be SO MUCH FUN! And that's all I can say (because I'm a tease and you know it....and so is Beth.) :ssst: popcorn:: :rolleyes1

I'm glad you had a good friend to take you out for a bit. Sounds like it was exactly what you needed.

Mojitos and beer would cheer anyone up...or is that just me? :cool2:

That would be hard on a momma.

But he'll be fine and is going to have such a great experience! And when he gets back, you can hug and kiss him until he screams mercy.

YUMMY!!!!! Recipe please! :)
I would love you for life if you could get me some!! :) We could meet at the mall so you could be sure I'm an actual person and not a wacko.......:rotfl::thumbsup2

I hear you on the grocery shoppping......and I use my own bags most days as well. At least at Trader Joe's (do you ever go there?) they bag you up well, I was unsure we would make it back to the car yesterday. We parked over by Party City because I wanted to go to TJ's, Micheal's and the bread outlet (which is closing after today!!!!!! :headache:) the cashier packed my frozen stuff in 1 bag, it was packed well but I was worried. LOL

I'm sure they will, but I've given them a list of chores to be done when I get home today.....I'm sure they aren't loving that! LOL I'll have fun at Chevy's, I like hanging out with this friend, we've just both been so busy the past few weeks we haven't had time...... :) Oh, I wonder what the fresh fruit Margarita is right now....hmmmmmm

Fun fun!!! He will have a great time!

So it's finally Friday!! TGIF!! I was thinking of asking Micah if he wanted to go to a movie with me tonight after work, I want to see Wrath of the Titans, but I hate going to movies on opening weekends......so I don't know, maybe I won't. I don't really have anything going on this weekend, next week I'm making cupcakes for my friend's birthday so last night I went to Micheal's to see what they had for decorating. I wanted to do zebra strips and hot pink in there somehow.....LOL So I got some hot pink food coloring (Duff brand so it should be good) and some sugar sheets that are zebra print!! I also got a fondant cutter so I can cut shapes out, I'm going to practice with a sugar sheet this weekend so I know what I'm doing next week. LOL I also got some glass paints and some wine glasses so I can try my hand at glass painting. :) I got the wine glasses from the dollar store. :) Just call me crafty!! :)

Okay Miss Crafty, you know we are going to want photos of the finished products. I loves me some cupcakes! I also love painted wine glasses. Hallmark sells the Lolita ones and they are awesome. I actually bought one because I liked it so much, then returned it because I don't drink wine and realized it was a completely impractical purchase. :rotfl:

LOL Beth, impractical or not it was probably cute. LOL I'll share photos.....I put them on FB so anyone who isn't my friend already and wants to see let me know, I'll either make a public folder or you can friend request me. :) I'm excited about the glass painting, I have done etched glasses that turned out really nice, I'm hoping I can do a good job on the glasses too. :)

A quick hello ladies.

Got a call Monday night from my old best bud from HS in So Cal. She had an opportunity to stay 2 nights free at a 5 star resort called the Calistoga Ranch in the Napa Valley area. The catch was that I had to be able to leave the next day. LOL....talk about getting ready and taking off quick a minute. So she and another friend swung by here on the way and picked me up.
Anywhos, the place was unbelievable. It had 2 bedrooms, an outdoor living area with fireplace. a full blown kitchen with the most expensive appliances, outdoor jacuzzi, shower and so on. It goes for $2000.00 a night on the internet. :scared1:Youza! Anywhos, all for free. This was the kind of place the rich and famous escape to, so i got to hang out with the mucky mucks. :rotfl: Actually, we were so excluded, that we hardly saw anyone.

So, how is everyone?

I just got somewhat caught up.

Capri, I am so so sorry about your Dad. It is so hard to lose a parent. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are going out for you sweetie. Please take care, and give yourself the biggest of hugs from me.
Love you! Mel:hug:

Kerri, If you go to Michaels or Joanns, look for food coloring that comes in paste or gel form, made from Wilton. I'm positive you should find hot pink and black. I just bought some of that stuff today in red, so I know. LOL! :thumbsup2 As I was browsing they had lots of colors to choose from. :goodvibes

Hey Jess! How is our Diva CM doing? :cool1:

Charlene, love the onion story!

Tracey, I feel for ya. I've had lots of my kids go overseas. The minute they left, I was already counting the days, they would be coming home. I pray your son has a wonderful time. Take care Momma!

Hi Trudi!
Are ya getting anxious? :cloud9:

So, when do you guys/we get to start planning things out like themes for the M&G, etc? I am guessing that is a little while off, but just curious when that fun stuff starts. :goodvibes

Also, what holidays do you do gift exchanges. I think that would be a lot of fun too. :)
Hi Andrea!

Well like Katie said, we have some plans in the works, and some time in the fall we will let the cat out of the bag. Hee hee!

As far as gift exchanges go, we usually do Halloween/Fall and Christmas. We've had other ones, but those seem to be the most popular. :goodvibes

I ♥ Trader Joe's. If we had one in Natomas, I'd never need to leave here. LOL

I was at Michael's today. You know you have too much craft stuff when you have a 50% coupon and don't see anything you want to use it on. LOL :rolleyes1

Sounds lovely! I love to travel 5 star and free is ideal! But I settle for 2+ most of the time at my expense:rotfl:

Hi Trudi!
Are ya getting anxious? :cloud9:

I found hot pink at Michael's, it's the Duff brand, I'm excited, I just hope they turn out the way I want them to. :) But they probably won't because I'm too critical of my own work. LOL

I ♥ Trader Joe's. If we had one in Natomas, I'd never need to leave here. LOL

I was at Michael's today. You know you have too much craft stuff when you have a 50% coupon and don't see anything you want to use it on. LOL :rolleyes1

Thank goodness I don't have too much stuff.... :lmao:

Went to Chevy's with my friend tonight, had a Kiwi Margarita and some chicken flautas, paid with a $20 and got $11 back, after tip. :) Not bad I think! Can't beat a $3 Margarita. :)

LOL Beth, impractical or not it was probably cute. LOL
It was! It had the word "princess" on it with gems and tiaras. Very cute. But I know I'd never use it, unless I filled it with diet Pepsi! lol

I was just about to send out a search party for you! lol Come to find out you've been living the life of the rich and famous, at least temporarily. ;) I had to look that place up on tripadvisor. Nice!! Did you use the outdoor shower? :thumbsup2
