It's someone you know (slightly crazy) who loves the rain. ;)

Oh c'mon, you're being too generous. She's not slightly crazy, she's a wackadoo...... and her name is Betty :rolleyes1

I know most of you saw her on Facebook but here she is: Violet Star.

232323232%7Ffp43589%3Enu%3D3236%3E478%3E%3A58%3EWSNRCG%3D34%3C5657247326nu0mrj

Congrats Trudi and Sarah!!! She is such a beauty already :flower3:

Happy Monday everyone! And yes I'm serious. I'm beginning to hate the weekends because our house has become teenager central during the weekends. I don't know when my house became the house to hang out at, but it's getting on my nerves and I haven't been able to sleep because I have to check on them constantly and they stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning and then I have to get up at my regular time, because Laila doesn't care that I was up all night with teens....I'm really sick of teenagers and I seriously can't wait until Adara and Devin are adults .

We are off to go skiing tomorrow for Spring Break at Mammoth. It has been such a lousy ski season that this is our first time up! Hope I am not too rusty!

Do you ever stay in one place!! You are one busy lady and I hope the snow is perfect for skiing ;).

It's a GIRL!

They named her Violet Star Beck. 7lbs 13ozs

Cute name! And congrats to your family! I love babies :lovestruc.

Trudi and Sarah! Congrats to you Grandma and Auntie! :goodvibes I saw the photos and Violet is just precious!! Trudi, I took Adam to Disneyland for the first time at 6 months. I still have his baby Mickey ears. So, do you think you'll even wait that long?? :rotfl2: ;)

I took Laila when she was 4 weeks old. I think she had a blast . We also took her to WDW when she was 3 months old and she swears she remembers going :confused3. I think it's just because she looks at the pictures all the time.

Beth~ Your spring outings sound like a lot of fun. Doing local things can be tons of fun and a lot less expensive :thumbsup2.

Didn't make it to DL on Saturday. Went apartment looking with my DD.

Small world .... I live in Natomas too! :goodvibes

Huh, 1 of 2 best friends lives in Natomas.......

Good morning, ladies! Monday rears it's ugly head once again! But, it's not too bad here since the kids are on break. No morning rush. :thumbsup2 Ruben works Mon-Wed this week, then has a four day weekend.

I'm working on finding fun local things for us to do. So far, so good! We've been using Groupon, the radio shopping show (which has discounts for local restaurants/shows), and just regular locals discounts/coupons to find things to do. I'm turned it into my own personal challenge! :rotfl:

We went out for Mexican food on Saturday and used a Groupon there. Then yesterday we took our annual passes to Spring Preserve and spent the day there. We followed that with a picnic in the park. Later this week we have more coupons and discounts to use up.

It's not a trip to Disney or anything grand, lol, but we are still having a nice time. Today Noelle has a friend coming over, but we're just staying home.
After all, I do still have laundry/cleaning to do!

Bridget, the weather here cooled down! It was 86 on Saturday, then only in the upper 60's yesterday. So, I won't need that guest room just yet, but this summer when we have 3-4 months straight of triple digit temps, I might take you up on that offer. :thumbsup2

Everyone else have a great day!

I just said to myself, I need to start watching Groupon to see if anything cool pops up before we leave! :) I love Groupon!

I'm the Mom that wants to be the house that everyone wants to hang out at. Micah says I'm crazy, but I'd rather have them all at my house. :) It can't be easy with Laila tho. :)

I can't believe the weekend is already over.....it went too fast, way too fast! I didn't get stuff I wanted to get done, done.....lol I did get to do a trial run on the cupcakes, took some to pub quiz last night and they were devoured!!! They are sooooooooooo cute too!!!! I love the frosting!! It's so pink it's insane! LOL I don't want to put pics on my FB yet, I want Amy to be surprised, but on Thursday I should have some photos up. :) I did them black and white "swirl" with the hot pink frosting, they were so cute! I don't have class tonight, but I might still go out.....I haven't decided yet. I was so tired this morning, I feel like I just woke up, seriously, just groggy all morning.....I had a piece of chocolate, that should help. LOL

Kerri I am with you. I want my kids and their friends at my house so I can keep an eyeball on them. They may be annoying but at least I know what they are up to ;)

It's a GIRL!

First my sisters fiancé said it was a boy but quickly said April Fools. I couldnt be there at the hospital but my mom had me on speaker phone when he announced it and then they texted me the video.

They named her Violet Star Beck. 7lbs 13ozs

My grandma's middle name is Violet and her mom's first name was Violet. My sister's middle name is Star too.

Please don't say anything to my mom on Facebook just yet since my sister and Bill are still telling people the news.

I can't wait to meet my niece tomorrow!

Congrats to your family! Such a nice name, and she is so cute! :goodvibes

I love the heat. Can I trade you? We are at 6 degrees, which I believe is 42 in f (I googled! Haha). But I would love the heat, as long as there is AC in the house. I like the heat outside, but not in the house.

How about when you go into Michaels with that hot 50% coupon in your hand, and the item you want is already on sale for just 30%! :headache:

Yeah, that's what usually happens. I was going to get some cute wedding favors that could be altered into something cute, but they were on sale already. SIGH.

It's a short week this week, with it being Good Friday coming up. We are going to Calgary on Thursday night to visit with a friend, and Saturday my Dad is having an Easter dinner. Then Sunday we will come back to Red Deer to have dinner at Dillon's Moms. Going to be a busy weekend, but it will help pass the time so I don't start twiddling my thumbs! 2 weeks to go!!

Anybody else have Easter plans?

I thought the same thing when my kids were younger. But with Laila it's very draining. It also makes it difficult that I have a teenage boy and teenage girl. I don't like them mingling because...well...you know! Plus if it was small groups, it would also be manageable , but I had about 18 teens at my house this Saturday!!!

If the boys and girls would alternate weekends, it wouldn't be as bad and I wouldn't feel the need to be as watchful.

P.S. Can't wait to see pics of the cupcakes! I love cupcakes .

that's a lot of kids.....lol I totally understand about the mingling thing. Even with 2 girls at home there is a lot of mingling going on....some of DD15's best friends are guys........

The news is already out but here is another picture of my brand new grand daughter. Beth, I don't plan on waiting until she is 6 months to take her to Disneyland. It's got to be much sooner than that.:goodvibes I plan to go in a couple weeks and get some cute clothes. It was terrible not knowing the gender, I kept looking at all the cute stuff at DL and couldn't buy anything.
I love her hair ! So much. All my kids had peach fuzz for many months.

A quick hello ladies.

Got a call Monday night from my old best bud from HS in So Cal. She had an opportunity to stay 2 nights free at a 5 star resort called the Calistoga Ranch in the Napa Valley area. The catch was that I had to be able to leave the next day. LOL....talk about getting ready and taking off quick a minute. So she and another friend swung by here on the way and picked me up.
Anywhos, the place was unbelievable. It had 2 bedrooms, an outdoor living area with fireplace. a full blown kitchen with the most expensive appliances, outdoor jacuzzi, shower and so on. It goes for $2000.00 a night on the internet. :scared1:Youza! Anywhos, all for free. This was the kind of place the rich and famous escape to, so i got to hang out with the mucky mucks. :rotfl: Actually, we were so excluded, that we hardly saw anyone.

So, how is everyone?

uh, with envy!!!! :lmao:

MotoXPrincess, congrats on "auntie" status!!!! How exciting!!!

For those interested in Mirror Mirror it is really cute. I think you would enjoy it.

Have a good day all!

Thanks for the heads up! Can't wait to see it.

I love to do things in my own backyard. It's funny, lived in So. Cal. practically all my life and it took me moving away to do all those touristy things!:confused3

I concur!!!! Sure they eat me out of house and home and sure they are loud and abnoxious but I KNOW where they ARE!!!

stocked fridge, ear plugs and a curfew, that's all I'm going to say;)

That is INSANE, mama!!!!

Soon I'll have 3 teenage boys in the house, ugh!!! And with their little sister hanging around I have a feeling I'll have to do a lot of damage control when puppy love  sets in.

I'll add security cam.s to the other list I made in previous post ;)

So, last Friday Scott and I grabbed the kids, change (for the meters), cash (for the tolls) and drove to San Fran.

Scott and I had a great time, kids....not so much. Solution...?

Get grandma to come up and take care of the kids while hubby and I go off BY OURSELVES!!!!!!!

So ladies, I need your help. I'm pretty sure we will go in May, for 4 days. One of those afternoons we want to serve at a soup kitchen, but the rest of the time...:confused3

What to do...? Where to stay..? Where to eat...?

Oh and we are taking the BART in and using public transportation to get around. Those parking fee's are :scared1:

Thoughts?

:sunny: The sun has appeared in the Twin Cities yet again.. woohooo! :cool1:

The weeks of cloudy gray ugh-ness made for a very unhappy hubby :sad1: to the point where I considered calling his doc for a bump in meds.. or something. I get stressed out and try to think of ways to "fix" him when really he just needs time, hugs and hopefully a weather change to get a healthy dose of sunshine. If insurance would cover it, I would push for the special lights and park it by him during dialysis (since he has to sit there for 3 hours anyway). Ahh, but the clouds cleared up. Two days of non-gloom and a hopeful expected call received (with better than expected information) and all is well again.

Happy news?? what? what?? If you're on Facebook you already know. Over a year ago the owner/landlord had asked if we would be interested in taking on the caretaker job if the couple moved out. Sure, why not? We are home most days anyway, have done care taker duties in the past.

The current caretakers in our apartment complex bought a house, they will be leaving end of the month. Hmmmm, so we have been waiting and wondering.. and hoping... Got the call today! :goodvibes

We are currently in a modestly priced 2 bedroom, 750 sq feet, with 3 adults and 1 almost adult.. yeah it's a bit squishy but we manage.

The caretaker couple are in the only 3 bedroom in the building (3 bedroom apartments are a rarity in the metro area), we inquired into the price.. $$$$:eek::eek:
Uhhhhh noooooo I think we will just stay in the 2 bedroom (besides the boys have to move out someday. right?? right?? please tell me there is an end to stinky boy smell and dirty socks in the living room.. pleeeeeeeeeease).

The rent credit for caretaking duties will cut over HALF off our monthly rent! :yay::woohoo::dance3: Wow! YES!!!

Ahhhhhh, my monthly budget sighs in relief and the savings account (including my diva vacation fund) gets a little bigger. :thumbsup2

Happy hubby, happy wife, happy adult and happy almost-adult boys.
Life is good, indeed!

This is for Megan (Staley) heheee

That sounds heavenly!! :) Onions don't bother me, one of the perks of wearing contacts. LOL Let me know when you have it and we can make arrangements to get together. Altho I will say I'm basically busy until next week.....lol :)
