Happy Sunday, everyone! We did a whole lot of NUTHIN around here today. I went to the grocery store, but that was about IT. Roasted a chicken for dinner and had rice on the side. Nothing fancy. I need to get my butt into the craft cave and make some cards, but it's hard with the hubs home because I like to watch movies when I stamp and he complains about the noise. Ugh. I have Leroy & Stitch here that I got in the mail from Netflix yesterday. He's supposed to meet a friend for coffee tomorrow, so that may be my opportunity. LOL

One year I made Thanksgiving cards .... had so much fun and everyone loved them! :goodvibes I promised myself that from then on I would make all my cards .... have I done it ..... no! :confused3

They are!
By the way, with your screen name, you must be a grandma. I am too! I have 5 grandchildren with another on the way in September. :cloud9:

Yep .... also have 5 and hope for more in the future! :cloud9:

Grumpy Grandma Hi my name is Kelly and I live near Sac as well. I would be up for a mini meet also. I have done a few with some of the others and it's always lots of fun!!

Some of the DISers on another thread had a mini meet for lunch one day and had a wonderful time .... it was in New York so I thought it was a little far for me to go for lunch! :scared1:

Hi everyone, hope you all had a fun and/or relaxing weekend. :thumbsup2

Welcome to the new Divas - so exciting to see more fun ladies join in our fun! :yay:

My weekend started out on Friday with a boys sleepover at my house - because they're such a rare event here.

So in order to feed a bunch of starving boys for dinner, I made two taco pies with a side of rice and black beans. It was pretty yummy.

Saturday (St. Patrick's Day) the boys actually went to a sleepover at a friend's house just up the road! I mean...a sleepover somewhere other than here?!! I was shocked...and I was free! Free! FREE! :cool1: To take advantage of this rare opportunity, Justin and I thought, "Hey, we have the house to ourselves tonight. Lets rent a couple movies, order in, cozy up on the coach, and spend some quality time together." :love2:

Everything was going great until.....I had an allergic reaction to something I ate for dinner. Suddenly I was itching head to toe. It took me a while to figure out something was wrong. Itch here...itch there...itch here and itch there....itch-itch-itch-itch....itchitchitchitchitchitch....can't stop itching! Needless to say the evening didn't quite turn out like we planned. :sad2:

We didn't have any Benadryl on hand, it was late, and we were tired, so I went to bed and hoped the itching would stop and I would wake up fine again. Nope. I was still itchy as ever on Sunday and my chest/hands/feet/neck/ears were all red. It was, well, a little miserable. :goodvibes

Finally got some Benadryl in me yesterday evening and I'm happy to report that I woke up itch and hive free this morning. :cheer2:

And there you go. My St. Patrick's weekend in a nutshell. Excitement abounds. :smokin:

Hey, did you get a lot of rain? How were the crowds?
It pretty much rained all day, light then heavy, back and forth. The crowds were lighter than usual but still quite a lot of people. All I know is I'm shopping for a regular rain coat. Those poncho's don't quite do the job.
Good morning, ladies! I hope you all had a nice weekend. :)

Aww, that's a bummer, Trudi. I'm sorry your going to miss out on your Easter Egg. :sad2:
You'll be missing out too!
Top of the morning ladies!! Arrived in Ireland yesterday early morning. Sent the day touring to stay awake did the cliffs of Moor and a reallly cool cave. Today, slept in and tired to got to a walled garden but it was closed because of the holiday - since St. Paddys was on a Sat, they take Monday was the holiday. So went hiking some more at Kilkee - I love the names of the towns here! Not a beer drinker but did try some Guiness - much prefer the Irish cider! Yummy and higher alcohol content than the beer - go figure!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sounds like you're having a great time. Can't wait to see photos!

I do agree with you on the awesome coleslaw. That BBQ sounds so good right now. Wanna meet for dinner?? ;) If only.... lol

Also, if you, or any of our newer ladies like Andrea, Pam, Charlene, etc want to post a photo, I'll be happy to officially add you to the group. :)

I would LOVE to meet you for dinner at the BBQ!!! :) lol Next year, somewhere around the end of Feb beginning of March? I haven't looked at the first page, I think you need a photo of me......lol Feel free to steal one from FB, or I'll send you one later this week.

Would love to do a mini-meet!! When....what.....where!????! That would be great.

Us gals will just have to have a mini-meet so we CAN put faces to names, right?

Some of the DISers on another thread had a mini meet for lunch one day and had a wonderful time .... it was in New York so I thought it was a little far for me to go for lunch! :scared1:

Well let's work on setting that up!! :) Altho I'm busy for like the next month......:scared1:

Thank you for the compliments on the picture! It is a great photo spot. I love that background. Now just too bad you can't get a photo in that same spot while WoC is going on. That would make a nice background!

Thanks for adding me to the front page! It feels so nice to be OFFICIALLY part of this group. :)

My weekend was pretty good, despite some snow that we got. It's already melting away, since the temperatures haven't really dropped.

It was Dillon's birthday yesterday, so on Saturday we went out for dinner. He picked Sushi, and since I am not a Sushi eater, I had McDonald's before heading to the restaurant, lol.

Afterwards we headed back to our place for some drinks. We ended up having quite a few people stuffed in here, but it was a good time. I ended up taking Seth to my Mom's so that we didn't disturb his sleep time, etc.

Even though I had a bit of a hangover yesterday, it was a great weekend. :)

And here is my little man wearing his green on St. Patrick's Day:

Btw, I love the photos from St. Patrick's Day. So pretty. iPhones really can take great photos, as long as the lighting is good.

Hey everyone . Just checking in

Sorry your itches put a damper on your day. I'm sure you husband was real happy that you guys missed a good TV watching opportunity.

Oh and just wait until those boys turn into High School teens!!! You think they eat a lot now :scared1:. I had 4 teenage boys spend the night on Friday night (that happened to also be football players so these are some big boys)....there are no words to describe how much food they ate. It was truly unbelievable!!! On Saturday morning I actually cooked breakfast 3 times because they just kept eating!!!

Hi, Bridget! Thanks for checking in. I'm glad to hear you are having a fun time. :) Can't wait to hear more about it and see some pics.

Yep .... also have 5 and hope for more in the future! :cloud9:
Aw, that's nice. We have two Grandmas in the group now. Oh, wait, we'll have a third soon, which is Trudi. And I guess technically Theresa is a Grandma. LOL Am I missing anyone??

Oh curse those itchies ruining a perfectly good tv watching time!! Well, I'm glad you are better now.

What's the recipe for taco pie? It sounds good!

You'll be missing out too!
 That's right! Well....double darn it then.

I would LOVE to meet you for dinner at the BBQ!!! :) lol Next year, somewhere around the end of Feb beginning of March?
It's a date! :thumbsup2 And then after I'll need to meet up with Jessica for the mint julep we never got around to having this past time.

I'll pull a photo from Facebook. :thumbsup2 If you prefer another once I've done it, just let me know.

Well so much for some good quality :happytv: time! :rolleyes1 LOL!

Grumpy Grandma I am sorry if you said your real name I must have missed it but I feel silly calling you by your sn. Do you mind mentioning it again if you did already so I can call you by your name LOL. And that is funny yeah I think NY is a little too far to go ;) I know there are some of us around Sac and then some in the Bay area so I would be up for meeting here and/or there. I always love a day in the city. In fact I want to go see Beach Blanket Babylon if anyone is ever interested. Have heard it is hilarious and sort of has Disney theme :)

Andrea your little one is a doll!!

Capri I am so sorry about the allergy. Did you ever figure out what it was so you don't have that happen again? I bet it was even more dissapointing ruining your evening with your hubby. I know when I was married that was one thing we hardly ever got was "alone" time. Glad you are feeling better!!

Bridget wow that trip sounds amazing. Someday... In fact do any of you watch Amazing Race? Last Sunday they went to Neuschwanstein and I went there on my one and only trip almost 30 years ago. It sure hasn't changed and it was neat to see it in winter with the snow. We went in August. I want to go back and take the girls to see all that SO bad. And Ireland too of coures. ;)

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Yikes! I remember those days! We used to go through a box of cereal a day. And it was the big box!

Bridget, I have been thinking about you a lot these last couple of days. I don't like beer either, but the cider sounds pretty good.:thumbsup2
I forgot to ask how many are in your group? Are any of your friends Irish also? How is your castle bedroom? I'm picturing it cold and damp. Just watched a movie set in Ireland on St Paddy's Day. It featured a beautiful old estate as a hotel. :cloud9: Have fun, and give the Blarney Stone a kiss for me. :shamrock:

Aw...cute picture!

Lisa, you make really nice cards. I need some graduation and birthday cards. Do you ever sell them? If so, you can PM me back with the details.

Thanks, Mel! I have friends that sell cards and do "commissioned" work, but I don't. That would make it like "work" and then I probably wouldn't want to make them. LOL

One year I made Thanksgiving cards .... had so much fun and everyone loved them! :goodvibes I promised myself that from then on I would make all my cards .... have I done it ..... no! :confused3

I sell Stampin' Up. Before that, I sold Close To My Heart for almost 5 years. If I send out store bought cards to some people (fellow stampers and my mom and MIL), I get called on it. LOL. Hard to justify indulging in my hobby if I run out and buy cards for family birthdays and whatnot too.

Ack! Sorry, Capri! That's awful! And one of the reasons I keep benadryl in the med cabinet at ALL times. I also have the cream for the localized itchies. I can tolerate pain much better than itching. Ick. Glad you are finally itch-free!

What a cute photo!!!! They don't have other stuff at your sushi place? We went to sushi last night for Micah's Mom's birthday, I had steak teriyaki with tempura and crab rangoons.....no sushi! :) I had a bit of a hangover too....there's NO way I could have eaten McDonald's....lol

If you're talking about not eating McDonald's because you had a hangover, I think that they are the BEST thing to eat if you have one, haha. The grease soaks up all that alcohol, and it goes away so quick. At least, that is what I have found out for me!

And that face that Seth is making is the "i am wondering what i can get into next" face. It looks cute, but it means trouble!
