All the spring flowers were so pretty.

OMG, Sarah those photos are amazing. Brilliant colors! And yummy desserts. Glad you had fun.

Bernice, did you check out the Mexican restaurant? I love Mexican food! I can't believe you've been in the 80's! How weird. My mom in MI had that awful blizzard, then about a week later, they had a high of 81. Just nutty weather!! :upsidedow

Lisa, your meal sounds good! We did green eggs and pancakes for breakfast and that was the extent of our celebration. lol

Would you believe I took those with my phone?!?!

I just got the new iPhone and I really love the camera on it.

Beautiful pictures Sarah! You should post some of those on the "DL pic of the Day" thread!

! Dave and I are making brisket and rice pilaf for the high school kids at church tonight. All 100 of them!

Happy Sunday all! :goodvibes

I get to pack for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. Fun, huh? We usually have some close friends of the family over for a big meal that my mom cooks. I hope we still do it tomorrow, but since I've been gone I haven't heard any details. It will make it easier for me to say goodbye to them. I have no idea how I'll fit everything I need to do into the next week. No idea at all.

Maybe I'll swing by work and grab that Mickey t-shirt! I love that we usually get a new one with each 'holiday' and then some.

I don't envy your packing, organizing or completing those tedius task, however I do envy your new adventure all of that leads too!!!

Hope you grabbed the shirt. It was way cute!

Charlene, I'm about 5 minutes from the main gate, off Walters. :)
We should do a mini meet with those of us from around here :)

Would love to do a mini-meet!! When....what.....where!????! That would be great.

Charlene, I didn't know you were at Travis! Not too far from me. I don't remember if I mentioned it but I'm right on the other side of the Benicia Bridge. Well, I will be for the next few days. Then I'll be calling Anaheim home :rotfl:

Speaking of, I did find a place. I just have to pass a credit check for their landlord and then everything will be all set I suppose. I get along great with the couple (the wife is a huge Snow White fan ;)) but they do smoke so it wouldn't have been my first choice. Thankfully it's not bad since they mainly smoke outside but I'm taking an air purifier with me. It'll be temporary until I can find new roommates through work or until their neighbor's space opens up who I had contacted originally. I had met up with others, but they decided that me having to work at 3am just wasn't a good fit. But hey, a roof over my head is better than nothing, right?

Jess, I guess we shall have to wait till next year to meet. Praying that all works out for ya!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome. Anytime anyone want to do a little Dis mini meet let me know. I was surprised at how many of you are in No CA. I can hardly wait for the DL trip so I can put faces to names.

Us gals will just have to have a mini-meet so we CAN put faces to names, right?

I just looked through all my photos, and I don't have any of just me. This is the best one I could find. At least it's Disney! :)

Great picture!!

Corned beef and potatoes here. I don't care for cooked cabbage, so our cabbage will be Big Thunder Ranch Coleslaw. LOL

Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue Cole Slaw

Serves 6 to 8

1/2 cup white-wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)*
1 pound shredded purple cabbage (about 1/2 large cabbage)*
2 carrots, shredded*

Combine vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne in a blender; blend on low speed until sugar is dissolved.
With blender running, slowly pour oil through top of lid, processing until dressing is combined. Set aside.
Combine shredded cabbage and shredded carrots in a separate large bowl. Add dressing, tossing to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours, tossing occasionally, before serving.

*(can use two bags of ready made cole slaw mix)

I love this coleslaw! Thanks for sharing.

It has already started out interesting! We jsut arrived an hour ago and one of the students mom calls me to tell me that her daughter just called to tell her that she is fevering and has chicken pox.  And....we have all just been exposed to her for the last 6 hours. I know catching it after already having it is pretty slim, but is it still possible? My boss isn't here yet. Any advice on what to do? We stuck her in a cot by herself, but since my boys have never had it, and I only had it as a kid, I don't know what to do.

:scared1::scared1:

Well Surf's Up had this:

But I didn't see too many people ordering it. I did!

232323232%7Ffp43453%3Enu%3D34%3C3%3E236%3E943%3E25%3B4236%3A34235ot1lsi

And the Jolly Holiday Bakery had a mint chocolate cupcake. It was SO good!

That cupcake looks scrumptious!!!

Happy Sunday all! :goodvibes

Oh boy!!! That sounds yummy. Happy Sunday to ya'll!!!!

All caught up on here now just need to get caught up with lesson planning!!!!

Happy Sunday, everyone! We did a whole lot of NUTHIN around here today. I went to the grocery store, but that was about IT. Roasted a chicken for dinner and had rice on the side. Nothing fancy. I need to get my butt into the craft cave and make some cards, but it's hard with the hubs home because I like to watch movies when I stamp and he complains about the noise. Ugh. I have Leroy & Stitch here that I got in the mail from Netflix yesterday. He's supposed to meet a friend for coffee tomorrow, so that may be my opportunity. LOL

So, can someone tell me how the weekend goes by so quickly and the week just drags by? I feel like I just blinked and its Sunday night. At least Once Upon a time is on :thumbsup2

How was everyone's St. Patricks day? My friend and I went to dinner and drinks in downtown Chico. It was funny seeing all the college kids out in their costumes oblivious to the rain as they waited in-line to get into the bars.

Sarah, the flower pictures you took were great. Not much like spring here today. We had thunder, lightning and hail. I was really enjoying listening to the rain until I learned by washing machine died :headache:. It's about 7-8 years old. Now the questions is do you pay to repair or get a new one? Either way, I don't have time to deal with it. I had to go to the laundry mat. I hate the laundry mat...and boy is it expensive there days.:headache: Any one have any thoughts on a good brand/type?

I hope everyone has a great week :goodvibes Pray for a good sale somewhere on appliances for me :rotfl:

But you liked it!
I did ! I was surprised too, not overly minty.
Would you believe I took those with my phone?!?!

Your phone takes better pictures than my camera!
So, can someone tell me how the weekend goes by so quickly and the week just drags by? I feel like I just blinked and its Sunday night.

I hear ya!!! This weekend flew by.

Beth, I asked about the Easter Eggs and was told that this year they "most likely" won't be making them due to Candy Palace being closed.:sad1:

Sarah BEAUTIFUL pics. It looks like you and your mom had a fab time despite the rain!!

Grumpy Grandma Hi my name is Kelly and I live near Sac as well. I would be up for a mini meet also. I have done a few with some of the others and it's always lots of fun!!

Hope everyone had a fun St. Patty's day and weekend.

Mini meet sounds like a lot of fun!!! :goodvibes
They are!
By the way, with your screen name, you must be a grandma. I am too! I have 5 grandchildren with another on the way in September. :cloud9:

That cupcake looks scrumptious!!!
Yes they do!! ::yes::

Lisa, you make really nice cards. I need some graduation and birthday cards. Do you ever sell them? If so, you can PM me back with the details. :thumbsup2

Jodi, I hear ya on the weekend thing. I sewed, and watched some good ol Hallmark movies on Saturday, while it poured outside. Two of the movies were set in Ireland, for St Paddies Day. Not a lot of substance, but cute. We had corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Was going to make soda bread, but got lazy.

Good luck on the washing machine. You might inquire about getting a scratch or dented one. They are brand new, but might have the slightest dent, so can not be sold at full price. Lots of appliance stores have warehouses for them. Have fun! NOT! :headache: Oh and I have a high efficient top loader, called Cabrio. I didn't want a front loader, so went for this one. I love it!

I did ! I was surprised too, not overly minty.
Oooh, it looked super yummy! And I love mint chocolate, so no problem there for me!
Hey, did you get a lot of rain? How were the crowds?

I also have an iPhone 4, currently just an itouch since I can't unlock it, and the camera is really good!

I downloaded the Camera+ app and it really brightens up the pictures even more.

Beautiful pictures Sarah! You should post some of those on the "DL pic of the Day" thread!

I'll have to go look at that thread.

Sarah, love the pictures:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Great picture!!

That cupcake looks scrumptious!!!

Thanks! and it was really good. Not too minty.

Sarah, the flower pictures you took were great.

Thank you!

Sarah BEAUTIFUL pics. It looks like you and your mom had a fab time despite the rain!!

We did! It wasn't very crowded and the clouds made for good picture taking.

Good morning, ladies! I hope you all had a nice weekend. :)

I think my mom, who lives in northern Michigan, and I have traded weather!! She's expecting a high of 80 today while we will have a high of 54. I'm not complaining though. I love the cold! And my mom deserves a break after that awful winter storm they just had that left them without power for 5 days!

I hope everyone had a great day.....well, as great as a Monday can get anyway. ;)

Would you believe I took those with my phone?!?!

I just got the new iPhone and I really love the camera on it.
Wow, the are gorgeous.

:worship: I don't think I would even know how to begin to cook for 100 people!

So, can someone tell me how the weekend goes by so quickly and the week just drags by? I feel like I just blinked and its Sunday night.
Tell me about it! Good luck with the appliance shopping!

Happy Sunday, everyone! We did a whole lot of NUTHIN around here today. I went to the grocery store, but that was about IT.
Ditto. Every weekend, it's the same drill. Walmart and the grocery store. Such a fun life I lead.

Beth, I asked about the Easter Eggs and was told that this year they "most likely" won't be making them due to Candy Palace being closed.:sad1:
Aww, that's a bummer, Trudi. I'm sorry your going to miss out on your Easter Egg. :sad2:

Oh, Andrea, I wanted to let you know I added your photo to the front page. So, it's official now! lol :thumbsup2

Top of the morning ladies!! Arrived in Ireland yesterday early morning. Sent the day touring to stay awake did the cliffs of Moor and a reallly cool cave. Today, slept in and tired to got to a walled garden but it was closed because of the holiday - since St. Paddys was on a Sat, they take Monday was the holiday. So went hiking some more at Kilkee - I love the names of the towns here! Not a beer drinker but did try some Guiness - much prefer the Irish cider! Yummy and higher alcohol content than the beer - go figure!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
