Ok, so I solved the problem, now I just need to work out a few minor details for our field trip. My friend Danielle, our drama teacher where I work, will be joining us to help me drive. Since she is an employee she can drive students and room with them. We can downgrade to a less-expensive 5 passenger car so I do not need the big van and take my trailblazer too. I figure that a cheaper car with better gas mileage plus my trailblazer will work out to to about the same amount of gas at the van would have, plus I will not need that CDL. Phew! We may have to squeeze her into our room if there are no more available, but it is a small price to pay to get us all down there and back.
Yay!!! So glad it all worked out. :thumbsup2
Now have a safe drive there and back, and a magical time while you are there! :wizard:

Morning ladies! Just had to share a funny thing this morning. I posted a few weeks back that I got a new espresso machine. It is fully automatic and I just press the button for what I want. Well - this is the cappuccino I got this morning:

That's great! :goodvibes

I just made reservations for me and Lisa and her husband and son for a week at HoJo (thank you AP rate and Alaska miles :goodvibes ) in October. Her hubby is from Anaheim and has family there so it will be nice to have extra days for visiting as well as lots of time exploring the new DCA, Knott's Scary Farm and Mickey's Halloween Party.
Yay!! :cool1: I can't wait to see you and hopefully Lisa again. It was so nice to meet her. :)

Great way to start the day!

!
I love it when Mickey shows up unexpected!
Good morning, ladies!! Happy Hump Day!

I just found out yesterday that the behind the wheel training for Adam is going to run around $500!! :scared1: :sad2:
Wow that's expensive. In my days we had drivers training in school.
Glad the baby shower went well. Not much time left before the little one arrives. So exciting!! Do we all call you Grandma now? ;

Not yet. :)

I would do the mother/daughter trip to DL for her 16th. :) I took my daughter on a cruise for her 16th and we had a great time. How lucky that your daughter is taking French! We are going to DLRP in Oct. and I know NO French. Mr. CA says we'll be fine but I am a bit worried about our lack of knowledge of French. Cheryl told me how to say 'mushroom' since I hate mushrooms and I know they use mushrooms in their sauces. I need more tutoring in French! If you need me to bring anything back for your DD from DLRP I would be happy to!

OMG that would be amazing!!!! I have no idea what they have but I know she would love anything!! I can picture her face now when she sees it. :) Maybe some with the HM on it? That's her favorite ride, maybe a pin or two? Or a shirt? Can you send some money before you go? :) :)

Jen - glad to hear you solved the driving issue!

Cheryl - have a wonderful time in Hawaii!!

That is the BEST!!!!!!!

Not yet. :)

We had it in school too, but not anymore. I don't even want to think what it's going to cost....but we got her the handbooks yesterday so she can start practicing......I'm not ready.......lol

What did Theresa say!? I was in suspense over something that might make me laugh and then I was left hanging! popcorn::

Well, I spoke too soon. My boss doesn't want the other teacher going since we are both part time/hourly employees which means we would both have to be paid for the whole weekend. I didn't realize I was even getting paid. Now I am scrambling to get a parent to join since they do not need to be paid. Sheesh!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you Jen! Everything will work out. :goodvibes

I just got back to my hotel after finishing my Onboarding paperwork. It was nice and quick, and I took my cheeseball ID photo. I don't normally smile so wide, but you can't blame me can you? Now I just have to pass the background check, and then I have Traditions and my other classes scheduled as well! I'll be down in Anaheim "officially" next week, although I'll probably still be in a hotel the first few nights. :woohoo:

I can't wait for everything to be Official!

So, I went for it....I just booked 4 nights at the California Grand in June. I decided I need the splurge. Discounted rates came out today so I saved a little. This will really be our only trip this summer, besides a trip to a wedding that I really wish I could skip, so what the heck I say.

What days? I have a tentative 2 day/1 night trip planned for the 11th/12th

Sarah, that's what first attracted my daughter to Australia. She loves the accent! LOL Which I can understand, but I still wouldn't want to live in Australia, which is now what she's saying she wants to do. I told her if she moves there not to expect any visits from me since I hate flying and sure as heck won't take a 16 hour plane ride!!

Hmmm... maybe that's why she wants to move there. :rotfl: j/k

Hope you are feeling better today.

I am feeling somewhat better today, thanks. One more good night of sleep and I should be back to "normal". LOL

My sister did the exchange student program in high school and went to Australia for a semester. She lived in Melbourne. She came home with the Aussie accent too. LOL

Wow that's expensive. In my days we had drivers training in school.

Me too. Of course that's back in the stone age when MTV showed MUSIC VIDEOS all day and (according to my friends' children) dinosaurs roamed the earth.....

Everything has worked out, but not exactly to my joy - my boss, the principal, will be joining us. Yes, this is the same guy who I get lectured to by week after week. I am nervous about him hovering and monitoring my every move all weekend.

Maybe the Disney magic will take affect quickly!:thumbsup2

Charmama~ Sorry, I missed your name :upsidedow I teach ASL to hearing high school student for their foreign language credits. I am taking 8 of my 10 ASL 3 students and 2 of my 15 ASL 2 students down to the land. It looks like pouring rain here in Sac when we leave Friday....rain+10 teenagers+Disneyland anticpation=:scared1:

Hiya, Charlene here and your upcoming trip sounds adventureous!!!

Dropping in real quick (and with my old SN -- I've been missing my higher post count, is that sad?) to say hi :wave2:

I probably wont be on much over the next few weeks as everything gets settled so I apologize for not catching up on posts I have missed but I wanted to share the good news (although I did just post it on Facebook).

I just got off the phone with my HR who has been handling my transfer request and she heard back from the store I contacted after the first didn't work out and they've approved my transfer! I just have to go fill out the actual store application which I've already been told will be accepted and tada! New store for me. I don't have an official start date yet while they find the best time to get me in but at least I'm not in complete limbo anymore.

:woohoo:

Now it's back to cleaning and packing. I leave early tomorrow morning for Anaheim for a quick trip to get my paperwork with Disney done (Onboarding, they call it) and I'm meeting up with a couple of prospective roommates as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that something will work out and I'll have a place to call home. And since Spring Break season has started I think I may just have to head to Disneyland and squeeze in a showing of Fantasmic ;)

congrats and happy to hear all is going well for you.

I would love a cruise but with the dh  oui, oui mon cheri!!

While I was in line to take my written tests at DMV today there was a teenage boy about to take his test - I felt bad for him because of the rain. It is nervewraking enough as it is.....That's cool, and Acura :) Better than my first car - an 86 Chevy Cavalier red with red interior :rotfl: It was hideous and very quickly destroyed by my friends and I.

Mine was a 1972 Ford pickup blue with a huge busdriver stering wheel!! But boy did I make it look good,

I saw this post then read your updated one, sorry about the change. It does make it more fun though, eh? Policies policies, yadayada.

YUMMY!!

"Video killed the radio star...video killed the radio star..."

Sounds like fun and I say what the heck too - go for it and totally enjoy it :thumbsup2

I know that I will totally have a great time. Now that the shock of the splurge has warn off a little, I'm totally excited about the trip. I'm looking forward to a day at the pool....and waterslide :goodvibes

What a great trip Carol! You all should have a great time. I'm thinking about pulling Madi out of school at the end of September or beginning of October for a weekend trip to the Land.

Congrats on booking the Grand for June! Might as well splurge a bit, right? Will you be there for the CarsLand grand opening?

What days? I have a tentative 2 day/1 night trip planned for the 11th/12th

We'll just miss the CarsLand opening. We will arrive on June 3rd and leave on June 7th. I really want to see CarsLand but I will have to wait awhile because I don't think I could deal with the crowds. :scared1: I can't image what it will be like. Lisa, if your days change let me know. I'd love to hang out.

Neither can we - another cast member in the group is great :woohoo: and exciting.

Woo hoo!!!

Yea for it all working out :cool1:. Is this the same boss that loves Disney too? Mighty suspicious if it is. He just scored himself a Disney trip. He was pretty quick to say no to your other friend/drama teacher. Don't spend to much energy worrying about him. You'll do great!!

Me too. Of course that's back in the stone age when MTV showed MUSIC VIDEOS all day and (according to my friends' children) dinosaurs roamed the earth.....
I used to watch MTV back in the day, used to be good.
Woo hoo!!!

Maybe he can take half the kids and you the other half. Split up and just meet for meals.

Good morning my lovelies! :goodvibes

Jen, have a fantastic time, despite the ole principle hanging around.

Trudi, I am so excited for you. Grandchildren are so precious and fun.

Kerri, Charlene and Andrea, so nice to have you join in.

Jessica, are you soooooooooo excited?

How is our Beth doing?

Today, I am working on designing a Flynn Rider costume. You'd think that there would be a pattern for one. But no! The vest is quite a piece of work. So I am doing the best and easiest I can. It's for Luca. He and my granddaughter Reese are celebrating their second birthdays together as Tangled on April 28th. My girls want the invites to have their pictures dressed as Flynn and Repunzel, so that is why I'm on a roll to get them done now. LOL... Guess who gets to be Mother Gothel at the party? Yep, didn't know that I had an ulterior motive to that villain costume did ya?

Then we are digging out the princess costumes for Sarah,(Cinderella) Becky, (Belle) and Kaitlyn, (Snow White). Not sure yet what Tiff wants to be.
Hopefully the Belle costume is going to fit over Becky's belly. :upsidedow

Bridget, forgot to mention that I loved your expesso shot! No pun extended. :rolleyes1

Also forgot to say that Kaitlyn is going to Australia for 9 months in September for a mission trip. We have given her strict instructions that she is NOT to get involved with anyone over there!!!!

Jen - glad it worked out! Hopefully the principal will be a different person once the magic hits!

Jessica - good luck!! Can't believe it is almost here for you! How exciting!:yay::yay:

Well, my son did not pass his driving test yesterday. :sad1: It was a little irritating. They have the applicants lined up in their cars. There was one car ahead of him and one behind him. As the first car took off, Connor's examiner told him to "follow that car" and the one behind him did the same thing. Unfortunately, the first driver was in the wrong lane to exit the parking lot!! So all three kids were automatically flunked! The lead car was already in the wrong lane when the examiner told him to follow it! She should have just said to exit the parking lot and let him decided what lane! Poor guy has to wait 2 weeks to retake the test.

I have a busy two days coming up. Have to finish my financials to get to my accountant for our taxes. Get everything caught up in the office, laundry, grocery shop and pack for IRELAND!! Can't wait!! Ireland has been on my bucket list for decades!!

No hidden mickey in my cappuccino this morning! Oh well ...

Good morning, ladies! Happy Thursday!

Tonight we are all going to Hannah's school. She got into the National Junior Honor Society and they are doing a little induction ceremony. After we're all going out for pizza, her fave (and mine!), to celebrate. :)

Have a good day, everyone!

Take me to Ireland with you! :yay: Or, at least take lots of photos to share. :)

Well that sounds like a set up if I ever head of one.

I swear, DMV examiners fall in with PE teachers. They are angry and bitter and want to take it out on the young.
:headache:

WHAT?!?!?! That is so not cool!! He did EXACTLY what she said to do, that's not right. grrrrrrrr

I hope you have an amazing time in Ireland, it's on my bucket list too. :) Not surprising considering my name/heritage. :thumbsup2

I would just like to go on record to say that I need this week to be over.....I have way too much going on right now and not enough to do any of it. OMG work in INSANE and my after work chores are just not getting done.......I'm TIRED! I want to go to DLR so I can recharge......:thumbsup2

I am so jealous! Did you go anywhere?

Should at least prove to be an INTERESTING trip, huh?

And no, I didn't go anywhere. And we didn't even get to host a student. An early example of how the golden rays shine down on my sister. LOL
