Ugh, I cannot cook meat. Never have, never will. Other than perhaps ground meat for tacos and such. But if we want chicken I'll go buy a rotisseries chicken. I just can't handle raw meat.

I know a few people with that same opinion.

We never ate chicken growing up, my dad hated it. So that's a whole new world for me. My mom never really taught me how to cook anything other than tuna casserole, scrambled eggs and english muffin pizzas. Boy, wasn't I a prize as a bride? LOL. Everything I've learned to cook has been courtesy of the big, red, Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, Joy of Cooking, Fannie Farmer or, more recently, Food Network, magazines and the internet. The only thing I will NOT do is cook anything that still has a head and guts. My ex wanted to go fishing and I told him I would cook whatever he brought home as long as it looked like it came from the market. No fish heads or guts in my kitchen!

I'm freaking out a little bit, but it also feels a little disjointed. As of right now I have all of this upcoming week off (minus tomorrow) and then my last two days are next Sunday and Tuesday. I am so not prepared to leave just yet. There are still so many people to say goodbye to. Heck, there are quite a few people I haven't even told in person yet because I just haven't seen them! I'm kind of running out of time and I'm getting a little emotional at work these days.

All of my post-HS life has been at this store. I'll feel very weird without it!

Awwww... Hugs! What a huge step and an exciting time for you! (cue Aladdin singing, "A Whole New World")

Aww, I bet. You were there a long time. It's going to feel strange to leave but what a fun, exciting adventure you are starting. I'm sure there will be a few tears though. :grouphug:

Hey, don't downplay the power of the English muffin pizza. Those are good. That makes a good bride in my mind. :thumbsup2

stopping in for a quick hello :)

Hi, Jen!!

Hi everyone!

About that flash mob.....can I be one of the ones to help film it? I am not a dancer or any type of performer, lol.

Jessica, you are making a pretty big change, there is bound to be some emotions that come with it! But you'll be fine, and you have a great adventure ahead of you.

Well, off to watch Rum Diaries! Love Johnny. :lovestruc

Cheryl - forgot to add that I think a talk by your friend would be awesome!

Jessica - good luck! So much fun in store for you (pun intended!)

Jen - hope you are having fun in DL with your students.

And to everyone else - happy Sunday! Hope you set your clocks forward!

Lots of changes for you! Do you have a place to stay in SoCal yet?

I do not like daylight savings time. Have a good Sunday. That is all. :teeth:

LOL - yeah, not my favorite way to lose an hour of sleep either.

Howdy Divas!

Got my yard debris (the last of the trimming and pruning and pulling up dead stuff until the bees are done with my rosemary bush) picked up and hauled the patio chairs BACK into the garage, so I'm ready for a week of rain. We need it. Then, hopefully Spring will arrive and I can get down to business out back!

No other plans today other than a little laundry and cleaning up my table in the craft cave. Hoping to spend some time in there this week while the hubs is gone!

If we had a little pre-function at Trader Sam's plenty of Divas would be ready to dance...

I already know this would work for Jodi. ;) :rolleyes1

Unlike at home where we have "custom" chicken pieces such as wingbacks, breasthighs & drumbacks.:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

LOL! :rotfl:

I just can't handle raw meat.

There are so many directions I could go with this quote, but I'll be good. :rolleyes1

Awwwwww, I can imagine it would feel disjointed and strange. Don't worry, it will all work out.

Well, the spouse supposedly passed his physical today and is supposedly reporting to the main office in Riverside with one other new hire on Tuesday. Supposedly he will fly out Tuesday morning at 6 AM (guess who gets to drive him to the airport at 4:30AM? UGH) and he will fly home Friday evening. I say supposedly because the gal who was supposed to book the airfare today DIDN'T and sent an email late this afternoon that she would book it Monday morning. But she did tell Russ the other day that she was looking at the flights and was planning to book him on one that left at 6 AM so he could get there in time for an 8:30AM meeting. I figured, since the office is in Riverside, that he would fly into Ontario, but nooooooo. The only flight leaving Sacramento at 6AM is going into LAX. Good news is that someone is picking him up at LAX, so he won't have to drive. That would be ugly. So, we continue to wait and see what's happening.

And since I hauled the nice, upholstered, patio chairs out of the garage last weekend, we are due for rain. Like all week. So, tomorrow the chairs go BACK into the garage. SIGH. If it was only going to rain one or two days, I'd just leave them out, but it's looking like EVERY. DAY. for at least 4 days. We need it though. I just wish it had come in JANUARY like it's SUPPOSED to. LOL

Good luck to your dh. already an adventure for him, eh?

So, if we are getting rain late does that mean allergy season will start late as well? My allergies are horrible here!

The only thing I will NOT do is cook anything that still has a head and guts. My ex wanted to go fishing and I told him I would cook whatever he brought home as long as it looked like it came from the market. No fish heads or guts in my kitchen!

I know what you mean. For the kids' birthdays I always cook whatever special dinner they want with a special cake. One year Hunter (then 7yo) wanted fish for dinner. The catch...fish with the head still on :scared1::scared1:. That was the worst!!! Never again.

.

Me too, loved living in Arizona. Didn't have to deal with this craziness!!

No way, Jose. LOL

Hi everyone! The party is over, and I can finally sit down for a few.

Tried to catch up.

I had the honor of meeting Cheryl's friend Joe. What a darling, and so full of life and great fun facts. I am all for having him talk to us!:thumbsup2

Cheryl, Aloha!!! :flower3:

Not too sure about this flash mob idea.... :rolleyes1 LOL! :rotfl:
I do know that Cynthia would be another contender, along with Rochelle. That girl can dance!

Jessica, it's so exciting! Did you find a place to live?

Well, I am brain dead. Can't remember what else I had wanted to say. :upsidedow

Agree. While, I like the additional daylight (notice I didn't say sunlight because we don't have any of that up here ;)) lack of sleep leaves me more :upsidedow than I usually am ;)

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. We have a new gluten free bakery in town. My hubbie is Celiac, so this is a god send for him. We went today and all their stuff is vegan and gluten free. It was actually quite good for not having any dairy or flour in it. :thumbsup2 I know, I should have taken my camera and posted some food shots. Next time...

I have not minded DST. It does suck losing that extra hour, but I love that it's still light out at 7pm! To me it means spring is coming!

I have been having a lazy Sunday. My hubby, son (9 months) and I have been laying around watching Disney movies all day. We've watched Mulan, Lady and the Tramp (in which my son thought the Tramp was the funniest thing in the world), Dumbo and now Tangled. It's' been a good day. :goodvibes

Jen - hope you are having fun in DL with your students.

Thanks, but the trip is next weekend - I never updated my countdown when we had the date change :upsidedow Next weekend is Deaf Entertainers weekend - Marlee Matlin, Matt "The Hammer" Hamill (Deaf MMA fighter), the cast from Switched at Birth, and many other Deaf performers will all be there. We are so excited! They just released the designs for the special ASL/Disney merchandise they will be selling next weekend. They are so cute! You can see them on the Disney blog. Rain is predicted for next weekend and I am hoping the storm stays on course to drive away the crowds.

DId anyone do anything fun this weekend?popcorn::

Ah... well have fun next weekend! I saw photos of the special merchandise - really cute!

My weekend was productive. My son had his last on road driving lesson in preparation for the big driving test on Wednesday!! I will have a teenage boy driving soon! :scared1:

Spent most of today reviewing scholarship applications. I am on the school district foundation board and we award some scholarships to our graduating seniors. Wow - it was hard to choose! Each one was a worthy applicant! But I am very happy with my choice - just wish we could help them all!

We have rain coming in for the week. Cuts down on my walking with my friends and dog but we really need it so I will deal! :lmao:

Hope all the Divas that played MouseAdventure had fun! Let us know how you all did!
