Happy Saturday. Big day for us. Boys and I are headed to a Pokemon Pre-Release tournament. I usually enroll and play, to get more cards for the boys and the last one, I dominated! Yeah Mom:yay:

T

I have a binder full of Pokemon cards from when they first came out. Including some crazy hard to find Charizard (?) card. I should probably put the whole mess on ebay or something. LOL

I'll bring beads, but I will only hand them out to the hot guys that flash....:rotfl: Wonder if Tarzan will be around.....

The Flynn Ryder character can be kinda cute too!

Boring day here today. I was looking for a computer disc that I (still) can't find, but it did prompt me to go thru a boatload of papers, most dealing with my dad's estate and selling of his condo and stuff. I put a bunch in recycling and more in shredding. I think I kept about 25% of it all. It will be 9 years next month that he's been gone and 8 years in May since we sold his place. I also went thru some stuff in our document safe and organized some of that a little better. Still can't find the program disc I need though. SIGH. I got our door sign about half done last night. It's very bling-y. Still need to put our names on it and add some little things, but it looks pretty good.

There is another one, and I can't remember the name either. I went to Total Wine and on the shelf either below or above the Rosa Regale was another wine made from the same grape, which is how I originally found it. It was about the same price, but just a tiny bit sweeter. If you have a Total wine nearby, ask about Rosa Regale, they group all of their wines by the same grape, at least I think that's how they do it!
Went snooping today and found this off of googling. LOL...It took me back to the DIS!

Anywhos, here is one thread I found on Magicale.

Rosa Rogal- Brachetto d' Acqui imported by Banfi

Magicale is Brachetto Piemonte imported by Casa Torelli.

Anthoner DISer found a Casa Torelli Bachetto Piemonte called Abbazia, which is most likely the wine that is rebottled as Magicale.

Does any of this sound familiar?

I had to Google Hilo Hattie. :rolleyes1 Now I want to be sitting on a beach, wearing a brightly colored muumuu, eating chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and watching all the hot surfers.

Sounds lovely, we need a diva trip to Hawaii! Hilo Hatties has a store at The Block at Orange, or at least they did a few years ago, not too far from Disneyland.

Hola chicas!! :cool1:
Does this mean there will be drinking and flashing? :rolleyes1

Drinking is on my "to do" list.:drinking1 No guarantees on flashing (Splash/Flash mountain anyone?) , don't want to scare anyone. :p

And beads!! Who's bringing the beads??

I might... :rolleyes1

mmmmm

Hi everyone, I haven't had a chance to read the 10 pages yet but wanted to say hello! I can't believe that we will be there in 19 days! I am so excited. I want to start packing but keep talking myself out of it. I think I will start when we are 7 days out! Disney here we come!

Wish I had my camera today, the fun part of living in a city (and using mass transit) is you never know what you may see along the way. We had a tap dancing granny today, she came on the bus near downtown (horrible overcrowded ride, I'm sure the driver was not happy) and broke out in a routine right in front of the driver. I think she even had taps on her shoes! Brought a laugh to the crowd and everyone was much happier. :goodvibes

Mall of America had a Red Dress, American Heart event. Beautiful women in gorgeous red dresses doing a little fashion show while the announcer told her story about dealing with heart disease/transplant. You could see the scar line on one lady, just really cool to see.

And the Vikings cheer leaders were there posing for pictures, had to rope in hubby...
Me: honey, I'm hungry let's go
Hubby (ogling): ..but I want that!
Me: what?
Hubby (almost drooling): .. I want that... (pointing at scantily clad cheerleaders).
Me: (sigh) yes dear. (shove, push, pull him along)
:sad2:

 Can ya tell we have been married for like forever?

Then we noticed, they opened a Peeps store.

Yes, really!

A store dedicated to that yellow squishy marshmallow candy that people love to hate. They also had Mike & Ike and Hot Tamale items.
Opening day freebies! Peep hat (dorky yellow foam), meet and greet with a Peep (adorable yellow peep costume character) and samples of candy (mike/ike and tamales). The store smelled like peeps (vanilla if you weren't aware of Peep smells) and they had all kinds of cute Peeps logo items, plus all the different weird shapes (including chocolate covered peeps). We need to go mid week and take pictures of the store decor - very cute and fun!

Forgot to add... We were greeted by a lovely sight of hoar frost this morning.
The park across the street was sooo pretty.. again, wish I had my camera! This is from the St Paul paper.

I dunno about familiar, but it all sounds YUMMY! LOL

When did Teal get relegated to the non-color category? I love teal - it matches my peacock feathers nicely.

It is a fine color, just a little too ambiguous and non-definable. A blue-greenn or green blue, a tiny greener than turquoise.... so since I was having so much frustration with it I decided it was a non color. Red is clearly RED, all sorts of shades. Blue reds, orange reds. Blue can be baby blue, royal blue, navy blue. Teal...teal, not so easy.

Gorgeous photos. Growing up in Ohio I got up one morning super early on a sharp and cold bright blue morning and hiked over to care for my horse where I boarded her. All the trees and everything were rimed with hoar frost like in those photos. My horse had little icicles on her muzzle whiskers. I went for a ride, bareback so I would not be too frozen and it was as if my horse and I were the only two living creatures awake in a snowy hushed cathedral. The only sounds were her hooves squeaking in the snow. Such an amazing morning.

Thanks for bringing that memory so so so sharply back into my mind, Bernice.

Oh, and I love Peeps too. I am one of the few adults I know who eat them. I like to let them get stale and chewy. Eat 'em up yum!!!!

See. I am not just an Irish Gansta.

I have a soft squishy poetic side too.

Just don't turn your back.

Just sayin'.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I love Peeps!!! :) My father in law enjoys them too, Josh hates them though.

I miss the white peeps. They used to do white bunny peeps. Those were my faves. And I like them a little stale too.

Door (or actually window, since we are at Carousel) sign is DONE. Woo hoo!

Carol (and my other villa roomies)~ Would you like me to make our door signs again? And if we don't find two more roomies will we all need to make up the difference?
Jen that would be great if you want to make door signs! Yes, we will all need to split the difference if we don't find at least one more roomie. I will post final details on the FB thread by the end of next week.

Just finished a 60 hour work week in my tax office, but I love it! After next week it should slow down and I can start thinking more about the trip.

That name is not familiar, but the grape is definitely Brachetto, so if you ask for the section where the sweet, red, sparkling wines, that is the grape you want to look for.

You would be my sons best friend. They are obsessed. My step dad gave them my brothers old box of pokemon cards and paraphernalia - they were in heaven.

That's how we started, with my oldest son's collection. Then my youngest son started playing at the local league and I supported him because he was struggling with reading and I thought it might help. (It did, sort of, as he was very interested, but the writing on those cards is like a 5 point and he was later diagnosed with double vision, so I 'm pretty sure he could not read those cards. But I think it served as motivation, and helped make him want to fix his eyes, so he is cooperative with his exercises) But I digress!

Eventually, I had to learn how to play so that I could help him learn at home. My oldest son got interested and started to play, and that was all a year or so ago. Now the boys play competetively, build their own decks and plan and strategize. It's a great game. I have "pokemom" deck and I just play when we are at league night and some kiddo doesn't have anyone to play against. Otherwise I try to use the time to catch up on emails and facebook. My youngest is too little to send on his own yet, with the mixed age group that plays.

So ladies, a unique opportunity has presented itself, and I can't take advantage of it, so I wanted to see if any of you are interested, and I could facilitate it for you.

I can get a two bedroom villa on Feb 25th for a week. The cost is $700. Totally crazy, huh?

Anyhow, if any of you want to change your room for part of the time, even if you only used the room Sat and Sunday, it may make sense, and be an awesome place to stay!

Let me know if you are interested. I would need the full amount to be sent over via paypal as a gift (so no fees) by noonish in order to confirm this.

If this was for the 3rd or 4th week of October, I'd jump all over it! :yay:

Maybe that great deal is a sign that YOU should come down for part of the girls trip. ;) ::yes::

haha! Your funny! I am actually working on getting together a group and if I can, then we may come down for all or part of that week. I would have my youngest with me though, as that really was my main challenge, so might be able to join you all here or there or at least say high, but wouldn't be able to join the trip. dang it!

We'll see....
