Good morning, ladies!! :goodvibes

Today is free cone day at Ben and Jerry's! Just an FYI for all the ice cream lovers out there.
IceCreamSmiley.jpg

We are taking the kids tonight to the one in the Red Rock casino food court. It's nice there but almost never crowded.

And maybe, just maybe, if I can pull up my wimpy boot straps and get to it....I'll get our taxes done. Usually I do them early, but this year I suck, plain and simple. :headache: :rolleyes1
Boo to taxes. Not fun at all. :sad2:

I know most of you saw her on Facebook but here she is: Violet Star.

232323232%7Ffp43589%3Enu%3D3236%3E478%3E%3A58%3EWSNRCG%3D34%3C5657247326nu0mrj
Awww, she's just so precious. :cutie:

Oh c'mon, you're being too generous. She's not slightly crazy, she's a wackadoo...... and her name is Betty :rolleyes1
Um, don't you have some work to do? :rolleyes1
:p

I took Laila when she was 4 weeks old. I think she had a blast . We also took her to WDW when she was 3 months old and she swears she remembers going :confused3. I think it's just because she looks at the pictures all the time.
Wow! 4 weeks! Now that's dedication. LOL
I took Adam on a road trip to Laughlin when he was 2 weeks, but I was nervous the whole time. New mom and all.

I just said to myself, I need to start watching Groupon to see if anything cool pops up before we leave! :) I love Groupon!
For Vegas, we find some of the best deals on the radio shopping show. http://www.kshp.com/catalog/index.asp?sType=shoppers
It's free to be a member, and you don't have to be local. You can pick up tickets once you arrive or have them mailed out. Click on the shoppers guide and then pick which category you want. Everything from show tickets, to restaurants, and recreational activities. We use them a lot for discounts.

I love the heat. Can I trade you? We are at 6 degrees, which I believe is 42 in f (I googled! Haha). But I would love the heat, as long as there is AC in the house. I like the heat outside, but not in the house.
Sure, let's trade! I hate the heat. Why I live here? Who knows! lol
Everything does have air conditioning though so that's nice. Except the bill. We turn on our A/C in May and it runs 24/7 until around October. :scared1:

Yeah, that's what usually happens. I was going to get some cute wedding favors that could be altered into something cute, but they were on sale already. SIGH.
I hate that. Every time I have a coupon all the things I want are already marked 25-35% off so I can't use it.

Anybody else have Easter plans?
Your plans sound fun! It's going to be just us here. We'll do an egg hunt, and I always do clues for the kids to find their baskets. Then we'll probably go out for breakfast this year. I usually make a big brunch, but this year.....I'm lazy. ;)

Looks like Beth..... LOL
:lmao: :thumbsup2

Plus if it was small groups, it would also be manageable , but I had about 18 teens at my house this Saturday!!!
Oh, hell no. That would not happen here. I'd kick them all out. :rotfl2: That many would make me nuts. You are a far better woman than I.

Beth, I don't plan on waiting until she is 6 months to take her to Disneyland. It's got to be much sooner than that.:goodvibes I plan to go in a couple weeks and get some cute clothes. It was terrible not knowing the gender, I kept looking at all the cute stuff at DL and couldn't buy anything.
Aw, happy shopping! You're going to make an awesome Grandma, Trudi. :goodvibes

I love to do things in my own backyard. It's funny, lived in So. Cal. practically all my life and it took me moving away to do all those touristy things!:confused3
That's one thing I miss about growing up in SoCal. We were always taking little road trips, even sometimes just for the day. Up to Mt. Wilson, to Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, Santa Monica, etc. Nothing but desert here.
Then again, with the traffic and high gas prices, I guess even if I was still in SoCal I probably wouldn't be doing much driving. :sad2:

Get grandma to come up and take care of the kids while hubby and I go off BY OURSELVES!!!!!!!

So ladies, I need your help. I'm pretty sure we will go in May, for 4 days. One of those afternoons we want to serve at a soup kitchen, but the rest of the time...:confused3
I've only been to San Fran once and it was a couple years ago, so I'm not much help. But, I just wanted to say have a great kids-free time!!! :cool1: Hope you get lots of tv watching time in. :happytv: :rolleyes1 (that's Diva code for...well, you know)

The rent credit for caretaking duties will cut over HALF off our monthly rent! :yay::woohoo::dance3: Wow! YES!!!

Ahhhhhh, my monthly budget sighs in relief and the savings account (including my diva vacation fund) gets a little bigger. :thumbsup2
I said this on FB but I am very happy for you!! That's great! :)

Morning all. Everyone must be at work or off doing something fun (hopefully ;) )

Charma we live fairly close to the city and go at least once a year. There is tons of fun stuff. There is a GREAT new museum in Golden Gate Park. It is the CA Academy of Sciences and it is in the same spot as the old one but they updated it and it is pretty cool! Has an indoor rainforest, planetarium and lots of other fun stuff. There is also the De Young museum across the street which I believe is art and such. Haven't been there in years. They have the botanical and japanese gardens there so you could spend a whole day just in the park. :) They have a GREAT zoo and it is right by 101 and the beach so that is also fun. Then there is Union Square with tons of great shopping if you can get your dh to go for that ;) There are lots of great restaurants in North Beach and of course the whole wharf/Pier 39. And then there is Beach Blanket Babylon. Probably other plays as well. I saw Phantom there many years ago and the theater was really cool and old. Just some ideas. Oh and the Disney museum at the Presido!! :) Have fun!!

Free ice cream day sounds fun!! I don't think we have any more B&J shops in our town though. The only two I ever saw one closed and the other was downtowm, too far to go for a cone. ;) Bummer too cuz I LOVE their ice cream!!

Enjoying our break so far and esp sleeping in although between the cats, my neighors and everything else I never seem to be able to LOL. Been trying to find fun things for the girls and I to do but like Beth money is always a factor so looking for fun "free" stuff or close to free. ;)

Shelby has a birthday party Friday night and it is the girls weekend with their dad so going to be on my own till Sunday but then he is bringing them over for easter at my mom's so that is our plans for the weekend.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day!!

Very cool! Thanks for that!! I went to Groupon and saw a "deal" for Kahunaville, thought that might be fun for Mom, clicked on it and it was sold out.......lol
Free cone day would be fun, but there's not a B&J's close enough to go to. Oh well.
Busy week already, it can slow down anytime, both at work and home. man, it's been crazy!
this weekend we are going to Micah's Great-Uncle's birthday, so that's where we will be for Easter. We will drive home that day, not sure what time exactly, not even sure exactly what the plan is while we are there.....but it's family so you gotta do it right? lol

We have the heat on from about Oct-April, so it's a fair trade!

I wish we had Ben & Jerry's here! They sell their ice cream in some of the grocery stores here, but no actual B&J ice cream shops. Sigh.

Anybody else have Easter plans?
We'll go out for brunch. A few years ago we all got tired of cooking.

We don't have one but used to go to Baskin Robbins on their free night. We'd wait in line over an hour. Those days are long over. A store would have to be giving away something really good for me to wait that long !
Aw, happy shopping! You're going to make an awesome Grandma, Trudi. :goodvibes

Thanks ! Gotta admit shopping for girl clothes is a bit more fun than shopping for boy clothes.

First of all, a really big congrats to Grandma Trudi, and Auntie Sarah. Violet Star is just adorable! Have fun spoiling her!!! :cloud9:

Charlene, Look into staying at the Villa Florence. Right smack dab in the middle of Union Square. Great service, and the restaurant right by the hotel lobby is absolutely fabulous, called Kuletos. It also a little counter service in the front, that serves fresh sandwiches, breakfast, fruit tarts, pastries, and so on. Wonderful caprese sandwiches. The chocolate cannoli from the restaurant are divine. So good that I have tried to find a copy cat recipe. I could go on. I have to admit that most of the time I have been in San Fran, it was to shop. but I have seen some good plays, and have done the touristy thing also. Have fun!!

Katie, Having the kids at your house is wonderful, cuz you know where they are. But, I can see how it is having it's toll on you. The kids must like you and feel comfortable to want to stay with you. So maybe you can set some rules. Tell them that you like having them over, but you and Laila need your sleep. Give them some boundaries. 18 kids is just too much!!!Way too hard to keep track of! !! That's just plain nuts! Not to mention the food you are going through! :scared1::scared1::scared1: Anywhos, giving advise is easy. Being able to actually follow through and doing it is hard. And you have probably given this plenty of thought already. Big hugs to you. You are doing a great job so far as a single mom. Keep your chin up.

Bernice, Yay for your rent going down! :yay: I hope that with your weather getting clearing up, :goodvibes that Eloy starts to feel better! :flower3:

Beth, No Ben and Jerry's by us either! :sad2:

Congrats Trudi and Sarah~ Little Violet is so beautiful!!! You will be broke very soon buying her lots of goodies!

Drama cannot follow me around forever, right?! I just learned last night that my DH kissed another girl a few months back. He swears that was all it was and he never saw or spoke with her again. I want to forgive him, but is that stupid of me?! We are going to start counseling, but I am so sick with worry about us. He says he doesn't deserve me, but I cannot stand the thought of losing him. Ugh....has anyone else been through this and can offer some advice?

MomtoXPrincess99 and VintageDisneyRules, congratulations!!

I can't believe that I turn 17 next month. One more year until I'm old enough to be a diva :woohoo:

Happy Tuesday, Divas!!

Seeing the baby pics *almost* makes me want to go there again..... almost. I just love babies!

Bernice - congrats on the position and the lower rent. Those are both good things :woohoo:

Um, don't you have some work to do? :rolleyes1
:p

Nope, I'm free to be as obnoxious and rude as I want to be :thumbsup2 Yay me!!! Do you miss me yet, huh, huh, huh, do ya???? :hyper:

We'll go out for brunch. A few years ago we all got tired of cooking.

That is absolutely brilliant. I've tried going out to eat on a holiday, but my boys pout so much that it's not any fun. They love my cooking and it's just not the same going out. Brunch I think would be fine though, right??? Plus I deserve a little treat. I've been working way too much lately!!!

Jen, I haven't been through this, but I'm really sorry that you are going through it now. You know your husband and your relationship, so you have to figure out what's going on and what you need to do. Counseling together is a great first step. There has to be a reason it happened - was it just a random stranger passing in the night or someone he knew/knows? In any case, big hugs for you and I hope everything works out for the best with your relationship

How am I doing you ask??? Well, I'm tired. Really, really tired. Starting a new "part time" job that has been full time so far is kicking my old hiney. It is nice to get out of the house though and when I can slow it down a bit, I think I'll feel a lot better (and once I get to my shift - next week!!).

It was a girl from a class he took last semester - and she knew he was married. I don't know how much of the situation I can believe, but I want to believe the best. Thanks for the support.

Anyways, I feel you on the tiredness...Naps have been my best friend this past week. You should squeeze one in too.

Aw Jen- so sorry you have to go throug this. Counseling is the way to go - maybe ask your pastor for a recommendation. Just make sure it is someone that you feel comfortable with and trust your instincts! You have to do what is right for you. Much hugs and kisses to you - let me know if I can help you in any way.

Thanks! Just 18 years before I can take her on a Diva Trip !

I just might be getting my first Dooney. I really like this one. So, should I treat myself?

Jen I am so sorry that that happened to you. I agree counseling is a good idea and I hope you find someone that you like. Good luck!!

Trudi I saw those yesterday on the Dis Blog. LOVE it!! I haven't always liked all their styles but I LOVE the retro. I may have to drop a hint since we are going around my birthday. Would LOVE to have a wristlet or one of the small bags in that style. I think you should DEF splurge and get yourself one!! ;)

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Hump Day!

We have the heat on from about Oct-April, so it's a fair trade!
Yep, that's how it was when we lived in Michigan. Heat was on for several months, and we hurried when walking from the car into the store or the house. Sort of the same here but during the summer it's the A/C and we hurry to get into the cool store or house. lol

We'll go out for brunch. A few years ago we all got tired of cooking.
:thumbsup2 Cooking sucks. :rolleyes1 I'm over it. lol

Oh Jen. I am so sorry. I don't really know what to say other than I hope it all works out for you. I'd be devastated if I found out Ruben kissed someone else.
Sounds like counseling is definitely needed. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you and he can move past this and become stronger than ever.

I saw this on FB. I like it. Really cute!! You totally deserve it! A "new Grandma" present. ;)
Sadly, I don't see myself ever toting a D&B around. I am so hard on my purses. Throwing them around and leaving them on the floor. I have a $35 purse I got from Kohls two years ago and I'll keep that until it falls apart.

Jen, I am so sorry you're going through that.

I wish I could offer advice, but I don't have any experience with something like this. Like others have said, counseling is a great idea. And maybe just spending a lot of quality time together, having those heart-to-hearts, could help.

Of course you should treat yourself! Celebrate! :cheer2:
