Thanks for that tip! I'll definitely do that when I go at the end of July!

Good morning, Divas! Here's to hoping I have a productive day in the craft cave. I'm at the 37 day mark until Convention and I have NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, SQUAT done. NOT. GOOD. I've *got* to make some progress this week or come next Sunday when I hit the one month mark, I'm gonna completely FREAK. OUT. :scared1: For reals. LOL Of course, last night I was going to head in there and I got distracted on this time sucker known as the DIS and instead ended up reading Laurie's 46 page PTR. :surfweb: And my stamping friends wonder WHY I don't have a computer in the craft room..... :rolleyes1

We've lost the "gale force winds" we had yesterday, but the whole area is under a Red Flag fire warning. It's still breezy and the temp is going to be up 10 to 15 degrees from yesterday. Bleh. We're looking at, or close to, 100 later in the week. Double bleh.

Have a great day!

Thank goodness those winds have died down! I kept watching our poor little trees bending in the "breeze"! Yep .... Monday and Tuesday are going to be hot ones .... time for a little trip up to Tahoe! DH gets his stitches out on Tuesday so I think we'll head up there for a couple of days to celebrate!

yowza! That sounds painful! Maybe now you can get a gold grill....they are so stylish right now :rotfl:

So, I just applied for a few business jobs within the Disney Corporation. I technically qualify, but since I have never worked in the business sector, only retail and education, I am unsure if they will even call me. Please send me your prayers and pixie dust! The DH basically said that since I am the one with the degree, it is up to me to find the lucrative job that will move us (and I really want to move closer to DL!)
HOW COOL!!! That would be SO fun!
OMGGGGGG!!! I just died of cutness overload..ahhhhh!! The cake was awesome but the birthday boy was just too perfect for words..awwwww !!

I'm such a sucker for kids , lol.

Work was so relaxed tonight it definitely was a change from the last few weeks/months , and I am NOT complaining. That and our random audit was done when I had my days off ( YES!) and is done with another year makes me a super happy camper. Now to get through 4 more days of work..and theeeeeen....DISNEYLAND. I'm not excited or anything

YAY! How fun! We leave in.. ummmmm....oh snap.. 8 days? 9? EEIIIIII!!!

I have been horrible at keeping up this last week. But everything is a bit calmer now, so I should be better. Yesterday was the memorial "going away party" for my MILs husband. I drove to Modesto for the day and then home in the evening, 3 hours each way, exhausting. Wish I could have stayed, her nephew's partner was just distributing margaritas at the house when I left, he's an amazing bartender and I wanted so badly to bring him home with me. It was a beautiful service, and I'm so glad I went, just wish my ex-husband would at least call his mother. What a jerk.

Anyway, I tried to read through what I missed and I think I just confused myself even more. But I will attempt to comment:

50 Shades of Grey: Not gonna read it. I hate romance novels (except for Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskill). Anything racier or more recent than Pride and Prejudice is just not my bag. Occasional sex scenes in novels isn't a big deal, but I just don't do girly porn. Besides, I still haven't started Hunger Games.

Tie-dye: I'm down. I don't own anything tie-dye, but I have buckets and can buy some Rit dye at a moment's notice.

Lime green and other shirt colors: I own a lime green t-shirt, but need to lose 10lbs if I want it to meet the top of my pants. Although with the redneck theme that might work... I don't wear pink. Ever. Do I have to?

Stars: I'm confused on this one, musta missed something.

Birthdays: Happy belated to Sarah and Oh Em Gee, how cute is that munchkin and his Mickey cake? Nicely done.

I think that catches me up, but feel free to yell at me if I've missed something.

Afternoon everyone!! Andrea happy birthday to your little cutie!! Love the cake!

We have had a very productive and fun weekend and next weeks looks to be fun as well.

Yesterday we had a tri-meet which is 3 teams and it was NUTS. The wind was so bad people's tents were flying away and our team lost 6 of them. EEK! And it was cold in the morning and then got hot towards the afternoon and I got so sun/wind burned. The awesome part is Katy's 200 free relay team not only got first again but they broke a record that had been standing since 1996. SO excited for them!! Katy is also really close to breaking her record in the 50 free. Came home and a HUGE limb broke off one of our trees. For those that don't know my ex had his truck parked under one of our large elm trees the 15 months he was in Iraq then came home and had yet to get it registered and the tree lost a giant limb that completely flattened the truck. So I don't park anywhere near it and I was parked in an open spot but the limb that fell yesterday was SO big that it just barely missed my car. (scared!!!) So I am just glad the bad wind is over for now but I have a HUGE mess to clean up.

Tomorrow is Shelby's 5th grade promotion and Katy is skipping her last day so she can go. Then she got in to a college program this summer so we are taking her for her tour of Sac State on Wed and Thurs we are going to see Wicked. So it is going to be a fun and busy week.

And we have 2 weeks from today till our vacay so super excited about that.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend.

Stars????? Hmmmmmmmmm

Ooooh, yeah. I should also remind everyone that contrary to what the ever forgetful Capri said, the M&G theme is my birthday party - woo hoo!! No exchange necesssary, just bring me gifts!! It's gonna be EPIC!!!!!
Your birthday?? I believe you meant OUR birthday!

I just had a 4 hour shift this morning so it's nice to actually be at home on a Sunday with the kids. We're heading to my moms for dinner to celebrate my brothers grad and my sisters 21st birthday, should be fun. With just siblings and spouses we have 19 people:scared1:

I love all the pictures from Cars Land, keep them coming!

yowza! That sounds painful! Maybe now you can get a gold grill....they are so stylish right now :rotfl:
Gold grill. nope, don't think so. The tooth has no pain at all. I don't even have a fear of pain when it's pulled because my dentist has the strongest novacain in the world, he told me so and it's true! I had a tooth pulled before.
Tonight is our annual Jello Flop with our youth group. We have a 10x7 foot pool and 330 gallons of jello to flop in! This is going to be so awesome!!!

That does not sound fun to me at all.:rotfl: What flavor jello?

Hahaha. Don't be scared- just go with the colorful flow ;)
And we have 2 weeks from today till our vacay so super excited about that.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend.
us too! Where are you going? I may have missed that.
That does not sound fun to me at all.:rotfl: What flavor jello?
All flavors!!! They were all made separately and then dumped together in the pool. It was awesome. The pictures are on my Facebook page :)

Today is the "county fair" for Tahoe's third grade class- we made vegan snickerdoodles for his fair entry and they are so delicious! We were all saying how they tasted better than regular snickerdoodles.

Man, two weeks until our trip and I planned so much. I still don't think we are ready because I am so anxious about the crowds that will be there. DH gets very nervous in large crowds after his military service. Is there a guest assistance pass for that?! Haha

Good morning, ladies!! Monday already?? Hope you all had a great weekend.

Hi Ladies!! :wave2: We're having a BBQ for Derek today.....he boards his plane tonight for the Disney College Program at WDW.
Best of luck to him!! :wizard:

Success!!! I found a lime green t-shirt at Target this morning. Now just waiting for my next color search. Too bad most of my clothing is either white or black! :scared1:
Yay! That's a start. :thumbsup2

I think the cake was a hit with the birthday boy! We had a great day, and everything turned out perfect. :lovestruc
So cute!! I loved all the pics you posted on FB. Glad it was a great day.

Oh we went to 5 Guys for lunch...OMG so good!!!! It's going to be dangerous having that so close to home....haha!
We have a Five Guys, a Smash Burger and an In-n-Out all not too far from us. Not good!!!!!! lol

I found out today why my tooth is moving. The roots have completely separated so each root is moving away from the other. There is no fix for this so it has to be pulled. Other than that it was a pretty good day. Nice weather for some yard work. My tomatoe plants are doing so good. Can't wait for them to ripen to make salsa.
Oh no, sorry about needing a tooth pulled. I've had two of them pulled before and it was not fun. :( I still haven't been able to replace the missing teeth with implants because my insurance doesn't cover those and they are $2500 each! :scared1:

Do you have a good salsa recipe you can share?

So, I just applied for a few business jobs within the Disney Corporation. I technically qualify, but since I have never worked in the business sector, only retail and education, I am unsure if they will even call me. Please send me your prayers and pixie dust!
Good luck!!!! :wizard:

I went to to the CarsLand preview yesterday with my DD. It was amazing.
Sounds great! Thank for sharing your experience. I won't see it until October and I can't wait!

Funniest thing ever!! :lmao:

Your birthday?? I believe you meant OUR birthday!
Theresa doesn't like to share.... :sad2:

Ugh. Yesterday was awesome. Today did not start off well. I completely overslept and forgot to move my car. Normally not a big deal except it's street sweeping day. Oh joy. It sounded like they only got 2 SUV's on the street for tickets so I'm crossing my fingers. I really do NOT have that money to spare right now.

Lime green and other shirt colors: I own a lime green t-shirt, but need to lose 10lbs if I want it to meet the top of my pants. Although with the redneck theme that might work... I don't wear pink. Ever. Do I have to?
::yes::

You must. It's required. :rolleyes1

;)

Just kidding. No one has to wear anything they don't want to. But, it's fun for the photos if the group matches, or at least coordinates. For example, if the color was blue, there are different shades of blue. We don't have to match exactly.

**INFO for ALL ladies, especially those who are new to the group:

The pink shirt in question is actually our group tee from last year. Those were all ordered from the same place so they did match. We always do one new matching group shirt every year. The pink one is really pretty. My favorite of all the shirts thus far.
Melody/tinkermell did a great job designing (along with her son) and decorating it. Everyone who wore them in the parks got compliments. At least, I know I did.

Since they were such a hit, we are planning on using them again once more for the next trip. She has some extras for those interested in ordering one. If you don't want to order one from her, but you still want to coordinate that day, you can just wear pink. If you don't want to wear pink, you can just wear whatever color you'd like.

Again, the t-shirt colors are just suggestions, meant only to be fun. Also, it does make it a bit easier to spot members of the group in the parks knowing what color shirts to look for.

So, it looks like so far for next year we have:
lime green (traditional)
our pink group tee from this past trip
whatever new group tee we come up with

We only need two more colors! :cool1:

In the past we've done teal, red, purple, blue, brown, tie dye, black, white, aqua. Hmm. What am I missing....

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share! The sooner we can pick colors, the sooner everyone can start keeping an eye out for shirts they like (as well as sales!), especially with all the cute summer tees out now.

We do try to find colors that work for everyone, however with a group of between 45-60 ladies, that's basically mission impossible!! :rotfl: That's why it's optional. If a color get chosen you hate... you don't have to wear it. :)

I hope you didn't get a ticket and I hope your day improves!

I'd like to do a blue shirt. I've only got a million of them. LOL Red or maroon would be nice. Chocolate brown? That might make a nice "official group shirt" color as it's a good background color. I can wear anything but yellows, oranges, and yellow greens. If we pick those, I'll just wear one of my Disney printed shirts that has that color somewhere in it (like how I wore my World of Color tee this year since it has lime green on it- LOL).

I will suck it up and wear pink, I'd hate to look like a sore thumb. I may have something around here from think pink day/relay for life (the only occasion that I have ever worn pink before). If not I will either go shopping (oh noes! Hurt my feelers and make me shop!) or get with Mel.

I vote for emerald green for one day. It's my favorite color. :thumbsup2

Oh! And it's official, I am going to Disneyland on the 1st! My job keeps getting pushed back, so no start date yet. I have to be in Paso Robles on the 6th for annual training, which is the day we planned to leave DL anyway. So instead of riding the charter bus for 8 hours with a bunch of stinky Soldiers I'll meet them at the training site in my car. Yay!

ADORABLE!!

I have a few extra pink shirts from last year if you are interested. Not sure what size you need, but if you or any other newbie here is, just give me a PM, and I'll look at what I can do
Theresa, can I just say how much I enjoy your humor, but more important of all, is that you are coming next year! Yay!:yay:

PM is being sent. :)

I found out today why my tooth is moving. The roots have completely separated so each root is moving away from the other. There is no fix for this so it has to be pulled. Other than that it was a pretty good day. Nice weather for some yard work. My tomatoe plants are doing so good. Me too!!!! My big tomatoes aren't doing much but getting bigger so far, our pear tomato (leftover from last year) is amazing!!! But you can't really use those for salsa. BUT I DO have carrots coming up, sugar snap peas (which may not do well because we planted them late :( ) coming up and my cucumbers are alive, my bell pepper has flowered and is working on a pepper and my jalapeno has a pepper on it!! YAY!!!! I'm so excited! I love homemade salsa, I always try to buy some bulk tomatoes and make some.

LOL! This is a classic quote! :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:
I'm Still giggling over it!

Oh Theresa.....?? popcorn::

Glad I could make ya smile :)

The In & Out is just a bit farther than the Five Guys, but I much preferred the Five Guys, I just thought it tasted so much better!! The girls are already planning a trip for us all to go. lol

Well, my favorite color is purple, so I vote for purple! :) ;)

So last night was the first official all ages country night, I taught a dance called Outlaw, my class was HUGE, it was so big I had to have them make more lines!!! OMG it was so amazing! lol We did the class and then later did the dance and everyone did a great job!! I emailed Danny (the bar manager) and told him how great it was and if he wanted me to teach more Sundays to let me know, so I am now on board to teach on Sundays and Mondays! :) $50 a week extra if I teach both nights! Woo-Hooooo! :) Sundays are a ton of fun, because there's no drama, and you just get to dance and dance and dance! Micah went, he rarely goes anymore because he doesn't like the drama and the crowds, he had a great time last night tho, danced a lot. He told our friend Amy that he was tired and out of shape and she said "maybe you need to come more" and he said "ya, that would probably help" lol So I need to pick 2 dances for the Sunday in June, then I need to get a plan together for July and get it submitted. I have some new dances on tap that I'd like to learn so I'm also going to give those a try. :)

I'm not a huge pink fan, but I'll wear it. :) I like emerald green tho!!! Nice choice!

I vote blue, Stitch blue, hehe. ;)

I sent a PM to Melody, in hopes she still has some pink shirts left. They were so nice! I don't really look good in pink, but i'll wear it for a day.

We just got a Five Guys here in Red Deer a few months ago. It is pretty good. Expensive though. It cost the 2 of us $25 to eat. But next time maybe we will just order to go, and just find something to drink here at home. That might help.

We also tried In N Out last August while we were in California, and it was pretty yummy. We would like one of those here.

I'd like to do a blue shirt. I've only got a million of them. LOL Red or maroon would be nice. Chocolate brown? That might make a nice "official group shirt" color as it's a good background color.
I like blue. It's easy and there are many shades, so it would work for most everyone. We did blue before, but it was early on. I think our second trip, so we could consider doing it again.

We did chocolate brown the first year. The shirts had a pink design and it worked really well together. ::yes::

I vote for emerald green for one day. It's my favorite color. :thumbsup2
I love emerald green. It's so pretty and one of those rare colors that looks good on most everyone. But, I don't see much of it in the stores. It might be hard to find. :confused3

If you, or anyone else, wants to order last year's pink tee from Mel, you should do it fast. I know she ordered some extras, but I'm not sure how many.

Well, my favorite color is purple, so I vote for purple! :) ;)
We wore purple on this last trip. :upsidedow The purple castle tees that were our group shirt from 2011. So, we'll probably retire those. I know mine can't be worn again. It was beautiful but sadly didn't hold up well in the wash. :( :sad2:
If I'm not mistaken, I think what we've been doing is carrying over one group tee from the year prior, and then one new group tee to mix with the colored tees. Does that make sense? :rotfl:

I can't wait to wear the pink one again. The decorations Mel added were just so amazing.

I thought so, too! It's good, but when the 6 of us went, we spent over $40. And that was sharing fries and ordering one drink. That's kind of a lot for a basic burger restaurant. In-n-Out is so much cheaper.

I hate pink but last year's shirt was just too perfect! I loved wearing it and we were a sight, lol.
