:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: That is so something i would do!! Heck.. I might. I mean, they have no issues waking the twins up butt early in the morning.... so I have to get up with them.
:thumbsup2

Yay about the Diva trip I'm super excited to go and it's still months away. Hoping to get to know people a little better before then too.
Like Jessica said, there is lots of time. The Meet and Greet at the start of the trip really helps, too.

Thanks for the encouraging words .... as a first timer I've also had concerns ... but on the other hand everyone seems so nice and fun I'm sure it'll be a wonderful trip! :thumbsup2
It's going to be great! And I am so glad we have a couple fun new ladies, like yourself, who've decided to join in!

I AM going this year. and I am SOO looking forward to it!:cool1: Love me some disneyland!!
Megan, I am so glad you are going to make it!! :cool1: I still remember meeting you that first trip. It's been too long!

How about Heather Graham? She wrote a 3 book series on the Civil War that I really liked. "One Wore Gray"One Wore Blue" and "One Rode West". :thumbsup2

I have those!!!!! What about Teresa Medeiros, I love her stuff too!! :)

And this is what I found after starting packing earlier today...

Corona disapproves of our vacation :lmao:

OMG that is way too cute!!!! LOL I love cats, they are so quirky! :)

We always say its sorta sci-fi victorian... Its honking cool though. I was just telling my husband I would dress like that everyday if I could too! He's all... It would kinda get in the way when your trying cook and clean and stuff though wouldnt it? I told him he would have to get me a girl to do all that for me. :lmao::lmao:

I love the Steampunk look, but I don't really think I could pull lit off daily. I mean I can't at work, my second job is at a country bar so it won't work there, maybe on weekends but I just don't know. I look at it all the time tho and think I could make the BEST Halloween costumes with some of it. :) Pin up girl clothes too, LOVE them!!!!! :)

You ladies out there are probably going to laugh, but when I get to those parts, I literally skim over them. Too much for me. But i do love them for the story, the hunky hero, the heroin, time period and so on. Most of the time, you know the outcome with these books, but I am a romantic at heart.

When I was looking over the book "Fifty Shades of Grey" to see if was

I will not laugh, I do the same thing sometimes. :) Sometimes I want to read about love and romance but not the "other stuff".....hahaha, I have a couple of authors you might really enjoy. My Mom turned me onto Deanna Raybourne no "other" stuff at all in her books, just the suggestion, we have very much enjoyed her series with Lady Julia Gray in them and in fact, I have Deanna on my FB friends list. :) Candice Hern, she writes Victorian romances, love them!! Christie Craig, she writes modern romances, they are funny and not too heavy. :)

Kerri yes I got the Tahitian and I LOVE it.

We have too much in common.....LOL And I'm excited for Ghiradelli too! :)

Sounds like a busy time coming up but DL with your DH should be worth the effort ;)

I LOVE those purses and have been trying to talk the hubby into one myself..no luck yet..but my birthday is in July..hmm :yay:

Yay about the Diva trip I'm super excited to go and it's still months away. Hoping to get to know people a little better before then too.

Well this will be my first actual Diva trip. Now, I've met some of the Diva's at the park and I've got many on my FB friends list and I was one of the first people that Beth ran the idea past but I've never done an actual Diva Trip. I am beyond excited!!!!! :) We've got lots of time to get to know each other!! :)

I'm so happy it is finally Friday!!! :) I think I may go see a tattoo artist tomorrow about a tattoo I want, I need to see if he can help me with the final design and I need a quote so I can start saving. :) It's not going to be huge, I just can't decide where to get it. If not I'll wait for my friend who also wants a tat so she can talk to the guy about getting one as well. :) We are going to BBQ Sunday so I'll spend some time tomorrow getting some stuff ready, we will just do burgers and dogs this time. Then we will practice some line dances with the kids (doing that tonight too) and it's all ages dancing at the Grad, I'm teaching at 8:30, we will stay for a while after that. Should be a fun weekend!!

Me too. I also have a Nook and Kindle app on my phone and tablet, so I'm never without something to read. I've never heard of these series of books that include 50 Shades of Grey. I'm always looking for new things to read, and I like romance, but I don't like explicit sex in books  (leave me at the bedroom door please), so are these books G rated or X or somewhere in between?
Definitly x! It is VERY detailed and graphic.
I don't think there's anything silly about it , I actually hate romance novels and never actually read them..but this series has been all over my FB and become such a hot topic of debate - mostly because of the extent of the content related into it. It pushes my buttons in particular because the writing is just not what I would consider good and the way the content is displayed and portrayed - the community I am involved in is also upset over it because it glamorizes things that isn't for everyone.

I know it's just a book but it's one that I don't think anyone under 18 should be allowed to read without parental consent and someone to put it into perspective and proper context. It's nothing "new" really , this has been out there for generations but as the years go by it seems it's less about subtlety and more about shock value. To me these books are just erotica - something that has been around forever , and is all fine and good - but lacks any actual backbone to support it. I personally dislike all the attention the books are getting but it's just a personal issue with it. Whenever books like this get out in the "open" - it fills the streets and bedrooms with people that think they can do anything with anyone , and that is where the real danger lies.
Fantasy is great -but it's called fantasy for a reason. Now i'm on a tangent..sorry about that , lol.

I've read some great books in the past that will hint to relationships or encounters without giving express details or turning into being too much. I much prefer that with my imagination to run wild than things to be spelled out to me piece by piece.;)
The writing is not fantastic, but I do think it sounds like a 24 year old girl who has never had, um, relations :upsidedow The special scenes more or less give me ideas to share with my husband, but that's about it haha.

Speaking of him, we went on another hike today in Auburn and found a ton of waterfalls. It was a 4 mile hike and so pretty! DH had the Camelback on and threw it down when we arrived home. Now the kitties are obsesed with it and rubbing the back of it where his sweat was- yuck!

Oh! Target has lime green cowl-neck shirts on sale for $9. I bought the top in 3 other colors since they are so flattering. Just thought I would throw that out there for ladies needing a Day 1 shirt!

Happy Friday ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. Finally a little calmer around here but that won't last long!

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that we will be dropping some hints soon on the Scavy Hunt theme!! So make sure you know who is on the committee and read their comments!! ;) I know we have a lot of Stars in this group who just loving guessing games!! :cool2:

Have a great weekend ladies! And to all the Divas going for AP/CM previews - can't wait for your posts!!

I agree. You all sound so nice and fun. I'm excited to meet you all--a little scary but exciting . I'm starting to learn about a lot of you from your posts. That's fun.

Definitly x! It is VERY detailed and graphic.

Well I guess I'll cross that off my list. I like having my own adventures in the bedroom :rolleyes1 but not reading about others :scared: To me these kinds of books are to females what porn is to men--not my thing.

I'll look into these authors. I've had to stick with Jane Austin to get clean romance. I love Austin, but it would be nice to have others too. I love so many types of books. I read everything from romance to history and non-fiction and everything in between. Some of my favorites include: Atlas Shrugged, Tale of Two Cities, Les Miserables, Fountainhead, Twilight series (the books not the movies :rotfl:), Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, 1776..........too many to count.

Hmmm, something with astronomy? Or astrology? Or Dancing with the Stars? :lmao:

Every year we have certain shirt colors that we wear on certain days. Traditionally the first day is always lime green in honor of the DIS. It can be a challenge to find that color sometimes so if you see it in the stores, grab one! We have to keep that. It might not be everyone's favorite color, but it's tradition. ::yes::

Then the rest of the days we pick colors so we coordinate as a group. It's optional of course. Just a fun thing to do. And you can wear anything in that day's color that you want. For example, if it's pink, you can wear a pink tee, a pink blouse, a pink sweatshirt, etc.
The colors will be announced a bit later on. (So, no, you didn't miss it. We haven't discussed the next trip colors.)

Finally every year we also have a new group tee. We usually wear that the day of the hunt/castle group photo.

If you check out the front page photos, you'll see some of the tees and color themes we've done in the past. :)

TGIF!!

I woke up at 6 this morning and evilly toyed with waking up my kids on their first day of summer vacation. :rolleyes1 But, I decided to let them sleep. Lazy bums. :rotfl:

You are sweetly innocent and old fashioned and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Aw, you such a nice Mom!

Thanks for your nice comment!

I went on the first trip.. I was going to go on the second trip? maybe the third? But I was due with my twins right then.. I actually had them the wednesday BEFORE the trip! LOL! So its always hit or miss for me if the trip lands on their birthday. I AM going this year. and I am SOO looking forward to it!:cool1: Love me some disneyland!!
Megan, I'm so happy you can make it this year! :yay:
erhm... yeah, I do the same thing, Mel :)
Thanks for admitting it also.

Hmm? I was just snooping there yesterday, and was actually looking over some lime green shirts, but didn't see that style. I love cowl necks too!

Stars????? Hmmmmmmmmm

I know that you are on the committee and I'm thinking Stars is a clue!!

Dang it, you're too fast Betty (as usual - HA!!)

I have mine already - woo hoo!!

The colors will be announced a bit later on. (So, no, you didn't miss it. We haven't discussed the next trip colors.)

Sigh. I realize you're getting older (how many days until your birthday??????), but we totally discussed the colors a looooooong time ago. Let me jog your poor memory. Everyone agreed that since tie dye is so easy and popular, it's going to be all tie dye, all the time. Throw in some sparkles and it's practically perfect :thumbsup2 No worries, you can thank me later for keeping you on track :hippie:

Ooooh, yeah. I should also remind everyone that contrary to what the ever forgetful Capri said, the M&G theme is my birthday party - woo hoo!! No exchange necesssary, just bring me gifts!! It's gonna be EPIC!!!!!

So stars it is. I bet something to do with Dancing with the Stars, right?????

Ooh! I am excited for more details! :)

Right now we are getting our house in order for our sons first birthday party. I hope we have everything. I don't even know what to do to entertain people, so I hope food and cake are good enough! We are doing a Mickey theme (of course) and managed to find lots of Mickey party decorations, so lots of setting up to do tomorrow before everyone gets here. I attempted to make a cake tonight....didn't work for me, and I tried twice. Sigh. At least my Dad's GF is coming to the rescue and made little tiny Mickey cakes, which I am excited to see.

Will hopefully post a couple photos after. :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Sure, Theresa. That's right. All tie dye, all the time. Yep, for sure. :thumbsup2

popcorn:: I'll be sitting eating my popcorn, watching and waiting as she's the only one to show up in tie dye....

Hey, food and cake sounds good to me! :cool1: Sorry your cake didn't turn out, but it sounds like it's going to be fun. Can't wait to see the pics!

Does that mean we are going to have to wear little spandex sparkly outfits???:scared1: If thats the case... Whos bailing me out of jail for knocking some poor unsuspecting child out with my runaway blub???:scared1::scared1::lmao:

I have more exciting news.. I got another nibble on my craigslist add.. A local photographer asked if I could do up 20 baby bonnets for her. I said.. OH CAN I!! :rotfl2: I know I can do those, because Ive done them for my kids a ton. and then she tacked on three of four other little things she needs done. I was like.. OOOOOHHHHH YEAAAAHHH. I havent gotten a final confirmation from her, but she sounded really interested.. REALLY interested. I have my fingers crossed. and my bananas a dancing. Can you tell this is the first time Ive worked in ten years? and doing something I LOVE! and Im actually GOOD at? :lmao: Im such a dork. Plus.. It will give me a valid reason to avoid the inlaws. :lmao:

I've got a lime green t that I want to tie-dye with navy and do the Mickey Head Tie-Dye on. I think that would be a nice way to "tone down" the green.

Stars? Hm. Don't we do this trip close to Academy Award time? I'm going with a red carpet thing on the "stars" clue.

I'm so glad things are working out for you ! It's a great feeling when things fall into place , especially doing what you love. I hope to see photos someday :)

I had Friday off and made it quite productive. I had to go into work in the afternoon for a meeting - which went much better than expected , so that's a plus. This weekend at work should be relatively light compared to the last several. I'm also feeling 99.999% better again !

After the meeting my DH suggested I go to the mall until he could pick me up from work - I'm glad I did ! After MONTHS of trying to find sandals that not only look decent with everything but are comfortable and fit my freakishly wide feet , I found a pair of Sketchers - http://www.zappos.com/skechers-reggae-rasta?zfcTest=fw:1

I bought them at JCPenney on sale for 25 dollars and had a $10 coupon off so paid just over $16 bucks for them and what a steal ! I wore them the last 6 hours out and about and can easily wear them to DL while there. I am super happy. We also stopped by REI and bought a new day bag - http://www.rei.com/product/805258/rei-nikole-day-bag-womens#video-inner

After running some errands and picking up snacks for our vacation at Grocery Outlet - best store ever - if you have one near you check them out , we headed to dinner with my in laws at Claim Jumper and saw Prometheus. Was a great day all in all , I'm looking forward to a quick 5 days of work then vacation..woohoo. Hope everyone is doing good as well.

Woo hoo!!! This is pretty much one of my favorite parts of our trip :rotfl: I am going with something along the lines of the new theatre and BVS in DCA....

I love Harry Potter and Twillight too, but have not read the others

Beth answered this for you :goodvibes

My friend is having a HUGE yard sale today and I am about to head over there. She cannot concieve so her and her hubby adopted a little newborn a few years ago....and they were selected for a new baby just recently. The proceeds go towards her adoption fund. We donated a bunch of our old stuff to her sale for her to get money off of. They are such an awesome couple and I really hope they make a ton of money today! I also need to go buy some Father's Day presents for the DH and my step-dad...men are so difficult to shop for!

PS. Theresa....I am with you on the tye-dye ;)

Happy Saturday, ladies!! :)

Megan, that is awesome on the Craigslist nibbles! How nice to be doing something you love and making money while you're at it. :thumbsup2

Lisa, I think you might be on to something with the Academy Awards... hmmm. Guess we'll have to wait for more clues.

Rose, those sandals look really comfy! And what a bargain. Love it. Mmmm, Claim Jumper sounds good. We have one down the street from us, but we don't get there very often.

Jen, hope your friend does well at her yard sale! That was nice of you to donate some items. :goodvibes

Linda, good luck finding a lime green shirt. It depends on the season's styles and colors. I remember one year it seemed like lime green was everywhere and everyone was wearing it.

Everyone else, hope you are having a great weekend! :sunny:

Hi Ladies!! :wave2: We're having a BBQ for Derek today.....he boards his plane tonight for the Disney College Program at WDW. We're putting him up for one night at the Pop Century Resort since he has to be there early Monday morning for the check in. He's already made contacts & has his 3 roommates figured out. He's also meeting up with a lot of other CPer's for dinner tomorrow night at the Rainforest Cafe in DTD. He's pretty excited & seems to have everything lined up.....it's me that's an emotional wreck!! :sad1: So happy for him but I'm sure gonna miss having him around!!

I also get to wake up at 2:45am to do our WDW ADR's online at 3am. I'm excited to see how I do!! I do have a PTR going HERE if you're looking for a lengthy read......lol :rotfl2:

Have a great weekend!!
