Since we're talking about Sushi I just wanted to say I  sushi. Not as much as my kids love it, but still enjoy it very much. Actually our family loves most Japanese food. I'm not a big cooked fish eater, but raw fish doesn't smell or taste fishy and that's why I like it.

Mel~ You look great. At any age, people look scary when they are exhausted and have been running around all day. I know I do. And I hope I look as great as you when I'm older :thumbsup2.

Kerri~ Sorry she failed her test, but you gave her one day notice...I think you did that on purpose so she wouldn't pass. I know I would do something like that LOL. Devin will be 17 in September and I haven't even attempted to get him a permit! Bad mommy ;).

As far as my life, I've been the happiest I've been in a loooooonnnnnng time. I'm loving my new guy and he's completely opposite in every way than my ex and I think that is why I like him so much .

Thanks!

I came in to work to find my desk decorated, Happy birthday signs on the walls and filing cabinets, confetti on my desk and my phone, calculator, computer monitor, chair and inbox wrapped up in birthday streamers. :rotfl: It took a good 5 minutes to "unwrap" everything so I could start working. :thumbsup2 Oh and home made coffee cake and brownies. We like birthdays in my office. :)

We drove back from So Cal on Monday .... can't tell you how much I miss my kids and the beach! I just wish it wasn't so expensive to live down there! Since we had our old dog with us we didn't make it to DL. I thought about the DL kennel but all that would be too much for her. Oh well next trip.

DH had a small canerous growth removed from his ear yesterday ... doctor got it all on the 2nd try so all is good. Now just back to his regular skin checkups and his scheduled face and head treatment next October. Such a relief!

Hope all the Divas have a great day!

LOL! I'm not an incredibly adventurous eater. Basic piece of grilled meat works for me. Get into fancy sauces and you lose me. Mexican food is not my friend. I'm allergic to cooked peppers. Not like anaphylactic, but to say they don't "sit well" is a mild understatement. LOL

Today's flight booking was, indeed, an ODYSSEY. Ugh. Here is my tale.....

So the alarm goes off at 3:40AM. I hit the snooze and get out of bed at 3:45 and turn on the computer. 3:49 it's all logged on and ready to go. Toodle over to the Southwest site, figuring it will be another 8 minutes before they put the new schedule up.... Oh, no! It's already up! ADRENALINE TIME! LOL So, I log into my Rapid Rewards and go to book reward travel. THE DATE I'M FLYING OUT IS BLACKED OUT! Argh!!!!!! So I switch to one way and book my flight back from Orlando on Dec 1. Done. By now, I'm WIDE AWAKE. So I go to look at flight cost for the 24th of November - $470. Um, no. Not gonna work. Look at the "my dates are flexible" calendar. The prior day (Day after Thanksgiving) is available for reward booking! Sweet! ONE flight is available. I'LL TAKE IT!

So, my WDW vacation is going to start a day earlier. Hubby is not amused, but oh well. Now, what to do about a place to stay that first night before I can check into Bonnet Creek. Hm. I have a friend who lives about 40 minutes from WDW. I know if I got truly desperate I could crash on her couch, so I wasn't too concerned. Oooo. Lightbulb moment (which is pretty impressive for 4:10AM, if I do say so myself!) - let's look and see what it would cost to stay that one night ON PROPERTY..... Value resorts.... Art Of Animation.... $139 plus tax. Hm. Pop Century.... $134. All Stars Movies... $129. Wonder what the going rate is for Holiday Inn the same night.... clicky clicky..... $109. Um, NO BRAINER! So I am booked at Art of Animation on Friday November 23 for one night. Which also means I get to use Magic Express for my ride to the World. YAY! Unfortunately, my flight gets in late enough that I won't get to take advantage of the luggage service, but that's OK.

So Saturday morning I will get up, check out, leave my bags with the bell desk and take Disney Transportation to the TTC and spend the day checking out the Holiday decor at some of the resorts (which I had planned to do a little of each day of my stay, but this will give me more "park time" - SCORE!). I also managed to book a 4:30PM dinner at 'Ohana. Yay me! After dinner I'll monorail back to the TTC and get on the bus back to AoA, get my bags and get a cab over to Bonnet Creek and check in there. *phew* I'm tired already! LOL

So now my planning is done until they (a) open up dining reservations for the restaurants that are completely blacked out right now until they figure out the Candlelight Processional dining packages; (b) start selling the Candlelight Processional Dining packages (sometime in July, probably); or (c) start putting out firm dates (and taking ADRs) for the opening of Be Our Guest and the new Fantasyland expansion which will, undoubtedly, cause everyone and their brother with a vacation within 180 days to crash the ADR system trying to get a ressie there. LOL I've got a couple of ADRs that I will need to cancel, but I'm going to wait a while to do that - probably until September or so. I will also need to add a day to my park ticket, but that will only cost $10.

And I wish I could go back to bed, but I know I wouldn't be able to sleep - it's too light out and I'm just too wired. LOL Gonna be a L*O*N*G day!
Is this a solo trip? I I wish I could do that. I just love WDW so much. I want to go all the time. You need to share how you like the new AoA.

Well, it will definitely be H-O-T, triple digits the entire time. But, every place is air conditioned, as are all the taxis/shuttles. If you are by the pool, I'd suggest a cabana if you can spring for it, and frequent dips in the pool. Make sure to drink lots of water, especially if you are drinking alcohol. You'll be fine.

A sister's week sounds fun! What a great idea. Have you been to Vegas before? Where are you staying, and what shows are you seeing? Not to be nosey, lol, just enjoy hearing what others have planned! :)
Good advice. Although we did get lucky for a few days this week with lower temps.

Morning all and thanks to those that posted the ghiradelli shots. Yikes my diet is DEF going to be in the toilet on THIS trip LOL.

We leave 2 weeks from Sunday and it can NOT get here soon enough. We are driving down and going to do one day at the beach, one day at Olvera Street/the grove and that night we are going to try to get into the Farrell's in Brea so I can show my kids what it is like. One of my fond childhood memories (the one that was here not there LOL). Then we are only doing one day at DL and one at CA so I just hope we can get done what we want. We are eating at the BBQ on our DL day and I def wanted to try the new Gibson girl ice cream or at least look in the store. And we will be able to get in for MM at DCA since we are staying at DLH so I am hoping that will give us enough time to do and see what we want in Carsland before the mob hits. I really wanted to try Flo's for either breakfast or lunch and then we have a ressie for Carthay circle for dinner and of course I HAVE to try Ghiradelli!! We have one in SF that we always try to stop at and of course we love the one in DTD at DW also. Then we are taking a tour of WB studios and maybe the max factor museum, I am meeting one of my good friends from college for dinner and last but not least a day at Univ. So I am REALLY excited!!

My girls are on their last week of school and it has been exciting. Shelby got her yearbook yesterday and it was fun looking at all the pics and they used a bunch of mine so that was cool! :) Katy gets her's tomorrow and she was picked to be the editor of the yearbook next year so I am really proud of her and happy. She is also taking a class at Sac State this summer for tv broadcasting so she is really excited about that. And next week we are going to see Wicked so we have all sorts of fun stuff coming up.

Hope everyone has a great day!!
Wow I wish I was part of your family. Sounds like a lot of fun to me too.
We are headed for Disney for only one day June 22nd.

Had a crazy week. As some of you know from my fb my grandpa went missing since Sat. He was found late last night driving the wrong way on the freeway :scared1: In Thousand Oaks. Thankfully he's ok, well sort of obviously he's lost his mind and now has no choice but to have my mom take care of him.

So sorry to hear about your grandpa but happy to hear that he was found and nobody was hurt.

Good morning, ladies!! It's another gorgeous morning here!! I love it. Cool mornings like this are few and far between in Las Vegas in the summertime, so I am cherishing it right now. lol

Arie is his name. he is the tall dark haired race car driver who went to Dollywood with her.
OK, yes, I know who Arie is. He's ok. I think I read online he's been arrested for DUI. Not cool.
I'm not sure who I like for her. Not that it matters. I've already been to Reality Steve and read who the final four are. lol

Kalon is a jerk. When he said to her, "I love hearing you talk, but I wish you'd let me finish", I was like  . His butt needs to go!

I have been watching the Bachelorette too and don't know who the Dutch dude is. But I like Sean and a few others. Definitely do not like Ryan or Arie. I really like Emily and DH was a big Nascar fan so I feel kinda of connected to her roots if you know what I mean. I hope she finds true love.
I am not an Emily fan, but I still watch. I've been hooked since Jake's season. My favorite couple was Ali and Roberto. I really thought they might make it.

We are gonna open up a store on Etsy.. Im going to do Steampunk dresses and suits for plus size folks.. and the hubby is going to paint nerf guns to look all steampunky. We are kind of excited about it.
How cool! Good luck. By the way, what the heck is steampunk?? I Googled steampunk fashion images and mostly got retro Victorian looking stuff. :confused3

Took a picture of Carthay. Anyone interested in me posting it? I also took a picture of the menu but it didn't turn out very good (it was bright out, so it was hard to see the screen on my phone).
Yes, post away! We love seeing pics.

:goodvibes That's so great to hear, Katie!!

Aw, how fun! Hope you have a great day!

I said it on Facebook, but it's worth repeating, I am glad he was found safe! It made me so sad to read where you said he was looking for your Grandma who'd passed away several years ago. :( Poor guy...

Hi everyone. Hope all of you are having a great week! :thumbsup2

Nothing to report here. It's cold and I'm still on a satanic diet.

Kerri - both DD and I failed our drivers test the first time. Cass will pass with flying colors next time. :thumbsup2

I had sushi for dinner tonight. And it included mostly raw fish. My kinda meal. :)
I wish they had some sushi in DLR. We used to enjoy the place at Paradise Pier before it closed. And they never reopened it as anything else. Hummmph.

I failed my test the first time too. I know she'll pass next time, in fact, next time is next week. Then I have to figure out how much the driving school will cost and how much driving she has to do with us before she can get her license. I think she has to have her permit for 6 months and it's something like 50 hours with a certain amount of the hours being done with an instructor.

I never got to eat at the place in the PPH, we had plans to but they closed it before we were able to. :(

I love sushi too. It's one of my very favorites--especially spicy tuna--yum!!!

Went to DLR today. It was a lot more crowded than I anticipated. Then I was reminded that today was the last day for the S. CA Select AP's before being blocked out for the summer. A lot of people, who have this pass, were there to get in their Disney day before the block out. I plan on being there each Tuesday of this month to try to get as much Disney in before my pass gets blocked out.

Went to Ghiradeli. Very cool. Got the caramel square at entrance--would have preferred the dark chocolate (my favorite). Took a picture of Carthay. Anyone interested in me posting it? I also took a picture of the menu but it didn't turn out very good (it was bright out, so it was hard to see the screen on my phone).

mmmm spicy tuna!! :) You can send me your caramel square....haha :) I'd love to see the photo!!

Cassidy adores sushi, but she doesn't eat raw, she eats crab and shrimp mostly. Usually when we all go Micah gets all you can eat, Cassidy and I get 3 rolls and share. Jade gets tempura or teriyaki something, her favorite is Miso soup. I wish the place we usually go had noodles for Jade, if they did that's what she would get.
I did only give her one day notice, I apologized for that. I thought it would help her not be as nervous but I guess that backfired completely. It hasn't been that long since she did the online course so I thought she's remember more. She read over the answers she missed and she said "I'm so dumb, I shouldn't have missed at least 4 of these". I told her she wasn't dumb, she was just nervous and that she would pass with flying colors next time. I also made sure she knew when the appt was so she can study early next week to refresh.
I'm so glad you like this new guy!!!!! Here's to all the happiness in the world for you!

Thanks!

Can it be Friday now? lol 1 month and 1 day until our Mother/Daughter trip!!! I cannot wait!! I am so excited!! I got my bag from Le Sport, I got the Kasey in Tahitian, it's sooooooooo CUTE!!!!! I told Cassidy she could use my Mickey bag, she got all excited. :) I will have to take a photo of my bag to share. :)

Julie failed hers the first time out too.. But passed the second go round. We paid $500 for her drivers ed. There are so many rules on what they need to get their license and then a ton of restrictions after they get it.. Her mom didnt agree with it, but we waited until after she was 18 to have her actually get her license.. I dont have time to deal with the BS.

We could wait until Cass is 18 but I'd rather not. I think WE will have more restrictions on her driving then the state will to be honest, we are really picky about that type of thing. I know when Cami started to drive we put a lot more restrictions on her then the state did.
I wish I could remember what I paid for Cami's driving school, even tho it was 8 years ago it would still give me an idea of what to expect.

Yikes. I'm glad to hear they were able to get it all!

Thanks. He was here a few weeks ago as my mom went to get him to try and get him to live her but he complained so bad and said he wasn't staying and left. I had spent the day with him and he kept saying how sad and lonely he is still with out grandma. I miss her so much too but it really made me sad to hear his loss. I think my mom is forcing him to move here now. I hope so can't imagine him being left alone. I know he lost his license so that's good. I am so glad he didn't hurt someone.

Oh and I heard Roberto is the next bachelor

So sorry to hear about your grandpa but happy to hear that he was found and nobody was hurt.
I'm glad he didn't either.
Also glad to hear that your husband is going to be ok. Glad they got it all.

But that satanic diet is making you hot! :smokin: ;)

:cool1:  :woohoo:

Julie failed hers the first time out too.. But passed the second go round. We paid $500 for her drivers ed.
That's what it's going to cost for Adam if we ever get around to signing him up for it.
Someone please tell me when every freakin thing out there became so expensive???

:wave2: Hello to all you wonderful Divas!!
Back at ya, babe!

I had spent the day with him and he kept saying how sad and lonely he is still with out grandma. I miss her so much too but it really made me sad to hear his loss.

OKay, that right there is just heartbreaking. :(

Roberto as the next Bachelor? Really? I hadn't heard that. I liked him with Ali, but I don't think he'd make a good Bachelor. I hope that's not true.
ETA: I read some reports that say he's not interested. Let's hope he stays not interested!
