Already plastered on Facebook and Tumblr. I just really, really, really love that belt. It's so shiny. My cousin wants to try and make something similar to it now that she's seen the photos.

That would be cool. Post pics if she does!

I'm going to be in Vegas the week of July 9th for a sisters week (yeah!!!, love my sisters), but I'm not looking forward to the heat. We don't gamble at all but plan on sitting at the pool all day and seeing shows at night. Will we survive?

Well, it will definitely be H-O-T, triple digits the entire time. But, every place is air conditioned, as are all the taxis/shuttles. If you are by the pool, I'd suggest a cabana if you can spring for it, and frequent dips in the pool. Make sure to drink lots of water, especially if you are drinking alcohol. You'll be fine.

A sister's week sounds fun! What a great idea. Have you been to Vegas before? Where are you staying, and what shows are you seeing? Not to be nosey, lol, just enjoy hearing what others have planned! :)

Pretty sure that would be pretty easy to make......you can find those shiny spools of "thread" at Claire's. They are for hair, you tie them in your hair and have shiny threads in your hair. It looks pretty neat actually, I've done them in Jade's hair. :)

Good morning, ladies!! I've now got two sick kids here at home. Lindsey has the cough that never ends, and Hannah now has a fever. Right before finals week, too. Not good. Oh well. What can ya do.

That stinks I am sorry to hear that :( I remember when I took my GED test over a 2 day period I was sick as a dog basically almost vomiting at my desk..ugh. I hope they feel better soon ! :goodvibes

Thought I'd just pop in and say hello!

Hello there ! :cool1:

Rose - sorry you got sick! If if it any consolation, a few friends who have gotten what is going around were over it in a few days. Rest up for your vacation.

Lisa - WOW! I'm tired just reading your post! :) But hey, another day of Disney is always good!!

Happy Monday everyone!

Yeah it's going around work - working in a hotel we always have something going around it stinks , lol. I was vomiting last night at work on and off and popped some nyquil and almost passed out in the back office >< Came home and my poor DH was so worried about me. I had a 103.5 temp and he said my legs and skin were on fire. He accidentally kicked me in his sleep and my skin felt so sensitive I screamed out and my kitty Guinness attacked him over it ! It's so crazy how protective she is over me and her "sister" Corona.

I took today off - it sucks because were are INSANELY short staffed. When I got hired last year they just had some major turnover and now we are back at square one. But if I had gone in today I most likely would be MORE sick and possibly infecting co workers and guests. My boss like many places tries to guilt trip us into coming in but it's like..come on..I have been working 6 and 7 day work weeks and havent been sick for months..give me a break :guilty:

And Lisa wow good job on that planning..I too am exhausted reading it :lmao:

Good morning, ladies! Happy Monday! (how's that for sarcasm... lol)

Oh no, that is always my biggest fear. With a family of 6, the odds are sometimes against us, and I worry that one or more will end up sick just before vacation. It's happened before and it sucks!

I hope you are better soon. I don't know what your symptoms are, but take some Airborne, Emergen-C, and Target brand Zinc dissolving tablets. Those help me. Plus lots of liquids. And rest, if and when you can. Also try some Oscillococcinum.
Good luck. I hope you are better soon! :wizard:

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions. Ive just been resting all day and have a day off tomorrow so rest it is. And chicken noodle soup. I feel about a million times better than last night so hopefully this blows over quickly.

Can I just say UGH!! It is raining her in NorCal?? Really - it is June!

I know , that's so crazy !

I'm probably not going to have a job in a couple of months so I'm looking for something new. Wish me luck!!

Sending positive vibes your way and support. Wishing you the best !:goodvibes

This one's for Jess.;)

HAHA too awesome..I needed that.

That poor guy's crotch is going to be plastered all over the DIS and Facebook before long. :rolleyes1

And you say it like it's a bad thing..:rotfl:

Vegas sounds great , I haven't been back since 2002 and so much has changed. Just be prepared for the hot weather and keep hydrated as well as protecting yourself and enjoy yourself :thumbsup2

I wish I was crafty in that sort of way. My cousin completely is, which is nice! She's always making some kind of jewelry or something. If she does end up making it, I'll share photos :goodvibes

Hope everyone has been having a good day. I don't know if it's the weather or the fact that it's Monday (or maybe too much Mad T for me this weekend) but I'm just feeling down today. I want to curl up with my kitties but they are hundreds of miles away.

Hi everyone!

Saw just enough on this page to know that Jess must be around! LOL!! She loved taking photos of that belt!:rolleyes1

Jess and Katie, it was so fun to see you and catch up with everything. I believe that Jess is adjusting just dandy to her new life! :thumbsup2 And it sounds like Katie's new interest is a real nice guy. Sincerely hope it works out Katie. You deserve it!

Chris, Jill, Mary Jo and Kelly, Thanks for inviting me along! I had a wonderful time with you all.
:grouphug:

Got enough of a glimpse of Carsland to know that I can't wait to go back.:cool1:

Gotta catch up now. Night!
PS- While we were there, we took some time to get started on hunt stuff. :cool2:

Morning all and thanks to those that posted the ghiradelli shots. Yikes my diet is DEF going to be in the toilet on THIS trip LOL.

We leave 2 weeks from Sunday and it can NOT get here soon enough. We are driving down and going to do one day at the beach, one day at Olvera Street/the grove and that night we are going to try to get into the Farrell's in Brea so I can show my kids what it is like. One of my fond childhood memories (the one that was here not there LOL). Then we are only doing one day at DL and one at CA so I just hope we can get done what we want. We are eating at the BBQ on our DL day and I def wanted to try the new Gibson girl ice cream or at least look in the store. And we will be able to get in for MM at DCA since we are staying at DLH so I am hoping that will give us enough time to do and see what we want in Carsland before the mob hits. I really wanted to try Flo's for either breakfast or lunch and then we have a ressie for Carthay circle for dinner and of course I HAVE to try Ghiradelli!! We have one in SF that we always try to stop at and of course we love the one in DTD at DW also. Then we are taking a tour of WB studios and maybe the max factor museum, I am meeting one of my good friends from college for dinner and last but not least a day at Univ. So I am REALLY excited!!

My girls are on their last week of school and it has been exciting. Shelby got her yearbook yesterday and it was fun looking at all the pics and they used a bunch of mine so that was cool! :) Katy gets her's tomorrow and she was picked to be the editor of the yearbook next year so I am really proud of her and happy. She is also taking a class at Sac State this summer for tv broadcasting so she is really excited about that. And next week we are going to see Wicked so we have all sorts of fun stuff coming up.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

OMG I'm dying over the crotch shot(s)......too funny!!!!!!

Do they do ice cream at the Ghiradelli shop? I mean I assume so, the photo shows waffle cones....LOL And please, tell me more about the free candy sample......
The freebies are the little choc. squares. The ones in the photo I posted that were bagged up pretty. I got the caramel filled. I don't know if they will be giving these out on a regular basis or just while the store is new.
That poor guy's crotch is going to be plastered all over the DIS and Facebook before long. :rolleyes1
When you're standing right up at the stage that's pretty much all you see.:rotfl: But his face wasn't bad, I thought he was pretty cute!
Hi everyone!

Jess and Katie, it was so fun to see you and catch up with everything.:

ah hum..................... How quickly you forgot that I was there too.:sad1:
:)

Our weather went from hot to cold and windy. ugh.

Wow that sounds like a full itinerary but full of fun stuff as well. I am ashamed to say I have lived in the bay area for over 3 years and still have never been to Ghiradelli in SF * hangs head in shame* but now with it being in DTD and with an AP discount I must go , LOL.

I was just looking over my own reservations for my trip and forgot how busy my own itinerary is , yikes !

In a twist of fate one of my good friends who is currently attending medical school in Florida just so happens to be off for summer break and said on FB how she misses California and I jokingly mentioned she should come visit Anaheim the week of June 14th-18th when we are there - and she now booked her flight out and is joining us in Disneyland on June 16th along with another local friend ! So I had to scramble to change our dinner ressie at Blue Bayou from 4 people to 7 , whew. Good thing it was still available !

So now June 14th and 15th it will be DH , me , BFF and her BF. June 16th will be DH , me , BFF and BF , BFF #2 , Med student_01 and Local_01. It's going to be an awesome weekend !

I am also feeling MUUUCH better than yesterday. My temp spiked at 103.5 overnight on Sunday going into Monday but after an all day rest and sweating out my fever to the point that I had to wash my sheets , I am on the mend.

AAND I called HoJo today and they were able to apply the retro rate to the first two nights stay Feb. 27th and Feb. 28th - too awesome. I am ready to have a good rest of the week , thennnn...DISNEYLAND OMGGGG!!

This is how I feel hehe ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6hZ4bno7PA

A sister's week sounds fun! What a great idea. Have you been to Vegas before? Where are you staying, and what shows are you seeing? Not to be nosey, lol, just enjoy hearing what others have planned!

We travel from S. CA to other places all the time (Utah, Colorado, Idaho...), so we go through Vegas all the time and often stay overnight, but I haven't "GONE" to Vegas for a very long time (have to admit much of the environment is not appealing to me ). We're staying at the MGM Grand. We're seeing Cirque due Soleil "Mystere", Penn & Teller Magic Show, and Menopause the Musical. I'm way excited! I've wanted to see Cirque du Soleil forever.

We don't drink alcohol, but we'll still drink plenty of water and I think the idea of the cabana is a great idea. My sister's husband is giving her this week for her birthday, so he can pay for it :laughing::laughing:

Hello ladies! It's a beautiful day here in Vegas. Sunny, blue skies, breezy, and only 75 degrees!! I've got my windows open and am loving it. Such a nice break from the 106 and 103 we had over the weekend.
I know it won't last, but for now, I'll take it!

 I hate days like that and I hope you are feeling better today.

PS- While we were there, we took some time to get started on hunt stuff. :cool2:
Does that mean we might get a theme announcement before too long?? :rolleyes1 :yay: lol
Glad you had fun at DL!

Environment as in on the Strip? Or as in the desert? LOL
I live up in Summerlin, near the Red Rock hotel. I like this area a lot. So much nicer than other parts of the valley and while it's only about 25 minutes from the Strip, it feels like a world away. Nice restaurants, parks, library, schools, shopping, walking trails, etc. We even have a nice view of Red Rock from our upstairs bedroom window. If only I could do something about the summer heat.
The Strip is fun. I have to be in the mood though. It can get crazy and crowded. Luckily as locals we get tons of freebies and discounts. But, I personally try to avoid it in summer. Too many tourists. :rolleyes1 :p ;)

MGM is nice. Great pools!! We love their lazy river. Definitely have your sister's husband spring for a cabana. It will make the day so much more pleasant. :thumbsup2

Mystere is good, you'll like it. Menopause is funny! We just saw it for the second time a month or so ago. Took my teenage daughter, and even she liked it. (that's one that comes up for free on our locals deals) I have yet to see Penn and Teller. You'll have to let me know what you think! :)

Schoooooooooools out! For summer! woo hoo!!! I am about to head out to lunch with the other teachers :)

Astylla~ sorry you are not feeling well

Beth~ Really? A list of yummy desserts?! Why o why would you torment me so? My tummy is so rumbly hungry right now. :rotfl:

That belt is pretty cool! Maybe if enough people suggest it, they will sell them :rolleyes1

G
Oh....sure, the flight was blacked out....just HAD to add an extra Disney day.... I got it. ;) (wink, wink) :thumbsup2

LOL Glad it all worked out. I want you to go to Be Our Guest so you can tell me all about it!! That's one place I might actually get on a plane to go to.
That's cool you'll get to try the new AoA resort. I've seen the photos online and it looks really cute.

I told hubby that I'd take Friday off my trip if he would buy my plane ticket for Saturday ($470). He declined that generous offer. LOL

I'll be staying in the Little Mermaid building at AOA. It's the only building that has "standard rooms" versus "family suites". I'm really looking forward to it.....

I know it won't last, but for now, I'll take it!

It was downright COLD here yesterday. We hit a high of 69 and had some rain and plenty of wind. Today is still chilly, headed to a high in the mid 70's, but it's sunny and just light breeze. So nice. Except for my poor tomatoes that were finally getting into a growing mood. LOL We'll be working our way back toward 90 for the weekend it looks like. Of course. We have an outdoor graduation party to attend on Saturday. LOL

Tonight is my friends' daughter's graduation. They are holding it downtown at Memorial Auditorium which is a parking nightmare of the nth degree. Especially since hers is the second graduation scheduled there tonight so we will be trying to find parking before the previous group has left. Bleh. Oh well. What can you do?

Other than that, not much on my agenda other than the usual..... :laundy:

Have a great day!

I'm totally crafty in that way. :) I make my own jewelry all the time, you can see photos on my FB if you're interested. :) I hope you get your kitties back soon!!! They must miss you too!

Thanks, free chocolate is always good, big or small! LOL I love the caramel squares, they are soooooo good!!

It was cold yesterday, it sucked. :(
I only have a minute here, heading out to sushi for lunch with my friend today. :) I had a GREAT class last night, biggest I've ever had! It was awesome!! I'm excited for next week, I teach Sunday & Monday nights. :)

Beth~ Really? A list of yummy desserts?! Why o why would you torment me so? My tummy is so rumbly hungry right now. :rotfl:
Blame Kerri. She asked. :rolleyes1

Cool! I love The Little Mermaid. That, and Beauty and the Beast are my two favorite Disney movies. Hmmm, Lion King, too.

Enjoy sushi! (yuck, lol) And yay for a great class. :cool1:

Ya, sorry, it was totally my fault. LOL
Sushi was good, I didn't eat anything raw today. I had crab and tempura shrimp. :) Sometimes I eat tuna, but that's about the only raw fish I'll eat.

Getting some stuff caught up and then leaving again in about half an hour, taking Cassidy to the DMV. Hopefully I have everything I need for her to get her permit.....I honestly don't know and can't figure the DMV site out enough to figure out exactly what she needs.

Oh gosh.. Its a freaking miracle... the twins are napping. SHHHHHH. But only for about 15 more minutes til the biggers get home. They never nap. EVER. You know.. Because they are 3. and there is two of them.. and they know that I need a break. :lmao:

Nothing new happening here.. Just getting ready for an influx of Germans. :rotfl2: Julie graduates on the 18th.. So her dad and her brother are coming in on the 11th, and her mom gets in on the 14th. Did I mention that the brother wont speak to the mom, and her dad constantly fights with her mom. Its going to be a NIGHTMARE!! Seriously, we are not looking forward to any of it.

BUT.. we leave for Disneyland on the 19th. YAY! Just me and the hubby... Its going to be amazing. Amazingly crowded.. amazingly hot.. for FIVE WHOLE DAYS! No kids. *sigh* Im excited, even though its going to be super hot and crowded.

The freebies are the little choc. squares. The ones in the photo I posted that were bagged up pretty. I got the caramel filled. I don't know if they will be giving these out on a regular basis or just while the store is new.

We got samples yesterday but they were the plain milk chocolate squares.

DBF had the Salted Carmel hot chocolate and I had a scoop of cookie dough in a waffle cone. Both were really good.

We didn't know but you have to get a menu before you go inside. I didn't see one inside. I guess it's so you can decide while you wait in line and maybe they think it will speed up ordering. (It wasn't crowded at all yesterday)

We had to go back outside and grab a menu and get back in line to order.

Oh, and the AP discount works there. I wonder if it will at Starbucks.
