Slacker!! :sad2:

Even if Amy hadn't read all the pages, she'd have figured it out soon enough all on her own. :rolleyes1

And 25 lbs?? Are you kidding me? Where?

I do slacker well.
I'm innocent! You guys are all delusional.

Um, going on 155lbs and it's all in the middle/tummy area (below my bust to my waist). I try to hide it. Explains the jacket always wrapped around my waist. It's not just for the air conditioning inside all the buildings, ya know.

Callie, I like your new avatar! Is that to help you think cool thoughts with the ice and all? ;)

Thanks Beth! I was inspired to change it after posting on the "where do you want to live in DL" thread. I said the Matterhorn with Harold, and I got to missing his cute furry face, so there he is! Rooooaaarr!!!

Speaking of avatars. . . Shelly, yours is ummmm, interesting. Is it of a snow storm? :lmao:

Hi everyone, I have been MIA. Gosh it has been a while since I have been here. Well not really but for some reason everytime I logged on it showed all threads as read and I didn't have time to go through all the posts to figure out where I left off. Plus I have been super duper busy.

Well as you know my mom was here right after school got out. After she left I had to work 2 overnight shifts at the fireworks stand for my son's marching band. We worked from 10 .M. until 6 A.M. Then DH worked a lot of overtime so because his boss went on vacation for a week. That was the same week I worked at the fireworks booth.

My youngest, who has Type 1, is going through puberty and a growth spurt so his blood sugar numbers are no where near in range and I have been dealing with that.

We had our 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and hallway painted. Then I decided I wanted another in the boy's room so we did that. I had an a/c put in the boys room because it faces west and the sun just beats in. I painted shelves and am going to put those up later.

Once that part is done I am going to buy new living room furniture but have the living room and kitchen painted and the carpets cleaned throughout before the furniture is delivered.

I have to get all this done before Christian goes to diabetes camp on the 18th of August. Someone wants to do a documentary with him and Dorian Gregory, from Charmed, about going on the pump and they are coming to interview us before he goes to camp. They will film him at the beginning of camp and then leaving camp and interview us again. Then the weekend he comes home from camp he will be in the hospital for 2 days to do an in hospital insulin pump start. Just in time before school starts.

I also have to throw vacation in there so this Tuesday morning we are leaving for Vegas until Saturday. Oh and then that Sunday and the following Sunday we have 2 JDRF events.

When oh when can I fit in Disneyland????

Did I mention I want school to start so I can go back to work?

So I'm sorry if I have missed any milestones or anything else. I hate that when I was just getting to know everyone I got busy. So I am still here and still want to go on the girl's trip. I can't wait to jump right in and start chatting again.

Yeah, that's it!! Good guess. :thumbsup2

When it works it flashes....Will work for idiots. I'm too lazy to get my penguin to the right size to use here.
ETA: There, I got less lazy and put up my funny bunny one. Got to keep my Dis Ladies amused.

Yeah, that's it!! Good guess. :thumbsup2

There ya go, much better. It suits you perfectly. :thumbsup2

Hi all!

I've been slacking. Haven't read the thread since Monday night.

Dang, Amy2 read all 91 pages when she posted. Geesh, so much for me convincing her I'm an  . She's read all the posts by you guys saying otherwise.

A Wish Thread sounds like a great thing. Too bad it won't do a thing for me. I need my moral support to be in the same room with me. I need to lose almost 25lbs!!!! Chips are evil.

Have a great evening!

No worries Shelly, after page 50 there was no chance of my remembering anyones names, so its all a blur;)

Well, you hide it very well. Maybe I need to try that jacket trick. :confused3 On second thought, I don't think there's a jacket large enough to help me out. :rotfl2:

Is his name really Harold??? :rotfl: I never knew that. Boy you learn something new all the time here on the DIS.

Yeah, that's it!! Good guess. :thumbsup2

Names all a blur?? Well, that just won't do. Here let me give you a little hint, when it comes to remembering names just use word association.

For example....Shelley = Wicked. See? That should help. :stir:

I'm kidding Shelley!!! You know we love ya. And that's why we are so happy you are still coming with us in March. :rolleyes1 We need your humor!!

Cheryl!! Good to see ya!! I thought maybe you'd ditched us. :snooty: LOL

Holy crap girl, it sounds like you have been, and are still, super busy. Wow. It made me exhausted just reading about it. I don't know how you do it all.

I'm sorry to hear about your DS and his troubles with his blood sugar. I bet that's been rough on you both.
It's neat that they want to do a documentary on him though. Is it for something that we'd be able to watch on tv or somewhere?
I bet he's really excited about going to camp. :yay:

I'm glad you were able to work a little vacation in there too. Sounds like you definitely deserve it. And you'll be in my neck of the woods. :thumbsup2 Any fun plans while you are here? Some shows maybe? Or just hanging by the pool? ;)

Well, it was good to hear from you. Don't worry about us. We'll be here when you're ready to chat. :)

Quick question ladies!
I'm planning my WDW trip for 2010, well as much planning as I CAN do since I don't have the money just yet nor are the rates/packages out.

I was just wondering for those of you who live in So. California, where do you usually fly out of? LAX, ONT, or BUR?

What airline do you find the cheapest for a R/T, non-stop or one-stop w/o changing planes
to Orlando?

I just want to get some sort of estimate so I can save $100-$150 more than that because I know ticket prices will be up in 1.5 years.

Thanks.
OH! I also need some advice for ADRs!

Please give me your favorite TS from each park and why!

We are mostly just hanging by the pool at my sister's. On Thursday we are going to the Adventuredome. I'm sure my mom got tickets for some show or another. She knows a seamstress that makes costumes for a lot of shows in Vegas and she can get tickets for all these shows. I think that is pretty much it. What are you going to be doing during that time?

I think the documentary might be on dLife online or the show on CNBC.

Christian is excited about camp but I think he is starting to get a little nervous. I know I am nervous. He hasn't been away from me since he was diagnosed.:sad1: It's just that thing that we talked about. No one can take care of him like I do. And he is going to be super active. At least I get a week to myself. Anthony will be at band camp that week also. Not overnight though. Hey I can have some Disneyland time then.:cheer2:

Can't help with the airport question, but I'll tell you what TS were our favs! BTW, it looks like you'll be going in January of 2010..so are we! Haven't picked the dates yet, as we just decided. But that's when we went last time and it was a blast. Because of the ages of our kids, we did more family type places, so no Le Cellier etc (although its on my list for next time!)

MK-Kids loved Liberty Tree Tavern. Comfort food (thanksgiving stuff), family style, character meal. We went for lunch.

Epcot-Coral Reef-Got a great seat in front of the tank. Kids loved the atmosphere. Food was great! I know it gets so-so reviews but we loved it. Chocolate Wave..YUM!

DS-Mama Melrose-almost cancelled our ADR because of the bad reviews I read here. But this was our best TS of the stay! We all loved the food, service was good, and the dessert was the best I had on the trip. A yummy cheesecake!!

AK-We did the Breakfastosaurus character meal and it was a blast. Pretty standard Disney breakfast buffet, but fast service, great character time, and you are right in Dinoland! So we rode dinosaur about 6 times right when the park opened. (Not the best idea on a full stomach but we did it anyways.)

Resorts-Ohana (ummmm yummy banana dessert), Boma, and Whispering Canyon Cafe were all good. Oh and the kids loved that dinner show out at Fort Wilderness. Can't think of what it was called now but it was a revue type comedy, music show. Food was fried chicken, etc. Yummy strawberry shortcake for dessert (why do I ALWAYS remember the desserts??) OH Hoop de Do Revue or something was what it was called.

Hope this helps!

Good morning ladies!

My mom is coming into town for the weekend and I have the homeschool convention on Fri/Sat. I'll probably scarce for a few days.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Cristabel: we are flying out of LAX in November because it was the only airport we could get direct flights to Orlando. I'm not a good flyer, so reducing the number of take-offs and landings was important to me!

Can't help you with the flights, though I am interested to hear everyone's recommendations for ADRs. We'll be heading to WDW next year as well and I'm curious to hear favorite TS from each park.

As for my ADR recommendation, just one. I like Crystal Palace at MK for a character breakfast BEFORE park opens. Get to walk through an empty park to the restaurant, take some pictures in front of the castle without any one else in them and your fed and ready to go at opening. Way to start the day at MK! Love it!

:lmao: Cristabel, you crack me up!! I love how excited you are!! But it's funny because I know if you are at all like me you will change your mind hundreds of times between now and then!! :rotfl2:

I can't help very much on the TS. We are mainly a snack/CS family because sit down meals for SIX are a hassle and super expensive. But I have eaten at Whispering Canyon Cafe and that was fun. We really like Prime Time Cafe.
The breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK was good. Oh, and the buffet at Park Faire in the Grand Floridian was just so-so for me.

And I agree with Amy on the Hoop De Doo Revue, that was fun and the food was good. That's all I can think of for now. Remember if money is tight, the counter service places can have really good food too. :thumbsup2

As for air travel, we just always used to fly from LAX. Happy planning!! :goodvibes

Enjoy your time with your mom! We'll see ya when we see ya. ;)

That is so nice your mom can get you some tix! Lucky you!! I'm not into gambling, so the shows are what we like to do when we can.

The Adventuredome is fun too. We went last September and the kids all liked it. I'm not sure what we'll be doing. Probably the same thing we've been doing....nothing. :rotfl2: It's been too hot to do anything. And now we are getting more humid to boot. Make sure to pack lots of tanks and shorts! LOL

Let us know when you find out more about the documentary. I'd love to watch it.

I think that's normal for Christian and you to both be nervous about him going off to camp. But I'm sure once he gets there he's going to have a blast and while you will probably be thinking about him the whole time (you are a mom after all!!) try to enjoy your alone time and take the break you so deserve. The camp sounds like a great place and I'm glad he's getting to go. And you can head to Disney!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

I would also like to know when the documentary airs . . ..

the son of a friend of mine just went to MDA camp for the first time--the son (11 years old) was VERY nervous and making noises about not going at the last minute, etc. My friend basically wouldn't take "no" for an answer--Daniel was even hesitating about staying once they got to the camp--it was funny, the camp counselors were really good about his nervousness and then said--"this is your first time here, right? because if you'd been here before you would not be worried and would not want to leave!" LOL--needless to say, he stayed and had a really good time. (and his sister was SOOOOO jealous, which made it even better):rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey Cheryl. Thanks for that. It is scary letting go. But I am looking forward to a break. I'm sure he will have a great time.

Hi!!!

Which lady was it that wanted to work for disney travel?? Was it Cristabel???

I used to have the master link to all disney related jobs on the laptop and the travel company was always listed. But I found something else that might be a starting point if you still need it.
http://www.disney.go.com/DisneyCareers/wdwcareers/hourly/reservationcenter.html Ok this is the overview

If I ever figure out the other link I had. I'll post it. I found the general all careers site. I should have known. lol
https://disney.recruitmax.com/main/...ad-06f5-4622-b614-74475b752e8e&szIsJobBoard=0 That should work, if not I'll back track a step or two if it is needed.
