Beth-I hadn't considered the treat-or-treat party...just hoping to survive the trip with the munchkins and no hubby. Hoping I don't lose one of them, or have a meltdown, etc etc.

It sounds like fun though! Hopefully whoever attends will share their thoughts.

Hi Ladies!

Welcome Amy2! :thumbsup2

Looks like many of us are watching our weight. I've been doing Weight Watchers Core Plan online and I definitely recommend it. Really helping me to change what I eat to more healthy complex carbs, etc. I've also decided to train for my first half marathon - which I signed up for in Huntington Beach Feb 9 :scared1: I've been training for a couple of months and am only up to 4 miles, but somehow will get to 13 miles in the next half year. Anyone care to join me for the Huntington Beach run? :cheer2:

Thanks for the welcome. I'm thinking of getting back on WW. Never did the core plan, did flex but it worked. I need to get back on the wagon.

The marathon sounds awesome! I suck at running but have always wanted to walk one. I went to high school in HB 20 :scared1: years ago.

Our own WISH thread is up and running if anyone of you wants to hop over. We'll have our own place to cheer each other on in whatever our personal goals are! :yay:

I think when it comes to weight loss and getting healthy, you simply cannot have too much support. :thumbsup2

If anyone can think of a better thread name just let me know and I'll change it. LOL I just wanted to get something up there for now. :)

I will also add this info and a link to the WISH thread on the front page of this one for anyone who needs it later on.

Thanks Beth! That was quick!

I'm all in for supporting each other...now I just have to find the wish board.
No worries, I just posted the link. :cool1:

I see. Well, I don't blame you then. This is our first time doing the actual party even though we were there in October last year. So I have no real clue what to expect.

OMG, my 20 year HS reunion is next June!! :scared1: I cannot believe it. :sad2:

As my DSs would say, "AWESOME!"

I'll definitely be joining the WISH thread. And I have a suggestion for our first event...the "Kick the Couch 5k" run.http://www.worldwidehalf.com Think Global Run Local. We could have a DLGirls team and each run/walk our own little 5k on race day in our own little neck of the woods.

And who knows...we might be able to move up to a Disneyland or Disneyworld Half Marathon in 2009 or 2010. Anyone with me?? :cheer2:

I bet some of the ladies would be up for that! I'm going to add the WISH thread link to the front now and maybe find a way to work it into our thread title. It's been awhile since some of the ladies have stopped by. As they trickle back in, maybe we'll get more to join us in our getting healthy challenges!! :thumbsup2

Goooooooood Mooooooorrrrrrrning!

The sun is shining......the birds are singing.....it's another beautiful day!:cheer2:

(That's how I wake my DS 9 up each morning for school, so I thought I'd expand and rouse up my Dis girlfriends the same way. Annoying isn't it?!)

Good morning to you too! I tend to annoy my kids with wake ups like that as well. Gotta love it!

I just went and read your WDW trip report. (Much better than actually working while I am at work..lol) How awesome to take an adult trip! I've always told my husband we need to do that someday. Especially Epcot, I'd love to spend hours in the World Showcase and I don't see us ever doing that with the munchkins. Your report was great and it sounds like you had a blast!

What dates were you there? We went in Jan of 07 also, from the 7th to the 14th. We stayed at ASMo since we had the kids and I loved the trip, but after eating at all of those beautiful resorts (we had the dining plan too) I so want to stay at AKL, and Wilderness Lodge, and Poly...etc etc etc. I'm trying to decide where to go for our next family trip in Jan of 2010. I am torn between the ASM family suites (more for the space and 2 bathrooms being a family of 5) or AKL with the deluxe queens and bunkbeds.

And too funny, AK was our fav park also! We had originally planned on only 1/2 day there (after reading on the boards that it was a "half day park") but ended up spending 2 full days. EE and Dinosaur were our favorite rides. And I just loved walking through the park. So beautiful!

This thing you call "morning" what is it? It sounds absolutely evil.

I don't know about birds singing, but I definitely hear kids screaming.

Good morning to you and everyone else!

I'll probably be joining the WISH thread soon.

And yay for another new girl! :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a great day!

What? You mean you guys don't toss cold water on them and yell "Get up. Now." :confused3

;) kidding!! I'm not a morning person, BUT I'm getting better at it.

I would totally stay at the AKL if I could. And I also love Animal Kingdom. It's probably the closest I'll every come to the real thing.

:lmao: Sorry, but the kids screaming part cracked me up.
I'm glad you're going to come join us on the WISH thread!! I think it will be great. :cheer2:

Hey there ladies. I am back from summer vacations and am finally finding a moment to pop on the board. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and for all of us lucky moms who have kids home from school are finding ideas of how not to check in to the looney bin.:rotfl2:

Too late. I've been in the looney bin for awhile now. Actually it's not all that bad. Come join me! We have cookies. :teeth:

Oh no, wait. No cookies for me. OKay then, we have grapes.

Huh, just doesn't have the same ring to it. :rotfl:

Anyway, welcome back!!!

You had me at cookies but grapes???? Although my mother in law showed my kids how to freeze them and then they seem like frozen treats..... Anything to confuse the brain right????:rotfl2:

Callie, I'm right there with ya girl. I'm a diet pill rebel myself, although I take a prescription diet pill (phentermine). But my prescription is almost out, so then I may have to try something new.

But mostly I'm just trying to make healthy changes with diet and exercise to achieve my goals.

We can't afford a Wii right now, but I was thinking about getting a Dance Dance Revolution bundle (with the dance mat) for our Playstation 2. I'm not sure, but I thought maybe that would provide a fun, aerobic exercise.?

Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is a great aerobic exercise. If you do get it I'd recommend you getting a squishy mat (like the kind people stand on while working long shifts) to put under the dance mat because it hurts pounding your feet on the ground. I was sweating so much doing that when I went to visit my friends. I want to buy one but I want one for Wii, it's be awesome!

Hi all!

I've been slacking. Haven't read the thread since Monday night.

Dang, Amy2 read all 91 pages when she posted. Geesh, so much for me convincing her I'm an  . She's read all the posts by you guys saying otherwise.

A Wish Thread sounds like a great thing. Too bad it won't do a thing for me. I need my moral support to be in the same room with me. I need to lose almost 25lbs!!!! Chips are evil.

Have a great evening!

Well, my brain is pretty confused most of the time and it still wants cookies. :sad2:

My DD has one for the PS2. I've watched her and quite frankly there is no way I could do that without tripping all over myself. :rotfl:

Slacker!! :sad2:

Even if Amy hadn't read all the pages, she'd have figured it out soon enough all on her own. :rolleyes1

And 25 lbs?? Are you kidding me? Where?

Congratulations on your 1200 post, Shelly! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:
Yeah, but can she catch up to me? :rolleyes1 Oh wait, probably not since she has a life. Never mind.

Callie, I like your new avatar! Is that to help you think cool thoughts with the ice and all? ;)
