Wow! I check out for a few weeks and it turns to stripper shoes and firemen around here! Man, I picked a bad time to be away from these boards. I am missing all the fun!!

Just popped in to say hi! Work has been crazy and I am wrapping up some big projects for school right now so I haven't had much social time. I am really wishing I could join the mini-meet in Oct! We will be there 2 days later!! Darn.

The way things have been around here lately....March just can't come soon enough. I will really be needing some "no work, no school, no hubby, no kids time" by then.

Oldest daughter went to the orthodontist today for her consult and all I can say is this is what happened when I saw the estimate to get her braces . Now we just need to figure out when we're going to get them put on. I'm thinking after the new year, she's still pretty young. I'll talk to the doc tomorrow as I wasn't able to go today because of work.

And our son is going through his annual evaluations so that the school district is able to determine what kinds of treatments/classes he will need once he turns 3 next month.

Okay enough venting for the night. Take care, talk to you all soon.

My DD Noelle needs braces too. She's 11. We've been putting it off because we weren't sure if my husband was going to change jobs and therefore change insurances. But we've got to decide soon what we are going to do. The cost is so high!!

My DD is eleven and she just started getting her braces put on over the summer. So far its all good. I am very lucky to have my mother working in the dental field and for our family to be good friends with our dentist (moms boss). Because of her DD's braces are only costing me a fraction of what they normally would have. Granted, its still a lot of money $400 for a set of xrays! But overall its a steal. And the oral surgeon who extracted one of her teeth for the braces did it at no charge. They will bill my insurance and take that as full payment. Its all about who you know. Lucky for me though. Otherwise, not sure how I would be able to pay for it.
