I love rice krispy treats! Maybe I'll have the kids make those for Santa instead of cookies.....:rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Good idea! :thumbsup2  I love them too. There's something about homemade rice krispie treats vs store bought. If you make it yourself it tastes better for some reason. :confused3

I have to work today. Yuck. Don't. Feel. Like. It.

I forgot to tell you all that my father had to have emergency surgery this week.
Heather :santa:

Oh, I just hate living away from family, when stuff like that happens. (But it sure is nice at other times). I sure hope your Dad continues to heal and doesn't suffer any additional setbacks.

Quick post of pictures before I forget how. :rolleyes1

My tree.........no duh! :rotfl: There is a huge amount of homemade, sentimental ornaments on the tree. Also the pic on the table, is of my second son Derrick ,his wife Sarah and my first grandson Rowen. Look out the window and notice our famous Central California fog. :sad2:

And the aprons! Yay! They are done and wrapped!! :woohoo:

Oh, What a beautiful tree. I miss real trees, just for that reason.

And the aprons are absolutely darling.

Dear Dawn, Thank you for your empathy! I am pretty sure that a girl on a diet should not eat anything with brown sugar caro syrup in it. Stop posting those yummy recipes.

Oh, and congrats to your kids. I agree that the deans list is impressive on it's own, let alone with 3 little ones. They are lucky to have such a great support system with you and your parents.

Kelly, my dear boys age 6 and 12 refused to do Santa this year. Even when I said no santa, no Xmas. Rotten Buggers! So, no more pictures for me. So sad.

Im jealous of everyone who is baking. I'm not going to this year. First year in I can't remember how long. Probably since I was a teen. I am just too busy and don't see where I can schedule it in. Maybe if I don't sleep I can at least do some fudge, bread and one type of cookie.

Me too! No homemade cookies this year.

I went to a bakery and BOUGHT 6 dozen. (Of course, the cousins will never know the diff)

It's finally noon and the phones are starting not to ring--thank God. The last few days have been insane. I'm leaving around 3 p.m. to go meet a client and some friends for drinks, then meeting other friends at 6:30 p.m. for dinner and ornament exchange. Then home to sleep and get up and cook!

Hope you're all having a great day--Heather--glad your Dad is doing well--that was scary that such an infection could occur now!

Hi all. I hope you all are having a nice day. I was until about 10 minutes ago. I was balancing my checking account and saw a weird charge. So I call the phone number associated with the charge and give them the requested information. Well it turns out someone gave our information for a roadside assistance thing. The address they had was one that we lived at from 1998 - 2002. Of course I get redirected to the East Coast to let them know that we didn't authorize the charge or receive the services....but they closed at 5pm EST.

I called my credit union and had to pay another $20 to put a stop payment on this and look into identity theft. I am so livid right now. We don't even have a debit card on this account so that means they have my account and routing number information.

Alright I'm done venting....On a good note though we are done with our Christmas shopping.   Wednesday we have to get a small amount of groceries and that's it.

Talk to you all later.

steph

Steph--what a pain! I hope they find whoever the dastardly people are!

Happy Monday Everyone:)
We got more rain today, and it's c-o-l-d. At least for So Cal it's pretty darn chilly! Callie, that pic of Colorado is beautiful. We vacationed there this summer, it was really a relaxing week and a different type of vacation for us. I am so excited for Christmas. I have one gift still coming via UPS tomorrow - Deadliest Catch t-shirt and mug for DH, it's his favorite show. And he is quite the fisherman actually, he fishes, I do Disney.;) Works for us!

I love Deadliest Catch too! LOL

I have a crush on Captain Phil (though why, I don't know!)

What, no one wants to see the Tale of Desperaux?!

I want to see the Benjamin Button or whatever it's called (with Brad Pitt) movie--it also comes out Christmas Day!

Hi Hi Everyone!:santa:

Cheryl... i hope things are getting a little better each day and tomorrow you have a special present under the tree for You from You because we need to spoil ourselves!:thumbsup2

Thank you--actually, buying presents for myself has never been a problem!!:rotfl:

Quick post of pictures before I forget how. :rolleyes1

The aprons are adorable--I so admire those who can hand-make gifts like that. I don't have the patience.

Where is WendyLouWho?:santa: i miss her!

We just made the easiest yummiest appetizer..
You mix:
cream cheese with some crumbled bacon, diced pickled jalapenos i added a touch of brown sugar karo syrup because sometimes that little sweet with the salty is really nice.

Edited to add: Wendy is probably addressing the Christmas cards that were supposed to arrive last night!
I make something similar--but my mixture is either (i) cream cheese, diced ham, diced chiles (in a can), green onion tops and diced olives on regular tortillas OR (ii) I am trying something new tomorrow--using spinach flavored tortillas (they're green!) mix cream cheese and diced bell pepper, carrots and whatever other colorful but sturdy veggie you can think of (I'm using different colored bells and carrots) in the cream cheese. I'm also adding chiles for "spice"--then roll up in the tortillas and slice in pinwheels--it's supposed to look like sushi!!!

I got them all mailed out this morning! :woohoo:

I hope everyone is having a great day! We just got done with our holiday party at work and now I feel like a stuffed pig. Now I just have to wait for UPS to come and I get to go home!

Melody - I LOVE those aprons, they are too cute!

Dawn - I'm here now! :yay: And ya got me thinking about the chili con queso at Chili's, yum yum!

Kelly - That is too funny about the vest! I was driving by Sunrise last night on my way to the Spaghetti Factory and I took one look at Penney's and started laughing. :rotfl:

I know there's more that I wanted to say, but I need a nap before I can ask my brain to function anymore.

Hey guys! Has anyone ever seen the picture of Elvis in the Haunted Mansion? I swear when I was there on Firday I saw Elvis. Please tell me I'm not crazy...DBF thinks I am.

Hi! :drive:

Unfortunately now that I am all caught up I want Rice Krispy Treats. Ugh.

Evil, you are all EVIL. ;)

Guess I'll have to buy some Rice Krispies and some marshmallows tomorrow.

:grouphug:

I'm at work, but stole a few minutes to see what you crazy ladies are up to, and I see this. I haven't been to DLR yet, but have not heard of Elvis in the HM. :confused3 Is he perhaps the groom of the monkey bride? ;)

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I'm so glad my Dad is feeling better. :)

You're not crazy! Hopefully someone else can confirm this for you, because I apparently make up fictitious things when it comes to the HM.
