toocherie:hug: I hope things are getting better for you. DBF and I broke up the first wk of November. He moved out the wknd before that. It was hard. It still has been crazy. His sis is my bff...its so weird...

Oh gosh--a soul sister! Things are better--although I wish they would stop playing Elvis' "Blue Christmas" on the radio! LOL

I am going to a friend's party tonight--it's raining cats and dogs here today and the last thing I really want to do is drive to the beach but oh well. I made my appie last night to take--tortilla roll ups with cream cheese, ham, chiles, olives and green onions and then this killer mustard sauce. I'm taking pre-mixed Margaritas as my "adult beverage" of choice. And then we each have to take a "white elephant" gift. I'm taking bubble bath that I got last year--I don't take baths. (Ok, and before you all start chattering about that comment, I take SHOWERS--no baths--I'm afraid with my knees I will get in the bath and never be able to get out!) So, I got this really nice and (I'm sure) expensive bubble bath from Philosophy last year and my assistant wrapped it up nice and pretty today. We are supposed to play a game where everyone draws a number, then in order we can pick a present from under the tree or "steal" from someone else. Have you all played that game? It's all girls tonight so it should be fun.

Other than that--I'm planning prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner--any ideas on something new and different to serve with it that is not too much hassle to make? I told my cousin to make a fruit salad, and I was thinking baked potatoes and fixin's but would like something new and different as an additional side accompaniment. Anyone?

Ok--almost time for me to leave so I'll move on to the rest of the posts so I don't get too far behind!

MotoPrincess- You being in Pearblossom explains why you had snow yesterday! I am out in Lancaster.

This is the most recent picture of my yard. My poor plants used to be tall, now they are all falling and getting flatter and flatter! hahahah!

Heather: when I lived in Utah invariably my tulips would bloom and the next day we would have a huge snowstorm!

My little one is looking over my shoulder, and wants to add smilies for you. So here they are::scared1: :happytv:  :laundy: pirate: :santa: popcorn:: pixiedust: :grouphug: :drive: :moped: :rockband: party: :welcome: :darth: :sail: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo :smickey: :mickeyjum :earsboy: :wishmember :rainbow: :jumping1:

Thank you Nathan for all the smilies!

I know that others (Molly?) have had experiences where the fare drops after the initial booking. So it's a good thing even if you have booked to periodically check and see if there is a cheaper flight.

Well ladies, this time the snow got me too. I left work at 3:15 and would normally have been home by 4, including stopping to pick Ty up from daycare. Instead, I got home at 4:45 after traversing slush and snow covered streets. This is the first time that it has REALLY snowed since I moved to Vegas, and I didn't really think about the fact that we dont have snowplows and salt until I had to drive home today.

My boss called me right as I got home to tell me that they closed our building at 4:30 and reminded me to check the news before heading to work tomorrow as her sources say that they are expecting tomorrow to be a snow day. Part of me wishes she hadn't said anything as I will be SOOOO disappointed if that doesn't come to pass!!!:lmao:

Enjoy a warm and cozy night at home everyone!

Make roasted potatoes. Chop up some potatoes. I like to use red and rose white. Make them chunky bits. Melt butter and mix with horseraddish sauce. Add some ground pepper. Toss the butter mix with the potatoes. Put in the over until golden brown and soft. More horse raddish you use the spicier they will be.

Hi Everyone!

I've had a good day. It looks like we are moving into a new apartment in Feb. :yay: I can't wait! It will be a 3 bedroom on the ground floor, and by one of our pools and BBQ areas. WooHoo! Right now, it's aerobic exercise to get us all down the steps and in the car. It usually takes me 3 trips. I'll lose my mountain view, so I'll have to get a pic of it for you all before we we move.

So, after the delvopmental specialist visited 2 weeks ago, I've really been working with Nathan and his talking. He has learned a few new words, and I was so excited. I even got to the point where I thought he might not need therapy. Well, it seems that he is 6-9 months behind even with all he's gained in the last 2 weeks. So, it looks like we are going to start with ST and OT once a week soon. I hope it helps him.

I love all the snow pictures also!

Wow have you all been busy over the past few days. I'm working on catching up. Just wanted to check in. It's been snowing here all day (I'll post some of my pics later). I also have a stomach bug (seems to last about 48 hours...as odd got it Monday afternoon and is just starting to feel better).

Now time to catch up with everything. Hope you all are doing well.

Oh, and one more thing before I go........

Let's hear it for the TWO's!!!
2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days before our trip!!! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :thumbsup2

YAY that means 2 months and 12 or 13 days until my birthday!!!!

Yep...Soulsister!!
I have never made prime rib..I love prime rib but I have never made it.

Have fun at your party.

The flights from Spokane are still so stinkin expensive!! Well sort of.
I am not sure where to fly into.
There are flights for $99 to San Diego...but then I would have to rent a car.

Jordansmomma-I just say you kind words to me. I think Nathan will end up like your little boy. I'm sure in a few years, we won't be able keep him quiet. :) Is your son still in ST or is he completely caught up now?

21yankees-I'm sorry you've been sick, but am glad your up to checking in. Feel better soon!

Miranda Priestly! hahaha If you haven't seen the Devil Wears Prada you probably won't know who I'm referring to, lol.

Yes, I've played white elephant and it's a lot of fun stealing other people's coveted presents :stir:

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. Hope you get better soon.

Have you been keeping up with your daily planning? Just wondering.

I just watched "Tyler's Ultimate" on the Food Network and he made an awesome looking prime rib dinner. He had a mashed potato cake thing - boiled red skin potatoes, mashed with some goodies, then put in a pan and baked in the oven until crispy - yummy! He also did roasted carrots, creamed spinach and creamed onions. I would love someone to make that for me! All the side dishes looked very easy and tasty.

One of my favorite side dishes is cabbage or cauliflaur, or even brussel sprouts augrautin, or it would be great with asparagus too. You just steam the veggi, then make a cheese sauce or I have even just thrown shredded cheese on it, then throw on some bread crumbs ( I like the garlic seasoned ones that come in a round box). Brown it up in the oven til it is toasted and bubbling. YUM!

Thanks. I have been keeping on it. How about you? How did your 21 day post assessment test go? Mine went alright, it pointed out somethings that I kind of knew was going to happen. I'm trying to fix them (little by little). I end up deferring up my sharpening the saw items. What mom doesn't do that though?

Here are my snow pics of Edwards AFB housing:

So many posts to catch up. So here goes, all of your tree pictures are beautiful...As soon as I put up my tree (hopefully Friday) I'll post some pictures. I can't believe I haven't put up our tree yet...I don't what's wrong with me this year.

Thank you all for the wonderful Christmas cards I've received. I mailed mine today.

I am very interested in the digital scrapbook. Let me know what I need to know.

That's all I remember at this moment (time to back through the posts to see what I missed).

He just turned 8 in March, I think that is when his IEP was re-evalutated. I have been so bad about remembering this stuff (school- I am almost done with nursing pre-reqs). So this is the first year he hasn't had it. He has been going to summer school also to not lose anything he has accomplished.
In March/April the SLP will evaluate him on his progress.

BTW...Spokane is just getting plummeted with SNOW!!!!!

I've been good about doing my daily planning and such. I haven't taken the post assessment yet. I know that I am lacking in sharpening my saw though. But everything else is going well with that.

Well ladies, this time the snow got me too.
No escape this time!! LOL I wonder how Amy's doing.

They actually canceled school for tomorrow. And right now they said on the news that all flights from McCarran are canceled. What a mess. You'd think it was a blizzard or something. Guess they just aren't used to it here. LOL
Stay safe and warm!!

I am praying that I get a decent tax return because that is the only way I can go.
I'm praying with you!! I want you there.

Brownies sound good... but don't worry, I won't eat them all.
Mmmmmm, brownies.

This is the most recent picture of my yard. My poor plants used to be tall, now they are all falling and getting flatter and flatter! hahahah!
How funny to see the pool with the snow around it.

So... I took advantage and now instead of flying in and out of LGB I am flying in and out of Orange County, and furthermore, I am arriving earlier and departing later. The best part is now I can either do a ride share, or catch a shuttle, so I will save at least $50, and I can think of a million other ways to spend that at DL!
That's great news!!!

I am going to a friend's party tonight--it's raining cats and dogs here today and the last thing I really want to do is drive to the beach but oh well.
I hope you had fun. It sounds like a good time. I love that white elephant game.

Oh man, I hate those! I hope you continue to feel better.

OMG, that sounds so good! I love anything that has to do with mashed potatoes.

BTW...Spokane is just getting plummeted with SNOW!!!!!
Uh oh. Be safe!!

I just finished watching Mamma Mia again! I love that movie. No way you can watch that and not feel good. :goodvibes

The ending is hilarious, right before the credits roll. I won't give anything away but the men look so funny. :lmao:
And I just love that song Meryl Streep sings while helping her daughter get ready for her wedding. Makes me cry. So sweet.

Anyway, I have no clue what we are going to do tomorrow. Like I said in my other post, the kids don't have school due to the bad weather. Unreal. A snow day in Vegas. I thought I was done with those when we left MI!!! :rotfl:

Talk to y'all tomorrow. Night.
