Evening ladies!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. :goodvibes

My favorite goodies to make are Snowballs, Soft ginger cookies, peppermint bark and turtles.
Hi, how was your weekend? Mine went by too fast!!
Ok, all those sound really good. And complicated.....:rolleyes1 See my post, I am old-fashioned and BORING! :rotfl:

Hello . . . . recipes . . . . hellloooooooooo
Yes, recipes please!!!

OH! Also what does everyone make on Christmas morning? I'm looking for something easy this year. Maybe a breakfast casserole or something? :confused3

Eggs benedict--sounds "fancy" and hard but it's really not.

An English muffin, a poached egg, a piece of warmed up Canadian bacon and make some hollandaise sauce using a sauce packet from Knorr. If you want to get "extra" fancy put a sliced olive on top. Delish! (not sure the kids would like it though!)

Hmmm. That sounds good. My kids probably wouldn't like it though, you're right. They are so picky!!

OH! And before I forget, I got your card yesterday. Thanks! So pretty!! :)

So I took Noelle to see Twilight today and I fell in LOVE!!!!!!

No, not with Edward. ;) With all the scenery!! It was all so pretty. I loved it. :goodvibes

The movie itself was okay. Noelle really liked it.

During the part where Edward sees Bella in the classroom, Noelle turned to me and said, "He looks like he's going to barf." :rotfl:

And then in that scene where he tells her he's been coming into her room to watch her sleep, she says to me, "That's freaky." LOL

I thought her acting in the hospital room was a little cheesy, as were some other parts but overall it was fine. I'm glad we saw it. Oh, and Wendy, yes, I heard him say monkey. ;)

One of Noelle's friends lent me her copy of New Moon, so now I have to try to get into that. Maybe this week.

Oh, and Wendy, yes, I heard him say monkey. ;)

Yay, he still loves me! :rotfl: I'm glad you thought the movie was okay and not horrible. :goodvibes

I agree with Noelle, Edward gives off a scary/creepy vibe in that movie at times. :scared:

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent the whole time cleaning, cleaning and cleaning some more. At least the Thanksgiving stuff is finally put away! I also got my copy of Photoshop to start working again and I spent most of the night last night playing around with pictures. I made a little change to the monkey bride drawing, I hope you don't mind Heather!

I normally make a breakfast strata (eggs, milk, bread, cheese and your choice of ham, sausage or bacon) that you put together the night before and bake on Christmas morning. Then my mom usually make a cheesy hashbrown casserole and something sweet like monkey bread. Add mimosas, bloody marys and irish coffee for a wonderful start to the day!

However, this year we will be at DLR, and we are having brunch at Minnie and Friends, so there will be no mimosa for me this year. I can't decide whether this is :sad2: or :lovestruc :santa: !

Hope that everyone had a great weekend. It went too quickly, but the tree is up and decorated, the Christmas packages for my family are put together, Ty's Christmas photos have been divided up and are ready to mail, and I am done shopping except for 1-2 more small things for my DH!

No, not horrible at all! I'm glad we saw it. It's funny because Noelle's friend who's really into the books, has a brother named Josh (two years older then Noelle) and he looks very much like Jacob! Dark skinned, with long jet black hair. It was interesting.
Oh, and Callie, if you read this, they showed that trailer you mentioned....The Unborn. Noelle just laughed and said it looked silly. Whew!

I love what you did to the monkey bride. I noticed it flashing on another thread, and I thought how did I miss that before??? LOL

So would you like to come clean my house. I am feeling very overwhelmed right now. There seems to be "stuff" everywhere!!!! :scared1: I'm so outnumbered with these kids. They mess it up faster then I can clean it. And right now the thought of adding more stuff to the mix (meaning presents) is making me seriously stressed. OK, vent over. LOL

Wow, sounds like you got a lot done this weekend! Good for you! :thumbsup2

Do you have a recipe for those things, the strata and hashbrown casserole? Those sound good.
And I think bring at Minnie and Friends sounds good! No cooking and no clean up. Can't get a better present then that! :santa:

If I lived closer, I probably would...seriously. Whenever I'm stressed or overwhelmed, I clean or rearrange furniture. I'm weird that way.

We had my youngest niece staying with us for a week, and oh my goodness the mess that girl made. How can one little person make such a gigantic mess!? :confused3

It wasn't my picture anyway. I stole it from zazzle I think. (or was it cafe press?) I wanted to find a monkey bride to surprise you all with. I can't do anything fancy like flashing words, but I thought my silly little writing around it was cute. It's amazing what you find when you google monkey bride. I did it just to make you all smile anyway. I'm glad some liked it, and I'm glad you found something to do with it that you liked.

I thnk I mentioned before that our Christmas morning breakfast is Monkey Bread. :cool1:

Wendy, wanna come to my house and clean? Just in time for the holidays? My windows are looking a little foggy and my ceiling fans are bad. :rolleyes1

Cheryl, I'll get those recipes posted as soon as I dig them up.

The peppermint bark is the easiest, believe it or not. I usually go to a cake and candy decorating store to buy my white chocolate and crushed peppermint. All I do is melt the chocolate in the micro. Add the crushed peppermint and mix. Spread quickly on a piece of wax paper and sprinkle with a little more peppermint. Voilet (sp?)................. candy that looks like you spent hours making. Last year for the first time I layered plain milk chocolate first and then spread the white peppermint mix on top. Very tasty!!!! I do the same for the turtles. Buy good chocolate and good caramel from the candy store. Form the caramel into little balls and press down a little, dab on melted chocolate and press in almonds around. I like to roast my almonds first to give that good flavor. Easy peasy. The trick is finding good chocolate. The kind I use is called Merckens. Hope this helps.

I like it the way you posted it too! It was just too tall for my signatures liking. I definitely got a big kick when you posted it, I never would have been creative enough to do that! :goodvibes Thank you SO much for sharing it with us.

Are you gonna provide me with Red Bull and Red Vines if I come? :hyper:

Hashbrown casserole is super easy, I think every woman in the south has her own recipe. I'll have to dig my recipe up, but it's just 2 lbs or frozen hashbrowns (thawed to get the excess water off), a can of cream of mushroom, sour cream, chopped onion, and cheese. My mother adds crumbled corn flakes on top to add a little crunch, I prefer to bake until my cheese is good and light brown. Yummy!

These sound great! I got as a present last week some 'crunchy peppermint patties'. They were like York PP with bits of pepermint candy crushed into the chocolate coating. Yum!

Now times that by four! LOL I guess expecting a teen to keep his room clean is asking a lot. :confused3

Wait, your supposed to clean windows and ceiling fans?? :rolleyes1

All that stuff you make sounds so yummy. Can I just come over and mooch off of you? :rotfl:

Oh yum! The only hashbrown casserole I've ever had was from Cracker Barrel. I love that stuff.

Well girls--I am just not up to DL today. (Boooooooo)

I have to call Molly and give her the bad news--my auntie's visit has just taken too much out of me--I wish she'd just either visit on a regular schedule or stay away!

Oh, and to top it off, there is MAJOR drama going on with the DBF (who today is definitely the ex-DBF). so my Mom is here (she was going to DL with me) and we are just going to go out to breakfast instead and I am going to try to get rid of the headache--ALL of them! Mom doesn't know about the DBF drama so that's making it doubly hard.

I hope your day got better. At the very least that you're feeling better.

sunday.gif

Good morning ladies!! I can't believe it's Sunday already. This weekend is flying by.

I'm thinking of taking Noelle to see Twilight today. She's reading the book and now wants to see the movie, so maybe we'll make a mother/daughter day of it and do a movie/lunch/shopping day.

I hope you all have a good day today. :)

(Hmmm, I wonder how many times I can use "day" in one post.....)

Saw on your other post that you had a nice time with you daughter. I'm looking forward to when I can take them out for mother/daughter days. I've tried in the past but right now they're a little too young.

Oh well, can't believe the weekend is over already. I need it to start over...:guilty: I haven't decorated my house for Christmas at all. The kids and I made a gingerbread train today but we still need to put the tree up and decorate the house. I'm just don't have the 'spirit' yet.....:scared1: What's wrong with me??? This is my time of year.

Here is my recipe for Cheesy Hashbrown Potatoes

Cheesy Potatoes

1 large pkg. frozen hash brown potatoes. (I like the cubed ones the best.)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup sour cream
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup cornflakes, crushed

Heat together the soup, 1/4 c. butter, onion salt, sour cream and cheese. Pour over potatoes in a large bowl and mix well. Spoon into casserole dish and top with crushed corn flakes and melted butter. Bake at 350* for 45 minutes. Serves 10 - 12.

This is really good for breakfast or any meal. My kids love love love this dish. Actually this is popular with everyone. You can't make too much of it. :rolleyes1 It also calls for optional 2 Tablespoons of chopped green onions, but kids usually like it best without. Besides the onion salt gives it a good flavor already.
