How fun about your friend.:goodvibes I haven't had time to read the whole thread about it yet. Today my GS is coming over, and while he is taking his nap maybe I can catch up a little.

Can you believe you only have 3 days to go? What kind of fairygod mother things did you buy? Where are you guys staying?

I hope you and your DH can catch up on all of the stuff you missed out on last time. Is he doing pretty good now? Will he be able to go on anything?

Have a good day! :flower3:

The recipe that Melody posted is exactly the one that I was thinking of. My brothers and I didn't like onions either as kids so my mom also used onion salt instead. Now, though I am all about the chopped onions in it.

There are a million different recipes for strata so feel free to experiment. My family loves ham and cheddar cheese, but we sometimes do gruyere and aspargus, or monterey jack, peppers and sausage. However the basics are as follows:

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hours, 10 minutes
Ingredients:
10 bread slices, cubed
2 cups grated cheese (cheddar or gruyere are best)
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
8 eggs
3 cups milk

Optional:
1 pound of Sausage, ham, or bacon
Vegetables such as mushrooms, peppers & aspargus

Preparation:
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease 13x9" glass baking dish. Layer bread, cheese and other fillings in dish. Repeat layers, ending with cheese.
In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients and beat well to mix. Pour over layers in baking dish. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake casserole for 60 to 70 minutes until puffed and light golden brown. Serves 8-10
I have lots of recipes like this also, but I'm going to give this one a try. Sounds soooooooo yummy!

Thanks!

Good morning, ladies!

I have not really had a chance to read back...I am at work and have a few minutes to spare.

Steph...I am glad you are doing ok after your mammo. I still have not had one. :headache:

I have to check out the recipes everyone is posting. I plan on baking this weekend while DH is out Christmas shopping.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! It is snowing here...let's hope it stops REALLLLLL soon!:wizard:

Happy Monday everyone. Dh had to work all weekend and since I was on my own to do chores I skipped church yesterday. I hated to do it since we already missed 2 sundays while on our trip but I had to go feed my parents animals and go to the store and talk dsd to work to I just wasn't up for it. My ribs are still hurting and now it has migrated around to my back muscle. The one in between my spine and my shoulder blade. It is kind of numb and it hurts when I try to turn to far to the left or breathe to deep. So I am in REAL good shape. I just wish this stupid thing would get better. It is going on 2 weeks now UGH. I have my kids field trip on Thursday which luckily I don't have to drive but just accompany them but I have to watch a bunch of 2nd and 3rd graders so that could get tough if I am in pain. We shall see.

But anyway when dh got home we DID put up our tree. It looks awesome. So one more thing down! I just need to finish my shopping. I have the little kids done except for stockings and I just need to get a few more things for dsd and something for my parents. I also need to call on Katy's party. Been putting that off. Dh didn't get a paycheck last week from being on vacation (doesn't get paid when he doesn't work) so I have been kind of waiting till this week's check. But anyway hopefully this week will be a little less stressful.

I am off to work today and things are a bit more caught up and the kids are back to normal school schedules although they only have this week and next till break! Crazy!

Hope everyone has a great day! Don't talk too much! Can't keep up! ;)

Thanks Jane! That does sound good. I think I'm going to spend all day Christmas eating. :rolleyes1

We got our shirts from Cafepress.com or zazzle.com
I bought mine from Cafe press, there are tons of shirts!!
I always forget about those sites! Thanks for reminding me. I'll check those out today.

Wow, not much longer before y'all are outta here!!! :yay:  Good luck packing. I hate that part.
How exciting for your friend!! :wizard:

Awww, but the snow is so pretty. :rolleyes1 (says the person in Las Vegas with no rain let alone snow!)

I watched White Christmas (again) and your post made me think of the song they sing on the train:

"Where it's snowing
All winter through
That's where I want to be
Snowball throwing
That's what I'll do
How I'm longing to ski
Through the snow-oh-oh-oh-oh"

Yes, I'm a dork, but I just love that movie. :santa:

Oh Kelly, I am truly sorry to hear you are still in pain. That sucks. And at the worst possible time of year too. :guilty: I hope you start to feel better soon. I'll say a little prayer for you. :grouphug:

I hope everyone has a good day today. I cannot believe this weekend went by so fast.

Happy Monday Ladies!

I got my first card today from Heather (Lilycat) and it made great time to my house...7 days including the weekend is great! All my cards are now addressed and ready for my carryon bag.

I slacked off reading the thread for a few days and I was at least 10 pages behind. I'm dreading playing catch up next week.

I get picked up at 6:45 tomorrow morning. The suitcase is only half packed. EEK! The house is a disaster and I still need to clean it before I leave. The parents come home really late Thursday night, so they need a clean house. Somehow I lost my remote for the upstairs tv. I tossed it across the room a few days ago. I also need to go to the store up the street. Need a few things and it's the last day for Chocolate Oranges at $2.99. They are a Christmas tradition in this house. Saving a buck on each one is great!

Why am I still on here with so much to still do??? Oh, right. To say BYE!!!!!!! Try to not get to 250 pages before I get back on the 16th.

Oh, speaking of holiday goodies, I just had to share this tea I found. Now, I hate tea. Never drink the stuff. Blech! But I do love sugar cookies so my mom told me about this tea she found at Walmart.

It's Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Holiday Tea, and OMG it smells just like a batch of freshly baked sugar cookies!!! :cloud9:

They also have Gingerbread Spice, Candy Cane Lane, and Nutcracker Sweet, but I have no clue what those are like. All the boxes are super cute too and would make a nice add on to a gift basket of holiday goodies.

Anyway, just thought I'd share for any tea drinkers or sugar cookie lovers out there. :)

No promises.....:rolleyes1

Have a wonderful time!! Enjoy the decorations. :santa: And I want to see a pic of you on Santa's lap. ;)

Probably!! :rotfl:

Hey Melody, congrats on 5,000 posts! I see you just reached it a few posts ago! :thumbsup2

Says the woman with almost 40,000. :scared1:

I just passed 500:)

HEY VIP'ers We are booked!! I missed it on Friday (at audiologist forever ordering new completely in the canal hearing aids for my son in the hopes that maybe he will wear them. Those suckers cost $6000, which is 3 trips to DL by my figuring. Thank goodness for insurance, and nonprofit children's hospital.) Anyhow, I had nightmares about not being able to book it and everyone being mad at me. (They are only open M-F, which I found out when I called on Saturday!) But...when I called first thing this AM, it turns out there was not a line up of people booked for the tour that day, so we are confirmed for Friday, March 6th, at 10-4. But, she said we could nudge that time around a bit after the entertainment schedule comes out, if we need to. Like if they have two parades, then one would be at 3:30. So, would we want to do the tour from 9:30 to 3:30, ending at the priority seating for the parade, opening up the evening for our dinner and other priority seatings?? Hmm....

Happy Monday everyone!

How is it fair that I am still sick? I get paid this week, so I'm going to make a Dr. appointment. Yuck.

Dawn, I saw about Emmers, that is so exciting! I knew you would be a happy monkey girl for her. :goodvibes I'm so excited for you for your trip this week! I knew it will be perfect and totally make up for your last trip! :wizard:

All this talk of food is making me hungry. And all this talk of fun appointments I will have to make when my age increases, is scaring the crappers outta me! :rotfl:

Happy Monday!!
I have been so busy. I have so much to get caught up on!!
My son leaves in 8 days for his dads house for 20 days. UGH...
I am trying to get everything together for him.
