We have already received a complaint about the dog "barking at various times during the day" but of course we don't know who put it in but we do have a feeling that it was the same neighbor. We don't have homeowner's association. The only thing I think she would claim is that my dog is a "public disturbance" but she does not bark 24/7. As a matter of fact she isn't barking right now, she's just laying down outside. She did start earlier today because of the gardeners next door. When she hears sounds (people, machines, etc) and she can't see them, she gets a little freaked out. But I stopped her right away and she was quiet.


I totally understand, when my dog it TOTALLY bothers me. That's why when we're home we correct her and stop her. She tends to bark towards the back of our yard (there is a different backyard facing our backyard) so I tie her down, giving her enough leash to play, eat, drink except to go towards the back fence. Usually then she will calm down and be quiet. If it ever persists more than that she comes inside. We are trying everything to get her stop barking (commands, rocks in a bottle, spray bottle etc) but nothing seems to work. It also doesn't help that she is a crazy puppy. We got her fixed already and really hoped it would calm her down a little bit but she seems the same crazy active dog. I do take her for 45 minute walks but once the other dogs start barking, she starts up too. I'm thinking the only next step is to get a shock collar.

She did use the term "sue".

We have not gotten complaints from any other neighbor, not even my elderly one on the other side of our house. It seems that this particular neighbor just feels like taking it all out on us because 1) we're the closest 2) she knows us.

UGH.

Absolutely! From now until we get back from Christmas will be crazy as I am swamped at work with the whole end of the semester thing on top of annual evaluation time. And, I am nearing the final stages of hiring a program coordinator, which is a position I supervise. So, in the next two weeks I will have 3 finalists coming to campus for full day interviews. It's a long day for each of them, and even longer for me as I have a lot of logistics to set up in advance as well as coordinating all the different groups of people to interview them. I am SO going to need our Disney vacation for Christmas this year!

And then once we get back and throught the craziness that is Vegas New Years (not that we'll be going out this year), it's time for Amy, Beth and I to take on the west side shopping areas and to treat ourselves with a little cheesecake action!

We're about 30 minutes from each other, and the warehouse store is about in the middle, maybe a little closer to me.

Speaking of the warehouse store, here's pictures of 3 things I got; I now have a favorite new jacket!!

This one is more of a dark army green, not really brown; it was $17.99, regular $46.

This one is a light army green; $13.99, regular $38.

This one is a neon green, close enough to lime green; $17.49, regular $28, not as good a deal as the others, but the color works!!

I forgot, I also got the 3 candle Halloween set that I think you said you got. I would think they probably have a lot of the same stuff in the stores in the southwest.

The city i believe...or the animal shelter...I'm not sure. I have to check the paperwork but it's in my car.

For these next two weeks I will be crating her for longer periods of time rather than leave her outdoors, just until school is out (12/11). Once I'm on break I will be training her, a little bit every day and we will definitely be focusing on the barking nuisance. I don't like to be a pest so I will try my hardest to break her of this bad habit. I'm going to the library to get some dog training books. I know we can meet in the middle and work this all out. I want a well-behaved dog so I will give it 110% effort!

I called a few days ago, and the CM I talked to did not have any information as to an opening date. But if you want to call again, please do. Maybe that changed.

Hi all. We weren't going to do anything today but things have changed a bit. Looks like the space shuttle Endeavor will be here early this afternoon. We'll be taking the kids to watch it's landing. The weather is beautiful here today. I hope you all have a great weekend. If I get any pics (depends if we'll be allowed or not) I'll make sure to post them.

the other thing I thought of is that community services and/or pet stores sometimes have special dog training classes--you might check those out too! Good luck!

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I had an excellent 4 1/2 day weekend! I was so excited to be hanging out on the dis for the weekend. Well, on Friday I had to take my computer in to get it wiped out. I had a virus. I just got it back today. So there goes my disweekendpalooza. Oh, well. I am happy my computer works again.
