When DD was younger we watched Blues Clues, Big Comfy Couch and Bananas in Pajamas. I have to admit, Steve was a cutie. In a geeky sorta way. Other than that, we didn't watch too many kiddie shows. As she got older, she got into Pokemon. UGH!
Oh yeah, we did the Big Comfy Couch too. Silly show.

Well, I'm off to bed. Sweet dreams everyone! :cloud9:

I haven't worked in a REALLY long time so I'm not up to speed on all the sales for the Disney Store. I'm sorry! As your inside source, I've failed you! I do know that (the last time I worked) we were having a 25% of the entire store sale and it was going to last for a while.

That's all I can think of, I'm sorry.

Ugh, I'm an utter cast member failure! :[

I love the picture in your new ticker. Is that Danny's latest? It looks like the top of the one I saved as my new desktop. He takes such incredible pictures.

Yep, I cropped one of Danny's photos for that one. Good eye! I probably should have asked permission, but as long as it's only used here on the Dis, I'm sure he won't mind. ;)

Steve was cute, but his "fake ignorance" drove me up the wall. He just played it up too much. Now Joe (the little brother that replaced him), HUBBA HUBBA! :lovestruc

My kids are currently watching Tom & Jerry. What time is that darn parade on? :confused3

The parade starts at 9. I just checked myself on the DVR guide.

Joe was to boyish for me. LOL I have a thing for "older" guys. Not that Steve was old, but you know.

People are already camping out at Best Buys around the area. Some since yesterday!!! :scared1:
I wonder what they are shopping for. :confused3
I haven't seen much in the ads so far. Then again I can't afford those $800 t.v.s even if that is a good deal.

Good morning everyone!

Camping out at Best Buy for multiple days??? I haven't been dedicated enough to camp out for anything since the NKOTB Hangin' Tough tour!:rotfl2:

Well, I hope they find what they are looking for :confused3. I will be shopping tomorrow and will probably be out quite early, but I can't imagine giving up today with friends and family in order to get a good deal tomorrow.

I agree. No material item is worth giving up that.

But come Friday morning......I'll be up and out by 3:30 a.m.!! Well, hopefully. That's IF I don't hit the snooze button, roll over and go back to sleep. :rotfl2:

Happy Turkey Day ladies!!!!! I'm off to the in-laws today. And then all of my sisters-in-law and I get up super early on Friday to watch the sun rise over Target.

Love the shot of Red Bull by your computer. :thumbsup2

What Red Bull? :confused3

(don't let Melody know! :rolleyes1 )

:rotfl:

Umm, that monkey bread picture is EVIL! I'm seriously salivating over here. Dh wants me to go to the store and get the stuff to make it -- and we just finished making pies!!!! Ugh! Sorry dear, it ain't gonna happen at 9 pm the night before Thanksgiving!:sad2:

I bet you'd do it for your Disneyland boyfriend!

Your niece is adorable. And that monkey bread looks soooo yummy! Now I want monkey bread too. UGH! And there is nothing here at work that can substitute for monkey bread.

Thanks, she's my little sweetie.

You can have some of my monkey bread!

Wendy, your neice is too cute!!! Love her apron set.
Where do you work?

And that monkey bread looks delicious! Where's mine? I'm waiting.......

Thanks! We saw that apron set at Target and it was just too perfect and cute!

I work at a small company in Sacramento that manufactures and distributes air vents... I know, I know, exciting, right!?

Green stuff is actually a jello side dish that the whole family always insists that I make. It's a tub of cool whip, tub of cottage cheese, can of crushed pineapple, and 1 package of lime jello. Stir it all together, let it sit in the fridge overnight and voila -- I'm a chef! :rotfl:

So that's what is in the green stuff! I've never been brave enough to eat it before. I tend to stay away from green food.

What do you mean you've never seen a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving?!? :sad2: :sad2: I don't think you're an American :hippie: Have you at least seen a Charlie Brown Christmas?

Beth doesn't watch movies that don't have princesses in them. princess:

Your niece is so cute!!! And the Monkey Bread made me want to lick the screen!!

How does your screen taste? :rotfl:

I know what you mean, it's not hard to impress people. I made Chocolate Raspberry Cream Cheese fudge a couple of months ago just because I felt like it and everyone was saying how good it was. Talk about an easy recipe: one can of frosting and one bag of chocolate chips; melt in the microwave, mix together, pour in a pan, refrigerate until firm. I had chocolate raspberry chips and cream cheese frosting. It was really good. You can mix together any 2 flavors. I want to try peanut butter chips and chocolate frosting next. YUMMY!!

I'll have to try that sometime!

If you look at the picture of my niece with the apron set on, in the background there is the Disney version of that picture hanging on the wall!

How was the monkey bread Wendy? It looks great! Mine looks like a volcano when I make it in my monkey bread mold. I should take a pic of it for you. It's wild looking!

It was/is SO yummy!

There is a Charlie Brown Christmas? :rolleyes1

No princesses, I understand.

Yeah, either from the posts or from the pizza we had delivered here tonight.

I had pizza delivered last night too! No one wanted to cook and we were too tired to go out to dinner, so pizza it was!

We did shows such as The Wiggles, Bear in the Big Blue House, Blues Clues and the like. I had a semi crush on Steve just from watching the darn show so much!

I had a crush on Steve too! My friend that I was talking about going to Disneyland with in January looks SO much like him it's scary!

Banana's in Pajamas! I loved that show!

Wow, just like at my house. I went downstairs this morning and my niece was watching Tom and Jerry and then at 9 we switched over to the parade.

Just a side note - Tom and Jerry are extremely annoying when you're hungover. :rotfl: I was ready to rip the TV off the wall! Thankfully I had my newspaper to keep me distracted.

So thing here! I was reading the paper and the guy said it was his family tradition to set up camp three days before black friday. :confused3 Is anything really worth that?

I'm SO disappointed with the black friday ads.

HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!

So I ended up staying home last night with my dog to ride with Diana (older sister) to my grandma's house today since she had to work this morning (starbucks). I stayed up until 3:30am!!!

Oh if you are an AP holder, have you done the Muppet labs "experiments" and helped Dr. Honeydew Bunsen? It's really fun!

Hmmm, I think if I moved to WA I'd never make it out of bed then. :rotfl2:

I watch plenty of tv, trust me. My kids just never got into the Peanuts characters, they never watched Sesame Street, and I couldn't even begin to name the Muppets beyong Kermit or Miss Piggy.

We did shows such as The Wiggles, Bear in the Big Blue House, Blues Clues and the like. I had a semi crush on Steve just from watching the darn show so much!

Oh gosh who doesn't end up with a crush on Steve (or Joe, for dangermouse, though I can't get into him)? And not just b/c I was sleep deprived, but b/c I absolutely credit Blue's Clues with helping Eamon through a language barrier...something about a male talking in the house during the day seemed to help DS. Worked the same for a cousin of mine when her son was the same age and having the same halt in language! :)

I can't get the page to load! Very frustrating. But thanks for reminding me.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We started off with monkey bread, then moved onto shrimp for lunch, and we're having a big dinner later around 4pm.

I hate to talk real quick and run, but life is hectic today!

Molly, I'm really interested in hearing more about your son's language barrier. I'm getting my oldest evaluated next month for speech delay's. He's 22 months, and only says 5 words. He used to say more, but has 'lost' lots of his words. It's months since I've heard several more. PM me if you want, but I'd love to hear any experience lessons you might have.

Thanks! Heather

First, let me say that if he has actually *lost* words, then my experience might not be right for you. Then again, kids are forgetful, and one day they know something, next day they don't, next day they do, etc. :) Or so I've noticed.

I can't say exactly, but 22 months does sound around the right age. Where it's not absolutely awful that they aren't talking up a storm, especially given that they are boys, but it starts making people nervous.

I'm not a worrier about those things, and I don't much care for western medicine, and DS's health care provider wasn't concerned, but I know from internet experience that other doctor-types would be nervous about it. So when DS wasn't talking much (he signed a little bit, and we could always figure out what he wanted, but in terms of actual English there wasn't much) it didn't worry ME, but I knew it would worry other people.

I say now I was starting to think about wondering about if I should think about being worried, LOL.

Growing up, we were PBS kids. Only. Our road was unincorporated and without cable even once it was invented, and we only got a few channels anyway, but PBS is all we could watch for a LONG time. I figured I would be the same, but then when I got a peek at what Sesame Street had become, I did NOT like it. NOT the biggest fan of Elmo, nor do I like that Snuffleuphagus was made "real". :) So I was at a loss.

One day I remembered that my friend really liked Blue's Clues, when her son was little (he's in his young teens now, I believe), and I decided to put it on. We both really REALLY liked it, and we started watching it.

And all of a sudden, boom, he had a language explosion. He was learning words every day, and things that I hadn't even heard while in the same room were getting into his head! It was astonishing and very cool.

DS has always had a late bedtime, mainly so he and DH can spend time together, so it's not that Eamon didn't hear a male voice, it's just, maybe, the way Steve talks and "interacts" is different from how Robert talks.

Probably about 6 months later I ran into a second cousin who lives around here. Our family is big and spread out and doesn't communicate, so I didn't even know she still lived here or worked at the upscale grocery store! She had gotten married and had a baby since I last saw her, and in quick girly chat she mentioned that her son was around that age and that his ped was starting to think about being concerned about it. I mentioned Blue's Clues. A few months later, I heard from her again, and the SAME thing had happened with her guy. He went from very few words to tons of words.

Now it could all just be coincidence, waiting it out, natural timing. It could. But for me I really think that BC had something to do with it. It was the way he learned, the words he learned, the way it all happened. Didn't feel like coincidence to me, but of course I'll never know. :goodvibes

I wish you luck with your little guy!

Do you have other kids; is he a younger? IF so, that might also be it. I'm the oldest, and I could always figure out what my brother needed. He didn't HAVE TO talk, and boy oh boy he didn't. I think he was 3 before he really started to talk, b/c all his needs were being met, either by my mom or me telling my mom, without speaking.

And then all of my sisters-in-law and I get up super early on Friday to watch the sun rise over Target.
:rotfl: That cracked me up for some reason.

It sort of looked like a doctor's office, so I wasn't sure. Hey, a job's a job, and any job that lets you DIS while at work, is a great one! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a good day so far. :)

Did ya'll watch the parade? I loved the float where they did the Rick-Roll. :rotfl: That was funny.
And the band, Second Time Arounders was cool. It's full of older people who were in a marching band either in high school or college. So cute to see the little white haired men and women banging the drums and marching along. :goodvibes

Hi everyone--at my cousin's house in / Carlsbad--hope everyone's having a great day!

Beth doesn't watch movies that don't have princesses in them.

I had pizza delivered last night too! No one wanted to cook and we were too tired to go out to dinner, so pizza it was!

Well, I think Lucy THINKS she is a princess, that's close enough, isn't it?

My screen tasted like plastic. I'll have to make the real Monkey bread soon!

We also had pizza last night, must be the pre-Thanksgiving meal. I only had to cook a few things today, I made my turkey and potatoes before we went on the cruise and stuck them in the freezer; that made everything so much easier today. Seems like the turkey takes up too much room in the oven while I'm trying to cook everything else!!
