Hi ladies! I'm trying to catch up too, so hopefully I don't leave anything out...

The DVC tour sounds like fun, of course I could never buy one, but my curiosity, it has been piqued. :upsidedow

I hope everyone is safe and stays safe from the fires. I know how horrible it can be to be close to a fire like that. :flower3: :grouphug:

My family gets our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, and the decorations slowly start to some out that night. Although, this year, I could give a care less if we even decorate. The family drama this year has been too much and I just stopped caring about everything.

Stacie, that cabin looks gorgeous! I would love to stay there. You must have had a lot of fun there.

I've been in a funk all weekend and haven't felt like doing anything at all, so I haven't. Hopefully I cheer up soon, because it bothers me not to care about anything, and I tend to have really bad nightmares when I feel this way.

OK, enough of my drama. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! :goodvibes

Stacie the cabin is gorgeous!! Did you say friends owned it, or did you just find it on the net or somethin?

Last but not least...................You all that live in So Cal, please take good care of yourselves!!! :flower3:

Actually its DBF's friend's sister who owns it. But it can be found on the net to rent out.

Thanks. The air around here is horrible. We are trying to keep away from anywhere the fires are. So far so good.

We had an amazing time. We are already planning on going back in Spring. The place was huge. I have all the pics on Myspace. When we go back we plan to bring along a few more people with us. The place was so big that we even played hide and seek at night. And yeah, it was gorgeous. But not so much that we didn't feel like we could relax. It was a great trip.

It took almost FIVE hours to get home (usually a 70-80 minute drive) and I was so stressed out and freaked.
 Oh man, that is nuts. How scary and sad for all those dealing with this.

I hope anyone in CA near the fires is safe.

But this year she will be 13 and wants to take some friends out to dinner. So now I just got to find an evening free to do so.

I also usually put up my Christmas decorations up Thanksgiving weekend. But as of right now I am just not really in the mood. I hope it changes. Or else 13 Christmas trees will remain in their boxes this year.
Dinner with friends sounds like a great birthday for her age.

Ok. Um, tell me that was a typo and you don't really put up THIRTEEN trees!!!

Oh, and the cabin looks gorgeous! I'll have to check out your MS pics.

I really want an opening shift so I can be done by 3:30am and then I can go black friday shopping just as the regular stores are just opening
Now that is good planning! :thumbsup2

Well, that doesn't sound good. Wanna run away and have a Vegas Christmas?

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is doing ok and had a good weekend.

Today was a great day. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jane (cheshiregirl) and Amy (bigskyernurse), both of whom are just delightful!! Very nice, down to earth and fun.

We met up at one of the Disney outlets here, which Amy had never been to. I think she's hooked now. :rolleyes1 LOL And from there we went to lunch at a nearby California Pizza Kitchen. I LOVE CPK! So yummy. Followed with some more shopping at an outdoor shopping center. :dance3:

It was a nice day to be out and about, and it was made even better by the great company. Thanks for hanging out with me today ladies!

After that Ruben and the kids picked me up and we went to Chuck E Cheese for Noelle's birthday. I am stuffed. CPK pizza for lunch and CEC pizza for dinner, with cake and ice cream. :rotfl: But it was all good. :thumbsup2

Cheryl, looks like interest is good for the tour! Are you keeping a running list of names or did you want me to?

Hi everyone, hope all's well. :)

Just got back from playing MouseAdventure w/Lesley, Chris, & my daughter Kelly. It was HOT, but the winds were blowing west, I guess, so the air quality was okay. The day was long, but we got it done. :)

Then we went to the Cove & had appetizers and refreshing drinks. Yum

Yup, it was a good day. :sunny:

Yay for me and Amy... it's like we were being checked out by the leader of the tribe. Apparently we both passed the first test and now have been cleared for the initiation ceremony in March.;)

Having finally met Beth and Amy I am now even more excited to meet all of the rest of you! March won't get here fast enough.

Anyway, thanks again to Beth and Amy for a fun day! I ended up stopping to get a massage on the way home and then walked into the fact that my DH had already made a dinner plan and I didn't have to do anything. Talk about a perfect day...:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

That's so cool Mary Jo! Sounds like a really nice day. :)

:lmao: Leader of the tribe?? :rotfl: Why do I feel like that Indian chief from Peter Pan? :rotfl2:

As for the initiation ceremony.......you have no idea....:rolleyes1

A massage??? :rotfl2: Did all that shopping tire you out? :rotfl: ;)
I'm glad your DH had dinner planned, and that you enjoyed your day. :goodvibes

Well, I tried to call home and they didn't answer, so I assumed that they were probably napping and wouldn't miss me. So, since I happened to be driving right past the School of Massage on my way home I decided to detour... 90 minutes and $32 later I was on my way :wizard: Sadly they are only open on Saturday and Sunday and they don't pre-schedule appointments (only take walk ins) and the wait times are inconsisent, but you can't beat the price!

As for the whole Indian Chief from Peter Pan thing, think of it more like Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. It's more fun to be sorority president, but that's just my opinion (and I'm biased)!:worship:

school of massage?? $32??? How can I live here and not know anything about discount massages, disney park outlet stores, and california pizza company? Geez I need a life!!

I have a great time with both you and Beth today! Girl time is fun!!

It's nice to put faces with the names. Can't wait till March!!

I didn't even think about the fact that you'd be having pizza and pizza today! Hope that was ok with you.

It was so nice meeting you. Paul (hubby) was so excited that I brought him Star Wars toys...he didn't even comment on the 2 big bags from the Disney outlet. My powers of distraction worked as planned...:woohoo:

Glad you had a good time at Chuck E. Cheese. Thanks for taking time to hang out. I enjoyed meeting you both...it's nice to meet some "normal" people in Vegas..

Amy

Ok ladies--here's another possibility for the March trip. I saw my Disney 'guide' (the fancy name they use for salesmen for Disney Vacation Club) last week (he was in Florida at the same time) and asked if it would be possible to get some of my buddies in to tour the new DVC models of the units being built at the Grand Californian during the Ladies Only trip (I know that some of you are interested). Anyway, he got back to me and responded that not only would it not be a problem, but that he could arrange a special mini-event tour for us (the models would be closed other than for us), Disney would provide some refreshments and a "welcome package" for each attendee (whatever that is). So, before I say "yes-let's set it up" I wanted to see if there actually was enough interest among you.

He indicated we would need to do it Thursday night (not possible--pizza party) or Friday night (possible--after Carnation Cafe dinner). The models are over near the Disneyland Hotel. I chatted with Beth, who indicated that the current plan for Carnation Cafe was a 5 or 5:30 dinner--which means that those attending the dinner could eat and then walk it off during a stroll over to the Disneyland Hotel/DVC center to meet at 7:30. It would probably take an hour to an hour and a half.

So, is anyone interested in doing this? There would be no obligation (in fact, in my experience even when you set up individual tours with DVC it is really low-key).

Thoughts?

This would be AWESOME! Count me in!!

I finally am getting my Big Bear pics onto the computer. I have almost all of them on my myspace. But I wanted to post what the cabin, aka chateau, looked like. This was taken when we first arrived.

The Windsong Chateau

This is so beautiful!! I want to go!

There's also Pineapple Malibu, goes great with pineapple juice.

and

Mango Malibu, goes great with orange juice.

Malibu is really great and totally girl friendly. :thumbsup2

You're making me thirsty! Maybe a little malibu would help me get to sleep. But at least I'm catching up on the boards. Who needs sleep anyways?

Morning ladies. We had an eventuful weekend. Saturday was our LAST soccer game and we won!! It was a GREAT game with one of our girls scoring the winning goal right at the end. It was a real win one for the gipper awesome goal!! Plus the other coach was a real jerk and ended up getting in trouble with the league. So it was nice to beat that team cuz they weren't very friendly. They didn't even say good game or anything after the game. BOO!!! No sportsmanship or anything. Then last night we had our end of the year party so that was fun but I admit I am GLAD it is over. We do swim team which starts in April and is EVERY day with swim meets every saturday that last from about 5 a.m. till 4 p.m. and then as soon as the season ends in July we only have one week off before soccer starts. And then they wanted us to do INDOOR which goes until January and I said NO WAY! I need a break!! We have been going NON stop for way too long now and we are switching swim teams this year and our new team starts in MARCH! So I NEED a break! Plus we do Girl Scouts too as I said and we have meetings every other week AND events that we do so it is too much.

I am so glad for the break now if only for a little while.

Plus Shelby (my youngest) wants to play basketball and that would have started in January but luckily she is going to wait and do it next year. AHAHAHAHAH! I am worn out LOL.

But anyway we leave on Thursday and I am SOOO ready! I still feel crazed though like I am going to forget stuff but at least I am pretty much all packed. I am basically wearing sweats all week cuz all my clothes are packed LOL. Just have to go to work today and wednesday and then we can leave. But getting through wed is going to be the worst cuz I have to get all my work done for the 2 weeks we will be gone. BLEH!

I don't know how I will EVER get caught back up with you all. Someone will have to paraphrase it all for me when I get back. ;)

Anyway have a good day! I am off to the salt mines! :)

Wow, that's cool! I didn't know about that. Not that I'd ever get one. I am so weird. I don't like massages, pedis or manis. I just can't get over some stranger putting their hands all over me! :rotfl:

Well, now Jane and I will make sure you have one! LOL Only I told her next time we are going to steal your phone. :rolleyes1 It didn't bother me at all, but you need a real break. ;)

Glad your distraction plan worked. :thumbsup2

Whoo hoo!!!! It's almost time! :cool1: Good luck getting your work done and don't worry, I'll give you some Cliff Notes when you get back.

Amy, Jane and Beth - You have to tell me what you ordered at CPK and if you liked it! I hadn't been to one in years and they just opened one up less than a mile from my house. I had the Hawaiian and thought it was way yummy, but I want to try something different next time!

mmmm Hawaiian pizza is my favorite! Yum-o!

It sounds like you all had a great day! I love days like that, just looking around with friends and having great food. I am planning on going to Phoenix with friends Wed, we always eat at the Cheesecake factory. We don't have one here in Tucson, so we love it there. I can't wait! :yay:

Hey Wendy!

Jane ordered the: The Original BBQ Chicken
Our most popular pizza, introduced in our first restaurant in Beverly Hills in 1985. Barbecue sauce, smoked Gouda and Mozzarella cheeses, BBQ Chicken, sliced red onions and cilantro.

Amy ordered the: Jamaican Jerk Chicken
Grilled Jamaican Jerk spiced chicken breast with our spicy sweet Caribbean sauce, Mozzarella cheese, applewood smoked bacon, mild onions, roasted red & yellow peppers and green onions.

And I had the: Santa Fe Chicken
Grilled chicken breast marinated in lime and herbs, caramelized onions, Mozzarella cheese and cilantro. Topped with fresh tomato salsa, sour cream and fresh guacamole.

We all shared and I think they were all really good!!! Then again, I never really met a pizza I didn't like. :rotfl2: Especially at CPK.
Here is their menu with some pics: http://www.cpk.com/menu/pizzas/

Hope you all have a good day ladies!! Ruben is off today and the Linens and Things near our house is closing and has things 90% off, so we are going to see what's left. Later!
