Hi Girls!
I just got back from a great week in the mountains! We went to Yosemite twice, and played in the snow at a spot just outside the park on another day. I'm nice and relaxed and ready to get back to work again.--Now let's see if I'm still saying that on Wednesday!:rotfl:
Anyway, I'm going to start reading backwards to try to catch up on all the gossip;) I hope you all had a great holiday!

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a really nice time. I hope that nice relaxed feeling you have lasts for awhile. :wizard:
Mine always disappears too quickly when I get back from a vacation.

Who are the Twilight fans in our group again? I think it was Wendy, Cristabel, and Callie.
Anyway, I just finished reading Eclipse. It took me a week which is forever compared to New Moon which I finished in about 24 hours. I'm not sure about reading Breaking Dawn. I read about it online and it seems weird. Is it any good?

Sorry, but I'm a "FIRST BLOOD" fan all the way! (EDIT: Ummmm, that would be "True Blood", NOT "First Blood! hahahaha!)

You know......real vampires.....who actually bite and everything. (And I mean e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! ;) ;) ;) )

Bill would love me. I'm AB+.

Hello everyone! Just checking in. I feel like I have so much to catch up on. You ladies sure do love to chat.

What is First Blood? A book? I Googled it and the first thing I got was the movie with Sly Stallone in it. :rotfl:
I could keep searching but I'm lazy. LOL Who's the author? And have you, or anyone, read any of Anne Rice's books?

Not I. :rolleyes1

Just thought I'd pass this deal along in case anyone is interested:

http://www.harryanddavid.com/gifts/..._mmc=Affiliates-_-Primary-_-k54384-_-dealnews

It's the Harry and David gift pack. We got one for Christmas from an old coworker of Ruben's and it was so nice. The fruit was really good and it was all packaged up so nicely.

It came with pears, apples, chocolates, nuts, and cherries. It says it's on sale now for $14.95 down from $39.95, free shipping too. You can order now and have it shipped through the end of March.
My Grandma has a birthday in February so I am going to send her one. It's such a good deal and I know she'll like it. (It says it's packaged in a holiday box, but ours wasn't overly Christmasy.)

OMG, I'm laughing at myself. "First Blood"?!? :lmao: That is a Sly Stallone movie from like, what, the early 80s?.....late 70s?

Don't know what I was thinking at the time. I guess I've had too many glasses of wine tonight.:p

I meant "True Blood"!

It's an AWESOME new series on HBO. The first season just finished though. Soooooo good. Easy to get hooked fast!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Well, that'll teach you to drunk post. Although I suppose it could have been worse. At least you didn't say anything to get starred out like Kelly did. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Now that's attractive. Will you look like that after the pizza and beer party on Thursday? :rotfl: I'll have to remember my camera just in case...... I need pics for another slide show! :thumbsup2

I don't think Kelly was drunk, (or was she?) just a typo.

I'm sure I'll still read it. I just wondered if it was as bad or as much of a let down as everyone says. I think my favorite so far was New Moon.

Ok, those first two things you wrote about are just WRONG. Nothing like that happens. And as for the third thing . . . well, by reading spoilers you're kinda ruining it for yourself, aren't you? Just read it, Beth. If nothing else, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you finished the series.

New Moon was my least favorite, but then again Edward was missing for a large part of it.

Well, you know me....... I hate surprises. :rotfl:

I'm going to read it. I've been lucky enough to have borrowed the last two books from a friend of Noelle's so that has saved me some money. But I'm not sure if this friend is done with Breaking Dawn. If not, I might just go out and buy my own copy.
I have to read it anyway because Noelle is eventually going to want to read it and I want to make sure it's ok for her.

I liked New Moon because Edward was gone. :rolleyes1 I'm totally "Team Jacob". But then I've always rooted for the underdog. (gee, no pun intended!)

That looks like someone I used to date.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for that link, Beth. I just took care of two February family birthdays. Perfect!

Hey all! I work for one day, and miss several pages of t-shirt discussion.

Why don't you all get the font and color and shirt you all want? I've already spent money on a new t-shirt and the transfers, so I'm still using the original image posted. I can't afford to do both. So even if all of you match, I'm not going to!

Just my thought on the discussion. Those that order from Zazzle will still look different from those of us that do the iron transfers (which it sounds like will be the minority!). Also, if I went with Zazzle, I would have to get an ugly man T. If I do it myself, I can have a nice woman's t that I know will fit. I'm really glad that Zazzl ethinks all women are of average size. :sad2: It gets to me sometimes. Oh well, they just lose my business.

I hope you all are having a good day! Talk with you later.

Heather

I will also be doing the transfer thing, so we can match!! Even if they are a little crooked and off-center :rotfl:

I volunteered my dh to do the lanyards again this year (he's a graphic designer). He'll incorporate the Tink image we are using on our shirts somehow and it will have your real name along with your screenname. I'm thinking we ought to stick with the same pink lanyards we used last year, and just replace the plastic sleeve portion. That way the returning ladies can re-use their lanyards from last year, and I can just order the same lanyards for the newbies.

Dh is SUPER busy right now, but I'll get him to come up with the design as soon as I can.

Sounds like a good idea to me! Are you doing the transfer shirt, too, or Zazzle, or neither? I can't remember, there's too many posts that I've missed.

Thanks Callie, but Oh gosh--I am such a tech idiot--when I did it before I think someone had posted it on a service where you could have it sent to your phone. Does anyone remember that service?

Edited to add: I found it! (Search actually worked for me this time!) It's on phonezoo.com--downloaded and all is right with the world (or, err, at least my ringtone-- now!)

There are some good Disney ringtones on there, I just downloaded a Pirates one that I'm going to set as my DS's ringtone and I made and uploaded the Grim Grinning Ghosts as well for my DH's ringtone. My oldest DD is Sleeping Beauty and my younger DD just got her cell phone (YAY! no more sharing) and I haven't set hers yet.

On another note, I left our camera at my FIL so I have to wait for someone to mail it before I have pictures to post, although I didn't take very many. We did go to Mt. Rushmore (it's only 30 minutes from the house) and got some good pictures.

And lastly, for anyone who prays, please pray for my oldest DD and I. She and I will be flying to Washington DC on Tuesday and then on Thursday she flies to Uganda for a study-abroad semester. She won't be home until May and I'm going to miss her more than even I can imagine!! I know it's a great experience and all that, but sheesh! I'm a MOM, and it's really hard thinking about her being gone for so long. I did get her and I webcams that hopefully we can get set up today to make sure they work. But I'm SO NOT looking forward to Thursday

Morning everyone. Wow you've been chatty since last night. Ok Beth and Capri talking about me? NO I was not drunk I just can't spell LOL.

And Stacielee that is exciting yet scary about your daughter. I know I would be a bit scared for my daughter to go away that long too! Prayers for you both!!

Not much on the old agenda today for me. DH is away at his side job so I just have the kids cleaning up their huge messes. I swear everytime I get this placed cleaned up they trash it again. I just got the christmas mess cleaned up and then we had Katy's birthday on New Year's and more MESS. Then we got THAT mess cleaned up and then the party yesterday and yet MORE MESS! ACK! So now I've got them cleaning up AGAIN. My recycling can is stuffed to the brim. And they only empty it every OTHER week so it is WAY full. It still has Christmas stuff in it! Anyway then I have to run out soon to feed my parents cats and pick up my pics from New Years and yesterday but otherwise that's it and I can relax the rest of the day.

SOOO not looking forward to tomorrow but in a way I am because I can start in on my new "me". I don't call it dieting but rather a new life plan. I don't diet persay but I just kind of alter my lifestyle as to how I eat and then of course I exercise daily or close to. I never go without any foods or forbid myself from having things although I do try to stay away from certain things but I learned a long time ago that trying to stop eating the things I love only leads to binges so I still eat them but in extreme modertion. It works!

I do try to stay away from all fried foods though and if I do find myself wanting them I eat them in very small quanttities but I find if you can stay away from them for at least three weeks you stop craving them.

But anyway I am anxious to get back to exercising and hope to see some results in a few weeks! I don't know if I can lose 20 by the girls trip because if I am REALLy lucky I can usually lose about a pound a week and the last time I started it took me a few weeks to lose the first pound so we shall see. But given my calculations we only have about 8 weeks so I will probably only lose about 8 lbs or less IF I can even lose that much. That is a realistic loss. We shall see.

Anyway I am off to run my errands and do stuff round the house. Have fun everyone and I'll probably check in later this afternoon. :)

I'm a twilight fan too, but I really only like the first one. I especially dislike the last one. It was just too... weird? Most of your spoilers are pretty much dead on, just a little off. I pretty much laughed through that book because I couldn't believe what was happening in it!

Your family will most certainly be in my prayers!

Things like Edward not biting Bella but instead injecting her with a needle?? What's up with that? And something about having to eat the baby out of her?????? :scared: And the whole thing with Jacob imprinting on a baby? I LOVE Jacob and it sounds like she turned him into a creepy pedophile!

I'm sure I'll still read it. I just wondered if it was as bad or as much of a let down as everyone says. I think my favorite so far was New Moon.

The last book is a little weird, for sure (not as good as the first one). Your spoilers are close, but not quite right (the first one is totally correct though - but you have to read the book to understand why). For the second spoiler, think of their skin - hard as marble, right? No baby eating involved though! She explains about the "imprinting" thing and not to worry - Jacob is not a creepy pedophile.

You should read the book though, just to see how it all ends. Now, if she would only finish writing Midnight Sun, that would be great! What little bit there is seems to be the most interesting of the bunch (and I am a Twilight fan - although I'm not sure about the hairdos in the movie - Jasper looked a little strange!)

Awww, I know you were excited for her and understandably nervous too. My thoughts will be with your both.

That's right! I knew there were more of us. I stopped reading the reviews and spoilers so I can just see for myself. But.......I'm not anticipating much, so if I do like it, I'll be pleasantly surprised. LOL

Oh good! I loves me some Jacob.
