Yeah, I think restaurants are desperate. We went to Outback (DH's favorite!) a couple of weeks ago. The service was horrible and slow. Every table around us that was seated after us had food. We had been waiting 45 minutes, and I had pulled out every trick in my diaper bag, and the boys were done. We still didn't have food. We decided to leave, and told the wattress. She said our food was almost done and she could have it out in 5 minutes. We told her that if she could have it bagged up in 5 we would take it with us, otherwise, it was theirs.
The manager came up with the food, and told us it was on her, and gave us a $100 gift certificate!

We were not rude, and did not make a fuss. We just calmly stated that with the little ones, we couldn't wait any longer. The manager actually told us that in this economy, they couldn't afford to lose any customers, and to please try them again with the free $100.
It is so sad to me to see so many stores closing. Especially the little stores that you know people depended on to live, and had worked really hard to get up and running. I would love to shop at them and help them out, but the fact is...they do charge more, and I need to watch my budget also.
OK, back to being productive!
Wow, that is so cool that the manager did that! I am sorry you had to wait so long with two toddlers.
Stores do charge more. I find myself buying more and more of my clothes at
Walmart or clearance racks. Which is fine...but I used to not have to worry about that. I just bought Maddie a bunch of summer tops and shorts at Sears for $3.98 a piece.

And the stuff was actually cute! No more Gymobree for this momma. I can't handle paying $20 for a top when I have DL/WDW trips to save for.
So I didn't get to sleep till 3am (didn't get home from work till midnight) and I must have hit stop instead of snooze on my alarm. Anyway...I normally leave for work at 715 and at 725 my dh had a leg cramp that woke me up...thank goodness! I threw clothes on, grabbed some random food and was out the door...no shower, no makeup, no teeth brushing..I didn't even use the restroom....but I got to work on time....I need someone to bring me toothpicks to pry my eyelids open...I am seriously tired!
On another note, did everyone hear that Bea Arthur died! The tall one from the Golden Girls...I am so bummed!
Ugh, Sarah! 3:00am?! I couldn't function on 4 1/2 hours of sleep. I hope that the rest of your day gets better. I hate doing anything when I am tired.
I heard that Bea Arthur died. So sad. I really didn't like the Golden Girls, but my DH loves it. She was pretty funny. I liked her sarcasm.
Good morning, ladies!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
I'm doing laundry and cleaning today. I need to pack and get my stuff together for our DL trip Tuesday.
I hear you girls about the Applebee's too. All of ours in our entire county closed (we had maybe 3 or 4?). They were all owned by the same guy and he went bankrupt. Sad sad.
I hope you have a great trip! I love packing when I know I am going to Disney. Are you doing a TR?
Bummer about Applebee's.
That makes me wonder if our AppleBees is still open. I drive past one every day on the way to work, I just never bother to even look.
We're having such a lazy day around here. Poor Ayden is missing a birthday party today. He says it hurts when he swallows.

His eyes are still all glassy and all he's doing is laying around. All he wants to do is watch Phineas and Ferb. He did a couple of puzzles with me then crashed again. I feel so bad for DBF Chris...he's doing laundry, running errands, cleaning the house....same stuff he's been doing for the past month while I've been sick.

I'd give anything to be cleaning the house....but that requires moving. blah!!!
Aw, poor Ayden! I hope he feels better real soon!
----I hope you start feeling better too!
Morning all. I never have noticed an Applebee's but they were running so many ads last year. Sad to see places close.
No one knew that Bea Arthur had cancer. Sad.
Heather, love that the Outback manager did the right thing. We like them too.
I had no idea she died of cancer. I just saw the headline that showed her year of birth and year of death. That is sad.
I haven't checked our Applebees...I have to say I am NOT a fan so do not go there if I can at all help it. But it IS sad to see business that have been around close down and so many buildings sitting empty. Even the owners of our local mall declared bankrupcy. It is times like these that I am happy to have the job I do...very little stress, good pay, and available overtime. It is a very secure job and I don't have to worry about whether or not I will be able to support my family. I am very lucky.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well.
I love Applebee's salads and Oriental Chicken Wrap.

I never really tried anything else on the menu. DH tries different things and usually ends up regretting it b/c it "ripped his stomach apart". Poor guy. We don't eat there often, when we do eat out it is usually at On the Border or TGIFriday's.
Heather, this is absolutely what the manager should have done, and I'm so glad she did it. And I'm sure you being pleasant didn't hurt, either.
I wonder how the MA girls are doing?
The MA girls are probably having a blast! I can't wait to hear how it all went!
I would much rather be at MA then at work on this pretty day, but it could be worse so I will try not to complain...too much~
Um, me too!! I would rather be at Disney everyday.
Just quickly checking in with all of you before I get back to working on my reflection and assessment essay, my PowerPoint presentation, and my communication essay. I'm almost done.
Good luck with your assessment and powerpoint! UoP makes us do a lot of PowerPoint presentations. I sorta like them now. I have a problem with keeping it short and sweet on the slides...I tend to be long-winded.
Is this your first week in class?
Afternoon Divas! My my my what a day! Words cannot express how glad I am to be on here right now. I'm struggling to get done with the semester. Art school is rough, especially right when I'm about to graduate. (I'm a photographer for those of you who don't know.) If you've ever had to write a paper and have had writer's block, try photographer's block. That's what I've had today but I think I made something work out for me. My stress level is a little less now so I decided to treat myself with some Diva love for a few precious moments so I can have my heart warmed before I need to go work on my senior thesis paper.
I just wanted to take a moment and voice my appreciation for how much you all make me laugh and smile. I barely know any of you but you've all made me feel so welcome at a time when I truly need girlfriends. I have a major change coming up (moving away from my family, home and friends 2500 miles away to SoCal) and the Divas are just what I need *tear*
I am so glad you are here, Bridgette! This is the nicest group of ladies on the Dis! The trip in March was a blast and I look forward to the next one. I am excited to see you and few other new divas joining us. You will have a blast! I PROMISE!

Good luck with your thesis!
Hi ladies.
I hope everyone is having a great wknd!
I am beat! This wknd has been so busy!
Now I am getting ready for his soccer party.
I am back to homework. I need to finish my essay.
Capri & Bridgette have fun with your essays & photo blocks.
I was just thinking of you and Cristabel with your mad crazy weekends!
Good luck with your essay!
Here are the images I made today. I couldn't figure out what I was going to do so I went to the park where I grew up and ended up making a project that sort of paid farewell to my little league days. Most of my work is about creating windows into memories.
It looks kind of dark but I took that photo on the bench then took the photo of the frame on the tree trunk, then photoshopped the bench photo into the frame on the tree trunk.
I took a photo of my old equipment in my parent's garage and photoshopped it into a frame that I put behind the duggout.
They're supposed to be extremely surreal. I'm printing them 22" x 16"
Those are nice!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the support everyone! I have a major night time outdoor shoot tonight so wish me luck! Lots of lights and color filters. I have a friend helping me. I pray I don't blow a circuit breaker! Better yet... I hope I don't have bugs flying up my nose!
Good luck!
