Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Okay, okay, we all know Stacie was referring to me...I used that tutorial to make shirts before...easy, came out great!!!

BUT as a disclaimer...easy, but time consuming. I do not know how the woman on ETsy makes any money, so while I would be willing to make some shirts....you will end up paying more than $12!! Shipping to me both ways and supplies, plus the shirt.

Also, I am not fancy, mine all have Mickey on them, but the colors are far more random than I'd like, so I am not sure that they would make anyone happy!!

That said, with enough lead time.....anyone who absolutely needs a special type of shirt (crews make me feel a bit chokey too)...let me know.

I am not sure that came out right. Take home message...not making 40 of them, but could make some. Maybe we could have a t-shirt making party at Cheryl's house!!

I am really tired tonight..and still need to get finished packing up my stuff for MA on Sunday. I work 8-4 tomorrow, then head to Cheryl's.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Wendy arrived safe and that we're having a great time but wish ALL our Diva friends were here!

Woo hoo for the parade. Not an exciting weekend here - hockey games every day and working, so busy. I'm sick (darn germy kids!!) and now I lost my voice from cheering at the game last night

Not sure what I was thinking, but I took on some extra work (to help fund Vegas ). I have more than enough work already, so I guess no sleepy for me this coming week............

Hey now, I didnt mention any names and maybe I wasn't refering to you. I do know other people on the boards you know.

I would think the majority could find a shirt on their own or order from the shirt place. But I know there are a few who have issues with finding a shirt size to fit, or having "crew neck" issues. So help to those would be welcome I would think.

Personally, I have a tie dye shirt. I got it for Halloween when James and I were hippies last year. Got it from Hippie.com or something like that.

Have you heard anything about the Nutro brand dog food? Our Maltese has been on the Lamb & Rice formula for years, but has recently been acting really sick, and I notice she's been refusing her food (we mix it with rice/ground turkey and Missing Link).

I just got an email from our dog agility group with a list of members who have sick dogs from the Nutro brand food. Seems like there is a small epidemic surfacing right now. Just wondering if you had heard anything about it? My vet is out of town until Monday, and I will make an appt. to take her in, but I am considering having the food tested.

Just curious if you have heard anything??

Morning everyone.

I had so much fun at Cheryl's last night with Cheryl, Dawn, Linda, Michelle, and Wendy, oh, and cutie Chase. I didn't get there until 8, and was going to hang around until Wendy got there, but I had such an enjoyable time I don't think I left until 1:30 in the morning! When I got there, Dawn gave me the most amazing gift that she put together herself that was a belated birthday, but in honor of my mom and dad. I am so touched, and honored she would spend so much of her time and talent to put this gift together for me. It's a small box that has been decorated with lots of beautiful touches and decorations, and has inspiring words like hope, love, faith on it, and when you open it it is full of little mementos that have meaning to me as a Catholic - the box is to inspire peace and all the positive thoughts that come with faith. It's kind of hard to describe, but trust me it is special. She also gave me a picture of the madonna that is just beautiful and some pistachios that will be gone before next week since I have no will power. Many of these things have a southwest flavor, which is perfect since I was born in El Paso, and ties to my roots. Just wonderful.

I was telling them last night about a video about some people in a boat someplace super cold, and they were watching three killer whales when all of a sudden a penguin appears and the whales go after it. You guys gotta see this video.

I have been at work for over 13 hours...I am tired. Still have 3 hours to go and I want sleep. I worked 13 days in a row, had one day off, and am currently on day 6 of another 13 day stretch. I am tired. Did I say that already? It's a good thing I am not listening to an online lecture...I'd be out!

Yep...I was there with my DBF and my son. We ran into some of the Diva's on Friday. We had been there the entire week.

I just feel so incapable of doing just about anything right now. I am pretty much not even using my left side. You should see me get dressed! It's a funny sight.

Awwww babe, that sounds terrible. I really hope you start feeling better soon. I think you need to get checked out. Not being able to use your left side because you're in so much pain after a big POP in your chest area sounds like it could be more serious than originally thought.


Callie - oh dear, your poor pup! And all those other poor pups too! I hope your dog and the others recover. That's scary!

I've got to get busy and write a darn self-assessment and reflection essay. I've had writers block now for three days on this assignment. I HAVE to get it done today. I don't know what I'm going to do.

Morning all,

You are so right about that. With being sick for so long it really was somewhat of a turning point for me. I have other health issues anyway, I'm on heart medication so it makes me more sluggish than I should be. So there were plenty of days before this that I didn't feel great. After going through this....I realize I guess I really did feel good then. I changed my outlook on a lot of things while I was sick. I was really excited to get better and change some things about me etc etc. This still is just holding me back so much.

I can relate. It got better for me and it will for you too! Play some of your favorite music, watch your favorite movies, be really good to yourself now to lift your spirits while your body heals.

My day is also going to include exchange shopping. I also have to go to my hairdresser's to give him some old doggie barriers I'm not using and he's lending me his first gen IPhone since I fried my screen. Not a good time to buy a replacement as a new one is coming this summer and I don't want to waste my upgrade price opp.

So far this is what we've decided.

We have six days, so we need six options.

Three days, we will all wear matching colors. (Looks like it will be lime green, blue, and red.) So you pick whatever style of shirt you want, tee, tank, sweatshirt, whatever, as long as it's red on the red day, blue on blue day, and so on.

Then one day we'll be wearing our old Tink tees from this trip. You can make one, we have the transfer image, or you can order one from Zazzle. IF you prefer not to have the Tink shirt, a plain white one will also work for that day.

So that's four days so far. One more day will be a tie dye day. ANY tie dye tee you want. If you already own one, fine, if not, you can order one of those Mickey ones, or go buy one at a store.

And finally we'll have one day with a brand NEW group tee that will be a design that we will vote on and make. So you can still make a design for that for us to vote on.


To break it down, it will look something like this:
Day 1 - Red shirts
Day 2 - Blue shirts
Day 3 - Lime Green shirts
Day 4 - New Group tee (to be determined)
Day 5 - Tie dye tee
Day 6 - Tink tee or white tee

Not necessarily in that order, we can worry about order late, but that's essentially what we are planning for now. I hope that helps.
