Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Here's a picture of Sassy. Awwww, she looks so sweet and innocent.....well it's a trick! It's Mrs. Marley in disguise. (We love her lots though. I can't say that she's not a fun dog.....she's definitely full of FUN! And she hasn't eaten our new TV remote yet, so, ya know, I have hope for her.)

I hope I can keep up on this thread......it is always very active & tends to jump pages before I get back to it!!!! Haven't gone back & read to see if I missed anything regarding next year's trip....I'm guessing it's a bit early for that.

I'm dreaming of hitting Disneyland as a true Diva!!!! princess:

What a sweetie!!! :lovestruc

First off--Sassy is adorable! I want a dog (Amy, shut your ears . . . )

Second--I'm hungry--and I'm at a client's office and don't have my drawer o' snacks! Aaaaccchhhhkkkkkkk!

Good morning ladies!

Capri - loved the picture of the moose! Eastern WA is beautiful! I have an uncle that built a house in Chelan. And then my grandparents and another aunt/uncle live in Olympia, which of course is in western WA.

Chelan is really really pretty! It's located more in central Washington, just on the very eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains.....gorgeous area!

Hello again!

You haven't missed anything yet. The dates of the trip have been set, other than that, we are still just throwing around ideas. A few pages back we have a list of those who are wanting roomies, and if they want their own bed or not. And we have also been tossing out ideas for meals, tours and where to take our group pic this year. Nothing has been decided though. Still just talking it all out.

Glad you are gonna join us. So do you have any suggestions?

Thank you!! I don't have suggestions.....yet! Will try to figure out what's been thrown out there & then I'm sure down the road I will pipe in!!!

Good morning everyone!! I just finished catching up from last night but was too lazy to multi-quote.

Capri, those pics are crazy. I just watched a show on Alaska and how the moose there are nothing to mess with. Scary stuff. Glad you hadn't let Sassy out yet.

Diznee Luver, welcome to our thread!! We would love to have you join us as an official Diva. princess:

As was stated, nothing has been determined yet other then the dates. It's still a bit early. But lots of ideas are being tossed around so feel free to offer any ideas or suggestions for meals, tours, etc. :)
If you have a pic you'd like to share with us, I can add you to the front page too. :thumbsup2

Thank you both!!!! I will definately have to keep a close eye on this thread...... otherwise I'll get quite lost! :rotfl:

Welcome!!! Glad to have ya!!! It's easy to get lost on the thread, but if there's anything truly important, you'll be able to get all the dirt on the first page, which our fearless leader, Beth, updates regularly.
My name is Michelle, by the way!

On a different note....I'd like some feedback from people about the Scavenger Hunt....This isn't anything "official" from the team, just wanting to get a feel for some stuff myself as we're gonna brainstorm this weekend.....
First of all, a number of people mentioned having rides on the scavenger hunt...what ones would people like to see?
Should we keep it just to DL or would you like to see not just DL, but DCA and/or DtD, too?
Should it be about the same length (it was about 2.5 hours), shorter or longer?

Thanks for the feedback!

I love that movie! Especially the midnight margaritas scene. :cool1:

I cannot believe that tonight I have to go register my son for high school! Seriously, when did my first baby turn into a high schooler. :(

I know what you mean! Yikes, they grow up so fast. Andrew, age 12 asked me to take him to a Chinese Rest. for lunch with friends. Well turned out to be a double date set up! His first date at age 12! He split the bill with the other kid and then asked me to pay him back because it was expensive ($23) and he didn't think he could afford it. I declined, but took the time to point out that with his earning power, he probably couldn't afford to both date and play video games.:rotfl:

It is just nuts! But anyway we were in Seattle and just wanted to take the Ferry over to Victoria and I had a LOT of problems just going over for the DAY!! !!

Hi Kelly,
The cruise sounds fun. Hope it works out. I grew up in Port Angeles, WA, which is a ferry ride across from Victoria. When I was about 12 to graduation, I guess, we used to walk across the ferry(in groups of kids only) with notes that we wrote and our parents signed saying we could spend the day in Victoria. No problems at all. Boy times have changed.

We'll get a Pirate Suite, you can have the couch! :thumbsup2

I'm back! I can not wait until my children are strong enough to get everywhere on there own power. They will walk a little, but tire easily, and I have to hold their hands the whole time.

I promised to kick Stacies boo-tay at Mario Cart in a little bit. Anyone want to join us?

Heather

HAHA-My 6.5 year old can walk on his own power, but I still hold his hand all the time, just to keep him out of trouble. His hand is taller now though!

He wants to buy Mario Kart for the Wii so badly. I have been holding out because I don't think I need to run out and buy a $50 game at every whim, but maybe it would be okay, if I pretended it was for him, but it was really so I could play with you girls:thumbsup2

I'm sad. My roses are already dead. :(

Kids are off to AWANA tonight, and dh and I are having some quality alone time. ;)
That is, after I vacuum, fold laundry and get the house ready for 2 showings tomorrow! Eeek!

Two showings, that's good. Two offers, now that's great:thumbsup2

I am a newbie so please excuse the intrusion.... But is this trip open to all? I would TOTALLY be down for a girls only trip. My entire household (including pets) are male! :scared1:

- tina

My household is all male too, well exceptfor the pup. Welcome aboard.

Exactly what I was thinking. Great minds you know.:3dglasses

Well, can't remember what I wanted to say here, but since it still stands, I'll leave it.

So what is she? Part Beagle, part Dalmation? Now that would be asking for trouble!
And hey, if you ever decide to make the move to Western Washington, we will find you an area you can afford. There are absolutly some of those places still around.

If you do rides for the scavenger hunt, it would have to be ones that you can pretty much be sure that the line will be little or non existent. Wouldn't want a team to be held back because of a really long line. Train, Carousel, a few in Fantasyland (ex Snow), Pooh, or maybe more of an attraction not ride, like Tiki room or the alternative view area of Sleeping Beauty or Nemo. Or let everyone know the night before to pick up a fast pass for a certain ride first thing in the morning. But even then, no gaurantee the time window will work.

Keeping it to Dl would be nice, but I would enjoy also doing DCA. If we do both parks, then the time would have to increase. No way could we do both in that short of time. And if we do both, more rides could be incorporated.

Well, Molly=--are you coming on the trip next year? Or do I need a roommate? I really want my own bed in any event. Let me know! (or if you want a different roomie that's cool too--)

When someone says "drawers" I think undies. So that is hillarious.

Yeah, that was my thought too. You don't want to know what's in my "drawers"

:welcome:to the thread!

Exactly - we hear them too and their meowing is unnerving because sometimes it sounds like a baby crying or like you said a woman screaming when they are fighting. There are 3 of them and they like to hang out in our backyard. When our little female escapes I worry about her!

That is creepy. Poor kitty.

Aw...look at those ojos! So cute!

What's in her drawers? Maybe something YUMMY! :rotfl:

Kelly~ I live in Eastern Washington, it isn't green over here. Its brown, hilly, farming towns, although I live next to a nice smelly lake, I wish I lived in Western Washington where its green!!
Man that is scary about the lock down. How's your momma? She is such a sweet lady! Have you checked Orbitz for cruises? Yesterday I was checking them out. I would love to do the one to Cabo! But with Jordan's dad in Indiana its hard to get a passport.

Holy cow woman you have one busy weekend ahead of you WHEW!! Yeah I have heard that about Eastern Washington. That it is kind of like Nevada. I used to drive through part of the bottom half of Eastern Washington (Jordan Valley) when I used to go to Boise with my ex all the time (actually Emmett) BLEH. That's where his family lived and every flippin 3 day weekend he wanted to drive up there. MAN that was a long drive. All through ugly northern nevada and the bottom of Eastern Washington and then in through the bottom of Idaho. It was a LOOOONG drive. UGH. But anyway I hear ya. I am SO not into the brown LOL. LOVE the green and the pine trees. I so miss living in the west part! I lived in Vancouver and worked in Portland! Loved it!

Mom's good and now would you believe I got a thing this morning about cheap flights to New York and DC so now she has me checking on going to D.C. Really she just wants to take a trip with the girls. We usually always try to do a summer trip with them and it usually ends up being Disney but we are kind of burned out and I think the men and everyone would have a cow if we went again and honestly I never thought I would say this but having JUST gone a few weeks ago I honestly would rather go somewhere else. I am sure I will be having withdrawals when you all go in Oct and Dec and be MORE than ready to go by the girls trip but I am def ready to go on a diff trip. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to go on a cruise since I have never been but I have ALWAYS wanted to go to NY or DC too. So now I am looking into that as a possibility too. If I can get this 69 flight. All the museums and stuff there are free and summer is their off season believe or not cuz congress is out of session then. So who knows where we will end up. :)

If the scavenger hunt involves rides (which would be so much fun!) I think it should be longer.

We could just keep it in DL since there's so many details and rides there, but I'm not opposed to the idea of DCA.

Which rides?.....heck, at DL, you could use any of them and I'd be thrilled! I love them all. I like most of the rides at DCA too.....except I really don't like TOT but I will ride it if I have to, if someone holds my hand and drags me onto the elevator. :scared1:
