Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone's day is off to a good one! :goodvibes

Pixie dust for the sick ones and those packing and traveling soon!:wizard:

Sorry I am not good at those cute little graphics so I enjoy all of yours!

Wow...love the moose! I'm jealous of your view! The only 'wildlife' I see most mornings are a couple of tomcats waiting for our female kitty to escape...she's fixed but they still like her so we don't let her out on purpose but she's a good escape artist. I grew up in a rural area and although I do love the city I miss having views of things other than a house!

I guess I should roll out of bed and get ready for work. Yawn...

Good morning everyone. :wave2:

I was about to let my dog out this morning, and keep in mind my dog is like Marley, and all of a sudden I looked up right before I let her out (as she was barking her head off) and this is what I saw......startled me this morning for some reason. I wasn't expecting a visit. Good thing I didn't let Sassy out. I could've had a dead dog on my hands.....or maybe a dead moose. Tough call.:goodvibes

I would die if I saw anything like that in my back yard.

Morning all!

Good Morning Divas!:)

Capri, I would die if I saw that in my yard, too.:scared1:
Obviously, Stacertia and I are city slickers not used to anything in the wild.

He looks kind of beat up on his upper back. Are Moose mean spirited, gentle creatures or somewhere in between? He does look huge, though and I am afraid he wouldn't be too frightened by Sassy.

Wendy, how are you feeling this morning? I hope a lot better.

January I hope she's feeling better soon.
Capri those pictures are so nice. My dog would have run in the opposite direction.
Morning Dawn and Debra.

I hope everyone has a great day. I'm headed to the last day of my writing class....then back to normal work tomorrw.

steph

Thanks Steph! I hope you have a great day in class.

Good morning ladies!

Cristabel, you are one busy bee! You go girl!

January, I hope Maddie feels better! Poor baby.

Capri, that thing is HUGE!! How awesome is that!?

What's everyone doing today?

Hi Courtney!
Thanks...I think Maddie is starting to feel better. She just ate two bowls of Trix. It's amazing because she hardly eats as it is. I think she is getting her appetite back.:cool1:

Morning all!

First off Capri that is so cool! I am sure YOU probably don't think it's cool cuz you have to deal with these guys all the time but I would think it is neat to wake up and see that. Nature at it's best. That is one thing I miss about living up in Washington is the beautiful scenery. It is so dang ugly here where I live. I HATED having to come back here. Esp at this time of year or as it gets closer to summer because it gets REALLY brown and ugly here. I really miss the green and the pines etc. Luckily my parents have a place in Truckee and we can at least escape up there once in awhile and it is beautiful but still not even quite as nice sometimes as washington but the one good thing I DO have to say about Truckee is when you go in the summer you get the nice pines etc AND it is warm. ;)

But anyway yesterday as I said I had my apt and then we had that crazy thing with the school and last night the principal sent out a message letting us know what was going on. Apparently the cops tried to question some suspect in a case and he bolted and they were worried he would go to the school and so they locked it down. It was locked down for about 2 hours and we were told we could not pick the kids up till they called us. I have never had that happen before so it was pretty scary especially since at the time we didn't know how close this "situation" was to the school. But luckily they did let us know later what happened and how close it actually was to the school etc.

But I was out buying Shelby's birthday present and I was so torn as to whether I should try to go over by the school and just see if I could at least see anything or what but I stayed away but that is hard when both your kids are there. But anyway it all was ok thank goodness and I asked the girls if they were scared and they said no so obviously they were better about it then I was LOL.

Anyway then last night we had swim and we had to take them RIGHT after to Awana. It is tough this week and next because normally it is from 6-8 and swim doesn't end till 7 and by the time they get out of the pool and get dried off and we drive over there it was almost 7:30. So they miss almost the whole thing but starting the first of May it switches to 6:30 so then we should be able to get them there by hopefully 6:45 or 7 at the latest so then they should be able to go for at least an hour. And Awana ends June 3rd anyway so I didn't want them to miss the end of the year stuff. So I was glad it could work out. Plus the two girls and Shane are getting baptized on June 7th so I am excited for them. They have been getting prepared in the Awana classes and Shane is taking a class this Sunday and then another in May. He has never been baptized and either have the girls. So I am excited for them.

Anyway then we came home and watched Lost. I was a bit dissapointed cuz I had pretty much already seen most of that stuff but like some of you we always look up who gets kicked off anyway and I record it and watch the show the next day anyway. Cuz I am addicted to Lost and I would rather watch that live and watch Idol the next day. I am SO addicted to Lost that I am really going to miss it when it goes off the air next year. It is just SO good. I can't believe that it is almost the season finale AGAIN this year! UGH!

Anyway today I have nothing but housework but it is the girls short day at school so I have to hurry to get it all done before I have to pick them up. And we don't have swim tonight cuz their is a meet at the HS so I am looking forward to a relax nigh!! Just watch Survivor and CSI!! YAY!

Hope everyone has a great day and Wendy hope you start to feel better!!!

Kelly---that is scary about the lockdown. I am glad that the girls were okay and not scared.

My MIL lives near Elk Grove and I agree..it gets ugly in the summer. At least there are palm trees.:thumbsup2

I was so ready for Lost last night and it was just a recap:headache:. I am with you...I will be sad when it is all over.:guilty: We used to have a some friends and my parents who were so into the show and slowly people just stopped liking it. Now it is just me and my mom. My DH said it got boring.:confused3 He's nuts.
lol

I hope you have a good day!

OH MY GOODNESS that moose! That kinda makes me giggle. I live in Sacramento...pretty busy city. This morning on my way to work I saw two deer running down the street, yes the street. It was close to the river and deer frequent that area obviously but it was just funny to see them running down the street like that. THankfully they were headed in the direction of the river!

I love deer! They are so beautiful! That would be quite the sight in a city as large as Sacramento.

Kelly~ I live in Eastern Washington, it isn't green over here. Its brown, hilly, farming towns, although I live next to a nice smelly lake, I wish I lived in Western Washington where its green!!
Man that is scary about the lock down. How's your momma? She is such a sweet lady! Have you checked Orbitz for cruises? Yesterday I was checking them out. I would love to do the one to Cabo! But with Jordan's dad in Indiana its hard to get a passport.

Thanks, Debra.

Yeah spring time kills me!! But atleast Saturday is the only day they both have games on the same day. Most of the time I bring my Lit book & read my stories. Tuesday I had my laptop working on my essay at the picnic table while watching the game. I have to make good use of my time.

I’m glad nothing major happened at the school. That’s still really scary, especially when the school tells you something’s going on, but they don’t tell you what.

That's a she moose in the pictures. :goodvibes If it was a he, then he would have the big moose antlers. Hmmmmm, I wouldn't say moose are mean spirited unless a momma moose feels her baby is in danger. If that happens, watch out! The momma moose would attack and attempt to kill you by beating your down with her front hoofs. But other than that, they won't pay much attention to you, and if they see a person, usually they'll just go in the opposite direction. The moose in my pictures would've totally been frightened by Sassy......I just quietly stepped on to my back porch to take a couple of pictures of her and she spooked a bit and moved away. So Sassy would've scared the peewaddlins out of her.

Kelly~ I live in Eastern Washington, it isn't green over here. Its brown, hilly, farming towns, although I live next to a nice smelly lake, I wish I lived in Western Washington where its green!!

It's definitely green and mountainous here in Spokane and also east of here in north Idaho and western Montana, but just outside of Spokane going west......it's like a desert with farms all around......and eventually you get to where Deb lives. And it's pretty much like that until you get to the eastern edge of the Cascade mountain range on your way to Seattle.

I'd love to live in Western Washington too, but real estate is pretty expensive over there.

Kelly - I'm so glad everything turned out okay at your girls' school. That would scare me if it happend at Ryan's school. :scared:

Wendy - I hope you're feeling better today. :flower3:

January - Poor Maddie. I hope she starts to feel better pretty soon.

Get better Maddie!

Cool!
You have the best backyard ever! :thumbsup2

I guess I had a major blonde moment....... I just realized you have set the dates for next years trip!!!! :yay: I really, REALLY want to join in next time!!!! I enjoyed meeting a few of you at the "Dole Whip for Bawb" (I was the extra & my hubby took the pics) :upsidedow

I hope I can keep up on this thread......it is always very active & tends to jump pages before I get back to it!!!! Haven't gone back & read to see if I missed anything regarding next year's trip....I'm guessing it's a bit early for that.

I'm dreaming of hitting Disneyland as a true Diva!!!! princess:

Those tomcats are vicious! We have a few in our neighborhood. I can hear them fighting in the middle of the night. It sounds like a woman screaming. Seriously.

Exactly - we hear them too and their meowing is unnerving because sometimes it sounds like a baby crying or like you said a woman screaming when they are fighting. There are 3 of them and they like to hang out in our backyard. When our little female escapes I worry about her!

Good morning ladies!

Capri - loved the picture of the moose! Eastern WA is beautiful! I have an uncle that built a house in Chelan. And then my grandparents and another aunt/uncle live in Olympia, which of course is in western WA.
