Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

So you don't need a passport to go to Ensenada?

Segway is a lot of fun!

I guess you don't need one if you're taking a ship there and back from the U.S.--but I know crossing the border otherwise you need one.

I gave up and got one a year or so ago--just so I would be prepared in case I got the chance to go somewhere fun and needed it. It was really easy.

Hey Katie.. glad your computer is up again.

Hi MoxoXPrincess... I'm glad you and your mom are going to come to opening night.. it will be great fun to meet her.

Wendylouwho.. i can't waitttttttt to see youuuuu in 2 more daysssssss.

International travel:

U.S. Citizens can not be denied entry to their own country. As of June 1st everyone entering the US must present an approved document such as a passport, passport card, enhanced drivers license or Nexus/Sentri card. However, US citizens who have left the US and are seeking reentry to the US can not be denied entry even if they have no documents whatsoever. They will be questioned and it may take a little bit to determine their citizenship, but they can not be denied. Other countries have different requirements for entry. So say you are going on a cruise out of the US to mexico, if Mexico only requires a birth document for children then they would be fine. However, international flying does require a passport so if you are flying with children, they would need one.

I'm kinda over tours. They just don't seem worth the big bucks they cost. I'm all for no tours and just enjoying the park.

Im sorta with you on tours. I've done most of the ones Ive wanted to already.

So is Ernie like the turd that won't flush?

Tag fairy....check over here.

Thank you to everyone for the get well wishes! :grouphug:

I just found out I get to work late tonight. I was supposed to have a kinda date tonight, but I'm gonna cancel, I'm just not up for it and I want to rest up for this weekend! :woohoo:

Details chica, details.

And it has to be one that you eat with a fork!

Miss Sally is a lady after all.

I wish I could mix up a potion to bring *just* the right man to wendy and cheryL.. hhmmm... like in that movie Practical Magic... have any of you seen that?

Well after all this time i've been waiting for the twinikins.. they aren't coming.. and i've had their lunch ready since 12..

You mean a guy with two different color eyes?

I love that movie! Especially the midnight margaritas scene. :cool1:

I cannot believe that tonight I have to go register my son for high school! Seriously, when did my first baby turn into a high schooler. :(

Now that is some scary stuff :scared1:

My computer crashed again on Saturday night & when I was last here, the thread was on page 17. I started to go back and read, but I started to get crossed eyed around page 30.

Stacie~I still need a roomie since my old roomie is with a new group of ladies (one of them is you :snooty:). But if you decide to get a suite, I'd love to join you guys. If not, I'll make other arrangements.

Beth~ I'd love to do the Thunder Ranch BBQ for your b-day in October :goodvibes.

I know I missed a whole lot more so I'm going to page 1 to see if there were any other updates while I was gone.

No worries Kate.....I will get you hooked up with the roomies. Your roomie was so great, I don't think I want to let her go. We'll either do two connecting rooms, or one suite.

Do you mind sharing a bed? Or sleeping on the roll away?

Just need to check.

Hey Girlie Girl.. How are you doing? They have great chemistry on Bones.. He's a cutie.

I loved the series Sex and the City... the fashion was fun.. but i think it was the imperfection of the characters that made it so investing.

Hi Kelly, I'm glad the girls are alright! Tell Your MaMa Hiiiiiii!:goodvibes

I agree! I love watching each week and the past couple of weeks they have had 2 episodes! Hey Kelly, I second the saying HI to your Mom! I really enjoyed getting to know her and you!!! We hav some great pics of you and I from the breakfast!

BigHugTaCKLeHug for Stacie.. HoLa ChiCa.. hhmmm... i was thinking more along the lines of a guy that could ride his horse backwards!

Hi Ladies! Hope you are all doing well. :goodvibes Last Friday I took my little sister to DL. I got her the 2fer for So-Cal Residents. She was on spring break last week. I took the day off and we got to the park close to 10am. The crowds were not as bad as I expected. We were able to get on some rides in less than 10 minutes. I took her to Village Haus in Fantasyland for lunch. She never ate there before and she liked their burgers. :thumbsup2

We walked by Big Thunder Ranch and apparently they turned into character dining. They have bbq chicken, ribs, fries, corn bread, coleslaw, beans, etc. The cost is $28.99 for adults. I'm not sure about the kids price. The only character I saw as Jesse from Toy Story. The CM told me that they just opened it a few days ago. I asked my little sister if she wanted to try it but she said no.

We had a fastpass for Indie and decided to ride it. When we got to the area just before the first stairwell, the ride broke down. :sad2: We waited and waited and the CM told us that if we were to exit the ride that we wouldn't be given a fastpass. We ended up waiting almost 40 minutes and still no imrovement. :( Finally we just decided to give up and leave. Luckily the CM gave us a fastpass and we used it for Space Mountain. It was close to 2:30pm and the crowds in the park were starting to grow. We ended up leaving early because it was getting really hot and crowded in the park.

I hope you guys are having a good day :goodvibes:

Yeah she is great :). I don't mind sharing a bed or sleeping on a rollaway or sleeping on an air mattress. I'm pretty easy going ;).

Thanks so much for all the info on the passports!! I just would hate to have my mom spend all that money to get there and found out we had a problem know what I mean? I know when we took the girls to Canada while Shane was in Iraq I didn't know you need a letter from the other spouse to take your kids out of the country. I didn't even know THAT. I guess that is a new thing too with all the spouses stealing kids etc. And we are not even divorced or whatever. It is just nuts! But anyway we were in Seattle and just wanted to take the Ferry over to Victoria and I had a LOT of problems just going over for the DAY!! I don't even remember how we got around that one but I know if we take them on this cruise I will have to get like a notarized letter from him saying it is ok for me to take them on this trip. But I am glad I won't have to hassle with the passports because to even get passports we BOTH have to go to the passport office so they know that we BOTH approve of it and yadda yadda. I am glad don't get me wrong that they go through all these measure to protect kids from parents that kidnap them but boy it can also make it tough if you are just trying to get something done cuz you have to set aside a whole day and make sure you have all the papers in order etc etc. It's not like I can just take care of it like I do with everything else.

I am just glad that I have mine. I will be honest though I will be glad when I renew mine cuz my last picture is just awful LOL.

Anyway Thanks so much Dawn and Sara for remembering mom. I will be sure and tell her. She is so excited about this and everything. She of course doesn't have the time to get on the thread but I tell her what is going on and she wants to participate in the next exchange in October!!

So you don't need your passport at the ports to get off?

Where is Theresa? She is MIA today. Is she actually working??

I cannot believe that tonight I have to go register my son for high school! Seriously, when did my first baby turn into a high schooler. :(

And my youngest just got registered for high school! I'm way ahead of you!!!

Heather and I are willing to take a couple of roomies... Any takers? Especially if we get a bigger room/suite. Connecting rooms would be fun, too!!

Segway is a lot of fun!

The person I talked to at Carnival said not until December 2009. :confused3

I guess you don't need one if you're taking a ship there and back from the U.S.--but I know crossing the border otherwise you need one.

I gave up and got one a year or so ago--just so I would be prepared in case I got the chance to go somewhere fun and needed it. It was really easy.

I just don't want to spend the money. We are only paying $199 for each for the cruise a passport is what, $100??:confused3

When we took our cruise around Europe, we didn't. We only used our passports when we flew INTO Rome. But stopping at the ports (we stopped in different countries) we didn't use our passports. That was 2005. Not sure about now though. I'm pretty sure it's the same.

Awesome! I know about the both parents thing for passports. We are getting my daughters on monday...I paired it with my dental appointment and looking for new glasses at costco since I had to take time off work and my dh has mondays off. We decided to go with the passport because they are so much easier and you just never know when a great deal might come up or someone might offer to take me to europe! I hope you have a great trip! Just be sure to check the requirements of whatever country you're going to and deffinitely get the letter about the spouse notified with specifics about the trip and the spouses contact information. Wish I was going!

Stacie~ I wouldn't mind rooming with you and Heather . I just need to room with someone to save costs.

Heather and I are willing to take a couple of roomies... Any takers? Especially if we get a bigger room/suite. Connecting rooms would be fun, too!!

If I get to go I will room with you! (We are talking about the 2010 trip, right? Are there suites at the HOJO or are you staying on site?)

I'm here :wave2: I'm trying to be disciplined with work - don't laugh too loud :rotfl: It's been a bit crazy work-wise, so I had to really concentrate (my brain hurts now!).

Beth - I know, it's hard to believe about high school. Here high school starts in grade 8, so Jesse is actually almost finished his first year of high school :scared1: Can we say feeling OLD?????

And my youngest just got registered for high school! I'm way ahead of you!!!

I will be looking for a roomie.....do you take DIS DIVA newbies? :)

Very flattered over here. I'm flexible. It'd be great if we can get the connecting rooms. I can picture how the late night talks will go now....:lmao:
