Jen: Sunday nights are generally good for me--when is the marathon exactly so I can put it in my calendar? I think both the Hearthstone Lounge and Napa Rose lounge are open pretty late. and . . . . if I can gear my self up for such a long flight it is a distinct possibility that I may want to go to Disneyland Paris at some point. Of all the "overseas" parks it's the one I would be most likely to go to. Wouldn't that be fun?

HALF marathon is Sunday, September 6. 5k is Saturday. I'm not sure what time is starts, but I'm thinking probably before 8am (maybe way before).

Yippee on Paris! Let's pencil a DIS Diva DL Paris trip for Spring 2011. Springtime in Paris...

Jenn... Hey.. if we plan for it ..i'm in for a Disneyland Paris trip.. i just need awhile to save for it. CheryL.. woo Hoo..that sounds like a super great trip!

Woohoo!:woohoo::woohoo:
Springtime in Paris...

Cheryl.. okay in 2 years we go to Disneyland, Paris and Jen must meet up with us. And bring wonderful swiss chocolate:goodvibes

I will bring LOADS of delicious chocolate. Promise. :goodvibes
And I'll have a year and a half of research under my belt, so I'll bring the very best stuff. :cloud9:

Katie: Hope you're feeling better. Lots of good wishes for the crap to melt away leaving room for all the good stuff to come your way! :wizard::wizard:

Start saving now ladies. I see a trip to Paris in our future! :thumbsup2

WDW? Did someone say WDW?

I am sooooo there! :woohoo: If they have the great deals they have this year next fall, we should consider doing WDW for Halloween! The Halloween party there is wonderful, and the free dining can't be beat! Think we have trouble now deciding where to eat???? :rotfl:

::

We did WDW as the very first Ladies only trip back in '06. It was a lot of fun! I would be up for doing that again!

Sarah

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while after receiving such a warm welcome from the group a few weeks ago. The big events in my life recently: my nieces came for a visit which was consumed with shopping and I got my hair dyed professionally (with the foil and highlights) for the first time in years. It looks a lot better than when my mom does it!

The February plans look great to me. I am so looking forward to this get-together and getting to be friends with all of you. How does the scavenger hunt work?

Sarah -- I got your PMs. I'll be there for lunch on the 19th (August) at 2 pm.

And everyone talking about WDW or DLP -- I'm there.

Ann

Looks like the February trip planning is coming together! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, looks like I'm not going to be able to join you all on the DL next year. We've decided to go to Switzerland. It's been a bit rocky today, as we made the decision based on the information from my work that I would be able to transfer and today I was informed that VP of marketing did not approve my transfer. My bosses boss is going back to bat for me and hopefully all will work out. If it doesn't, well I guess I have to figure out how to find a job in Zurich. DH quit his job last week, so we're pretty much committed to going.

Pixie dust and good wishes appreciated. :wizard: I'm sure it will all work out somehow, just may be a little different than we planned.:headache:

I will still be going to DL for the 1/2 marathon. That trip is paid for and nonrefundable, so there's no saving money (or not enough to make it worthwhile) by not going. I'm hoping to meet up with Cheryl and others for a DIS Diva meet while I'm there! Sunday night is my preference, as the race will be over and I'll be able to have a glass of wine (or two). How late is that Napa Rose lounge open on Sunday? Any other ideas for a possible meet up location?

Oh and Molly/Bumbershoot...I keep thinking of one of your posts (not sure if it was here or on your trip report) where you described your DH's approach to job searching and how he was committed to it like it was his job and kept improving his resume and approach. If I do end up in the job market, I'm going to try to take that kind of attitude. It's so easy to take it all personally. Though in tough job markets, I would rather be an engineer or IT person than a marketing professional!!

Night ladies. Many good wishes to you all. :wizard::wizard:

-Jen

Wow Jen, what an awesome adventure for you and your family!

So I woke up at 2 this morning and couldn't sleep.. i washed all our clothes and repacked them to leave in the morning. Then fell back asleep at 4. :worship: Thank Goodness.

I am nearly through will all the food. I made chicken pot pies..a small roast with vegetables..penne with italian sausage, homemade sauce and mushrooms i reduced in two bottles of red wine and butter. A few side dishes.. the fresh salads and fruits i'll prepare there. I just finished the stuffing and I think I am going to cook the two turkey breasts when i get there. Oh i need to make some desserts. I think cup cakes and brownies. i should make the fake mashed potatoes here..they are made with califlower..really good once baked.

Oohh and i did the italian sausage a different way it is soo good.. i put them in water in a deep skillet and added some fresh sprigs of thyme.. once it reduced down.. i poured in half of a cup of brewed coffee and a little chicken broth then reduced it down again.. the house smelled so wonderful. And the sauce tasted delicious.

I've made meals so that we all sit down together and rest from packing and all the work. Well we will leave early in the morning. I won't be back til monday.

It's nice to take a break.:yay:

I was up from 3:30 to 5:30, but I did not get anything done but getting angry at myself for not sleeping!

Dawn--your food all sounds yummy! Tuesdays aremy dinner delivery days, so I made a bunch of different meals--chicken-veggie stir fry, bbq salmon, meatloaf, chef salad, etc. I made extra meatloaf and roasted red potatoes, so we are having that for dinner tonight.
I'm starting a new job in September, preparing meals for a weight-loss clinic, so I'm thinking I won't be making a lot of meatloaf for them!!

LOL--like someone would turn down Club 33 for Goofy's!

Personally--and I know we voted on this a long time ago--I think we should re-visit the Goofy's thing. I think some of the people who voted for Goofy's (which probably included me) are no longer going (opting for Napa Rose) so maybe we need to re-vote with those who will actually be doing dinner that night? And maybe we should wait until after the Clubb 33 people are chosen so that the people who are going to the "group" meal are the only ones voting? (Did I just cause a problemo?)

And if it was me--I would probably go to Club 33 and not even plan to go to a meal after!

Agreed. I'm thinking we most likely won't go to Goofy's, just because we go to those types of meals when were with the family. I'd much rather go to Clu 33 and/or Napa Rose. Just not on the same day!!!

Katie--it's good to see you here, and I'm sorry to hear you're having a craptastic time right now. I hope things look up for you soon.

Cristabel--you're moving tomorrow, right? Good luck with that, and enjoy yourself!!!

I'm thinking we most likely won't go to Goofy's, just because we go to those types of meals when were with the family.

My sentiments exactly. To me the group dinner was NEVER about Goofy's but rather about being together as a collective. My tastes run much more towards Napa Rose than Goofy's any day. But, with a soon to be 2 year old, Napa Rose isn't someplace that we ever get to go. So, I am really, really looking forward to trying it this year!

Congrats Jen on the big move. How exciting. Sorry you will be missing the trip though.

Cheryl.. okay in 2 years we go to Disneyland, Paris and Jen must meet up with us. And bring wonderful swiss chocolate:goodvibes

Heather... Oh I know that Your Club 33 meal is a Big Highlight of the trip. It builds excitement and adds an allure of something that most people never get to do. Like CheryL said.. Goofys you can go to any time..but Club 33.. that's Really Special!

Don't forget to invite ME!!!
I wanna go to DL Paris, too!:yay:

Seriously, I would go in 2011. Cheryl, we can use our DVC points for a room and Jen will be our free tour guide, so we've cut down on costs already!

Hugs to Katie, sorry you are having problems.
Haven't read back everything, but I am happy to see us working on our intinerary for the trip and that many are putting out opinions and ideas.:thumbsup2

Hi ladies! It's been a super busy day here for me. Anyway, I did read back through the last 5 pages, but honestly, I'm totally lost.

:rotfl2:

Seriously, I saw so much talk about doing Goofy's, not doing Goofy's, doing Club 33 on Saturday, then back to Sunday, and I am just confused.

Personally, I am over Goofy's. I'm not interested anymore and it seems a lot of you feel the same way, so we can just skip that altogether if it makes it easier.

And I see there is still interest in HOB, but do we know who is going to make the reservations?? I know I can't. Not for that many people. I flat out don't have enough on my credit card to front that kind of money. :sad2:

Anyway, I am open to anything. I'm taking a much more laid back approach to the planning this year, so I am going to leave the decisions about that weekend to those planning the Club 33 meal (Heather) and those on the scavenger hunt committee. Just let me know when you've all reached any agreement and I will happily update the front page. ::yes::

Have a great night everyone. TTYL!! :)

I think Sarah offered to put the HOB ressies on her card last week. I remember thinking about what a generous offer that was.

There's really nothing to be confused about on Sat. No decisions have been made other than to make a decision later. :rotfl:

I think we all got caught up with excitment when we chose Goofy's during the poll. It sounds like several people are having second thoughts. I guess that's what happens when we plan things so early. I think it's good though because hopefully we'll end up with a well thought out plan in the end.

I saw that Sarah offered that, but then she said she wasn't 100% sure she was coming on the trip, so I thought just in case she cannot make it, we would need a back up plan. kwim?

LOL OK, I'm glad I didn't miss anything about Saturday. I thought my brain was too fried to make sense of what was decided. Glad to see nothing was. :rotfl2:

Now as for Goofy's, I hope no one thinks I am in any way upset over not everyone going to that. Truth be told, I am relieved that not everyone is going so I can not go. :rolleyes1 It's too far for me, too noisy, and too pricey. I'm probably going to do something simple for dinner that night, maybe a counter service or what not. I can leave it on the schedule for anyone who is still interested, but at this point it doesn't sound like many are and that's totally fine with me.

I like the idea of Club 33/Cafe Orleans being offered on Saturday for a late lunch, and then just Napa Rose or a counter service being offered for dinner.
Then on Sunday we can either do HOB or something else. I'm just going with the flow this time around....... :hippie:

Did you guys see that Wii is coming out with a Toy Story Mania game? This may make me break down and buy a game system!

I already pre-ordered it from Amazon for $10 off! I should have it before the end of September so I'll have to come out and visit and bring our Wii so we can play it!!

Cheryl.. okay in 2 years we go to Disneyland, Paris and Jen must meet up with us. And bring wonderful swiss chocolate:goodvibes

Me too!

I think I remember that too, and if Sarah can't do the whole thing, I can help out! HOB is definitely something I want to do.

Hi ladies! Geesh and I'm so behind on all the pages. I read back, but just like Bethlet, I'm confused.

Hope everyone is well!

Yes, of course it's September. I always mean September when I type August!

Gotcha! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to meet you!

Deal! But what I really want to know is who is going to hold my hand on the flight--I'm a nervous flyer and have never been on an trans-oceanic flight!

I already pre-ordered it from Amazon for $10 off! I should have it before the end of September so I'll have to come out and visit and bring our Wii so we can play it!!

LOL--we won't forget you silly! Ok--there's four interested -- plus Jen (although I assume--maybe wrongly--that she'd be coming with the family) Anyone else?

I can help out with HOB too.

OMG--I was just looking at an ad the other day for some language software called "Rosetta Stone" and I was thinking--I should get it to brush up on my French (I took French in jr. high, high school and college, and lived in the dorms in a hall called "La Maison Francaise" where we were supposed to speak French the whole time in the common areas including the dining room). And then a DL Paris trip comes up! It was meant to be!

Paris, ah bien sur! (like I'm on the maybe list). It's a long ways off, so that's good. I think Jen is going to be there a while.
WDW - if they offer something cool like free dining.... :)
Cheryl, I can't believe you've never flown over the ocean before. The key is to fly Virgin.

Ask me later about Rosetta.
Hi everyone - I'm behind on the pages here...

Gotcha! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to meet you!

Hi Ann, Katie (sorry, I can't believe the universe has thrown more stuff on you), everyone!

Yup, that was me!~ And because I am so generous I will be willing to generously accompany you to club 33....he he he! Lol! Anyway, yes, as long as I go I am fine with doing the HOB on my card....I am working on this tomorrow as I am going to try to get my boss to ok my leave for that time. Then, even if they say no to vacation during the olympics, since I will have already (hopefully) had my leave approved, they would not be able to force me to cancel it...they would just ask me strongly. He He He. Wish me luck tomorrow with my boss!

As for Goofys, I would be happy with something else. I voted for Minnies because I didn't want to have to go all the way over to Goofys for a meal. I would be fine if we did not do this.

Later Gators,
Sarah
