I received Beth's tote and it was full of wonderful goodies! I love and still look at the picture book included. :goodvibes

Cheryl, that was some story. What a trip, and I can't believe how poor the customer service was. I thought one of the benefits of DVC ownership was that homelike feeling and better service. Is there any resolution in sight to the fact that you bought into a resort that doesn't have rooms that fit your needs? I can't believe they built that huge brand new resort, and don't have any rooms that are accessible!!! :sad2:

I already have great plans for my pillowcase! What fun!

Oh Bethy! ;)
Please remove me from Gospel Brunch @ the House of Blues. I just saw the price and I can't justify it!
Please add me to the scavenger hunt list.
Also, I'd like to volunteer to make reservations at Carnation Cafe and Steakhouse 55. Is it 60 days out or did they change it back to 90 days out?

Oh and a quick ? for you girls, can I use my birthday fun card at the Disney store near my school or is only good at the DLR?

Thank you so much Vicki!!

I got it, Beth! Thank you! :thumbsup2 Wow! This is going to be great! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Grease makes me think of sleepovers too. I remember when I was in junior high and I'd spend the night at my neighbors, we'd always watch Grease, but her Mom made us fast forward the part where everyone is making out in the cars at the drive-in. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Beth - please add me to the Meet and Greet and the Scavenger Hunt. Still deciding on the meals though. Thanks!!

Looks good to me. :thumbsup2
Cool. :teeth:

I love those picture books. They are great for a fix when I cannot get there in person.

Will do. And as far as I know, it's 60 days out. So keep in mind that puts us right around Christmas. Or right after technically.

It will be fun!!

Got it.

In case anyone missed this on the front page and is looking for a way to help out on the trip, I do have a list posted of volunteers and the spots that are still open. Keep in mind that our time to make reservations for meals will be around Christmas so if you will be away on vacation or such at that time and unable to call right when the 60 day window opens then it's best not to volunteer. Thanks. :)

Below is the list of contact persons for each event or meal. That person(s) will be in charge of making the plans or reservations. We still have spots open that we need volunteers for, so please let me know if you'd like to volunteer to help out. Thanks!!

Cheryl, what a nightmare you and your mom endured. Wow. Un-bee-lieve-able!:scared1: And the dead battery upon arriving home would have put me over the edge. Really, it would have. At least Doris had a nice birthday, try to remember that. :flower3:

Dawn, my friend, I am so, so sorry you are so ill. I am glad you have proper meds and your DH was there with you. Get better asap! And Courtney, you too little one! And I simply cannot wait to meet your mom and try her homemade marshmellows. I LOVE marshmellows.

I love the slumber party theme, but don't get the pillowcase thing. What do we do with them afterwards? Put a pillow in them? I am so excited for the meet n greet, it will be fabulous fun!:dance3:

Oh, Cheryl. I'm so sorry you had such a crummy time on your WDW trip. I'd definitely be talking to my guide, if I were you.

Ive noticed many of you ladies asking about the meet and greet and going on about the theme of it. There is also some speculation as to what the theme is. Last year we had kept it a secret till the party, and everyone was surprised. This year it seems many want to know ahead of time. No problem with that. And considering the theme it will help that you all know ahead of time to prepare. The meet and greet theme for this year's trip is......

Slumber Party!!!

The plan is for everyone to come dressed in their comfy jammies. Sweats, tshirts, slippers and any other sleeping attire is apporpriate.

The candy buffet will be back.

The exchange at the party will be a pillow case exchange. Very similar to the way we did the tote exchange last year, but with pillow cases instead.

We are looking to have a great meet and greet this year. Lots of fun, and good times like last time. The committee is excited and can't wait to get our plans into action. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

More details will follow as time goes on.

Woo-hoo! Last year I asked my mom if I would make a bad impression if I showed up to the meet and greet, and this year it's mandatory!!! Can't wait!!!!!!

So I'm back from the doctors. And it looks like I have h1n1. Well, my doctor can't do a rapidtest (is that what it's called?) because our county isn't administrating it to any doctor's office. She said they were told to treat everyone who comes in with flu symptoms like they have h1n1. I can't get any medication because it's a virus so I just gotta rest and take a lot of fluids. And I can't go back to work until my fever is gone on it's own for atleast 24 hours. So no work for me tomorrow.

Dawn, I really hope you feel better soon.

Courtney and Dawn--I hope you can both get some good rest and get on the road to recovery. It's no fun being sick!

Hmmmmmm, I sleep in ratty old t-shirts and shorts or boxers myself. With a couple of sloppy old socks, hair a teased up mess, mascara smeared, a cigarette hanging out of one side of my mouth, and a beer bottle in hand ought to complete the look perfectly for the slumber party. It'll be just like being at home. :goodvibes ;)

You're awesome!

Ok--so here's more detail on my trip for those who were interested.

We're calling this trip the "Titanic"--because it was such a shipwreck!

Welcome back Cheryl! If you ask me, it sounds like you need to plan a DoOver trip. And you should ask me, because I'm the Queen:)

Hey ladies!

Tracey, I'm glad you're feeling better. Were your symptoms the same as mine? Did you go to the doctor?

ETA: I called the doctor right now and gave her my symptoms and the medical assistant said "yes, sounds like the flu, we need to see you today." My appointment is at 3:15. I'll update you girls when I get home.

Hi Courtney, I did not go to the doctors until about 5 days in when I thought my face was going to catch on fire, my sinuses were hurting so bad. Nice doctor gave me a prescription for antibiotics but suggested nasal irrigating with salt water. The idea is really bad, but I tell you, the results rock! I never filled that prescription at all.

Well i'm back from the doctor again. we went in at 9:15 and they took me right in, we didn't get out til 2:45. I had two breathing treatments.. an antibiotic shot that starts with r.. and a steriod shot and they took chest x rays.. then gave me 4 prescriptions.. one zpack of antibiotics..a prescription for liquid codeine for the pain.. another for cough syrup and one for a decongestant. Luckily Bob was able to stay with me.
Geesh Dawn! Rest up and get better. Glad your Bob is able to be with you.

Oh Tracey, I just can't stand to read that. :guilty: I was so hoping you would be able to make it. We'll miss your laugh and bright smile. And I'm still keeping my fingers crossed something changes for you!! :wizard:

Thanks Beth! I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself if truth be known. But I am really enjoying reading all the plans and I love the shirts and am for sure going to make myself a black zip up hoody and wear it when you all are at the park in honour of the trip that could have been...boo hoo...
Okay, enough of that:)

Capri and Courtney--
Hope you feel better. :wizard:

And can I be in the Christmas card exchange? I don't think I'll be getting many cards here in Switzerland. I'm going to go ahead and send Cristabel my info. Pretty please....

Later ladies..
Jen

Oh Jen! Of course your in. And I'm with Beth. No need to send one back. Just post an electronic one on Facebook for us:yay::woohoo:

Donna, I don't think the pain you are experiencing is H1N1. For me it started out as overall tiredness (but I did have a really busy Oct!) and then the fever hit suddenly, and then the achiness came and kept me in bed for 4 more days.
But I do hope you get some relief.
Kelly, glad you liked Christmas Carol and got to see it at the IMAX! I want to see that as soon as I have time.

I remember reading this report while you were writing it, very funny! I just knew I had to make the next trip with you ladies.:thumbsup2

Me too!!

And Malibu was mentioned more than 10 times. That also made me KNOW I had to join the next trip. :lmao: I :lovestruc Malibu with anything.

Beth, are we keeping the t-shirt days the same? I heard talk of changing the days. I am leaving Sunday, so won't need a tie dye shirt. Also, now that we are doing the Pirate Princess shirt, is that replacing the old Tink shirt on Monday? I love it and will still find a time to wear it if it is on Monday.

ETA-Maybe it (the pirate princess shirt) can be my pajama top! :)

Oh, and Tracey, I did use the CM software for my signature. I love it so much. It is so easy, and the results are wonderful. I made Jane a little album for the first exchange using it also. I thought it was really cute!

I love the slumber party theme, but don't get the pillowcase thing. What do we do with them afterwards? Put a pillow in them?
I'm not exactly sure. lol Stacie explained it all to me and mentioned that they were more decorative than functional. Maybe use it in a keepsake box, or scrapbooking some how. :confused3 I guess it also depends on what sort of pillowcase you get. Some will probably be more functional than others. kwim?

Perhaps Stacie can comment on this part better as the pillowcase exchange is something she's done before.

Beth, are we keeping the t-shirt days the same? I heard talk of changing the days.
This is how I have them listed now, but it's open for discussion. Whatever works for everyone is fine with me.

SCHEDULE

Thursday (lime green tee)
Put this on the first day since it's a good bright color for spotting other DISers. :3dglasses

Friday (new group tee?)
A few thought that the new group tee would look nice in the PFF picture being taken this day. princess:

Saturday (black pirate tee?)
Pirate tee for the hunt and group pic. pirate:

Sunday (tie dye tee)
No real reason this is on this day, just sort of by default. :hippie:

Monday (red tee?)
This day can either be a red tee or the white Tink tee from last year.
I personally prefer the red tee myself as white is hard for me to keep clean, and not everyone has the old Tink tee, but I'm easy.

Tuesday (blue tee)
Blue tee because it's the final day and we are sad and blue to be leaving!! :sad1: lol

Sorry Beth, I didn't realize you changed it! I had looked at the list earlier, but just now got around to asking. The way you have it now looks good to me, but I can make anything work! :thumbsup2

Oh, and I just noticed on another board that the SRL for TSMM is now gone forever. :(

Happy Tuesday, Divas!! Beth, I will make reservations for Carnation Cafe and Jazz Kitchen :thumbsup2

Stacerita..The opening night party sounds like alot of fun! Thank You all for making it so special for us. I appreciate you all making it so special.

So.. if i'm getting it right and you know me i'm probably off on it..we get to decorate a pillow case to exchange with a friend, do we fill the pillow case with little treats? And then put in another gift bag? Or do we tie up the pillow case and use it as the bag? Is our limit 20 or 25 like the previous exchanges?

Hugs for Courtney and Debra..i hope that you all are comfortable and feeling better. Be kind to you.

Linda, i haven't forgotten, it will just get there a little later.

Theresa...way to step up and help the group, i'm proud of you for helping.

Cheryl, i'm so glad you are back.

Cristabel..thank you for stepping up to help again.

Beth.. i don't know what to think you for but i'm sure you've been busy doing updates on the thread and working on the holiday exchange, so thanks for the work you do on that.

Love and Light sent to all.
