I have to confess that I am a disboards lurker! I come on nearly everyday at lunch time, but have never posted much. That being said, I'm going to attempt to post our dining reviews!

The crew consisted of:
Me: 24 year old disney nut
My sister: 20 year old sun tanning queen
My mom: The best mom and 2 disney girls could ask for!

We went on a girl's only long weekend trip. It was sort of a last trip before I get married this summer. We are DVC members and stayed at the Boardwalk Villas. My beloved Beach Club was full, but the Boardwalk was pretty nice too. Given the choice however, I would chose BCV hands down!

We arrived on Wednesday 3/22 in the early evening. After being dropped off by Tiffany Town Car ( a great service if you don't want to rent a car. It was $95 round trip. They pick you up at the airport and arrive at your hotel on your checkout day to drive you back! www.tiffanytowncars.com).

Anyways, after check in we went to ESPN. Our server was horrible!! I have been to ESPN too many times to count and this was by far the worst service we had ever had. I don't know if it had to do with the fact that a live radio broadcast was being filmed in the restaurant! For dinner I had a cheeseburger, my DS had a chicken caesar salad, and DM had a club wrap. We weren't all too impressed with the food and our server was so bad that the food seemed worse than it was. So, since we were all a little disappointed in our dinner, where do you think we ended up? Of course: BEACHES AND CREAM! My mom and I shared a warm brownie sundae and my sister had the No Way Jose. Her eyes were the size of tennis balls when the sundae was delivered. I think she forgot how big it was but let me tell you, she did pretty well!

Thursday 3/23: We got up and went down to the Boardwalk Bakery. I had a cheese danish, mom had a cinnamon roll, and sister had a bagel. All very good and fresh. For lunch we ate at the Teppanyaki tables in Japan. This place is so fun! We all added a garden salad for $1.00. For our main course I had the chicken and steak (Tonosama), DS had chicken & shrimp (Hatamoto) and DM had chicken (Tori). My DS and I also split and Ichigo which is a blended strawberry and pineapple drink. Very tasty. Our chef was very entertaining and the meal was excellent. For dinner we went to the Marketplace and ate at Earl of Sandwich. I love this place but it was the first time there for my mom and sister. The place was jammed pack but I was lucky enough to grab a booth by the door. I had Le Frenchy, DS had the All American, and DM had Chicken Salad. We also got coleslaw and chips. The food was very good but the dijon dressing on my Le Frenchy was extremely bitter this time. I don't remember it being like that when I ate there last August. I wonder if they make the sauce homemade each day? To top off our gluttonous day, we went to Beaches and Cream carry out and each got a vanilla milkshake/chocolate malt. Yummy!

Friday 3/24: Breakfast was at the Boardwalk. We each got pretty much the same things as before. (You will detect a pattern here! NO healthy breakfasts for us. Each morning was started with a sugar high from the bakery! :rotfl2: ) For lunch we ate at Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom. Man this place was a zoo! I haven't eaten at Cosmic Rays in years even though we go to Disney every year. I was surprised by how it had changed. I don't really like how you have to stand in different lines to get food. My sister isn't a big red meat fan but she didn't feel like standing in line for chicken. So, my mom stood in the burger line while DS and I stalked people for a table! The minute someone would get up, swarms of people would fight for the table. It was too funny! Anyways, we all ended up having cheeseburgers and fries! Very good, classic Disney CS. For dinner we ate at Kona Cafe at the poly. In all the years we have gone to Disney, we had never ate there. Now it is a must do! Absolutely to die for. I had the Char Crusted Medallions of Filet Mignon, DS had a Kona Salad (which she said is the best salad she ever ate) & Pan Asain Pasta with Shrimp, and DM had the Kona Salad and the Beef Teriyaki. Wonderful!

Saturday 3/25: Breakfast at the bakery. Lunch was just my mom and I as my DS braved the wind and cool temperatures to lay by the pool. My mom and I ate CS on the Boardwalk at the little cart across from Seashore Sweets ( I don't remember the name). I had chicken finger basket and my mom had a grilled chicken basket. There was only 1 guy working and he was so frazzled. It took over a half hour to get our food! People were getting so mad, but my mom and I decided just to wait it out and enjoy the great views the boardwalk has to offer! For dinner we ate at Big River Grille on the Boardwalk. The food was just okay. This place was packed and it took over an hour to be seated. We all had the beer cheese soup and it was just okay. It had a weird after taste to it. My mom and I each had a greenhouse salad for our entrees and my DS had a cheeseburger. (She says that Disney is the only place she will eat red meat! :confused3 ) The food was okay. We had been there before so we knew what to expect.

Sunday 3/26: Breakfast at the Bakery. Lunch was at Beaches and Cream before our car came to pick us up. We all had cheeseburgers and fries. My DS and DM love them, but they are just too greasy for my liking.

In summary, we had a great trip. I think we brought the cold weather with us from Michigan because it was warm before we got there and warm immediatley after we left. But hey, 68 degrees beats 20 degrees and snow any day! I was also very surprised by the crowds. We always go in August, when it is scorching hot and very crowded. I expected the last week in March to be fairly quiet but it was packed. Not nearly as crowded as in August but pretty darn close.

Thanks for reading my long reviews. I always think no one would want to read mine. But after thinking how much I love reading other's reviews, I thought there might be a few of you out there who would like to read mine! I didn't realize how fun it is to post! Now that I'm done I wonder if I'm boring everyone by how long this is! LOL Maybe I won't be such a lurker anymore but if I do post I promise it won't be as long!

Thanks!! DisneyAng! :)

I think you did a fine job for your first reviews!! Remember, at one time or other ALL of us had that first review to post. Hope you'll continue to participate!

I think you did a fine job also. Good details.
I will be posting my first Disney trip sometime in June, hopefully with pictures too.
Hope I do as well as you have.. Nancy

Thank you for sharing!! :cheer2: I love to read other peoples dining experiences!! They were great! :)

Very nice reviews! Nobody would have guess it's your first time!

chose Kona's for DH's birthday dinner (he wouldn't want anything too "disney", go figure!) and was glad to see another glowing review!! DD wants the Beef Teriyaki, big time!!

Great reviews. We will be eating at Kona for the first time in June so thanks for the positive review.

Thanks for the reviews...love to hear about others "healthy" eating habits while on vacation!! They make me feel less guilty about my own... :cool1:

Thank you for posting the reviews. Dining reviews are my favorite part of the boards!! :cheer2:

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom to share. I enjoyed reading your report and IMO it wasn't long at all. :thumbsup2

What's with ESPN and bad service? We have been ther a couple times and though the food is pretty good and reasonably priced, the service is horrible.
Everything took forever from being greeted by the serve to getting our bill at the end.

thanks for the reviews.

it seems that ESPN Club is getting a few bad service reviews lately. i love to place, so I really hate to hear that!

Really enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.
