Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Good morning, my friends! I'm going to try to get a bunch of stuff knocked off my list this morning. Next week is going to be packed for me, so I really need to get on the ball. I had an appointment for a cut and color today (first time since June, yikes!), but it got moved to next Wednesday at 4:00. Talk about last minute!

Just a quick "hi". I have been skimming and I think I am pretty up to date. I just spent the last 3 hours re-doing my resume and preparing a cover letter for a job that I really, really, really want so I am trying to make every word just right. I have been thinking about it all week and finally got it e-mailed off tonight.

Strange week for me. Mike had a meeting with his bosses and he was worried about his job; it turned out OK but that was stressful. Bryan needed to make a decision about housing for college next year and it turns out that BOTH of my sons will be going to Eugene and sharing an apartment. I never would have seen that coming a few months ago. They will be 18 and 30 but have become very close. And this job opportunity has been weighing on me because I will be SOOOO disappointed if I don't get it but I am sure there will be a ton of applicants so I need prayers and pixie dust!

Well off to try to get some sleep.

Good Luck with the job, Carol! And what fun for your boys to live together!! Marty's sister lived with us from the time she was 18 until she was 27, and it was really great having her with us. They are 16 years apart, so it really helped them to form a strong relationship.

OMG I've missed SOOOO much :scared1:.

I did see that Deb has a bun in the oven :lovestruc. Congrats and you will be in my prayers that all goes well and it's a little princess princess:.

I still have 11 people who need to pay for the Meet & Greet, but 6 of those have let me know that they will be paying. I'll be sending a PM reminder right now to those I haven't heard from.

Also, I will be depositing all the checks I've received so far tomorrow (Saturday).

Hugs & pixie dust to those who need it  :wizard:.

Hey Katie! Have you made arrangents to stay for the weekend? We are still working on the name tags for the hunt.

Angie~What kind of cool things did you see yesterday at the Olympics?

Beth~I'm going to go check the weather forcast now Again!

Yes, it's making me crazy (or crazier??) too! Packing stinks already, and then when you have no idea what to expect weather-wise...... and keep your suitcase under 50 pounds :faint:

I know!! Those flying have it way worse because you are really limited on weight and space.

I'm not flying but I am traveling with Jane and I don't think she'll appreciate it if I fill her car with two separate suitcases, one with clothing for sunny 75 degree weather, and one with clothing for rainy 55 degree weather.

I know everyone is saying don't worry about it, and I'm NOT worried. If it rains, it rains. If it's hot, it's hot. Whatever. Cannot change the weather so either way we'll deal with it. But honestly, this back and forth nonsense is making it impossible to pack or plan. :confused3 :sad2:

Okay, I'll shut up now. :rolleyes1 Maybe.......... :p

You are all banned from looking at the forcast until next week! :badpc:
But, but, but............what will I complain about then?? :confused3

I HATE being cold and don't really like being hot either but that is why I HAVE to dress in layers to be prepared! :)
Layers make the most sense, but honestly I am too fat already to wear layers. I feel like the big marshmellow man from Ghostbusters when I wear layers. Like I can't breath. Ick.

Beth~I'm going to go check the weather forcast now Again!
Okay good. Because maybe now it will be something totally different. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

But, but, but............what will I complain about then?? :confused3

Cheerleaders?? :cheer2: :confused3 :cheer2:

I'm going to start packing today. I work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

Although Tuesday is DH's birthday, and I would love to find a way to get it off.

I need to finish some SH name tags also. That will be fun though!

So true beth about the layers BUT I have learned long ago that when I go on a trip, esp Disney where I am up at dawn and usually out till WAY late (usually 12 hour days or longer) comfort is the key. I have been known to wear crocs with socks god forbid, and a fanny pack, which by the way is STILL the best because there is NOTHING to carry and it doesn't pull on my shoulder and give me a headache BUT I caved to all the peer pressure and finally bought a messenger bag but to be honest the fanny pack was better but a little too small. I don't carry a LOT but I do carry my checkbook which has my ID and my credit cards and I carry a camera, my glasses, lip balm, band aids and a few other little things, gum etc. Even though I try to limit it to not much it still bulks up and it was too much for my fanny pack so I carry the shoulder bag now but I can tell you after a long day my shoulder DOES start to hurt and it DOES end up giving me a headache sometimes.

I don't like to have to carry anything. No coat, umbrella whatever. And I like to be comfy. I HATE being cold and shivering, which I HAVE done in both DL and WORLD so I always bring a jacket unless it is dead summer but I can tell you even in June at DL I have had to wear my coat in the mornings.

I guess that is what lockers are for eh? ;)

I feel like I only have 4 more days. It is already noon today...so almost over? And I fly out on Wednesday...have to be at the airport around noonish. So, I guess if you go noon today to noon Wednesday it is 5 more days to the minute for me!!!! I have a packing list, but have yet to pack anything. Kids have not been in school for about 2 weeks. Meghan had 2 late starts and actually went today!!! Donovan is only Monday thru Thursday mornings. So with the late starts he does not go to school. We are supposed to get more snow over the weekend! It had better not mess up my flights!!!

Oh, I guess that I will have to think about what to carry in the parks with me. That might be another shopping trip! Chris usually wears a backpack and we have the double stroller to shove things under and in!

You mean: Ready? OK! :cheer2::cheer2: (inside cheerleader joke, there).

Happy Friday ladies! Just sitting here enjoying the sweet sounds of my children torturing each other instead of doing their math. :headache:

I agree with Carol. Step AWAY from the weather forecast, Ladies! I think we'll all be packing on Wednesday night! Personally, I wouldn't mind a forecast of rain and then just have a few sprinkles to keep the locals away.

Oh, I don't have candy bought yet. What is still needed? I have a few ideas, but need to know if chocolate is needed or other kind of stuff???

Morning Ladies.

I am going to let all you women in on a little secret. For all of you worrying about what to pack. Trying to pack for every possible nuance of possiblity.

Guess what...they have STORES in Anaheim!!! For reals!! I promise. Even the exotic, like TARGET!!!!!!!!!

I used to get all worried about making sure I had every possible thing I might need on a trip until my Dh pointed out that if I got cold, I could always get a souvenir sweatshirt. Uh duh...yes, I could!!!

Now, maybe not rainboots...but in an emergency, we can all make a target run.

Okay, sermon over.

So, I set my smoke alarm off making my door sign yesterday. Somehow I don't think that that is a good sign. I actually knew that I should only put our usernames on it (thanks for chiming in Donna...since when are you in my room? tee hee)...I think I just wanted a chance to put OKRA on the sign.

I am meeting Chris, Califgirl at the Carlsbad Outlet Mall with a carload of girlscout cookies today for a wee bit of shopping. We are thinking we need to buy some power undies for our trip. How fun is that. I am thinking I need some blaze orange granny panties. No need to be subtle, right?

Okay...gotta go!!! Can't wait until the meet.

AmySue oh, and Okra too.

I know. Having a stroller makes a difference. Without one, you have to actually carry everything. LOL
Hope your flight leaves okay on Wed!

LOL I was going to put the "Ready? Okay!" post and changed my mind because I wasn't sure anyone would get it. :thumbsup2

I think I'll be packing Wednesday night right along with you. I kind of wanted SOME rain. A drizzle or two. Nothing major. But this back and forth is making me nuts. Oh well.

Oh, I don't have candy bought yet. What is still needed? I have a few ideas, but need to know if chocolate is needed or other kind of stuff???
PM Cristabel/disney-inspired and see what she says.

AmySue oh, and Okra too.

No souvenir sweatshirts for me. Some of us are poor remember?? :rolleyes1

Setting off the smoke alarm while making your door sign is a sure sign it's going to be awesome!! :thumbsup2 And maybe it can say grumpyokravet? Then people will wonder what it means to grump - yo - kravet...... It can be street slang. Like "Hey man, I'm gonna grump yo kravet if you don't back off!"
Okay, apparently I need more sleep...........

Have fun with Chris!! I'm jealous. I want orange granny panties too. :smokin:

Hi girls--just a quick check-in:

Personally, I think a "Swing By The Margarita Stand" should be written in the schedule, so no one forgets this important detail.....emphasis on the IMPORTANT.
Yes, this is most importante and we need to get it on the schedule PRONTO.

Oh and think PINK

Just sent you a text, but I just have to say again.....CONGRATS!

I am soooooooooooooooooo excited for you!!!! Whoooo HOOOOOO! :woohoo::yay::banana:

Thinking pink.....thinking pink.....thinking pink.....thinking pink....

But most importantly, praying for a healthy mommy and baby! :cutie:

I got it right away too--damn Capri for beating me to the punch but I was taking care of my temporary roomie last night and didn't get on-line. CONGRATS! and I know Dawnie is looking out for you.

What?!!! You've never been on the Monster's Inc ride? How is that possible?

I've only ever seen Captain EO once, and that was when I was 17 years old and a complete space cadet. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. :thumbsup2

You're so lucky Aunt Flo came for a visit. I'm really hoping she visits me before the trip, but it's going to be close.
Aunt Flo is visiting me now. But unlike last month's LOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG visit she seems to be doing a drive-by.

Real names or screen names on the door sign?

STRIPPER names!!!!

Great! You might be sharing a bed, but what about the other roomies...Cristabel get Lysol :rotfl2:

Thanks
Hmmmm. Maybe Stacerita should dutch oven AmyOkraSue

Oh, and wish me luck 'cause I am doing a presentation at 4 pm tomorrow that I literally haven't even begun to put together yet. I have a meeting at 8 am tomorrow where I will be planning the session with my co-presenter. We have just been so busy with all the other details of planning our leadership conference (that we have 400+ students registered for!) that this has been our last priority. Luckily it's for freshmen who are brand new members of fraternities and sororities, so I feel like it doesn't have to be perfect, but I am hoping that it won't completely suck :thumbsup2

Night all!
Freshman greeks have NO clue so you'll be fine!

You got it! :wizard:

I don't like to carry things either.
I thought about the lockers, but aren't they like 10 bucks now?

Not if you share with others!!

And I got all different colors undies, only 1 white, in my 12 pairs! Love it!! DH and DD didn't want to hear about them last night, said it was TMI!!

Okay, completely OT: DVC ladies, what's the best place (online) to look for someone willing to transfer 2 points to me? I've posted in the Dis DVC board and Mouse-owners (gets starred out when I type it out), and had a couple of maybe's, but nothing yet. We're going in July and I have 7 nights booked, Saturday-Saturday, I wanted to add the starting Friday but I'm 2 points short. I know I have time but wondered if any of you had done that before.

Hey Katie! Have you made arrangents to stay for the weekend? We are still working on the name tags for the hunt.

I'm sorry, I thought I sent you a message on FB, but I guess it slipped my mind :upsidedow. Yes, I'll be there until Saturday night. My sister is going to take me & pick me up since I couldn't find a good price on a rental car.

I can transfer you 2 points to you, but I don't know if I have to wait until March?? I already transfered points to a member in 2009 & you can only do it once a year. My Use Year is March so that's when I can do it again. Maybe I can do it now since you will be using them in 2010??

I can't remember, do any of you do pin trading? I just bought a mystery lot on eBay and am hoping it gets here in time. It's someone I have bought pins from before and I'm pretty sure they ship very fast. I have some traders at home but figure I needed a few more. :rotfl:

I do some pin trading but don't know if I have any traders right now. DH loves stitch so I always try to buy or trade for stitch pins.

I found this amazing photo on Facebook titled A Foggy Morning on the Rivers of America. It was posted on February 18th, 2010 by Paul Hiffmeyer, Chief Photographer for Public Relations, Disneyland Resort.
I know not all of you are on FB, so I thought I'd post it here.

I just love this shot. How awesome would it be to be there in the stillness of the early morning with the fog rolling in. Creepy and way cool. IMO at least.

fra120900LARGE.jpg

That's so cool...I am bummed ROA will be closed during the trip...I love fantasmic!

I am hoping to bring some traders.

Three cupcakes--need one for Brandy!!!

That is way cool! I am sad that ROA is going to be closed next week.

I'm with you.

Also is there ANYTHING else that needs to be added to the schedule???

I know soon Steph is going to be making up the cards with this printed on them so I want to make sure it is complete and accurate. Thanks.

OH, I forgot to tell you all that we got ALTCS! (Arizona long term care) It's the eval we had the other day that we didn't get in August. (I was so upset then, that I cried on my birthday in the GCH and Napa Rose lounge with poor Donna left to deal with me. (Thanks D for being there!) Anyway, now we can have therapies in our home again, and I can finally get ABA (behavioral therapy)! I'm so happy that I'll have more help for Nathan. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers everyone! :goodvibes

Yeah Nathan!

Screen names.:thumbsup2

Im doing alright. Thanks for asking. Been on meds to keep it regulated, but it seems to be really low. So although its a bad idea, i skip them alot. But with taking my pressure everyday, I haven't noticed a difference if I take them or not. I plan to get my doc to get me off of them soon. Ive dropped almost 20 pounds since being on WW, so that should have helped. We will see what he says though. But im doing good.

Congrats on the loss!

Chocolate...there is always need for more chocolate!

I just got off the phone with my mom...she took my daughter in to the doctor today...we thought she might have an ear infection (she doesn't!) and she has a really bad rash which turns out to be excema. I am so bummed for her. It's hard enough being a kid and growing up let alone if you have a rash to deal with. I guess the doctor gave my mom lots of good tips to help and prescribed a cream for the worst areas. I am just so sad for her. :sad1:

:confused3 I am usually pretty craft friendly, but I am having a blonde moment right now.. I am prepping to iron on the transfer for our shirts and the instructions say to use greaseproof paper. :confused3Is Greaseproof paper the same as waxed paper??

If everything goes as planned, I will have a few extra transfers if anyone needs them..
