Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Last year we ate first, didn't we? We did the get to know you game, ate, did the exchange and then did the candy buffet? Is it going to be the same order of events this year?

I remember doing the candy buffet while we ate. I waited until after I ate to go up, and all the chocolate was gone! I think that's why Cristabel got mostly chocolate orders this time! :)

I'm sure it will be a fun night, I will be there on time for the ice breaker this time! I want to hear what everyone's deep dark secrets are.

Yes, please do! We need a count so we can see how many bags to bring because those participating in the exchange will be using their pillowcases.

I did not know that and I can't change it now :guilty:
OKay, I'll update it now.
I hate how they make it so you cannot edit the poll options once it's set up. Oh well, no big deal and now you know for another time. :)

I really wish I knew what the weather is going to be like on our trip. I cannot even begin to think about planning or packing until I do. :confused3
I have some lime green and red shirts to wear, but they are a bit warm. That's fine if it's in the 50's. Not fine if it's in the 70's.
)

This is the problem with our weather. And it's really an usual winter with all this rain. No way to be certain until we are at least 10 days out.

Best bet is to layer. I like 3/4 sleeves or long ones that can be pushed up and or brought down.

OK, so are we doing the exchange before we eat? I'm just trying to plan. Last year, the tote exchange took a while. I might need provisions to get me through the watching of the pillowcase one! :lmao:

Now I'm hungry....

Heather, you're mostly right. We did the bingo get to know you game, then ate and had the candy buffet. Then we did the tote exchange for the rest of the night, it was the last thing we did. The order is good.

I will be like Heather - want to eat once the pizza is there (not preggie, but the blood sugar thwang, ya know?). It's going to be so great to see everyone! I love the idea of this ice-breaker.

Why don't we just get enough of those clear goodie bags for everyone, that way no one has to stick candy in their pillowcase and get chocolate or sugary bits all over it?? They are dirt cheap at the dollar store - $1 for a dozen or so of them.

Capri - yes, I think she means bags for the candy. Last year there were those lime green bags that everyone used.

Hmmmmm, I really don't think I want to put candy in my pillowcase. That could be kinda messy......and some of the pillowcases may not be washable depending on what is used to decorate them.

If need be, I'll just bring my own goody bag. I could even bring the lime green bag from last year.

Don't worry about bringing your own goody bag, we've got you covered. I didn't even think of the candy that won't be individually wrapped. Duh! I'm a dork.

That's what I said on the other thread. I'll just bring my bag from last year, and they could always just pass out plastic shopping bags! I say we just make the party BYOB (bring your own bag!).

You're not a dork! You're our amazing meet n greet poll maker! I think it will all work out. :goodvibes

If anyone is looking for cheap luggage, Macy's has some on sale that was originally $160 for $29.99, Tag Parkview 4-piece Luggage Set. I bought a black and a raspberry set. Seems like our luggage gets trashed so easily.

Just wanted to add that I am getting really excited, too!

No candy in my pillowcase. Cristabel, will you provide a plastic baggie? If not, I'll bring one.

I really hope we are all rained out by the end of the month. I can handle cold, but rain would just bum me out. If it does rain I envision a lot of us huddling together somewhere drinking hot beverages and just chit chatting.:flower3:

I'd be fine with BYOB. :) I already said on the poll thread that I'll probably bring my own Ziploc bag anyway to make it easier when packing. That way I know it's sealed tight and won't spill or melt over any clothing.

I hope it's COLD. Really cold. And drizzling. Not actually raining but just sort of misting. There I said it. Y'all can throw things at me now........ :rolleyes1 :duck:

When we lived in Burbank and had our APs, we'd check the weather forecast and if it called for rain, we'd plan to go those days. It was just so nice to have the park empty. :goodvibes

Of course I've also been in DL when it was coming down in buckets and that was no fun. We do not want that. But something in between would be nice.

The year of the first ladies trip, it was SO hot and so crowded. It was really a bit much to handle. For me anyway.

After just finishing Mouse Adventure-Raingear Games, I do not want it to pour rain! Cheryl and Stacie can account for how wet everything and I do mean everything was!

How about if they call for rain, no one shows up and it ends up being a beautiful day. That sounds great to me!

Get ready to duck, then!:cold: I don't want to be too cold.

You are right about the first year. By Sunday afternoon, I WAS DONE! I remember Bree & I sat in the lobby of the DL Hotel with an iced tea for "just a few minutes". I never could go back into that heat. It was A/C all the way for me baby until I got home! And a bunch of you had ressies at CC (outside!) and I was supposed to secure a table and I just couldn't do it. But everyone forgave me.

Yeah, that was bad for y'all. I don't want that. A bit of a chill in the air, and a nice mist would be perfect. Just enough to mess with everyone's hair. :rotfl:

Actually now that I've said that, it will most likely be 89 degrees and jam packed. :sad2:

I was only there for that one day and it was pretty bad. That was on Saturday. They were calling for Sunday to be even hotter so I'm a bit glad I was able to go and meet a couple of the ladies without being out in the heat day after day. It's so draining. And the crowds were bad too. It was just very weird.

Do they actually measure carry-on bags? :confused3

I'm asking because on Alaska it says you are allowed one carry-on bag which can measure up to 10"H X 17"W X 24"L.....but the large carry-on bag in the set from Macy's is 25"L.

Do they often measure the length of the carry-ons? I have never experienced any of my carry-ons being measured, but perhaps some of you have. My experience has been that if it fits through the square plastic frame before going through the x-ray machine and then it also fits in the overhead compartment, then it's fine.
