Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Oh wow, I miss a day and you guys have been chatting up a storm! It's good!

Melody, I am so sorry to hear about Daisy. When we lost our dog it was like losing a child. 11 years! My heart goes out to you.

Good morning ladies.

Well I caught whatever Laila had & I've been sick for a couple days. I'm just starting to feel human again. This is the first time I've vomited since High School. I NEVER have tummy troubles. I guess I was due to get sick.

No fun, Katie.
I've heard from a lot of people that they never get sick but did this year. Think of it this way, it's good to get it over with BEFORE the girl's trip!

I am very lucky that I have a mom who always wants to help me with my job. When I was running the daycare, she worked almost full time to cover for me when I decided to go back to school. And now she is the best sous chef I could every ask for in my catering business. She's the best!.

You are sooo lucky! Can I borrow her?
I love that CC soup.

And yes Beth, we do have the Red Box here. There is one at the SuperWalMart by my house and everytime I go there is a line for the Red Box. With the convenience of Pay-per-view, Net Flex and $1 for Red Box, I don't know how Blockbusters stay in business.

Glad you are feeling better Stacerita.:)

Yea for getting sick over with before the trip, Stacerita! ;)

Linda, I guess I'm the idiot keeping Blockbusters in business. Well, not really, but I hadn't rented anything in at least a year and I went there recently to rent something. No wonder the store was empty and all the movies were available! Thank you for turning me onto this Red Box now!

Marty just sent me a text from Sonora, so I now know that he survived his igloo camping expidetion. I still can't believe he did that. Midlife crisis, methinks.
!

That is just the funniest thing.

It's a busy weekend here seeing different friends Fri, Sat and tonight, which is rare for us. All fun.

Sarah, I can't wait to see you - look at that banner! And Tina - I missed seeing your banner appear - congratulations! Kertigger, I'm glad you asked about the guide - thanks Beth for the link. Stacielee, glad you are having so much fun there at DL!

I have been completely uninspired during my pillow case search. I can't find anything already done that I like, and I have had no moment where I get it. So far I have nothing for it. UGH! I hate that. I need some inspiration to hit me.

Uh, wasn't this your idea?
:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Daisy, how is your toe?

Thanks for the congrats. It was kinda of hard to say "no" to a family membership fee of $37 per month. We can work out, or take the boys swimming, or play basketball, or do a class, and all sorts of things. They have 2 pools and a lazy river, so there's plenty of choices for swimming. They even have a game room, with ping pong, video games, air hockey, pool, etc. I'm excited to get started! :cool1:

Here's a link to the floor plan:

Did Marty hit his head recently? :confused3

Wow, Capri, that place looks fun! I see you spending a lot of time there during the Summer with your boys!

And Marty? He's crazy! I just talked to him on his way home, and he said it was pretty cold in there.

Thanks Donna. I just posted it, and I'm working on getting the one for 15 pounds up by Friday.

Uh, wasn't this your idea?
:rotfl2:

I know, right? I've got absolutely no inspiration for it. Yet.

No fair...obviously you are all out having a great sunday and here I am with no one to talk with...:sad1:

I've been home for the past three hours watching tv and then doing homework, YAY me!

We will be leaving for my aunt's house as soon as my mom and Diana arrive from the store. It's my cousin's 20th birthday.

Well, I am almost done here and then it will be off to the kids' swimming lessons and then on to a family birthday party.

Have a good one all!

For those that were asking, my toe is still hurting and black and blue up into my foot. It is feeling better and I think that I should be fine to walk normally for the trip.

We did a lot of organizing this morning and then did some errands and grocery shopping. We are really trying to get the house cleaned out of stuff that we don't need.

We just finished up with dinner and it was so good. I made a Rachael Ray recipe and it was really good.

Well, gotta go get the kids a bath and get ready for school next week for both of them. Oh!! and I get to make cupcakes tonight for Meghan's class. They are celebrating their one hundred days at school tomorrow. I am cutting down twizzlers for the one and then putting two gummi lifesavers for the zeros.

I will for sure be checking in some later. I try to keep up with things on here, I am just not always posting stuff.

Mel, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. How sad :( Hugs
Sarah, I was going to offer to do the tickets, but see Cristabel has jumped in already. YAY! That is so lame about the ticket surcharges.

Hope everybody is having a good weekend. Tomorrow we turn the calender and HELLO February!!! Can you believe it? Lazy day around here. Watched the Winter Xgames, did laundry and stuff. Yesterday was crazy...helped at a garage sale fundraiser for my Epilepsy support group, Kallie had Cheer, Parker had his first basketball game and then we headed to Beau's 1st drumline competition, which was amazing. I'm on day 4 of Jillian's 30 day shred DVD and I am SOOOOOO sore. Its a good sore...kinda...unless I've sat for too long, then my thighs scream at me for moving..lol It sure shows me the Wii type workouts are definitely more "fun" then a real workout. Don't get me wrong..they still get you moving, but nothing like this one.
I've been dreaming of a Malibu mocha frappe from Burrbank ice cream at DCA... I love them!!

I'm just here at my cousin's house playing on mario party with my little cousin cindy.

I know I'm behind (and I don't remember how many pages back either).

Mel - I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.

Katie, Amy Sue, Stacie (Stacerita) - Hope you all are feeling better

Sarah - I was on Weight Watchers during our first trip and on my weigh in day the following week I lost 10 pounds. I think it was a huge shock to my system (I didn't follow the points for the days I was in the park). I did try to make some healthy choices but overall I ate what I wanted.

So much more I wanted to comment on but can't remember it right off the top of my head. It's been a busy weekend. Yesterday was errand, shopping, and movie day (we saw The Tooth Fairy). The movie was cute (typical Disney type movie). Today was household stuff, I ended up doing 12 loads of laundry, swept tile, mopped tile, helped Selena with her science project on Saturn, cooked all 3 meals, 2 dishwashers full of dishes and now I'm exhausted.

I test for promotion on Tuesday morning (I'm not very confident on it this year, but I am hopeful). Of course (like last year) I won't find out if I make it or not until May. Wish me luck.

I hope you all had a great weekend and that you all have a great week.

Good luck, Steph!! :goodvibes

Mel, I'm so sorry about your dog.

Thank you everyone for the feel better with your braces wishes. They still hurt, but not as bad as they did the other day.

I'm just finishing up my laundry and watching Platinum Weddings. What's everyone else up to?

Just a quick check in to remind people that if you haven't already sent me your 3 fun facts please do so in the next 24 hours. I will be publishing the "public humiliation" list of those who haven't gotten their homework turned in yet tomorrow night :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

In other news, I can't believe the weekend is almost over already and I have gotten very little checked off my to do list. I leave for a student diversity retreat on Thursday morning and won't be back until this time next Sunday, so I have got to get organized, do laundry, pack, etc. Thank god I have a husband who is able to fend for himself and so I don't have to worry about things like meals and getting him ready to care for Ty. But, I also know that I will be coming home to a disaster zone as basic cleaning is a skill that seems to allude both of my boys.

I hope it isn't going to be doing this at the end of this month. This is the 2nd time in a month that we have had over a foot of snow.

Shirley, those pictures bring back LOTS of memories! I grew up in Michigan so definitely had more than my share of snow... and snow days!! Those were the best!!

Good luck, Steph!! :goodvibes

Same from me:

Good luck, Steph!
Mel, so sorry to hear about your dog :(
Courtney, I remember when I had braces, there were days I couldn't go to school because my mouth hurt so bad after having them tightened! Good excuse!!
Glad to hear people are feeling better, and better being sick/injured now than on the trip!
Sarah, I guess I didn't keep up with the thread good enough, I was out there and could have easily gotten our HOB tickets. Hopefully Cristabel doesn't have any problems.
Cheryl was the best hostess over the weekend, and Bella is still so cute, and bigger than the last time we saw her. Rajah even came out to visit, probably because I'm allergic and cats always seem to want to sit by me and I can't pet them! They just know!!

Hope everyone starts off with a great Monday! I get to make a grocery list and figure out some meals for this month. And my FIL comes this Wednesday, for pretty much the entire month of February. At least he's no trouble, unlike other family members... :rolleyes1

Just got done with dinner & dessert. Some days I really love baking. :) We had turkey lettuce wraps & lemon bars.

I am not looking forward to this week. Lots of work (drama) happening. I just gotta keep telling myself it will be over in 5 days.

Ugh.

My kid and I were quite successful shillig the neighborhood out of their monies for Girl Scout cookies today. Claire was so excited...I kept hoping her enthusiasm would wane. But...she did sell every single box her pack mule mom was carrying....so it went well.

I hope all have a good week.

I just need to get to my ironing tonight and I will be all caught up on household stuff.

Living on the edge as always,

AMySue
