Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Good Morning and TGIF!!

Seems like you guys had a fun convo last night about all the booze you are going to drink! ;) I'll stick to my diet coke and water thanks! :)

Hey Beth if you want to NOT be tempted to eat a candy bar why don't you try that baby shower game with the chocolate bars melted in a diaper. I watched that TLC show about the duggars and they were playing that and I about hurled. I think that would turn you off on EVER eating another candy bar again. EWWWW! There is something about seeing melted chocolate, esp with lumpy stuff in it, in a diaper that is just well GROSS! Looks WAY too much like the real thing LOL!

And for all of you that have your aunt accompanying you on the trip I feel for you! It seemed like before I went on meds to prevent her from visiting EVERY flippin trip I went on she came along for the ride. And it was a DOUBLE whammy cuz when she visits I get terrible migraines. That is why I block her to begin with. I still have to have a visit from her a few times a year but now I time it when there is NOTHING going on since I KNOW I am going to be down for the count with a massive headache etc. I never thought I would actually look FORWARD to menopause just to be rid of her!

Oh and I thought I read somehwere that they put out the monkey bride to replace the "other" bride and she goes back "away" after the holidays but I could be wrong.

Anywho mom and I spent a few hours at the phone store but she got her stuff all straightened out and Lynn's phone is officially off our contract thank goodness so that is one less thing I have to deal with thank goodness although the BAD news is not only are we getting WAY less on our tax return than I hoped but Shane lost the side job he had bid. We were REALLY counting on that for him to pay off his cc. The people decided to do lino instead. :( Oh well easy come easy go.

Anyway I am off to work today and back to doing Quickbooks all day and then tonight we just have a date with the tv. Nothing going on for us. It is supposed to rain AGAIN today and I think part of tomorrow. Shelby has another b-ball game tomorrow and we may try to rent a few movies. Haven't done that in a bit and there is a bunch of stuff I want to see. Then we are really going to try and go to church on Sunday. The girls really want to go and it is has been months since we have gone.

Next weekend is Superbowl and I am really hoping mom can come home for it. She usually does but then she promised she would come home the FOLLOWING weekend so she could watch the girls for us so we could go out on our anniversary and she usually can't miss 2 weekends in a row and then of course she is going to miss the last weekend of the month cuz of the trip. So I hope it all works out. We usually have a superbowl party with a few friends and that is the ONE game I don't mind watching. I like the commercials :) Plus we usually have a fun little pool between us to see who is going to win.

I hope everyone has a GREAT Friday and that you have some fun plans for the weekend!

I hope those that are sick start feeling better and I KNOW that Stacielee is going to have fun and Becci and Callie are off having a blast!! :)

Take care all and ttyl!

Oh, you have NO idea!!!
Hey now!

:p

Have fun this weekend!!

I just wanted to congratulate Sarah on her newly increased weight loss of 75 pounds. You are so awesome Sarah!
She IS awesome!! And I'm so jealous!!!! :rotfl: But happy for her too. Hopefully she doesn't mind being seen with me in Disney. :rolleyes1

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!!!

Are you awake now? :teeth:

It's Friday, yay!!!!

Good morning girls!!! Happy FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

So yesterday I had an orthodontist appointment and they were scheduling me to come in 4 weeks. And the girl was like, "how is February 25th?" SORRY LADY, I'm going to be at DISNEYLAND with a bunch of HOTT ladies. :woohoo:

Okay, I didn't tell her that. But that's what I was thinking. :confused3

I don't expect a visit from my Aunt during our trip in case anyone wondered. :thumbsup2  (at least that's one thing my roommates don't have to worry about...)

Have a great time Stacie, and safe travels. I'm glad Allyson decided to join you. I was sad for you when you said you might not even go to the parks. Have a treat for me! :thumbsup2 Don't worry about missing me today, I haven't been on much at all. I'm glad the hockey game was good this time!

I want to see a pic of Cheryl's new do!

Aunt Flo won't be visiting me either. She is no longer welcomed. All of her belongings were removed from me in August.........

I'm awake, and good morning to you Beth. Same to you Kelly and Courtney! And edited to add Patty!

Well if the weather holds out, and the sun comes out, I'm going to work in the garden. I have 2 flats of flowers, some shrubs to plant, and I need to prune the roses. :sad2: And that is just a start. I should have had it all done this fall. I got so far behind, and then the weather turned crummy. What can I say? :guilty:

Yesterday, I went into my DD's Becky's classroom of 3rd graders to help. They are learning about the pioneers and the Oregon and California trails. So we get to the part about the pioneers having to burn buffalo chips to cook on. They were mortified! :rotfl: This is one of their favorite subjects to work on. (Well not the chips.) They get to build cabins or soddys, make homemade butter and Ma's Pancakes from scratch, and dress up as pioneers. For some of the children, it will be the first time they get to crack an egg. Then they give demos on square dancing for the school and parents. So fun!

Good morning to everyone else, and have a great day!:goodvibes

Oh, and Cheryl, you must not have very much gray yet. If I waited as long as you to redo my hair, it would be a very ugly site. I now have to do mine every 4-5 weeks. Sad!:sad2:

Mel, my mother teaches 3rd grade also, and does a very similar thing with her children. The kids do love it! My mother has a community mystery reader come in once a month...you know, the mayor, the policeman, the bank president, etc. Everytime I am in town, I get to be the mystery reader. It's fun, and the kids always seem so amazed that she has such an OLD DD! I love visiting the classroom though. :goodvibes

Today is my Nathan's 3rd birthday. We had brownies for breakfast! :thumbsup2

Gotta love nanas, bless them ;)

Cheryl - I picked up the book you recommended - Marked (House of Night). I actually got a great deal on the set of four from Amazon for only $25 - woo hoo! That's reading material for Disneyland and Vegas - sweet!

You find time to read at Disneyland and in Vegas???

Nice try. However you are forgetting I'm the one who made the kitty litter cake and had no problem with how real it looked. :rotfl:

Kitty litter cake? Pictures please, I gotta see this.

Carol, I'm kind of glad there will be no music so we all can chit chat and visit. I love the music, don't get me wrong, but I love the visiting during our Diva meals.
After thinking about it I realized that too. It was just disappointing at first. It will be interesting to see how they seat our large group in the outer seating area since the music room will be closed off.

As for Aunt Flo, that party pooper wench is scheduled to put a damper on my trip too, but just the last few days. Oye. When will the madness end? I'm almost 50 for crying out loud!
She stopped visiting me almost a year ago. I was really enjoying her absence when Cousin Flash started dropping by several times a day. :furious: I wish the extended family would just leave me alone!

You don't like hockey talk? What kind of Canadian are you?
That's what I was thinking!

I will be going to my first hockey game next Friday - it's a work thing so will be going with the rest of the management team.

I just read that the 'Christmas' discount offered for AP has been extended! This might be old news, but it excited me. Now, I can still enjoy the 10% discount on merchandise with my deluxe that I enjoyed in Dec! :cool1: I love saving money!
Awesome!

I have a sis in law who insists on playing that melted candy in the diaper game at every baby shower. So gross!

Mel--Your daughter must be a great teacher! So many fun projects!!!

Happy Birthday to Nathan!

That does sound fun!! It sounds like your DD takes after you. Fun, active, involved and creative. You are the kind of parent I only wish I could be. :worship: I mean it.

How neat!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATHAN!!!

party::bday:party:

I want brownies for breakfast too!

You don't like hockey talk? What kind of Canadian are you?

I have hockey talk 24-7 in my house, on the TV all the time...... I live with boys, it's how we do :rolleyes1 It's nice to have a hockey-free zone, KWIM?? ;)

..... and I'm an awesome Canadian, thank you very much!

I just wanted to congratulate Sarah on her newly increased weight loss of 75 pounds. You are so awesome Sarah!

:

Thanks Linda! I really appreciate that! Hopefully you will be able to see a difference from when you saw me in September! I am down 31 since then and hope to drop another 9 before the trip...don't know if I'll be able to do it but I am going to try!

She IS awesome!! And I'm so jealous!!!! :rotfl: But happy for her too. Hopefully she doesn't mind being seen with me in Disney. :rolleyes1

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!!!

Are you awake now? :teeth:

It's Friday, yay!!!!

Oh Beth! You're one of my very favorite peeps! As for being awake...I didn't get to bed until 1 am because I was out dancing at an "alternative lifestyle" bar for 80's night! What a hoot! 2 hours of dancing was my workout for the day!

Mel, my mother teaches 3rd grade also, and does a very similar thing with her children. The kids do love it! My mother has a community mystery reader come in once a month...you know, the mayor, the policeman, the bank president, etc. Everytime I am in town, I get to be the mystery reader. What a great mom you are! My son would love it if I would give him brownies for breakfast...but he is also thrilled with yogurt or oatmeal so we usually stick to that!

Hope everyone is having a great day! I can't believe the trip is less than 4 weeks away! Woo Hoo!

Heather, what a cool idea to have mystery readers. I will suggest that to Becky!

Happy Birthday to Nathan! :cake: :bday: :dance3::yay::cool1::banana:party::jumping1:

Gotta love nanas, bless them ;)

I wish I had a Nana. One of my grandmothers died before I was born, the other who was much more a Grandma than a Nana died nearly 20 years ago. I think of her often. The other day I was counting out pennies at the grocery store to make exact change, much to the annoyance of the employee and as I rooted about in my "pocketbook", I realized I was channeling my inner Grandma. She always did that amongst a flurry of kleenex and lipstick, she would triumphantly extract the last penny needed!! I miss her.

Okay, I have never seen the Monkey Bride, so someone who knows where she is.....PLEASE ride HM with me and point her out so I can see her once and for all. :worship:

I haven't seen her either. I am sure someone will take us and initiate us into the club. Is there a secret handshake?

I didn't know that either. Thanks for the info.

Capri, don't fret! She's always there! :thumbsup2

Whew!!!
Had my hair done tonight for the first time in 3 months! I was long overdue! It looks FABULOUS if I do say so myself.

Ok--other than that have to go do some things around the house and then hit the hay.

I want to see your hair!!! Mine is well overdue. I am supposed to go every 8-12 weeks, and I last went in late September. Oops. I find I am sporting a pony tail all the time again. Oh, have fun tonight.

Uh oh, where did the rest of my quotes go?

I am still feeling super lousy. I hate this. I work tomorrow....plan to be better then!!

See you all soon. Oh, and anyone looking for something in the mail from me...in the mail box today!!!

We only watch hockey if we're at my parents house or if Brad gets free tickets from work. But when everyone at work talks about the Canucks I nod like I know what they're talking about.:) And you are an awesome Canadian!

I've never had this before, but it sure looks good. I think I just may order that this year.

Sarah - Congrats! :woohoo:

Heather - Happy birthday to Nathan!!!! :bday:

Melody - You are such a great mom! My mom would never do that (help out in the classroom)....and frankly, with her type of personality (think Aurora from "Terms of Endearment"), I wouldn't want her to.:scared1:

I love my mom to death! She's a GREAT woman and mom in her own way, but she's definitely......not sweet like you. :cutie:

Cheryl - Yay for the new fabulous doo! :cheer2:

Cristabel - The Monkey Bride is always there?!!! I WANNA SEE HER! :hyper:

Hey, since we're taking about covering our greys, I'll be coloring my hair again soon. I already bought it but I'm going to wait to color until just a few days before the trip. Maybe Callie won't recognize me again - LOL!

I'm actually kind of glad that there isn't going to be any live music at the Jazz Kitchen when we're there. Sometimes the loudness of it can get a little overwhelming and you can't have any kind of dinner conversation without shouting.

Speaking of the Jazz Kitchen, guess what I'm making for dinner tonight? :goodvibes

See if I can remember everything.

AmySue, Hope you feel much better by tomorrow! :flower3:

Just for your information, all third graders at Becky's school get to do all of this stuff. But to be honest to you, I started the Ma's pancake and butter tradition, when Kaitlyn was in the 3rd grade there. Now she is 16. And Beth, you are too kind. :goodvibes

Sarah, Woo hoo on the weight loss! Amazing!! You really weren't kidding us, when you announced last year, that you were going to make a change in yourself!:thumbsup2

Beth, That kitty litter cake is just too feece. (That is Dutch for you know what.) How appropriate. But I bet my grandsons would absolutely love it.

Carol, I can understand how you feel, since you love music so much. I would have loved to hear some live music as well. :rockband:

Stacie/rita, Your Nana sounds precious. So cute. :cutie:

I know nothing about hockey either. Also don't know too much about football or baseball. But ask me about cars and anything that goes fast, and I probably could help you out. The Speed Channel is always on around here. :rolleyes1
