Her name is Cricket, and she's a Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie). Kendall has been on the hunt for a new agility dog (since our Maltese didn't like the sport). So she found Cricket on the Humane Society's website on Sunday morning. We ran down to the PetsMart where they were showing her, and we brought her home at noon. She's a really sweet girl, but a bit timid. Hoping she comes out of her shell so she'll perform well at agility.

Michelle - I am so sorry about your job loss. It's tough out there right now, we've had lots of lay offs at my work, too. It's just so sad.

I wanted to add about KTLA and their morning news team. We watch them every single day - weekends, too! I love Mark (he does a local disco radio show on the weekends and is so good!) and Cher. She was engaged and her fiance dumped her, right? I felt so bad for her because she seems so sweet. And I love her hair grown out, that mushroom look she had last year was awful! I don't care for Michaela. She seems phony and full of herself to me. But, eh, everyone has an opinion, right? We also like Jessica and Alley (the new out "on scene" reporter) - although they both can be a bit overly "chipper" at times. Our favorite and we miss him dearly is Emmet. He got transfered to nights and we don't see him much anymore. I did catch him on the news during the election. He announced that OBama was the winner and he teared up. It was quite touching. Ok, enough about that - back to our planning!

Linda! I'm glad you're here. I just got off the phone with Disney tours.
I figured I'd better call and double check that the afternoon tour was still being offered. With all the changes DL has going on lately, you just never know.

Well, it is BUT the time has changed from 2:30 to 2:00. The CM I spoke with couldn't tell me if that was a time change or if I'd just been given the WRONG times before. Didn't want to make another CM look bad I guess.

So, the tour starts at 2 and you are asked to check in about 15 minutes prior to the start time. So by 1:45.

Breakfast is booked for that morning at 8. So if we figure breakfast is from 8 to.....what, say 10?? Two hours? Then we can do the hunt from 10:15 right up until 1:30 or so.

Wendy, Melody, Dawn, is that enough time? Can you make the hunt work in a little over 3 hours????


(And can I just say how annoyed I get when Disney does crap like this???? Their calendar is all over the place, first things are closed, then they aren't, and now they either changed the tour time OR the other CM gave me the wrong time, because I specifically called once before already. Geesh, good thing I double checked so we can make any schedule adjustments if needed. )

I'm not sure. I can't recall what time Tracey said and I don't have it on the front page for some reason. Maybe she'll pop in and answer it for you.

Since all 3 of us are doing the walk in walt's tour and the scavenger hunt.. we just need to make sure that we have enough time to wrap it up and get to the tour. So be there to get your prizes or we keep them and divide up the loot amongst ourselves. AaaaaaaarrrrG... pirate princesses we be!

OK, I thought 3 hours would be long enough but I wasn't sure. If after doing the test run it seems to be cutting it close, maybe we can pass out the presents later that evening?
The WIWF tour runs from 2 to around 6. Those of us NOT doing the tour were going to meet up at a counter service such as Rancho del Zocalo or Riverbelle for dinner so maybe we can do it at one of those places once the tour is over? I don't know. It's just a thought as a back up in case time is running short.

I took the tour in October and they ask you to check in at that garden area on Main Street near City Hall. That's also where you'll be eating your meal.

BTW, while I had her on the phone, I asked about the meal offerings for the tour and it's the same as when we were there. Sandwiches; turkey, tuna, ham, and a veggie/cheese. Chips or fruits, 2 cookies, and a drink.

As you know I sent out PMs asking for confirmations from those attending the trip. It's not imperative that we have an exact count but it's nice to know who all is still coming, especially since there are several we haven't heard from in awhile.

OK - I have been lurking around this thread off and on for the past 9 months or so not thinking I would ever be able to pull off getting away for a weekend. Well last night I had a dream that I was on the DIS girls only trip! I think that is a sign I should at least attempt to make this trip work!
So - is it to late to get in on this fun or do I need to wait until next year? Of course, I haven't run it by dh yet. But I should be able to convince him I need a break from him and the kids!

Is it too late to sign up for stuff, specifically the scavenger hunt, the DVC tour, and lunch at the WCT?

My friend Cathy kinda seems to be pooping out on me a bit regarding the trip, and I'm still not quite sure what she'd want to do. I emailed her today about the scavenger hunt, the DVC tour, and the lunch at WCT Sunday afternoon. I haven't heard back from her yet, but hopefully I'll know for sure in the next day or two.

Also, the flights she wants me to book happen to be the ones where we'd spend the least amount of time at Disneyland. Gee, I think I should take this as a hint, right?

It's starting to get me down a bit. (And the ladies trip is something I should look forward to, but instead I'm bummed out about it because of my friend's lack of enthusiasm.)

I had scheduled the VIP tour from 9:30 to 3:30, with the intention of ending up at the train station viewing the parade at the end. Of course, that is not going to happen now. We can adjust the tour time, if we prefer 10-4??? We can end at DL, and then any of the times will be just fine.

Oh, you people that balance your check books!! Okay, I will cash the ones I have, but I am still waiting for two, and I just hate to go to the bank. I am an online sort of girl. But for you dear Dawn, and Heather too, I will go to the bank, and swing through Starbucks on the way.

OKAY, I have requested a reservation from the VIP tour, but they have not confirmed this for us yet!! So annoying. So please put me and friend Terri in a spot. I think the 4:20 is preferable.

Should we get a table throught he VIP, and it is closer to one end or the other, then we can shuffle everything all up again.

I was looking at a picture online of CC and it is darn tiny. Looks like maybe only 10 or 12 four top tables, so I can see why they might have trouble fitting us all in.
