Trying to catch up, so I'm writing bits & pieces before posting:
Kelly, my oldest DD was in GS for 12 years, with me as the leader about 10 of those 12 years. We had fun, the girls will always remember all the things we did. We were one of the most active troops in our group. The summer between 6th & 7th grade we took them (from Arizona) to Savannah, GA, then to WDW for 7 days! Man, I was wore out after that. But we took lots of pictures and have great memories. And that trip was fully funded by the cookies we sold over the previous 3 years, we started planning when they were in 3rd grade. Then, in 2007, when they all graduated high school, we took them on a cruise. We were down to 6 girls by then, and only 4 went, but 3 moms went as well and we had a blast. Another great memory. I was the pusher for the grocery store selling, only because I knew how much profit we could make, much more than the door-to-door selling. It is definitely a pain, but also more than worth it. The cookie selling we did while they were in 6th grade was the most we ever did, and that included 25 cookie booths at the stores!!! We had 10 girls at the time, so it was a pretty busy time!! Hang in there, it gets easier once the girls can take over leading the meetings. It also helps if the parents are very involved, which I'm very fortunate that mine were.
I love Romy and Michele's High School Reunion!! And Shawshank Redemption, we own that one. And Breakfast Club, I could probably name a friend for each character, I think we own that one, too.
Before I forget, I'm going to DLR next weekend, Jan. 17-19, my birthday is the 18th and I got my email last week. Has anyone gone for their birthday yet? Just curious how it works, since I have an AP.
Okay, I think I'm all caught up, that only took about 2 hours!!!
