As for the totes, if you've already spent a lot on the bag itself then don't worry about it. The "fillers" were only to make the cost even. So if I find a cute tote bag on clearance for 10 bucks, I can add some extras to make it equal to the required amount. Make sense?

PLEASE everyone resist the temptation to go over board on extras!!! I know it's fun, but we want to keep it fun and NOT make anyone feel they didn't include enough little goodies inside it, kwim?

I'm also too lazy to go looking for a picture (see above post about multi quoting), but the ones that I remember being even better were the gum cigarettes that had powder in them so that you could blow "smoke". My favorite pack had a penguin on it and they were Cool brand. We also liked the bubblegum cigars and the big league chew gum that was like chewing tobacco. Oh the things that today's kids are missing out on!

Me too!! Gum cigarettes. My friends and I thought we were so cool with these things.
We should buy a pack for Callie.

That's what I thought... maybe it's just my mood today, but it seemed like everyone who mentioned totes was also talking about the extras they were going to stuff into it!

I know. I think it's easy to get excited, and I'm hoping to get a good enough deal on my tote that I can add some goodies,
BUT like I said, PLEASE, PLEASE everyone refrain from going overboard. I'd feel terrible if someone felt guilty because they didn't add a bunch of extras.

That's not what this is about. We want to keep it fun. The extras were ONLY meant to ensure an even amount was spent. (Around $20 total)

once i bought some princess candy cigarettes..they had crowns on them..for a girls trip to vegas... and one of my friends was eatting them up then she chipped her tooth on one them... i told her... well who knew you'd be a chain smoker!

I'll probably end up calling lots of people 'Heyou' before I get to know everyone!


I got a GREAT deal on a nice bag, and am filling it to equal $20 spent. There are some creative ways to fill a bag without spending alot of money. Also, if you spend that much on just the bag itself, then I don't feel you should have to put more in it. I just wanted to fill it, so I searched for a deal.

Are we playing a game when opening them? I love that game you play at Christmas parties where everyone can steal a present from others so many times. It's fun...just playing the game will be fun. I suggest we play it after the jello shots!

I'm really excited about the candy buffet and had never heard of such a thing before. Great suggestions! I have lots of candy in mind. I'm helping to throw a baby shower in Feb, and might steal the idea for that. How fun!

YES!! That's what I thought those were; the gum cigarettes with the fake smoke.

I also remember the Big League gum that was all shredded.

See, I did all that and I didn't grow up to be a smoker or chew tobacco. Parents these days are too overprotective.

Hmmm, I think I need to do some pop quizzes to make sure everyone knows everyone else's real names.....

I know Stacie said she has a fun game to play with the totes, so we'll see what she's got in store!

I'm glad you like the candy buffet idea. I think it would be perfect for a baby shower, in fact one of the pics I posted was from a baby shower. It had a bunch of pink! LOL It can double as a party favor for everyone to take home with them.

Gee, did anyone else notice that even though this thread JUST started on January 7 that we are already on page 100!!!

What's more amazing is that I left the house after you wrote that post, and now we're back and there are 6 more pages that I haven't read yet. Jinkies!

In a better mood! Cat hasn't expired and almost seems to be doing better (my magical healing properties just by being near, obviously) and then we went to the playground and E met another sturdy 4 year old to play with, and I might have made a friend too.
