Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been on much lately but things have been hectic. It seems like one thing after the other. I went to Reno for a week and promptly spent my whole trip and the week after quite sick. I've also been working a ton and having major computer problems. My laptop of less than a year totally fried out two days ago and I had to buy a new one. At least it stopped snowing and the rain is letting up. It is so weird to see Washington on the national news. I'm going to try to be on more, but my mom just had her shoulder replaced and I'll be helping take care of her when I'm not working overtime. I'm so looking forward to the trip and am looking forward to meetin everyone.

Last night i put all the little stuff i have been picking up as surprises for inside the tote. It was so much fun. I can't wait for the trip..it's going to be so much fun

The pizza party committee is still working on plans--so we'll let you know about that. I wish you lived closer too!

Ok Girls--I've found a new "dangerous" store--it's called Home Goods. For me--it's WORSE than Target. So many cool things at great prices. Definitely dangerous.

And Callie--believe it or not, I FINALLY took the Shag prints and ordered frames and mats today. (It's been almost a year.) I got a killer price at Michaels--they gave me 60% off everything because I got them all done at once, and then after I did the rest of my shopping and came back to settle up, the guy discounted it even further--I swear I think I got 80% off if I actually figured it up (he essentially didn't charge me for one of the framing jobs). PLUS he gave me 20% off all the other stuff I bought. It was amazing. It took over two hours to pick out mats for the five prints. I'm really happy with all but one--they didn't have a bright bright red that I wanted. Sigh. Oh well. I'm supposed to have them Jan. 25th. I'll try to take pics and send them.

I am lucky to live on high ground Beth, so the flooding isn't effecting me except when planning my driving routes around town. I am lucky I still don't live in my child hood home. I believe it is underwater!

I think a group pic with that hat would be a riot. And my dh doesn't do anything but support my addiction. We decided when we got married that he would be ok with my disney addiction as long as I was ok with his computer addiction. He never gives me a hard time about my trips...he just says "alright, I wanted to do another computer upgrade!"

You are lucky!! To have a DH who doesn't think you are nuts, and that your house is on higher ground.

Are you planning on meeting up with us later on Saturday, or just on Sunday? I'm not sure what time Allyson and I will get up and moving on Saturday, but I know we definitely want to be there for park opening on Sunday. I'm hoping to find out that I can go to City Hall or Guest Relations instead of a ticket booth!!

I'm glad to hear your aren't getting washed away. Guess I never thought about flooding when I thought about moving to WA.

I'm pretty sure that you can go to Guest Relations at least. But last Sunday the line was pretty long there too (just not as long as the ticket booths!)

Hi everyone. I took the kids to swim lessons and some parent didn't put their infant in a swim diaper and about half way through the lesson there were "floaties". They had to evacuate the kids pool and continue the lessons in the large pool which was much colder! All these 6 months old were shivering like crazy...and so were the parents. Anyway, I am just finishing up giving the kids baths to try to clean them all up from that incident. DH was in the pool at the time and once the kids are down for the night he will have to take a pretty thorough shower! Glad I wasn't in the pool!

Steph, when are you thinking you'll be there with your girls? We're staying Sunday night and going on Monday for Zoe's b-day. If you would be interested, Zoe and I could maybe meet up with you. That way your DD would have someone to go on some of the bigger rides with, and/or another adult to watch while you and DD went on the bigger ride.
As for something special....there are so many things. I'd say the "most special" think DD has done at Disneyland so far has been the priness lunch. She LOVED that. Second was Lilo and Stitch breakfast (cheaper, too!) and third was Club Libby Lu makeover. And, I'd make sure to get (or make) an autograph book.

It's probably going to be the 11th thru the 14th, that would have been fun though. I have to pull my oldest out of school for those days so I have to arrange that still. I wasn't sure at first but last week I found out I'm headed to Florida soon after my leave for a bit. I don't want to deal with the spring break crowds and then my odd has the state tests (can't pull her out then).

Thanks for the tips on the special things. We've done Lilo & Stitch twice and Ariel's twice as well. I'm thinking Goofy's breakfast this time...I'm not certain but I need to get going on this so I can get my priorty seating in.

Evening all. Well I think with everything going on I have just been mentally and physically exhausted. After 2 days of virtually no sleep it finally hit me and we came home from church and I laid down and slept until it was time for her to go to her counseling. So we dropped her off and then took the little one's to my parents house. Then we went back and met with our pastor.

It was a GREAT session VERY enlightening. His doctorate is in counseling and he is REALLY good. I have gone to therapists before when I was married to my ex AND with Shane when we were first married and NONE of the so called "professionals" did I like as much as my pastor. I felt like he really listened and I liked what he said. He didn't give us the typical double talke or stupid vague questions that the others usually do and he wasn't constantly "on the clock". He told us he thought he could help but if at any time he felt it was out of his hands he would recommend more serious help but to be honest I don't want to go to anyone else if I can help it because I have BEEN to those others and I didn't like their ways. I didn't feel it was helpful. He wants Lynn to meet with him weekly and for us to do family counseling including the little girls for awhile so we can work on communication as a family. So I felt REALLY good about the whole thing.

It did upset me a bit though because he said that he felt that she might be too far gone and that she is turning into her mom and that she has been exposed to it so long that he is not sure if she can be changed at this point. He said she was very forthcoming about what she did but had a sort of pride about it almost bragging and when we were talking about it today she admitted that she didn't think much about it all because she has never REALLY gotten into any trouble which is EXACTLY what I have always said. She keeps doing this stuff because they keep slapping her on the wrist.

She is not going to get a wake up call to she goes to jail and gets "scared" straight. She is WAY too cocky right now and needs a major wake up call!

Pastor also said that he thinks her getting back in contact with her mom is a terrible idea which I agreed with all along. So I am glad he was with me on that front. So it was a great session all the way round. We go back again on Tues so I am very anxious for this to get started and to make some headways. I just hope she is receptive to it.

Anyway I am not working tomorrow because mom won't be at work so I am going in Tues instead. I am feeling a little better so I hope to workout FINALLY this week. It's going to be a bit crazy because now on top of all the other stuff we have going on we now are going to have the counseling on Tuesdays and we have a girl scout meeting Thursday night, Lynn gets off early on Wed and Thurs for finals and has NO school on Friday but she works in the afternoon and starting Thursday I have to start going to my parents house every day to feed because they will be gone. So it shall be interesting.

But anyway I am going to TRY and get some sleep. My whole system is out of whack. I had a small bowl of cereal today and NO lunch and then I did finally get hungry by dinnertime but I haven't really been hungry and I haven't been tired but then when I finally DO get tired I am exhausted. I am just completely drained from this whole ordeal.

I am glad I have this place as a distraction. I like to read you guy's posts and think about our trip because it takes my minds off things and gives me something positive to think about!!
