Ok, so I got to thinking how unfair life is sometimes. I woke up with a huge zit on my cheek today. How unfair is that? Especially since I was looking for new wrinkle cream this weekend. Zits and wrinkles? You know God must have a humor for that to happen.
My mom felt that very same way.
We rented bug's life, and we were finally watching the extras. They have a Voice Casting feature, and they showed this little blond girl...hubby says "who is that?" I said "she plays Dot". He says "no, I recognize her", and since he NEVER recognizes actors that's amazing, and then they showed her name as though in answer to his confusion. And then you could totally see that it was her, at age 6 or so.
I should find out today if we are going to need to buy a new car. I think my husband and I are leaning toward the Hyundai Elantra...anyone have any knowledge or experience with this car?
I'll ask hubby, who knows about all things Vehicle.
And how do they ever go anywhere together. She would need two of those big SUVs (the 8 or 9 passenger ones) to be able to transport everyone. And then how do you pay for that???
My good friend has 5...3 bio, and 2 of her husband's nieces who have been with them since they were infants. Around two years ago, my friend's sister, who divorced her first husband b/c he was molesting some of their girls, had married again, and the new guy was rather unstable, and she'd just had a baby with him when he decided to do something funky about custody of his first kids, and that landed the two of them in jail. So my friend suddenly got her sister's 7 children, too. And since it was a "family foster", they got NO money from the state whatsoever. If I'd fostered them I would have gotten food allowance for them, clothing, etc. But my friend got nothing.
And then sister and husband were released from jail, she got pg again, and now that child is being taken from her too.
My friend had 12 children in her large-ish ranch house for over a year, on ONE salary.
They bought a BIG passenger van to go places. not a minivan or SUV, but a proper passenger van like church daycares or church senior groups pick people up in.
Now friend and sister's parents have all the kids, and they will be fully adopting the two youngest, and the extreme pressure is off my friend and her husband.
And all of the kids were homeschooled, and homeschooled successfully! So it can be done, though I'm sure it's chaos when everyone is still young...friend and sister had olders, and the youngers listened to the olders nicely, but I'm sure if it had all happened a few years earlier it would have been much, much harder.
Molly, did you decide yet?
Sigh. I can't, I just can't. I'm sad. But I can't. No tours for Molly!
I think I just may do that. I was also thinking that maybe we'd make it a point to ride Pirates while you all are dining at Blue Bayou and giving a shout out to my DIS girls!!!
Seriously fun idea. I'm up for it!!!
