Girls Only Disneyland Trip!! Old thread. New link in first post

I'll hold your hand if you hold mine. I have literally spent 10 nights away from Ty since he was born 18 months ago. That's a total of aroung 540 days (give or take a few) and I have spent 530 of them with him. And, all 10 that I have been away for have been work related. This is a big step for me to leave him by choice, and I am sure that I will be missing him too, especially on Sunday which is his 18 month birthday.

My only consolation is that unlike many of the other ladies kids, Ty can't tell me how much he's going to miss me while I'm gone... But, I also know that he and Dave will have a fun weekend being boys without me, and I know that Ruben & your kids will have a great time too!

gotta say I am feeling like a horrible mother here. the 2 of you are already weepy and I can't wait to run screaming from this house of laundry, diapers, crayon-marked walls, and constant arguing over whose turn it is to play halo 3! no matter what happens on this trip, I won't have to wipe anyone's bottom (ok well except my own), cook anyone meals, or say 10 times a day "why didn't you tell mommy you had to go potty".

That alone is worth the world....being at DLR is just the icing on the cake.

I just gotta say...can't come close to keeping up with these boards, but I read enough to see there was a lot of hair cutting and coloring going on.

Just so you all know...I won't even be thinking about doing anything like that. The past week has just about killed me and I am not at all prepared to take this trip...but I don't care.

Tomorrow night I am throwing some clothes in a bag, getting a few winks sleep, and hitting the road to pick up the other Vegas gals! You'll have to take me as I am.

I may not even shower.....

What kind of tank/camis are they?

They are the "shapewear" tanks/camis; at Walmart, they have Sweet Nothings by Maidenform. At Target, they're Assets, which were designed by the same lady who invented Spanx (I googled it). The ones at Target are $20-26, Walmart's are about $15, and I actually like how they fit better.

I think you're right! She may even have a portable shower in there somewhere. Seeing Beth's packing list made me realize I really don't need to worry about throwing some clothes in a bag at the last minute....if I don't have something..she will!

Can I whine for a second? Today is not going as planned. I was supposed to attend a conference in San Jose today (I scored complimentary tickets which is needed these days when companies don't pay for professional develpoment kind of things). Anyway, I'm house bound with two cases of conjunctivitis (DS4 and me). I want to blame my DH, as DS4 had a doctor appointment yesterday due to his cold and red eyes, but DH insisted I should cancel it. Anyway, today I have a mild case of pink eye as well and I can't send DS to preschool until he's been on medication for at least 24 hours. So today is shot. And I am tired and grumpy and frustrated that things are not going according to plan.

Don't worry, meds are on the way and I will be completely cured of this mild case of conjunctivitis by Friday morning. I just feel like I'm walking through molasses today and can't get anywhere I feel I need to. But in the big scheme of things, all this stuff is silly and good things are coming soon!

Morning all.

Jen so sorry to hear about the pink eye. Katy and Shelby both got that last year during our soccer tournament. Kept them BOTH out of school for a week. Make sure you get some drops before you come and you should get it cleared up fairly quickly!

Kate sorry things aren't going well. I think we all are having hard times right now. Hopefully things start looking up for you soon and hope to see you next year!

I am off to my doc apt here in a an hour and then the rest of the day not much else going on. Have to trust mom to get our boarding passes since I will be in my apt right at the same time. She has a bunch of apts so I HOPE she doesn't get too busy and not do it cuz I don't want to get in the dreaded "C" group

And she STILL hasn't picked up our totes from the neighbor. Boy talk about waiting till the last minute but that's m'mom! Sheesh! But I THINK we have everything else done. Got our candy, got our bags for the totes, etc etc.

I just wish I didn't have to wait till practically the LAST second to pack my toiletries (meds etc) before we leave cuz then I am ALWAYS afraid I will forget something. But I packed my phone and camera charger and tonight when I get home I will switch out the stuff from my purse to my messenger bag so hopefully that will be all good. Sure wish I didn't have to go to the stupid lab in the morning.

UGH!

Too much to think about! So afraid I am going to forget something. Just wish I could get up and go STRAIGHT to the airport! But close! Other than getting my blood drawn then I am going to come home and we can go! WHEW!!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT last day and I am sure we will all talk again a bunch before tomorrow and I know I will probably get on at least once tomorrow before I leave for any of you that aren't leaving first thing tomorrow.
