(glad to hear your mom was hungry...great sign)

Re: a question someone posed last night:

I looked on the DL site last night and I'm still not clear about what is allowed in the parks. It used to be that no outside food or drink could come in, they set aside a picnic area before you got inside DL. And if you look on other sites (maybe even this one), they also say something to that effect. But has that policy changed? I know there is a bag search before you go inside the parks, but I could not find an answer.

I'm now wondering if you can bring in your water bottle? I"m rushed today (pre-birthday madness) but if I can a chance before Thurs I will call them.
They don't care if you bring in snacky type foods. When I'm with the family, I always bring in crackers, trail mix, granola bars, cookies, water and soda bottles.

No glass and no full meals, like bags of Burger King or whatever.

Oh my gosh, it's Theresa's birthday tomorrow?!!! Well.......

Hmmm, I think capri's and crocs might be a good idea for rain.

Be careful wearing crocs into the parks when it is wet and rainy. I made that mistake last month and wore my croc mary jane's. I was slipping and sliding all over the pavement. Almost landed on my behind a few times!

I am so happy that I am raising another Disney addict! :lmao: :rotfl:
I am home with a sick DS3 while the rest of the family went to church. I asked him if he wanted to watch anything - his response? "Watch Disneyland!" :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
It is an old VHS called "A Day in Disneyland" - made in the early 90's I believe. Fun to watch and see how things have changed.:)
On another note - I better not get this cold of his!

Hey, have you stayed in the HoJo rooms that are the: Nqq3/Balc/Ns/2 Queens/5 People Max/ Standard/Highway Side/Fridge/ Coffee Maker/Hairdryer/Internet ??
Are they nice? Small? Older? :confused3

Hey Beth. The NQQ3 rooms are the FREEWAY facing rooms in Building 1. I personally wouldn't stay in one of those because I wouldn't be able to sleep with the noise. They also do not have the new beds nor microwaves. I'd pick one of the Double/Double rooms in the Pavillion buildings ahead of the freeway rooms. Heck, I would probably stay elsewhere if that was all that was available, but that's just me.

Yeah, I think I remember that happening last time it rained and I wore crocs. Hmmm, now I gotta think of some other proper footwear for the rain. I hate wet socks and shoes. :headache:

Thanks, Beth! I forgot I'm running to the DL ticket counter tomorrow to get my AP, so if anyone has any questions, let me know.

Uhhhh, hello everyone. My name is Beth and I'm a compulsive over packer. :wave2: :rolleyes1

You know it's bad when your 12 year old daughter walks into your room, looks at your stuffed suitcase, looks at you, looks at your suitcase again and says, "What are you doing Mom??? Aren't you only going for 5 days??"

:sad2:

Thanks for that info Callie. I'll stick with the pool view rooms then. :thumbsup2

Were you able to get the reservation online? I tried and everything I do it says Rate Plan not Available. Guess I'll call tomorrow... Oh yeah, I'm trying for Oct. 23-25 Whoo-Hoo!!

Ok, thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes. My Mom is doing great. She was in a tremendous amount of pain (despite many doses of morphine) and since she was an "add-on" to the surgery schedule the surgery didn't start till 2:30 p.m. (I was at the hospital at 9:30 a.m.--no breakfast) after three hours of sleep!) It turned out that they did not have to replace the hip; instead they inserted a pin (maybe more than one--not sure). The surgery was about 2 1/2 hours. We finally got to see her at 7 p.m. She was awake, alert and able to raise her legs off the bed (she couldn't move prior to the surgery without screaming in pain).

I was not alone--when my Mom had her obstructed bowel three years ago the first day home from the hospital I knew we needed help. One of my clients (who also sees our same doctor) had had a lady taking care of his Mom for 7 years. His Mom had just died in February--my Mom came home in March. I called this lady--her name is Ines--that day and she started the next day and has been with her ever since (much to my Mom's chagrin at times). She is there 5 1/2 days a week and is a companion/caregiver. She is a God-send. I thought about not calling her last night but knew that she would be hurt and angry so I called her and she came to the hospital last night. Then to the Paradise Pier hotel with me at 2 a.m. to get the stuff from the hotel room. Then she came to the hospital at 1 p.m. today and stayed with me until after Mom got out of surgery. I don't know what my Mom would do without her (and frankly, I don't know what I would do without her.) I am a true believer in the fact that God/the Universe/whatever you believe in brings to your life those things you need and I know that's why Ines came into our life.

So, all is well, Mom is on the road to recovery (they're getting her up to walk tomorrow :scared1: ) and I am exhausted, going to eat something chocolate and going to bed.

And if I haven't said it before, I am truly grateful that through the power of the Internet I have met such wonderful friends as all of you! I can't wait for next week! Girl Power!

I am so glad to hear your mom is doing well.

So much chatting yesterday. I tried to catch up with everything, but there is just so much.

Cheryl- Glad to hear you mom's surgery went well. Isn't it amazing how fast they now get people out of bed to walk post surgery? Even for hips. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for you mom.

Just a quick update of my BFF's baby....she had a rough day yesterday. She stopped breathing twice and they ended up having to re-intubate her. My friend thought she was gonna lose her. Lucky, all the docs on the case happened to be on the unit when it happened, so they were able to care for her right away. Her heart is doing well, and her lungs are clear, and all her vitals are stable. It just looks like she is too little to handle it on her own so close to surgery. They are going to wait a little longer before removing the tube. They are postive though that the tube will be removed and she will breathe on her own soon. Just need to give her some more time. I am hoping to get an update sometime this morning.

Thank you for everyone who is sending prayers and good thoughts.

I hope that she is doing better today. I can't imagine what her little body has been through.

Cristabel: the Deluxe pass at Costco is $269 AND you get a $50 gift card back. Just sayin'

But to add parking it's another $59. I don't know if I can fork over that much at one time. Also you can't do the payment plan through Costco, you'd have to buy directly from the park.

Ok--so Mom called this morning and wanted her glasses so she can read the menus! LOL--so I guess she's hungry (good sign, right?) I also have to take her shoes so she can walk. (She has arthritic nodules on the bottom of her feet (which I think I'm getting too--going to doc on Tues.) which means she has to have shoes on to be able to walk.

I hadn't planned to go to work today because I was supposed to be at DL, so think I will go see her for a while and then maybe go to the office to try to get a jump on things for the week (or . . . . maybe not). I could also use the time to get organized for the trip too.

That's good that your mom has an appetite. Hope things go smoothly!

That's great!! I'm going to make a reservation too then for the 23rd thru the 25th. It will be a fun mini meet!! :dance3:

Hopefully I can make it!

:thumbsup2
Hey can you PM me your last name. I'm going to add you to the reservation for our room.

Will do!

You can bring full meals but you have to eat in the picnic area outside the park.

I remember that movie! Whenever I go with my aunt & little cousins we watch it in her expedition. It's SO old :lmao:

I wish I could go on the mini meet in Oct. Luck would have it that I have to work that weekend because of an air show and we all work the weekend of those.

I made all of the tags today for the schedules. I put my cricut to work and made 110 of them. Now I just need to cut the shrunk schedules out and then adhere them to the tags.

I hope you all are having a nice day.

The discount came up for me, but I didn't book it since I am calling the HoJo tomorrow anyway to confirm this weeks reservation. I just figured I'd book it then.

Hopefully I can make it!

Will do!
I hope you can make it too!
Did I accidentally quote you?? :rotfl: That post was for Capri to send me her last name. ;)

I'm almost all packed!! :yay: It was easy. I just found the biggest suitcase I own, grabbed everything in sight and threw it all in. :thumbsup2

Only a few little last minute things left to add and I'm good to go. :cool1:

Michelle, Stacie, or Cheryl,
Which one of you was bringing the boom box for the pizza party to play the CD on? I can't remember.

Well you are WAY ahead of me! :) I haven't even started! :lmao: I am always a last minute packer though. I will be packing late Wednesday night I'm sure. I still got to figure out what I am going to do with that shirt!:confused3 Still might cut it - hoping to see a picture first though.:)
