Well that wasn't a "No, I won't be sharing a room with you all and no I won't be sleeping on the bottom bunk either" So that's a good thing. :rotfl:
Oh, I thought that was just a given. :rotfl2:

Actually at this point I am so lost, I don't even know what hotel we are talking about anymore. :lmao:

No seriously, I don't. I hear talk of a kitchen and pirates. Where the heck is that?? I'll stay anywhere there is a pirate in my kitchen.

Capri, I think that is a great idea for next year's theme!pirate:
And I'm thinking a pineapple jello shot with some Captain Morgan would be delish!:drinking1
:lmao: I like how we plan our theme around what booze goes best with it. :thumbsup2

Actually, I think we are going to have to do a poll on next years Meet and Greet party theme. The Mardi Gras theme was so fun! I loved it. And so far we've talked about some great ideas for next time.

1. A movie night/slumber party theme. Come in your pajamas. Toe nail painting. Popcorn. popcorn:: Movie? Or awards ceremony?? (award for funniest, for nicest, for whatever??) Do Stacie's pillow case exchange instead of a tote exchange. http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/b...Id=PartySupplies&cm_re=PS-_-MovieNight-_-F2L2

2. A luau theme. Come in flip flops and your tackiest Hawaiian shirt, or coconut bra. Get leid. Limbo contest. Hula hoops contest. Umbrella drinks. We can do a beach towel exchange. http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/s...ndecaCategory&categoryFromSearch=true&rd=luau

3. A fiesta theme. Come in your funkiest Ugly Betty poncho and sombrero. Shake your maracas. Dig into chips, salsa, and margaritas. Pinata time! Not sure what we'd exchange for this one. Hats maybe? http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/b...rtySupplies&categoryFromSearch=true&rd=fiesta

4. A pirate theme. Come in your coolest (hottest?) pirate gear, don't forget the eye patch. pirate: Contest for best pirate imitation. Bring on the rum. We can exchange little treasure chests filled with pirate's booty. http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/s...ecaCategory&categoryFromSearch=true&rd=pirate

OKay, so obviously all the ideas mentioned by everyone so far are in the very beginning planning stages and still need to be fine tuned and thought out, but so far some great ones have been thrown out there!! Keep 'em coming. :yay:

Ladies I have risen from the dead and am back on the board. I was sorry not to make it to the girls trip this time around but my year had a bad case of the downers. With my dad passing, helping mom out, hubby turning 40 and day before getting laid off pushing him into a major depression...it had been ROUGH!!! I have been in a world of survival that I hope no one has to share.......

The good news is hubby found a new job, medication is helping his mindset but best of all I get to celebrate Mothers Day AND my moms 75th at DL!!!:cheer2:

We are SO in need of this trip and I am so excited I had to share with you all. I knew you would celebrate with me! It would take me a zillion days to read what all has been happening in your lives but I will try to jump aboard your current train and dive in if you will have me back. :confused3

Missed you and welcome back. Just in time for the party planning and room planning. So far I have offered a free yard for tenting for the overly cheap person and they are talking about bunk beds and sleeping 7 ore more in a suite or family room. I think you might still have a chance on the bathtub or balcony.

So sorry to hear your news and hope things get better soon.

Happy Easter everyone.

Hey Amy! I wondered what happened to you!! I am so sorry to hear about all you went through. Rough sounds like an understatement.

I am glad that things seem to be looking up and you are heading back to Disneyland. What a nice way to celebrate Mother's Day and your mom's milestone birthday. How fun!

No worries about catching up, just glad to have you back. :goodvibes

It's late already and I am off to bed. Night to anyone still awake!

Hmmm... tough call between a bathtub or balcony??? I have tried the bathtub route before and even being short it never was comfy....so party of one on the balcony oh and an extra blanket or too please!!!:thumbsup2

I had this whole thing written up about how it's a really weird decision we made, to buy in...I mean, we don't even own a house and we're not perfect...but ultimately we are going to disney anyway, we're going to start our WDW obsession within a year (and since we have family out there we're sure we'll continue to go!), and it seemed like a better idea to do it this way instead of by installments, one trip to Pop Century or Coronado Springs at a time, LOL.

Well congratulations on your decision! I'm not the person to talk to if you want to be practical re. this type of thing...as I really do love DVC! My DH thinks it's an over the top expense, and I'm actually quite shocked I got him to buy into it (and then add-on). Secretly, he loves this Disney stuff, too, but the practical side of him won't admit it. Funny story...after deciding and signing on for the AP incentives, my DH gets upset and says he wishes I hadn't done that (even though this was a decision he agreed to), as we're going to make more trips then we need to with APs and each trip is going to cost us money, blah, blah, blah, blah. So I assure him we'll be careful and won't go too often, blah, blah, blah, blah, and I go to bed feeling guilty for spending so much cash on Disney. Next morning, he comes to me and says, we had better go to Disney and stay at HoJos as soon as we get our APs so the new APs to be timed far off from the one I got in March. Got to love that he has a little crazy in him too! :rotfl: Anyway, since he's said that, I just can't wait to get that paperwork done and those APs in my hot little hands so I can plan a trip!

Grizz, I don't have that form. I know different states have different things...I have a WA form about timeshares that other states don't get...so you seem to have something that WA types don't get?

Tomorrow call your guide or Quality Assurance...I had to call QA for a question about the WA thing...there was no place to sign, but that sheet of paper listing all the things to sign and date listed it, I was confused...but they cleared it up for me in a millsecond.

I'll call tomorrow. Thanks. :goodvibes

Stacie gets my margarita and some divas could duel in pirate style over Jacob from Twilight. This time I will bring me some gluten free goodies. Your version of the party sounds interesting. Will there be Chippendale pirates there?

Oh, I thought that was just a given. :rotfl2:

Still talking about the Hojo's.

Is there anyother way to plan?

I love the jammies! Can do a PJ awards too. And I love pillow case exchanges!

Fruity umbrella drinks with rum?

I won't shake my maracas....don't want to hurt anyone.

4. A pirate theme. Come in your coolest (hottest?) pirate gear, don't forget the eye patch. pirate: Contest for best pirate imitation. Bring on the rum. Arrrgggg!

OKay, so obviously all the ideas mentioned by everyone so far are in the very beginning planning stages and still need to be fine tuned and thought out, but so far some great ones have been thrown out there!! Keep 'em coming. :yay:

I love all those ideas. So cute.

Let's do a Hawaiian pirate pajama party with nachos and margaritas! And I've got some good ideas for Mickey pedicures!

Did I just see that Jen wants to be chair of the meet and greet? I'm sure its what I read. Just squint between the lines and she's offered to do it.

Given that I didn't even make it to Anaheim on Thursday the last two meets, I might not be your best choice. Unless we want to do one of those "virtual meet and greets. " But I do have some good ideas on Mickey pedicures. :goodvibes

That it does. Heck, I bet if we get a 2 queen suite, we could probably get 7 people in there. Price would be 30ish a night I bet.

Talk about a bonus. So I am gonna take it that you are in???

More expensive, but more places to sleep. ;)

Aerobeds? Oh heck yeah! And while we're at it, why not use up that floor space in the kitchen? I have a brand new double areobed that would fit perfectly in the kitchen. That's another 1 or 2 ladies there. Unless of course we'd actually use the kitchen for cooking? If that's the case, I make a mean pot of Jazz Kitchen gumbo! But I figure as long as we have access to the bar and a couple of blenders set up there, as well as a path to the fridge, we'd be set. Heck, if I slept there, I wouldn't even have to stumble across the room to get my one-eye-open diet Pepsi in the morning. I could just roll over and grab one. ;)

Sounds like a P A R T Y!

Or, we could get one of those new Pirate themed kids suites at the HOJO. We could put three ladies on the king bed, 2 ladies on the sofa bed, 2 ladies on the bunk beds, and a couple ladies on the floor on Areobeds.....and we still have the benefit of two bathrooms......PLUS.....IT'S PIRATE THEMED! I mean C'MON! Bring on the rum!:hyper:

Plenty of room, you can join :yay:

And a pirate party would be fun. We could all wear eye patches and go around saying.....arrrrggggg! pirate: Then have more rum.

Yeah, keep it on the dl. I think that would only be one over what they suggest though for that room. Don't they say it sleeps 6? What's one more?

It would totally be like a slumber party/cheer camp/dorm room party type of deal. And DBF will be needing us to repeat those LPFs.

Linda must join us!!!

What's a pirate room without a pirate party?!. We should have pirate Diva princesses going arrrrggggg! on next year's lanyard tags and our t-shirts.:goodvibes

Oh my I've missed a lot!
Stacie, don't forget about me! I want in on that fun! :goodvibes MELODY come on over! Hey, doesn't Hojo's have connecting rooms? That would be the coolest!

I'm really liking this whole camp kinda thing! :thumbsup2

So excited! We really need to plan to have more hang out time, maybe get to the rooms earlier one day and watch a movie or something?

Hi Amy aka Seattle Busy Mom... we haven't met yet.. i just wanted to give you a *hug* and let you know that i hope this year is filled with better things for you and your family. I am so sorry for the devestating loss of your father...and the struggles of your husband. Take good care of you and relax when you are at disneyland on your mom's birthday.. you need to be good to you:hug:

dawn

As for the things we might do on mixer night...

i would ask that we don't do the awards for {funniest this or nicest that} it can be hurtful is there are only a few awards given out and lots of girls..girls don't join this thread for exculsionary activities and somehow those kinda things always turn into that. No matter how good the intentions.:confused3

Cristabel... the addition of an optional movie night is a good idea.. that would be thing to do..we could order in chinese?

Pirate Princess theme is cute.. but we could still add in the dips and chips and margaritas along with the rum drinks. A crockpot of chili con queso { melted cheese dip with salsa } and a big bowl of guacamole ... along with other dips and chips would be good. Maybe each person could bring an appetizer? or a dip?

It could be a Fusion party.. Good Idea, GrizzbuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZzzzzzzzz... Yeah yeah!!! Your papers got there. How wonderful *big hugs*... may you have many HaPpPy times and good memories made at your DVC.

I agree with the awards part above. Some people are traveling, some are on tight budgets and some like me lack social graces and artistic skills. It hurts when you get the award for something and know it is a token award. There is no way some of us can make an award winning costume or bake the best cake.

I also agree that I am here for building my social skills, meeting new people, friendship, and socialializing with adult women. I am not in here for awards. I did however love the tote bag exchange. Some people got $10 gifts and others got super deluxe packages and special handmade items. It was the luck of the draw and everyone had a chance to pick the worst and best prizes. I hope next time that we have something like that again.

As for food I am no soy and gluten. Should this be a meal like the pizza party or snacking on chips and dip. That is up to you as I will be setting alone with my own food or eat before hand. When you have allergies you do that and enjoy everything else.

As for costuming I like Hawaiian as ladies can make sarongs and stuff or get cheap items for that. Same with pajama party but would it include nighties and teddies? Pajama party would allow ladies on a budget or travelling to be able to dress up for little cash. I have a 35+ year old wool poncho for Mexican/salsa lol.

Food oh food you girls are torturing me with food. Good luck with the planning and I hope to be there.

Hi! Welcome

That it does. Heck, I bet if we get a 2 queen suite, we could probably get 7 people in there. Price would be 30ish a night I bet.

Mmmmmm, I could use a drinkie-poo.

Puts our pizza party with candy bar to shame. :sad2:

I like condiments too. BBQ suace is my fave. I love dipping all meats into it.

You're nasty. j/k

I ate a whole bag of easter candy myself. Its called chicks and bunnies. Basically its circus peanuts in the shape of chicks and bunnies. So bad, but so good.

Nice! :thumbsup2

Heck, my father can one up you......he made us dinner the other night. Yummy fish, fresh veggies, and rice. Then he took wheat bread, slapped some butter on it and parmesan cheese and put it in the oven. It totally tasted like feet smelling toast.

I so do not like mole.

I'm going next weekend after I get back from Vegas. I need my fix.

I love when Fed Ex comes by.....or UPS. What can brown do for you?

But you live in Vegas girl. Always something to do there.

My Fed Ex guy is a cutie!

I am calling your law school to tell on you!

The other feeling is...I took hours to read through those things (but not the small prospectus type booklets) and you didn't???

And this might have been a WA thing, but if you find any duplicate pages in your stacks of things to sign, SIGN THEM and send them in. We thought that the person packing the stuff made a mistake and set the duplicates aside, only to realize later that they did need those. :rolleyes1

I skimmed them--to make sure the numbers were right--but ultimately it's DISNEY and they aren't going to change anything for lowly us anyway.

The duplicate pages usually show up where there is a countersignature by Disney--sign both and send back. Of course, I do make copies before sending--but when you sign on-site they give you your copies back immediately.

Thank you!! I was wondering WHAT to do with that second copy and was thinking maybe it was MY copy. I don't think I would have sent them in if you hadn't said that.

OK, and I do have one question (which I'm going to need you to answer since Ms. Cheryll thinks I'll interpret her advice as legally binding :rotfl2: )

For that "Preliminary Change of Ownership Report" in that certification section..-- would OWNERSHIP TYPE be "Proprietorship"? :confused3

It's a weird form, I agree--I took title in a trust so that was easy. How are you taking title--community property? The other option is to mark "other" and fill it in. PM me how you're taking title.

Molly--you don't have that form because it's a California requirement to be able to record the VGC deed--it tells the assessor what the "value" of the interest is for property tax purposes. They apparently don't have a similar doc in Florida.

Can I just say I am totally lost on this thread and where everyone is staying?

Linda--did you mean that you're coming the end of the month to my house too (you're welcome of course)?

Oh my I've missed a lot!
Stacie, don't forget about me! I want in on that fun! :goodvibes MELODY come on over! Hey, doesn't Hojo's have connecting rooms? That would be the coolest!

Linda--did you mean that you're coming the end of the month to my house too (you're welcome of course)?

We are all staying with you of course ;)

The talk is still staying at the Hojo next year for the meet. There are suites and a kids pirate suite, so talk is of a group staying together in those.

Good morning everyone, Happy Friday, Happy Good Friday, Happy Late Passover, Happy whatever you are celebrating (stole that one from you know who!)

You are all so funny and I am having a really hard time keeping up but I'm trying...I think it just takes getting into shape for keeping up just like my running program. :)

I'm easy (not that easy but you know what I mean :rotfl: or maybe I am might have to ask Mr. CA :rotfl:)....so back to the topic whatever is decided for the meet I will be happy with!
