Hi ladies!! My name is Terrie and I'm pretty sure that I'll be joining you next year on the all girls DIS trip to Disneyland!!!:cool1: I'm sooo excited!!! I even asked my mom to go and she said yes, she'd go!! She's never been to DL or WDW, so I'm so excited for her:goodvibes!! I'm also going to ask my sister and she what she says, but she's in school right now, so I don't know how that will affect her.

This will be our first trip to DL, if we all go. I've been to WDW three times and I think we're going back next year as well. So, two trips for me..if we go next September!!

I need all the info I can get for myself and my mom!! Like cost of rooms, food, tours/events, etc. If there's a page I can go to with all of the info, please let me know!!! Thanks sooo much I hope to be joining you all next year!!!

Welcome!! What a wonderful trip you are planning, and with a great group of ladies, too! :goodvibes

Hi Terrie - welcome :flower3: That's great your mom and sister can come with you. Right now we do not have anything planned except for the dates, so no info there quite yet.

Thanks for the welcome MaryJo and jordansmomma!!! Jordan, I think I've actually pm'd you about this trip!! LOL!!

I just talked to my sister and she can't go. She graduates next spring and just has way too much work to do. I'm sad, but I understand.

So, it looks like it'll just be me and my mom!! Yea!! Does anyone know if we have to share rooms with anyone else or can we just have our own? I know I wouldn't mind, but not sure my mom will:confused3

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and meeting you. I can only access the boards from work:rolleyes1..which I guess I'm supposed to be working!!!:lmao::lmao:

So, If I don't contact right away, it's because I can't respond. I can check the dis on my phone, but I can't respond on it for some reason.

I can't wait to add a ticker for this trip!! Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks I can.:cloud9:

Yes, you did. I hope the info helped.
You can call me Debbie or Princess :lmao: (that's my Vegas Diva's trip name).

Well I understand about your sister. I am a student myself. After June 2010 I will have my AA and HOPEFULLY fingers crossed I will be NO I will BE IN the nursing program. But I will still make it to the ladies trip even if I am dragging along 50 # of books & studying while waiting for something.

I hope it all works out that you and your mom will get to come.

Oops... i posted on the wrong thread! i'm *so* not the techie.

Our youngest granddaughter is 4. I'm encouraging my daughter and her husband to keep her out of kinder this year and i'll work one on one with her.. we will see what they decide.
I know they have a dilema as she is a twin but her brother is just so much more mature and he's already reading, writing his name and family members names. she's just moving a little slower.

Without knowing more or seeing the kids, it sounds to me as if your granddaughter is more at a typical developmental level, whereas her twin brother maybe more advanced for his age. Most four year olds are not reading and writing yet. Those are skills that are usually just developing in kids by the time they're finishing kindergarten.

And although he maybe much more advanced and mature now, his development could slow, whereas suddenly her development could take off like a rocket.

If she is developmentally on track for her age, I wouldn't hold her back. She may really bloom in kindergarten, as so many children do. Young kids can especially have HUGE ranges in their developmental levels, and that's perfectly normal. The older children get, the more the gap is closed between those who were ahead and those that were behind.

Plus.....they are twins. Can you imagine the stigma she'll have to live down the rest of her school life explaining/defending why her twin brother is in a grade ahead of her? I can hear the constant teasing already. Putting myself in her shoes, I think it would be horrible and embarrassing for her.

Holding a child back should be a last resort. You have many months to work with her before kindergarten, and even then, she just may not be ready for reading or writing yet. That's normal. Don't worry, it'll happen for her when she's ready.

But if you feel there's a reason to be worried about her current development level, you should take her to a developmental pediatician and have her evaluated. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I don't mean to be preachy about this.

Theresa... i'm thinking:rolleyes:.. do i wait to tell my husband my stripper name until i get home from vegas? :rotfl2:

Wait. Trust me.

It's Bambi now ;) And I'm DEFINITELY waiting until after Vegas to tell DH my stripper name!!! He may think twice about wanting me to go - until AFTER we do the class (then he may be very happy for me to go back :thumbsup2)

Remember, you can collect tips.;)

Oh, and I can top all of your stripper names...how can anyone forget mine...

We don't need to go announcing my stripper name. :rolleyes1

cccdisney... my youngest granddaughter has asbergers.. {my spelling is off:goodvibes}......i found some cute ribbon charms on ebay with the autism puzzle on it..and then my oldest granddaughter put the charms on them and gave them to her brownie troop. They were so inexpensive and reallty turned out cute.

Oh, I just saw this post. So I'm a bit confused. Your youngest granddaughter, who is the twin, has aspergers? Or you have another granddaughter (not the twin) with aspergers?

She's already been evaluated? Is she receiving any therapy?

Remember the video I PMed you. Get those tips!! ;) :rotfl:

Yoyos, chinese jump rope and click clacks!!!!
I have no clue what those last two are. I know what a yoyo is, but never used one. I don't know how. :rotfl:

Now Mary Jo, if I have to discuss my uterus in my tag, then I think it's only fair that your panty issues are up for grabs. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Anyway then tonight is just Survivor, CSI and Eleventh hour and that's bout it.
I love Survivor and CSI. I think tonight is the final ER episode too.

Hi Terrie!
welcome-551.gif

I'm glad you and your mom will be able to make it. Since the trip is sooooo far out, we only have dates planned at this point. But if you are needing more specific info you can look into some of that on your own. For example, last year we stayed at the HoJo and probably several of us will again. That's no more then $85 a night, hopefully less.
There will probably be tours offered such as the Segway and Walk in Walt's Footsteps. That info can be found on the Disneyland website. As for meals, it totally up to you if you want to do counter service or sit down or a mix of both.

Once we get closer info will start going up on the front page that offers more details so keep an eye out for that. :)

Does anyone know if we have to share rooms with anyone else or can we just have our own? I know I wouldn't mind, but not sure my mom will:confused3
It's totally up to you. If you and your mom want your own room that's fine. Some of the ladies had roommates and some didn't.

It's not an organized tour company that is telling you that you have to do this or do that, and be here at this time, etc.
It's really informal, more like a group of good friends getting together to hang out which is nice because you can really customize the trip to make it what you want it to be.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

I was going to say, but I didn't want to look like a weenie!!! I can't yoyo either - don't have enough coordination!!
Well, you know me. I don't care if I look like a weenie. :rotfl:

I don't know if this has been discussed here but I just read on a DL fan site through Facebook that DL is bring back it's Light Magic Street Spectacular in 2010.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Anahe...2278295#/topic.php?uid=11081890741&topic=9175

You can read all about it on this link - hope it shows up.
Cool, thanks for the link. I'll have to check that out.

Hi Trudi - thanks for the link on the parade. :thumbsup2

Of course this 48 year old remembers click-clacks and chinese jump ropes;) As far as pants go, we were not allowed to wear them until junior high. It was dresses only. But once I could, I loved Dittos. Courderoy dittos especially. And if you had a big butt, you were in trouble with those pants! Luckily, everything large on me is in the front (belly, chesticles...). :rotfl2: Add a spray of Love's baby soft and I'm ready for a date! Speaking of, can you believe Miley Cyrus' 20 year old underwear-model lives with her?:scared1: I guess when you have a bajillion dollars you can do what you want.

:goodvibes
I have two granddaughters, one 6 and one 4. The 4 year old is a twin.
The 4 year old was diagnoised by her pediaatrition as being borderline aspergers. My Daugher and Her Husband are very proactive and have gone to the recommended therapy classes and are implementing the tools they have been taught in their daily lifes. On a whole she does very good however there are some days when she zones out and her coordination is just not there. And we adjust to that pace.:goodvibes

You can see both of the girls pictures in my trip report on my signature.

Welcome, Terrie!

Oh, and I totally agree, the Tag Fairy Rocks! :thumbsup2

I had a yo-yo when I was little, it's all about timing. I never had the coordination for a hula hoop though.

My mom woke me up way before my alarm was supposed to go off because my little sister forgot her homework. NOT a happy camper

I should go get ready for school but I really DON'T want to go

Terrie.... Welcome to the Group!

I brought my Mom this year. And we stayed together in a room.. my mom didn't feel comfortable sharing a room with others at her age. She had a Great time and fit in fine. In Fact there were quite a few moms on the trip.

There are different prices for tours..

the VIP tour was one that the disboard girls would not recommend..in fact we complained and got a refund.

However the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour was ReaLLy Super Great and worth the money! Check the disneyland.com website and see how much it is there.. the tour includes a boxed sandwich lunch and a special keepsake pin. We loved this tour and are thinking about doing it again next year.:thumbsup2

I know that the girls on the Segway tour had a great time too! You can find the info about that tour on the disney website also. Or give Disney a call.

When it gets closer to time ..tour groups will form, but i understand about wanting to know how much to save.
