Besides Disney, where do you like to shop?

Im looking for holiday dress for my daughter and want to avoid Old Navy, TCP, Gap, Gymboree, JCPenny, Kohls, Target and Walmart. (I enjoy these places but it seems my dd and my niece end up looking alike alot).

Im pretty cheap but would spend a bit more on something nice for the holiday.

Burlington Coat Factory - the land of the "Cheap" Princess dress. I go there once a year to get DD her holiday dress. I have never spent more than $40 (they are usually $29.99) She attends a Father/Daughter Ball every year and has yet to see someone in her dress.

Gaga's is an online kids formalwear rental place and is going out of business - they've got lots of really cute dresses at great prices. I had rented a few tuxes for the boys about a year ago and the quality of the tuxes and their service was excellent. Most of the items are "brand new, never been worn". Worth a look:

I second the Hanna Andersson recommendation, especially since they're having a sale on dresses right now. Still more expensive than anything you'll find at Target, Kohls, etc., but very cute.

You may also check to see if there are any consignment stores/sales near you. Some areas even have "snooty" (my words, not theirs) consignment sales where they'll only accept upscale brands. Those can be a treasure trove of good deals. This year, I got my daughter a new, with-tags smocked dress from some nice designer (don't know the name, since that stuff is totally lost on me) for $7.

Finally, Craig's List is a great place to get fancy dresses. Often, they've only been worn once or twice and are in great condition at a good price.

I've gotten DD's last few holiday dresses at Costco. I've also seen some nice Bonnie Jean dresses at Belks and Dillards if you have those stores in your area.

thanks for suggesting gagas. i just bought quite a few dresses. didnt get a holiday dress but got fancy dresses for next easter and her birthday in summer plus a couple i may gift out.
boys stuff was more sold out already but i did get an outfit each for my boys too.
had lots under $20.

We bought 21 dresses, a coat, 2 boys suits, lots of bows and socks at Gagas.com. I found them 3 weeks ago. They did have some pretty holiday dress. $100 designer dresses for $30 it's hard to say no. We have already placed 3 orders. Free shipping after $50. I am hoping after the first month of the sale they will cut the price again. We will buy for spring/summer 2010 if they do.
When I first found the sight they had 200+ 4t dresses now only 80
I have had a lot of fun with Ebay. I got some real gems and a few losers. I have a few things I am bidding right now a Burberry coat and a SUSANNE LIVELY dress. Please help me stop:eek: I have spent nearly $1000 in 3 weeks on my 3 year old:surfweb: We are going to WDW in 35 days she will be well dressed. lol

I like The Wooden Soldier (too lazy to google this early, but google The Wooden Soldier Children's Clothing)

I'm one of those smocked people so Allie has a ton.

If you're going to do Ebay search for Beaux Et Belles, Three Mommas, Silly Goose, Anavini, Amanda Remembered (I'm lucky enough to live near their warehouse, I've gotten some of these for $20!!!)

Beaux Et Belles are my favorite, you can customize them if you buy them new, but even used they're adorable.

Ebay isn't doing a lot right now for boutique custom children's cothing, so you may can get some real dals right now

I have always loved Macy's for holiday dresses for dd (now 7yo). They are always having a sale on them and dd looks great!

I second Wooden Soldier! We get a lot of holiday dresses and wonderful quality dress coats for our DD4 from them. Wonderful customer service too.

:-) Wooden Soldier is the only place I've been able to match my baby (2t/3t) and my big girl (10/12)

And most of their clothes LOOK like little girls

Try www.etsy.com - it's a website for all things handmade. Some of the crafters on that site make beautiful holiday dresses among other things.

Have any of your that ordered from Gagas.com received your orders? What did you think of the quality? Were they used or new? What store would you compare them to for quality and style? There are a couple I like but wonder what I will think of them once I see them in person. Since they are going out of business I don't think returns will be easy if possible at all. Thanks!
