*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Cheryl, I'm so sorry for your loss and poor Francine. She was too young. It's hard, but she is in a better place and no longer suffering and in pain.

Just getting home, so tired.

Feeling sick hearing about Francine passing. That happened so fast. I just can't believe it. CheryL..*biggest of hugs*.. i am so sorry. Francine was so sweet, there is a loss of light with her passing.

:guilty:

Oh Cheryl, your news brought tears to my eyes. Yes, 40 is way too young, indeed. Big hugs to you and I can only wish for strength and peace to Francine's family. It has got to be very trying and sad. :sad1:

Cheryl, my heart just dropped when I read your post. That was so fast, I know you'll miss her. I'm truly sorry, and will keep her family in my prayers.

thanks everyone--it is a shock that she died so soon. The weird thing was that the day she had the emergency surgery--before I knew it had happened I had told a friend that once she had surgery I didn't think she'd be back to work--just a sixth sense. I am very sorry that my prediction came true.

and not to belabor the point--but I'm wondering if going fast isn't in some ways better? another friend of mine died Memorial Day weekend (the same day Francine had her surgery) after almost two years of living with pancreatic cancer--lots of pain, surgeries, chemo, medical complications, etc. Who's to say which was better?

Cheryl, I'm so sorry about Francine. I have to tell you that my grandpa had a stroke an lived for more than a year, unable to do any of the things he enjoyed, including talking. A couple years later, his sister had a stroke and died within days. It's really hard to say which is better. I was so grateful to still have my grandpa, but he sure was suffering. And my cousins lost their grandma with no warning. So I guess their's no "better" way.

On a happier note, we catered our first wedding today. It was just a backyard reception for 40 people, but it was still a wedding. And I'm happy to report that everything went great!!!

I'm so sorry Cherly. You and her family are my thoughts and prayers.

So our plans were majorly changed on Friday. My coworker (friend too) received her humanitarian assignment and is moving to Ohio at the end of the month. Her mother in law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the beginning of the year and has no family near her to help her so the Air Force was able to get her close to her.

We knew it was going to happen just didn't know when and just so happens that i happened on Friday. So she has a million and one things to do by the end of August and won't be able to go on this trip. With her family not going Josh decided he wouldn't have anyone to go out with during the day while I'm at work so he and the kids are staying home. :sad1: So I'm leaving early this morning for Vegas. If all goes well I'll be meeting up with Beth, Wendy, Marcie and Theresa tonight. :cool1:

Hi everyone--I am ready for July to be over.

I got a call this morning from the daughter of my assistant--Francine. She said her Mom had been in the hospital since July 11th! (I had been calling and emailing and was getting worried.) and that she was not doing well, was on a respirator and the doctors were telling them there was no hope--so she wanted to know if I wanted to come before they took her off the respirator.

Of course, I jumped in the car and went to the hospital where Francine's family had gathered--it was very sad. I got to meet her Mom and Dad and see her daughters again. I didn't meet her husband because he was in with her the entire time and when I was in there I didn't want to interrupt him.

It was very very sad. She was only 40. I left the area when they took out the tube and joined her daughters and Mom and Dad in the waiting room--about five minutes later someone came and told us she was gone.

I know she is in a better place and I know that God must have a reason he took her but it seems so unfair. She was one of the sweetest people I had ever met--and had such high hopes.

Please say a prayer for her and her family.

I'm so sorry to hear this Cheryl :sad1:. It doesn't seem that long ago that you told us she was having emergency surgery. It's sad when someone that is so young is taken so fast, but she is out of pain and in a better place.:hug:. My thoughts and prayers and with you and her family.

Well that's no fun, but at least you're friend can be closer to her mom. I hope you get to meet up with the girls tonight for some fun and relaxation!

Morning all! I sure hope all the Vegas gals are having fun!!!

Hope everyone else is having a fun weekend!!

Mine has been pretty kick back and I am enjoying it. :)

Yesterday the girls and I went out and ran our loop. I decided to go and just check up on Lynn's story and sure enough I was right. She left about 10 minutes before the girls and I did supposedly "walking" up to the starbucks which is over a mile, more like 2 miles from our house. Well I drove the ENTIRE way and NO LYNN. There is NO WAY she could have walked that far in that short of time. SOOOO I get there and sure enough she was not only THERE already but walking out with a giant starbucks in her hand. Well she was SUPPOSED to be going up there to meet with the manager about a job but first of all she was wearing a super low cut tank top and super tight jean capris and thongs and secondly she had not even been in there more than 5 mins! So I was GOING to just drive on by cuz I didn't want her seeing that I was checking up on her but she saw us and flagged us down. But I told her I knew there was NO WAY she walked and she had to admit she got a ride. She claimed she got a ride from someone she saw but I think she hitch hiked! I was furious. First off she lied and second off I knew there was NO WAY she was doing what she told me. So just like I thought she was up to her same old tricks! But anyway then we just went to the store and the post office and then I rented a few movies. I am NOT happy about what she pulled but Shane is not here to deal with her and I don't feel comfortable with it and was told by my counselor NOT to. So Shane will have to deal with her when he gets home. But I kind of figured that was what was going on because NONE of her times made any sense on when she was taking off. But anyway the girls and I rented a movie called New in Town with Renee Zellwegger which was cute and Confessions of a Shopaholic. Both very cute.

Then last night we just hung out and watched old dvds and it was just a nice relaxing day.

Today I just have to run out and feed mom and dad's cats and then I have the rest of the day to veg. Can't wait! :)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and talk later!

Stay strong Kelly! Lynn has got to get her act together sooner or later.

I saw the other thread, but it was too late to get involved. I did not realize that things were going to be planned already!!! You girls rock!

What do I need to do to get involved and get a mommy vacation? Hubby said that I could go this next time when I told him about the last get together that was happening.

So, help me out with what I need to do and what you want to know about me!!

Hi Daisy! Welcome to the Divas! All you need to do is read the first page of the thread for lots of important info and meet the requirements of being over 18 and female! If that is the case than you are set! Quite a few of us like to come on to the thread to chat and get to know each other and do a little planning here and there. Please don't feel like you need to read the whole thread! Just the first page and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Again, Welcome!
