Afternoon all. I am back from the meet. It was another brutal day. SOOO hot! Luckily I was able to get a ride home with one of our friends. Shane is STILL there and who knows when he will be home! Katy decided to stay with him which I am surprised the way she was acting but I was GLAD to get out of there cuz I was dieing of the heat. Anyway the girls did ok in their 50 frees. Both dropped their times but were once again middle of the road as far as place. I think Katy got 3rd in her heat and Shelby got 5th. Shelby did break the one minute mark which was awesome and Katy dropped her time down to 43 seconds which was good.

Then in the breast stroke Shelby did AWESOME. She didn't do well place wise in her heat but she was in the TOP heat with the very best swimmers so that was to be expected. She was swimming with the best of the best and she JUST got a 29 last weekend when she took first and today she broke that and got a 26! She took 20th place overall out of 100! Then Katy didn't do as well. Her time actually went up a bit and she got like 80th. So she was not too happy but that is her worst stroke. Then in butterfly Shelby actually didn't do too bad considering that is not her best stroke and she got 40th place. Katy did well again and was in a top heat and took 20th place and dropped her time down to 19 seconds. That is her best ever time but the top swimmers were doing it in like 15 seconds. VERY hard to beat! So they have a lot to work up to but they did ok. I think what was tough for them was that all of their friends got SOMETHING. They all won at least a heat or some of their friends got in several finals and won medals. Even though my girls did much better time wise they didn't win anything so it is hard to watch their friends walk away with ribbons and medals and they got nothing but I keep trying to tell them that they dropped their times and that is all that matters.

Anyway now tomorrow I have work and then wed I believe Lynn will be going back up to Sutter to turn in her work for her diploma. Then Thurs night is our swim party. Then Friday I have work again and this coming weekend Shane is going to go camping. Then the next week is vacation bible school which NORMALLY I would really look forward to except wed I have my stupid colonoscopy. UGH! But the week AFTER that we leave for D.C. so I just have to look PAST that LOL. I just wish I didn't have to do that. SIGH! I REALLY didn't want to have to do another one of these tests anytime soon. Most people only have to do something like that once every ten years. I JUST did one less than a year ago. IT was the WORST thing I had to do and I got SO sick. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. How is everyone doing tonight? Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday evening.

I made a big pot of gumbo for dinner, but I burned the roux, so it's not as good as I usually make. I'm actually pretty disappointed I did that because I've never done it before. But oh well......whatcha gonna do?

Now I'm just waiting until 8:30pm, when the new True Blood comes on. I love that show. It's definitely an adult show though.....even the opening credits have some YOWZA scenes in it.

It has been a long weekend.
We went to Spokane yesterday for a wedding at Gonzaga. There is a very nice Catholic church on campus. It was HOT!!! inside. It was very nice, but long, but atleast it was half the length of a normal Catholic wedding.
The reception was across the courtyard at Cataldo hall. I think I may have drank a little too much...

I guess you know that you are at a wedding with country folks when they are waiting for the wedding to start talking about getting new parts for combine that morning. Asking us if the basin has started harvest yet. Then asking us when we would be up for harvest so we could get together at the some bar in Rosalia. But it was a nice wedding. Fun, but it didn't start until 7:30. It was the third wedding there that day!!

today we went to Costco....I love that place!

Capri your gumbo sounds tasty, even if it was slightly burned. I hope it was still good.

Where did you girls go?


Today was unbearably hot (as usual), I think we reached 110 degrees today. We had church, drove Anais to my aunt's house because they were taking her to the circus, went home to change and then headed over to a church member's house for the baptism. We missed the actual baptisms but arrived while everyone was eating. It was a potluck so there were tons of good food! We brought 3 boxes of different ice cream (drumsticks, fresh fruit popsicles and those pineapple/cherry super pops). We (my family) swam about three hours!

Then we came home so Osita could run around for a bit and get food/water. Then we drove to my aunt's house but I was too tired to go swimming again. So i watched TV...in an air conditioned house They arrived around 9pm and we left around 10pm.

Now I'm here, tired, and I have to apply for a different private student loan because I JUST realized that I have to make interest-only payments with Sallie Mae. I'm looking to Chase right now.

I am off to workout here in a minute and then off to work. BLEH! I think it is going to be hot again today but hopefully not AS hot as the weekend. Today is my dad's birthday so we are going over there tonight to celebrate. The kids will probably swim and we will bbq. I remember two years ago we left for Disneyland this week cuz it was right after swim ended. WAH. I wish I was going. I think I mentioned before this is the first summer in like 5 years that I will NOT have gone. I am over it though cuz I have my D.C. trip coming up and I am actually looking forward to something different AND we have the Oct trip to look forward to instead and this time it is with the Divas so that is even MORE fun!

Anywho I better run and get going so I can get my day started. Hope everyone has a good one and stays cool!

Good Monday Morning Divas!!!

We're down to the deadline of deciding whether to move our 30 day notice out until Sept 1st.......I'm frustrated to say the least! Mike's been applying like crazy up in the Salem/Portland area as well as sending app's off to Orange County & NOTHING.....not one email or call.......
The twins have a week of appts in Portland in the middle of August & our goal was to be living up in Salem, so we wouldn't have to worry about staying in a motel & eating out every meal.....now that doesn't look like it's going to happen. We have until Wednesday before we have to contact our property managers, so miracles of miracles need to happen today or tomorrow.

Ok, enough whining from me.........how was everyone's HOT weekend???

The last time I went to Universal Studios was back in 1980, so I'm sure it's very different now. Our boys are finally at an age where they think it looks like fun (and they LOVE all the movies the attractions are based on, like Terminator, Shrek, The Mummy, etc) so I thought it might be fun to do something different than Disneyland for a day. But geesh, they are kind of expensive in this economy. I see they are running a "Buy 1 day, get a second day free" promo, but who in the heck goes to Universal twice during a vacation? Is there that much to do there? From what I hear, it's not a two day park because there's just not that much to do there. Seems like a silly promo to me if that's the case.

Anyway, I figured they might offer special ticket deals in the local area, and if that's the case, I was just wondering what the deals are and where we need to go to get them.
