*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Oh, and Capri, best of luck. Sounds like a stye to me too. Be careful, in addition to them being kinda painful, they are also highly contagious.

Thanks babe.

Well crap, they're contagious? I wonder if I picked it up somewhere? I was out with my mom all day on Tuesday....she was shopping for a new car and we also went out to lunch together. I wonder if I rubbed my eye after touching who knows what while I was out with her and picked it up that way? By Wednesday morning, it was itching and bugging me, so I rubbed it periodically not thinking much about it. But by Wednesday evening, it was red and swollen and hurting, and today it's just the pits because it hurts even more. Kind of a deeper pain, like if someone had punched me in the eye.

I have to take my test today, so going to the doctor is out. I'll just have to do the warm compresses and hope it starts to feel better soon.

An old Mexican wives tale is that you get styes from watching dogs poop. :scared:

I stratched my cornea once a couple years ago and I had that same deeper pain, like I got punched. My eye wasn't itchy or anything, my eyelid was a little swollen and it hurt to blink, but it just felt like I got socked in the eye.

It was pretty painful and the eye doctor told me some women compare a scratched cornea to the pain of child birth. I don't think it hurt that bad, but I don't know what child birth feels like.

Capri--it might be stress induced. But I agree with Courtney--try the hot pack thing.

Katie: so sorry about your sister's family's loss. I would also try to get to the bottom of why she was released.

Looking forward to meeting Bridgette tonight and seeing some of the other Divas!

Make sure someone takes pictures. I wish I was able to come. :sad1:

Happy Birthday Bridgette!! princess:

It's supposed to be 110 here today. I'm also scared to see my bill. Our AC runs 24/7.

Happy early Birthday to your DD! Time does seem to fly doesn't it? I can't believe my twins just turned 9!

I think I am the only person who won't go see Harry Potter. I've never seen any of them except for the very first, and I don't remember it.
Thanks. That's a great story about your mom and dad! Wow, after all those years. How neat.

And look at you and your DBF. Way to go! :goodvibes

Yes, it will be much harder on you than on him. Darn that mommy guilt. But in my family we rarely celebrate birthdays on the actual day. Usually they fall during the week and with school and work it's too hectic so we'll wait until a weekend. You can just do an early celebration for him and make sure he gets some cool gifts to keep him busy while you are away.

It's supposed to be 113 here today and tomorrow and 115 on Saturday! :headache: At least our AC bill hasn't been as high as it used to be, we have solar panels on our roof that generate power that the electric company buys back from us when we over produce, which is usually in the winter. So we end up with a credit on each month's bill. If you look up my house on google maps, you can see the solar panels.

I've never seen any of the HP movies, nor have I read the books. DD20, on the other hand, has read them all more than once and seen the movies more than once. We own all the movies so I'm sure when the new one comes out on DVD, we'll own that one, too.

I just checked out the breakfast menu for Mimis and they have a New Pacific Croissant that looks fabulous! Maybe I will try it out and report back during my september trip!

We will be lucky if it breaks 70 here....it is so cold!

Happy birthday Bridgette! Really wish I could be there to help you celebrate!

Or she's going to get out the whip again.

:scared1: :scared:
Ooooo! :hyper:

And uh, I did drink the beer. I just took sips between holding it on my eye last night while watching a movie with my hubby. :rolleyes1
:thumbsup2

Thanks babe.

Well crap, they're contagious?
Yes. So don't reuse the same washcloth on it, or make up sponge, etc. Try to keep your hands off it and keep them washed. IF that's what it is.

Noelle was outside one day and got the tiniest speck of dirt in her eye. It went under her upper eyelid and I could see it, but couldn't get to it. We wanted to see if it got washed out on it's own, but by morning she was in pain and her eye was red, and really swollen. I took her to the Urgent Care and they were able to get it out.

Eyes are not something you want to mess with. I know you are busy today, but you should really try to get into your doctor or an urgent care to get it taken care of and a proper diagnosis.

Me too!!! I want to be there.
But I'm happy to be seeing Jane, Amy, Theresa, Marcie, Stacie, Tracey and some others very soon. :goodvibes

And Bridgette, have a wonderful birthday!!! :) :cake::bday:

OMG, that sounds so good. I'm so hungry all the time now. I don't know why. I've gained so much lately. I need to get back on track.

Katie-So sorry to hear about your friend.

Capri-Good luck on the Praxis! I know you will do great!

I hope you all are having a good day. I just got back from my consult with the plastic surgeon. After probing my b:eek:bs and taking pics (humiliating, btw) he is submitting it to the insurance. Hopefully I will be getting these babies reduced before I go back to work at the end of next month.

I am feeling so lazy. I just want to take a nap.

I am going to see Harry Potter tomorrow night with some friends. I am really looking forward to it. I have read all the books and I own all the movies. DD has a major crush on Harry. I would take her but she can't sit still in a 90 minute Disney movie...so I know she will not sit still for a long HP movie.

I also got a call from my school. I graduated with a 3.99 GPA and officially have my AA. Finally. Now I am on to get my BS. I will be setting up my classes this week. I am so excited. I start class on the 28th. I will soon be taking the Praxis like Capri. Maybe she can hook a sistah up with some tips.:thumbsup2

Me too, sister. It started with the cruise and I just haven't been good since then. You get three meals a day, plus dessert at lunch AND dinner, not to mention the bottle of wine or champage you share every night after having a "drink of the day" poolside. Man, you get spoiled and then come home and wonder why your fat behind doesn't fit in your favorite pants anymore.:sad2:

I have to get on track here quick, because once Oct comes, it's all over. It starts with Halloween candy and then Thanksgiving feast followed by Christmas. Who doesn't overeat at Christmas? I want to get a WII and try to do some of the physical stuff. I think exercise would make a big difference and I just don't do anything. I sit at a desk all day and then sit at home in front of the computer and/or TV all night!

Of course, a diet would have to start after Bridgette's birthday feast tonight. We can't let her eat dessert alone, can we? What kind of friends would do that? Not us Divas, that's for sure!.

Capri, take care of that eye, girl!

January my friend, I have two words for you....DO IT!!!
I had my girls reduced (and lifted) four years ago and believe me, it is the best thing I ever did. My insurance paid for it, too. I actually wish they were still a little smaller as I am a full DD but it has made a huge difference in my life. We can talk later in private if you wish. Just trust me and do it, you will be so much happier. :)

PS At least when they take the pics, they are from the chest down only.

Howdy ladies!!

Tracey, My best friend's little girl was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 5 too. It was so scary. This is a huge deal for your friend. It is going to be alot of work to learn how to test, and how much insulin to give. It's alawys different. It is going to be very overwhelming, and downright terrifying at times. Our friends were fortunate to find a very caring doctor whose passion was treating children with diabetes. This little girl is now 17, and has been wearing a pump for years. I hope that your friends can find a wonderful doctor too, and have lots of support.

Capri, good luck on your test, and I hope your eye is already feeling better!:flower3:

Happy Birthday to Brigette! Wish I could be with you and everyone to help celebrate. Have fun!!! :bday:party::rockband::jumping1::cake::cake::cake:

Katie, I am so sorry to hear about your sister's loss. It sounds like this lady was a wonderful person, and you will miss her very much too. Take care.

A big welcome to our newest Diva! Hi Angie, my name is Melody. :flower3:

It is suppose to be around a 104 here today!! :scared: BTW- Dave and I are getting away a few days early and going to Pismo Beach. :goodvibes The rest of the family will be joining us the following Sunday, and then we will all go down the coast together to Refugio, and camp the rest of the week there. Yay!:yay:

Kaityln got her braces off today. She has always looked older than her peers, but now she really does. :sad2: My little girl, who I want to hold onto is growing up way too fast. :sad1: :sad1::sad1:

Beth, you have a nice love story. It's very special. :cloud9: My sister who starting seeing her DH at 14, is still married and very much in love too.

Courtney, I love your parent's story too. Kind of like Parent Trap, how they got back together again, and never got hitched in between. It was meant to be. :lovestruc

Mel--just be really careful if you guys go for a walk or hiking--it's rattlesnake season. On the news yesterday was a lady who let her dogs out at a rest stop near Gaviota State Beach and got bit by a baby rattler! 21 vials of anti-venom later . . . .

Yay for Kaityln! She must be so happy! I can't wait to get these babies off. I still have 12 months left on my braces! :headache:

I never thought of it like the story from Parent Trap! Duh! Good thinking, Mel! :thumbsup2

Ew, I saw that on the news yesterday too. :scared: Poor lady.

Yikes!! That is terrible!!:scared1:

We do go on alot of walks, but mostly along the beach. But there is also a trail along the cliffs that we occasionally go on too. We usually are careful, but it is always nice to be reminded of the rattlers, so we don't put our guard down.

Thanks!
